PDF presentation in Photoshop

Is it possible to create a PDF presentation in Photoshop CS4 using the Snow Leopard OS?
If so how? I can't find it. Adobe moved other apps from Photoshop to Bridge. Did they do that with PDF as well?
Is it necessary to go back to an older version of Photoshop CS or Leopard?

PDF Presentation from Photoshop CS3 lacks Fade Transition

I'm using Photoshop and Bridge CS3 extended and the PDF Presentation
tool for creating a slideshow doesn't contain a "Fade" transition. It has
many other goofy transitions that I would be embarrassed to
use professionally.
I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question or if I'm doing
this correctly (I've never posted to a forum before). I'm guessing that
Acrobat creates the slideshow but maybe Photoshop does it.

PDF Presentation in CS4

How can I make a PDF Presentation in Photoshop CS4 as I used to be able to do in CS3? I still have both versions installed. Is there some file that I can drag from CS3 into CS4? I can't find anything called PDF Presentation in the app folder of CS3. (I dragged Contact Sheet II from CS3 to CS4 and it works perfectly. Now I need the next step.)

Trying To Make PDF Presentation But End Up With A Normal Document?

I am trying to make a .pdf presentation with Photoshop CS3.
I follow all the instructions, select the time of each slide and the transition, but when I click on save I get a window asking me how I want to save the files and I end up with a normal .pdf document where I can view each picture manually or use the slideshow setting but no transitions appear.
Any ideas from this brief account of my actions, what I might be doing wrong?

Thank you for the link Laurentiu. At about the same time as you posted it I discovered that if I used Adobe Reader I could get the slideshow presentation to work, at least partially.
I had been using Preview and of course it just displayed it as a .pdf document.
However, my problem is not completely solved.
When PS finished making the presentation I got a warning message that the preset used was not suitable for presentations and transitions between pages would not show.
Strangely, the transitions do display, but my selection of looping the slideshow does not work.
I wonder why and which preset should I use?

PDF Presentation Not Working

I create a PDF Presentation in Photoshop and I select a transition but when I open the document, it never forwards to the 2nd photo. I'd really appreciate if anyone could help. I use CS6 Mac 10.9.2. Thanks

Look at the Full-Screen options in the Preferences dialog box.

Photoshop/Bridge CS4 PDF Presentation Update or Plug-in

Full Parameter PDF Presentation is essential for me.
PDF Presentation (as in Photoshop - Bridge CS2 and CS3) with panels for selection of presentation prameters and saving with various levels of jpeg compression and image quality, presets and output color conversion, etc. . This was not only a very useful feature, but has become a required component of my workflow over the past three years. This to shoot all imaages in RAW, upload files to Bridge, develop a wide range of selected images with Camera RAW and then produce a PDF slide show of 20-25 'proofs' while still in Bridge with a size of 10-15MB that can be emailed to various recipients for review and final selection. Final selections are then fine truned in Photoshop for printing. While some of the improvements in CS4 are useful, CS3 at present is more satisfactory and remains more useful than the CS4 upgrade. Addition of this feature as an update or legacy plug-in (the basic componets exist in CS4) would be more than acceoptable and allow me to complete the upgrade to CS4. Your attention and help will be very much appreciaated!

