PDF Properties/Document Protection/Security/show details. List differs from Document Restriction Summary.

I have a number of PDFs that have user permissions. When the files are opened in Adobe Reader the document's restriction summary lists differ and the form cannot be used as intended.

I am mystified why the two lists differ and the document when in use seems to be controlled by the list on the right, which takes away some of the user rights.
Is there an explanation for this. I would have thought that as the documents were password protected for permissions such as commenting and signing Adobe Reader could not change this.

Yes, thats right. I used Open Office 3 to generate the pdf. I have also tried using pdftk and Adobe Distiller 5 with the same result.
Your statement implies, the 'Adobe Reader' features cannot be fully utilized without a valid Adobe Acrobat Pro.
This is a document to which I have the source. I have been able to create the pdf with the required set of permissions based on standards. But I am being hassled because I didn't generate it with Adobe Pro! Well, I suppose this must have been a business decision, but its one thats standards contrary and morally low!
Adobe just lost an avid Reader user. I shall circulate my findings within my work and social circles. Thanks to competition and open source, I am sure to find a standards compliant reader without much delay.

IO 229 - Batch for serial number 1234 (BBB) differs from document batch AAA

Hello All,
We use batch management for serialized materials only at our central plant. For all other plants, there is no batch control. Sometimes we need to return materials back to the central plant but with a different batch number.
When we do two step stock transfer 303 / 305, we receive the following error message if we don't use the original batch number.
"IO 229 - Batch for serial number 1234 (BBB) differs from document batch AAA".
However, when we use one step plant to plant stock transfer 301, there is no error message. The batch number is also updated correctly in IQ02.
I wonder if there is any configuration to use 303 / 305 with different batch numbers.

64044 recommends to use 309 to change the batch, which works but this is an additional step.
Currently 1 step plant to plant transfer i.e. 301 doesn't require this additional step. It updates the batch information with no problem.
Is there any configuration option to change the behavior of 305, so that we don't have to do an additional movement?

NIKON D5000 NEF - Lightroom 2.6 and PSE show colors quite differently from what Nikon Software show

With my Nikon D5000 DSLR camera, I took recently photos from small blue flowers. I had set-up my Nikon D5000 to create for every photo both a NEF File and a JPEG File (and had set my camera to use Automatic While Balance).
I noticed that for NEF Files Lightroom 2.6 (and also PSE 7, that uses internally Camera RAW ) shows me the blue colors of the flowers quite differently from what I see with PSE for the jpeg file. It is my impression, that it is in the Jpeg files, that the blue color is close to the reality; and that it is with the NEF Files that Lightroom and PSE show a blue color that is quite different from the reality.
I also looked at the photo files with the NIKON "View Nx" 1.3.0 Software that came with my camera. With "View Nx" the blue colors (both with the NEF file and the Jpeg File) are very vlose that what i see with PSE 7 in the jpeg file (and quite different from what I see with LR and PSE for the .NEF File).
I mentioned this problem to Nikon Support. They suggested, that Nikon Software and Adobe software use different algorithms; and that the Nikon algorithms are better/closer adapted to the Nikon cameras than the more generalized Adobe algorithms that need to support a very large number of cameras.
But ....it is Lightroom that i wish to use to process my NEF Files and PSE that I wish to use to organize my Photos. Can a LR/Camera-RAW expert help me? I would like to find a solution to see with LR and with PSE in my D5000 NEF Photo Files blue colors that are close to the reality and close to what Nikon Software shows me on my PC. Please notice that I am very far away from being a professional and that i will probably not understand complicated explanations.

An additional note, that is perhaps not relevant: I used LR to convert my NEF File into a JPEG File format and looked at the blue in the result. It looks the same as what LR and PSE show me for the .NEF File (and looks different from the jpeg file crreated by the NIKON camera).

