PDF Preview NOT available!  HELP!

In LiveCyle 8.0, I cannot preview my form as a pdf. There's no tab next to Design View, the preview option is greyed out on the View menu, and F5 does not work. Why??

>I am having same problems - I have even reinstalled Adobe Professional 8 and Adobe Reader 8 - still grayed out under View...
Maybe installing Reader is the problem. This isn't recommended.
I have nothing to suggest except uninstalling both and reinstalling
Acrobat only, but I cannot offer any particular hope it will work.

  • LiveCycle Version 8-PDF Preview not available

I am designing forms in LiveCycle version 8.0. The PDF Preview is not available. The help file says it's because I don't have Acrobat installed. I have Acrobat Professional version 8 installed. How do I get the PDF preview?

This just started happening for me today. Yesterday Designer 8 was fine. PDF preview was available. Today, suddenly, it's grayed out in the menu and the PDF Preview tab is missing from the main window... POOF! Gone!
I have already done a repair of Acrobat 8... how do I get the PDF PReview back? This is absurd!

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro PC with Windows 7 - error mess "Adobe PDF Printer - not available" Help?

Just loaded my old Acrobat 7.0 Professional on new PC with Windows 7 - Error message "Adobe PDF Priner not available.  Therefore do not have option of Adobe printer when using Word.
Any ideas as to what  - if anythjing I can do?

    Hi,
Technically acrobat 7 not not designed for windows 7 OS. You can try to install the pdf printer manually but it's not guaranteed :
Click the Windows "Start" menu, select "Control Panel," choose "Hardware and Sound," click the "Add a Printer" link under Devices and Printers.
Click "Next" and select "Local Printer Attached to This Computer."
Remove the check from "Automatically Detect and Install My Plug and Play Printer" and click "Next."
Select "My Documents\\*.pdf (Adobe PDF)" in the port selection drop-down menu and click "Next."
Select the "Have Disk" option and click the "Browse" button to open a dialog box.
Select the "AdobePDF.inf" file located in the AdobePDF folder in your Program Files directory under "Adobe" | "Acrobat 9.0" | "Acrobat" | "Xtras."
Select the first item on the list of Adobe PDF Converter options and click "Next."
Type "Adobe PDF" in the field for a printer name and click "Next."
Wait for two minutes for the system to process the drivers and click "Finish" to close the Add a Printer wizard.
    Hope this helps.

  • Preview not available for this file on import

I just transferred all my stuff from a vista computer to a new Windows 7. Lightroom 3.3 is now running as a 64 bit. I am importing tiff scans which were done on the Vista computer. At first everything was going fine, but now when I select files for import, all I can see are greyed out boxes which say "preview not available for this file". If I import the file, all is well, but I would like to see them in preview as well. Also, the program has crashed twice in the middle of an import.
    Thanks for any help!

Yes, the larger preview is viewable. I'm using Vuescan to scan the files. Nothing has changed with the scanning from the previous scans which worked fine...same settings, same computer (not the new one).

  • "Preview not available for this file" error message.

I'm using LR 4.4 but it hasn't worked correctly since I got my new camera (Canon 70D). When trying to import I keep getting the "Preview not available for this file" error message. I had some better luck connecting the camera with a usb cable, that let me see the jpg images, but it would not let me see the raw (.cr2) images. Would I solve this problem by upgrading to LR5?
    I'm running LR 4.4 on a Windows 7 PC.
Thanks for any help that can be provided.
    Robert

Support for the Canon 70D was introduced with LR version 5.2. see the link below.

  • Preview not Available for NEF files

It is my first time using LR and also my first time trying to download NEF files from my new D750. I removed the card from the camera and inserted it into my computer (MacBook Pro) I can see previews of the images shot in JPEG format, but those shot in RAW format are appearing as boxes with "Preview not available".  The D750 came with Nikon ViewNX2 software, which I downloaded, and I can see the previews on that. Any suggestions/ideas on what might be the problem?