Using the Adobe Output Module script, you can create Adobe PDF contact sheets and presentations in Adobe Bridge. Contact sheets let you easily preview and catalog groups of images by displaying a series of thumbnails on a single page. PDF presentations let you use a variety of images to create a multipage document for slide show presentation. You can set options for image quality in the PDF, specify security settings, and set the document to open automatically in full-screen mode in Adobe Acrobat. You can also add the filename as a text overlay below each image in the PDF.
1. Select the files or the collection or folder that contains the images you want to include in the contact sheet or presentation.
2. Choose Window > Workspace > Output.
If the Output workspace is not listed, select Adobe Output Module in Startup Scripts preferences.
Adobe Bridge displays the Output panel at the right side of the window and the Folders panel at the left. The Content panel with your selected photos appears at the bottom of the window, and the Preview panel appears in the middle.
3. In the Output panel, select PDF.
4. Choose a layout option from the Template menu.
5. With your photos selected in the Content panel, click Refresh Preview to view the contact sheet in the Output Preview panel.
Note: The Output Preview panel displays only one PDF page.
6. Customize the appearance of the contact sheet by specifying options in the Document, Layout, Overlays, and Watermark areas of the Output panel.
7. (Optional) Change the images in the PDF by navigating to them in the Folders or Favorites panel, and then selecting them in the Content panel. You can also use the Preview panel to preview the images and refine your selection. Drag thumbnails in the Content panel to rearrange the order of the images on the page.
8. Click Refresh Preview at any time to update the PDF and see the changes in the Output Preview panel.
9. For presentations, specify the following options in the Playback panel:
Open In Full Screen Mode
Opens the PDF in full-screen mode in Adobe Acrobat.
Advance Every [x] Seconds
Specifies how long each image is displayed before the presentation advances to the next image. The default duration is 5 seconds.
Loop After Last Page
Specifies that the presentation automatically starts over after reaching the end. Deselect this option to stop the presentation after the final image is displayed.
Transition
Specifies the transition when moving from one image to the next. Choose a transition from the Transition menu. Depending on the transition, you can also specify a Direction and a Speed.
10. If youd like to automatically open the PDF in Acrobat after you save it, select View PDF After Save at the bottom of the Output panel. Otherwise, just click Save.
11. In the Save (Windows) or Save As (Mac OS) dialog box, enter a name for the PDF, select a destination for the saved file, and then click Save.

If I understand your question you want to repeat one image 8 times in one signle page PDF. I do not know for such script that is available. What I can recommend you is to create manually layout in Photoshop and save as PDF. To automate proccess and use same layout but to replace image which is in use with some other, you can use Variables or Actions. Thats only advice I can give you at this time. Actually easiest way to automate things and replace images is to Create Smart Object then to clone it 7 times (Ctrl + J or right click > Duplicate Layer). When you have cloned Smart Objects, replacing content in one of Smart Object will reflect to all other clones. Create layout. When you want to replace existing image with some other use right click on Smart Object > Replace Contents or Layer > Smart Objects > Replace Contents.. Be aware of image (which will replace existing) size and resolution, Photoshop will also scale image which will replace existing to match existing image scaling in percentage. Acrobat 9 pro and problems with pdf made by photoshop cs4

I have encountered a problem when viewing pdfs exported from photoshop cs4 using acrobat pro 9. If I open single pdf, it's ok, but whenever I open another pdf, all text is jagged. Then if I close all pdfs and try opening the second one, it's ok again. It looks like acrobat is not able to render texts correctly in newly opened pdf when another pdf is already opened.
This happens only with pdfs exported from photoshop (file->save as->pdf). It does not really matter if the first opened pdf is from photoshop or not, all other opened pdfs from photoshop are crapy.
I tried different settings when saving pdf but the results are always the same - jagged type (it does not even look like aliased, it's completely screwed and unreadable) in second pdf. It is funny because text present as smart object from illustrator renders fine all the time. Therefor I think the problem is between photoshop export and acrobat, vectors are rendered with no problems.
I tried opening on different pc (also with acrobat 9 pro) with the same result. Systems are vista on exporting pc, the second pc is running windows7 beta. However on the third pc with windows XP and adobe reader 9 everything works fine.
Any ideas how to make this work?

Solution found for me. From Adobe Acrobat & Reader 9.1 Release Notes:
Roaming Profiles on Windows and Networked Home Directory on Macintosh
are not supported configurations for 9.0 or 9.1, however we have made
several fixes in 9.1. We are looking at the possibility of supporting
this for the next major release.
As I am working with roaming profiles, my current solution (which is no solution at all) is to wipe current and reinstall Acrobat/Reader 8. Among other things there are supposed console hacks to make the purchased Adobe software run at all in a group work environment. I will end up trying them later.