I realize, that as a neophit I am an exot among the community of photo-experts and photo-professionals addressed by LR. Therefore the wish that I will now express is perhaps inadequate. But since it is gently, that i express this wish, I am probably allowed to do so......
My wish for a future version of LR, is that LR comes out of the box with a "reasonable" interpretation of the RAW images of most important/widespread modern cameras....without requiring that non-experts like me gets confronted from the very beginning with the need to develop their own default settings.
For this wish, I will formulate a Feature Request.
You might wonder, why a non-expert like me is interested in LR instead of using those Photo-Editing Software (e.g. PSE) that are supposed to address the need of non-experts. Well..... I am coming from the PSE world. I am reasolnably happy with the PSE Organizer....but I hate the complex, inefficient, unfriendli "user-interface" (experts will probably tell: workflow-interface?) of the PSE Editor. Its really a last-century Software. LR is so much more friendly, even for non-experts...within the Library Module, i do not need to switch back and forth between one dialogue-window for each type of change.... nearly all what i need is in that one right-hand pane of the Library module.
I honestly believe, that Adobe should take a serious look at promoting/marketing LR also to the audience of non-experts. That would be a good and attractive additional marketing opportunity for LR.

A picture that was saved in a word document is not showing when I open the document in Pages. Is there a way to recover the image, or a specific type of file that Pages only recognizes?

My professor posted the course syllabus online and at the time, I was using OpenOffice. Whenever I opened the document the image would show perfectly fine, but I switched over to Pages because it had a template I know one of my professors wants a project to be done in. When I opened the same document in Pages to see if it would look the same, the error box popped up and said the image could not be imported and there was a blank box where the picture should have been. My question is, is there any way that I could somehow get the image to show or was it saved in a format that Pages doesn't recognize?

Open the document with Open Office. Select and Copy the image. Paste it into Pages.
If that doesn't work,
Open the document with Open Office. Select and Copy the image. Launch Preview. Press command-N (New document from Clipboard). Save the Preview file as a PDF or JPEG, as appropriate. Insert that in Pages.

Why is the font of text fields different from document-text

I am using forms in my pdf.
I am inserting Text-Fields in the pdf-form.
I set the color and size of text as the same as the document text as calibri 9.
1) Why is the font different between the text-field and document content eventhough both are black font of size 9 and of type calibri. The font in the text-field is more gray and blurry. It doesnt look the same as the text in the rest of the document.
2) why do the document-text font options differ from the text-field font options.
One has only sizes with even numbers like 8, 10, 12. The other has odd numbers also. Why does the calibri font have 2 different size ranges for the text-fields and document-text/content.

Yes you are correct, it is with the setting of the properties.
Where do i report this then if it is not with the SDK but the manual setting of properties.
Also, how do i alter this ussue with the SDK, what are the commands, does it have to be done only by Javascript?

Assignment field in FAGLL03/FBL3N different from document assignment field

Hi
We posted a vendor (say, vandor A) invoice through FB60. There was no input in the "Assignment" field in vendor line item and therefor it is blank in FBL1N.
A part of the invoice amount is to be retained as retention money. To do this we transferred the amount of retention through a special GL created for this purpose (transfer from vendor A to vendor A) such that the retention amount gets posted in a reconciliation account created for retention. Transfer is done through T-Code F-51 and vendor name is given in the "Assignment" field.
However, in FAGLL03 and FBL1N the vendor code (and not the name as was the input) is getting displayed. But while viewing the document we find the vendor name in the assignment field.
We noticed that the field defined as "sort key" for this particular reconciliation account is getting reflected in the assignment field of FAGLL03 / FBL3N. For other reconciliation accounts the input in the assignment field is correctly getting displayed in FAGLL03 / FBL3N