Lightroom does not support the Nikon D750 RAW photos at this time.
    Please read this thread:
    Support for Nikon D750
Just released (see the message 49 of that thread) is a DNG converter that should allow you to convert the NEF to DNG and import those into Lightroom.

  • Flash CS5.5 Library Assets "Preview not available"

Library assets essentially vanishing into thin air.  You either get blank white or "Preview not available" when you click on them.  And then when you click to Edit them, you get a memory error.
Still no fix for this guys?  2 years and a version upgrade later...unbelievable.  Adobe is a lost cause...

The number of frames in each scene doesn't look like a problem.
I would suggest you to Keep one scene and split your elements in Movie Clips instead of creating different scenes.
Your explanation suggests that your scenes run continuously and there is no interaction by the user. So you can easily use 6 movie Clips in the timeline instead of Six Scenes.
Let me know if this solution resolves your issue.

  • Windows 8 - Adobe PDF Viewer Not Available

I have two new Dell touchscreen laptops with Windows 8 (not 8.1).
I am unable to get the tile/app integrated browser to open PDF files.   Upon downloading a PDF it reports "Adobe PDF Viewer Not Available".
I've gone to the app store from Microsoft, and downloaded the tile/app reader, and it reports being installed....but no joy.  I've gone to the Adobe site, and looked for and installed any/all Windows 8 viewers I can find, but it still doesn't work.
I CAN view PDF files by clicking on the Windows key, clicking on the desktop, opening IE, then using the Adobe Reader 11 that was installed.  This seems so pointless, because the only way to view a PDF is to take about 4 extra clicks than I do in Ubuntu, Windows 7, or a Mac.
    What's up with this?

Internet Explorer has two versions on Windows 8/RT.
    (a) The desktop version of IE supports plugins and accelerators.  This is the version that you launch from the Windows 8/RT desktop.
    (b) The Windows Store app version (with "Modern" or "Metro" UI) of IE is touch-optimized, full screen, and plugin free. This is the version that you launch by tapping/clicking the tile in the Start screen.
See the Microsoft documentation titled Get ready for plug-in free browsing.
"Starting with Windows 8, IE is one web platform that provides two browsing experiences: the new IE in the new Windows UI optimized for touch devices, and the traditional browsing experience of Internet Explorer for the desktop. As a Windows app, Internet Explorer runs without plug-ins so that you have a clean, fast, and secure web browsing experience, while also providing a native Adobe Flash player. "
Similarly, Adobe Reader also has two versions on Windows 8/RT.
    (a) The desktop version is called Adobe Reader XI. It is a mature product that has been available in the market for the past 20 years and offers a rich set of features.  It supports in-browser viewing of PDFs by installing the browser plugin to the desktop version of IE.  However, the downsides of the desktop version are the incompatibility with the Windows RT operating system and security vulnerabilities. In general, the desktop version is less secure than the Windows Store app version.
    (b) The Windows Store app version is called Adobe Reader Touch.  It is a relatively new product that was introduced a year ago.  It does not support in-browser viewing of PDFs because of the security restrictions that are imposed on all Windows Store apps. It is compatible with both Windows 8 and RT operating systems.
Because the Windows Store app version of IE is designed to be plugin-free, no other desktop/Windows Store apps (hence, not even Adobe Reader XI) can install additional plugins (other than the Flash support that is built-in by default).
If you want the in-browser PDF viewing support, you need to use the desktop version of IE and the desktop version of a PDF viewer like Adobe Reader XI.
This is the application architecture decision that Microsoft has made deliberately. It's not a bug or oversight.
Microsoft has the Windows Store app version of PDF viewer called "Reader".  It may be possible for Microsoft to add the in-browser PDF viewing support using Reader (just like Google Chrome does) in a future release of the Windows Store app version of IE.  But it did not happen in the newer version of the operating systems: Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.
If you have any feature requests/suggestions/questions regarding the Windows Store app version of IE, please visit the Microsoft forum instead.