Resolution problem with pdf presentation from CS4 in Bridge

I have CS4 and am consistently having problems creating multipage pdf files using Bridge; though they are created using 300 dpi files in Photoshop CS4 the resulting multipage pdfs from Bridge are not print quality. I never had a problem with this before Bridge was required to create pdf presentations. The files used to create the presentation in Bridge are either psd or Photoshop pdf at 300 dpi. I am completely self-taught in Photoshop and my skill level is moderate at best, but I am not finding anything to help me so far in searching google and forums. Does anyone have any info to point me in the right direction? thanks-

Page order in PDF Presentations

I am using Photoshop to clean up and edit multi-page PDF files. By the time I import the PDF, and go to export it again by creating a PDF presentation, the page order is backwards. This can be very time consuming to fix by dragging the pages on the bottom to the top over and over (I do this after clicking "Automate" then "PDF Presentation". Is there any way around this?

Tags are independent of PDF page content. Removing/deleting a page or page(s) does not remove anything in the PDF's structure tree.
As Full Check is looking at the structure tree the report reflects what is present there.
In the Tags panel walk the structure tree to locate the Table tags. Delete these.

Preserving metadate in PDF Presentation

I have Photoshop CS3 with Bridge. I digitally photograph documents in RAW. In Bridge, I embed metadata. I open all images in Photoshop and create .jpegs. Both the RAW image and the jpeg retain the metadata. However, if I use PDF Presentation to create a single document, the metadata no long shows when I highlight the completed document. I know the data is recorded somewhere, because the title, author and copyright info correctly appears in the finished document.
How do I get the metadata saved in the PDF Presentation document to be revealed when I highlight (click on) the document?

Hi for some reason in CS4 they got rid of the PDF Presentation option. I find this a amazing too. Many times when I have lots of windows open this is the easiest way to combine them in a PDF ready to send to the client.
For the life of me I can't understand why you got rid of this feature.
Please bring it back!!!

To create a multipage PDF document you have to export each LayerComp to a separate file, save them, navigate to Bridge, then deal with creating the PDF document in the same resolution, etc. Even if you don't have a requirement to save intermediary files, you have spend considerable time and used substantial hard drive space to create those intermediary files that didn't used to need to be created.
The Output Module in Bridge is great - but it isn't a replacement for PDF Presentation or for LayerComps to PDF. A common workflow for me now takes substantially longer, is more difficult to accomplish, and creates hundreds of intermediary files that I have no need of.

CS2 Error message.= The command "pdf presentation" is not available at this time.

CS2 and Bridge will not make any pdfs'
CS2 has been un-installed and re-installed twice from disc without solving problem.
I will download CS2 from Adobe as my next step, however my CS2 disc would have to be de-activated and there is no activation server for CS2 anymore.

Does the pdf presentation work if you invoke the command in photoshop proper instead of bridge?

I really don't think using the adobe cs2 download will make any difference as either your bridge and/or photoshop preferences could be corrupted
and you should try resetting those as they are not reset during a unistall/reinstall of cs2.

ADD - If done properly you will get a reset window with 3 options.

CS4/CS3 PDF Presentation

Installed CS4 Production Premium about a month ago. Recently went to File--Automate--PDF Presentation and it is missing. Should have read the forums before I got CS4! So I confidently went back to Photoshop C3 Extended and started to do a series of PDF Presentation document builds. My one page "documents" went fine. Had two multi-page documents. Go thru the menus ok and even see the page by page presentation during the document build and then no error. Come to find out, all the multi-page files have the proper "name.pdf" but have a file size of zero. Now this never happened prior to installing CS4.
Q1. Did the installation of CS4 actually remove function from the installed Photoshop CS3?
Q2. What happened to all the Photoshop CS3 plug-ins? Don't see any way to get a listing in CS4.
Maybe I missed it but was all the function removal from CS3 with CS4 ever described in the "What's New in CS4" documentation?

As discussed many times: Several features have been moved to Bridge, others are still available via an optional install from your content disc.

No, but it may have updated the globally shared PDF libraries so they are no longer compatible with what the particular script/ tool expects.