If the fields was correctly customized as a special fields according to
the notes and the reports of note 215798 have been run, the field
should be displayed unless it was not inserted in the original document.
The assignment BSEG-ZUONR will get value from the sort key in vendor
master data. However the BSIS-ZUONR will get value from the GL account
sort key in FS00 (see note 334466).
F1 help on 'Assignment' provides details for customizing:
The assignment number is an additional information reference field in
the line item.
The program can display the account line items sorted according to the
content of this field.
You can either enter the field contents manually, or have the system
define them automatically in the master record via the sort key field.
You define the rules for the layout of the assignment number field in
the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Determine Standard Sorting for Line
Items.
If the account is a reconciliation account, you will need note 676338
If you display multiple split lines, implement note 1237389.
1-In the main screen of FAGLL03 you see at the bottom, list output.
Choose the apropriate layout.
2-For saving this layout , whjen viewing the results of FAGLL03, you
click on settings -> layout -> current.
Then you click with the right mouse button to display the technical
names. Add 1-U_ZUONR and after you can save this layout to be used
in step1.
If the notes are applied and the customizing is set, the field should
be displayed.

InDesign CS6: Is it possible to create a pdf in which the version for printing is different from that on the screen?

Everything is in the title!
The idea is to make a pdf that I send to clients by email, very graphic with colored backgrounds but when printed, the background becomes white to save ink. Similarly to the change of color of the text.
For example, on the screen when I open a pdf I see white text on a blue background but the impression we see black text on white background.

A more flexible solution was given to me on the French forum by Mr. JR Boulay
"We need to generate 2 PDF, one with color and one in black and white. Open the PDF with Acrobat b & w and in the layers palette ask "Import as Layer" color PDF.
Who will come on top. In the Layer Properties it only remains to define the PDF / color layer as "not printable."
It will just be careful that the color PDF has no white background because in PDF it means transparency and thus we see through ...
(Just use black backgrounds at 1% to fix this problem). "

PDF file previewed as an attachment to email differs from original

I have a pdf of a book cover that was created from an InDesign file.
It is a four-color book cover spread. I cropped the file and resaved with a new name to show only the front cover (the right side of the file).
I emailed this to a client and when they opened it, it showed the complete, uncropped version and the colors were missing.
I tested this several times and when the file is actually downloaded, it is correct.
But if it is "previewed" within the email client (AOL & Yahoo), this weird uncropped two-color version appears. I've been working with and emailing pdfs since Acrobat 4 and have never encountered anything like this.
Any idea what's happening?

Hello Bill, Thanks for weighing in. I had an 11X17 pdf provided by a designer that shows a book cover "spread" that was created in InDesign.
The back cover is shown on the left, the front cover on the right. I needed to create a sample for a book that is to be published soon that would include the front cover as the first page of the pdf and the back cover as the last page. I opened the 11X17 pdf in Photoshop CS 6 and made cropped versions of the front and back, saving them as jpgs. In Acrobat I created pdfs of the front and back jpgs and inserted those into the sample. The customer posted this to his website, here:

If you click on the "Coming Soon" link it takes you to the download of the sample.
When users download the file it is fine: a 12 page 880 KB pdf. But if they click and view it on their device, the first page shows the original uncropped version of the cover, without the colors (it shows up with a white background).
The customer complained and I emailed him the pdf I provided after checking to confirm that it was correct. But when I "viewed" it from the message I sent in Firefox using the Yahoo PDF viewer I got the same results (and was both mystified and mortified).
The first page is supposed to look exactly like the thumbnail on the website below "Coming Soon"
I have never seen anything like this in many years of using Photoshop and Acrobat. I'm on Photoshop CS6, Acrobat X, anf Firefox 28.

The customer doesn't want to see the data in the PDF properties like author,title when they do right click => Document Properties while viewing PDF from UCM.
Could anyone suggest the best way of fixing this please?

Are these PDF's being created using Inbound Refinery from some Word Documents .
I think this can be done by un-checking the option "Transfer the properties " from input contents to output .
This is I think one way of achieving the requirement .

MB51 scheduled in background - with result as 'Detailed list'???

