Pdf printing from 9i

I am in the process of converting a 6i Forms/Reports process wherein a user could print multiple pdf files straight to a printer without having to have each one appear on the screen first. This was done by storing all the report parameters in a table for the multiple reports and then runing a report for each row in the table. Since the process specified for each to be printed to the printer, this worked like a charm. Now, with the company converting to 9i, I have been introduced to the new method of generating reports using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT followed by WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT to bring the pdf to the screen. This works fine and the reports are brought to the screen one at a time in pdf format. What I would like to do is instead of bringing the report to the screen is to have it cycle throught the table just like it did in 6i and print the pdf reports as they are generated -- straight to the printer without displaying. Can someone suggest a method to do this?
I have the following two lines set:
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(v_report_id,REPORT_OTHER,'DESFORMAT=PDF');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(v_report_id,REPORT_OTHER,'DESTYPE=PRINTER');
The result is that the reports run but nothing goes to the printer.

vc_ReportServerJob := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(v_report_id,paramlist_id);
Normally, I would follow the last line with web.show_document. And the global variable above is the path to the network printer.
This actually generates the pdf files but they never make it to the printer.
I'll research the utility but I probably will not be able to implement this on the production server.