  • PDF previewer not working in Outlook

    All,
I have recently updated to Adobe reader 11.0.10, I can now open the documents I was not able to open, but the previewer in Outlook stopped working. The error I get is that the doc is not supported by my currect reader and that I have to upgrade to the latest
version. I have done everything that people suggest on the web - trust center settings, etc., but I have not been successful. Has anyone encountered the same issue and do we have a solution?
    Any help is greatly appreciated
    My details: Win 7 Ent / 32 bit / Office 2010 / Adobe reader 11.0.10
    Thanks

    Hi,
Have you checked if the PDF Preview Handler is available and shows as enabled in File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Attachment Handling > Attachment and Document Previewers?
Which format of file are you previewing in Outlook? Please first make sure the format is supported by Adobe reader. You can verify this by consulting the Adobe Reader support. If the file type is supported by Adobe Reader, please open Control Panel,
find and click Default Programs >
Associate a file type or protocol with a program, then locate the file format and make sure
Adobe Reader is set as the default program for the file type.
If it's not a PDF document that you want to preview, we can also try to preview a PDF attachment to see if it works fine. If this issue continues when previewing a PDF attachment in Outlook, I'd recommend we uninstall and then reinstall the Adobe reader
    to see the result.
Please let me know the result.

  • Preview not available

    Hello:
I'm running Lightroom 3.6 on Windows XP.  My laptop crashed and I had to re-install Lightroom.  When I try to import my photos, I'm receiving "Preview is not available for this file".
Can someone help me out?  Lightroom was working perfectly before the crash and I don't quite understand what happened during the install process.
    Thanks in advance.

Just finished a similar exercise.  Finally figured out I needed to upgrade LR from 3.0 to 3.3 then to 3.6.  You might check to see if you are running in 3.0.

  • Tried to update to IOS6 and now my ipad is trying to restore -- getting error "activation server not available" help!  Have I lost all my video files?

I was trying to do a simple udate of the ios software.  I connected to ITunes and the Ipad screen popped up saying there was an update available.  I clicked on the update and it started updating and also there was a message saying it was backing up.  But then I got a message to click here to complete the update -- with a restore.  I did that and now my IPad is n ot woking at all -- I get the initial startup screen and a message that says "your ipad cannot be activated because the activation server is not available"  I've tried connecting to itunes and get the same message -- server not available.  The devices menu option is grayed out so I cant sync, backup,, restore nothing.... HELP! please!  I only wanted to do a simple update -- now I think I've lost all my pictures and video files -- is there a way to get them back??

Try restarting everything and then try to sync or reactivate. Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, reboot your iPad and then try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Option for saving a file as a pdf is not available in scroll down menu

I've been trying to save a file as a pdf by selecting print but pdf does not show up for one of the options in the scroll down menu. All I have to choose from is Fax, hp psc 1200 series and Microsoft XPS Document Writer. I was able to do this back in November but don't know why I can't now. I have Adobe Reader on my computer.
    Thanks if you can help.

Thank you so much! I figured out that somehow my PDF creator was gone. I've downloaded it again.

  • Acrobat Pro X PDF previewing not working in Windows 7 64-bit

    Greetings, all,
The organization I work for recently purchased a volume license for Acrobat Pro X.  We uninstalled Adobe Reader from all of our machines and installed Acrobat Pro X on them.  After the move, the PDF preview handler stopped working.  People commonly link to the URL below, but it has not worked for us.  It appears it only works for the PDF preview handler packaged with Adobe Reader, not the one packaged with Acrobat Pro.
    http://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/index.html
Users are unable to preview PDFs in Windows Explorer and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.  When attempting to preview in Windows Explorer, the following appears:
       This file can't be previewed.
What can we do to get the preview handler working in Windows Explorer (Windows 7 64-bit) and Office Outlook 2007?
    Thanks in advance!

OK. Then do you mean the thumbnails in Windows Explorer? I don't have a solution for that, but there have been several posts about the issue.
Well, thumbnails in Explorer don't work either, but we're not concerned about it.  The preview pane is what we're worried about.  There is a button in the top-right that turns the pane on.  Previewing in Outlook does not work either.