Hi All.
I run MB51 (report RM07DOCS) with a predifined variant and get a list of material documents. Then GOTO> Detail list.
Is there a possibility to schedule RM07DOCS with a variant as a background job that would give detail list right away with a predifined layout.

thanks for your answer. The variant for program RM07DOCS already exist and it works fine. I get the output but then i need to go to 'Detail list' where i need to choose specific layout. Layout is not for a variant of RM07DOCS but for a 'Detail list'.
And our user want to get 'Detail list' as final result of the batch job
May be there is any any report that could give sum (by quantity & Loc. curr. amount) for a specific movement type/period of time.

Is there a way to add an existing distribution list to a document?

i created a distribution list with CVI1 and i am trying to add it to a document, NOT via the distribution list but from the document itself.
via the "environment" menu, I can create a new list or change a list in which the document is already written in: but i cannot add an existing list from the document.
any idea?

i am aware of that: that i why i asked this question. i need to upload distribution lists to be added to documents and i did not find a way to add the documents to the list (cvi2) in a recording: the amount of document i can add is limited to the amount of lines i see on the screen;
my final goal is to add existing lists to documents or documents to lists, via upload (excel sheet or txt file) LSMW or other methods!

How the files are decreasing from RBS storage after some time i delete docs from document library, where shld I check the settings for this?

I created a web application and configured rbs storage ,
I uploaded documents (for ex: 18 number)
after uploaded documents , and observed the RBS storage folder, number of files are increasing (39 number) , its working fine
and also I run the querys to check the rows increasing or not , (when I upload new doc rows are increased its fine also)

but when I delete some docs from document library ,
1)the doc itself deleted from document library
2)when I check the rbs storage there is no number of files are decreased(its still 39 files ), its same as before doc deleted from doc library
after some time I found the number of files are decreasing from RBS storage folder in sql server,
here I want to know the how the files are decreasing from RBS storage after some time, where shld I check the settings for this? and how I control on it
here how I know the settings for cleaning up orphan BLBOS how these deleted BLOB

1. WHen you delete the file from Sharepoint, it is still present in Recycle bin. This is a default setting in sharepoint for 30 days. Once files are deleted fro Recycle bin, it can also be delete from RBS
2. There is a RBS cleanup job which deletes files from RBS. for more info check

Acrobat (Pro or Standard) does not apply a "default" protection. It appears that someone or some other process has applied protection.

PDF Icons used to Show Preview of Document - Now it shows PDF Icon

I am using Adobe Acrobat 8 on a 64bit Windows Vista Home Premium Operating System. I just bought this computer and installed Adobe Acrobat 8 on it. On my other two computers (one vista, one xp) the normal Adobe Acrobat File Icons are changed to show a preview of the first page of the document. I work a lot with long lists of Pdf files, and the preview feature has been a great help. I am wondering if there is a setting on my new computer that I need to change to replicate this function that I have been enjoying on my other two computers.

Connecting DVR to Airport Extreme for remote viewing of my home 16 camera system. I have tried for 2 days and still stuck. I have secured a dyndns account and have had no luck for 2 days. A detailed list for an amateur would be much appreciated.

I have been trying for 2 days to connect my home camera dvr to the internet through my Airport Extreme. I have read several previous posts on this topic and have not been able to get this completed. I secured a Dyndns account and registered a host domain. I am not clear on which ip address to use and really which is which. Seems like the ip address for the router is different from the ip address that showed up when I secured my dyndns host name. I used the one that was listed on the signup that staed " your ip address is". I have read up on port forwarding and watched UTube and still no luck. Can someone walk me through a steo by step process on how to get this completed? I want to be able to watch my cameras from my iphone, ipad, macbook pro and the internet. I do have a manual that came with the DVR but it seems everything is setup for Windows and a different router, seems like the AE router had different settings. I can usually figure these things out eventually but I am really stuck this time. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
