PDF Reader not printing after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After installing the Windows 8.1 update, the PDF Reader doesn't print. Documents don't even show up in the queue. I'm able to print from desktop apps (i.e., Photoshop, Word, etc.) just fine so it appears to be strictly a Reader issue.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
Please locate to Windows Charm menu, click Settings, change PC settings, and find Devices option, then remove all printers in Devices.
Following this, please try printing through PDF Reader.

What I would do is use ProcMon to find out why that Event entry was written. Then I imagine I would get a clue about a .dll which might be involved, which hopefully might be registerable. Since IE9 there have been new .dll involving printing
which have not been reflected in any of our repair tools. However, instead of modifying our old scripts to reflect this fact, I have been advocating, so far unsuccessfully, that Microsoft create a proper IE Repair tool, one which does not rely on such
unreliable techniques. E.g. a better method of repairing would be to have it done by a proper troubleshooter (an .msdt file) but so far it seems nothing has been done in that way for these symptoms (again, assuming the cause is registry corruption
and not simple interference from now incompatible third-party programming--the fix for that would be to identify and remove the incompatibilities.) For example.

Hi.....my laserjet 1536dnf mfp was working perfectly with win 8 pro....then I installed win 8.1 pro and now the computer ,which is part of a network,can not communicate with the scanner of the printer--it prints just fine. On another computer (running win 7 ) on the same network, the scanner and all other printer functions work just fine.
I have tried installing the latest drivers from HP......scanner still not "communicating" with computer.....also temporarily disabled firewall.....please help...all the best -David G (gossat)

The FN keys are controlled by Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. I think you have forgotten to install these tools
You should check the Toshiba page again and download both tools. Start with installation of Value Added Package then restart your notebook. After this install Flash Cards Support Utility. Once again restart and all FN keys should work properly now.

My HP LaserJet 1536 Scanner will not work after upgrading to Windows 10

I just upgraded to Windows 10, and now the scanner will not work, although I can still print. I downloaded the latest driver, but this does not seem to help. The error message I get states that scanner communication cannot be established. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

I would start with the simple, have you tried just restarting the computer? Have you made sure your computer has all of it's windows updates? How can I tell if my computer is up to date? Most products do have updated software available for Windows 10, did you install the correct driver?HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver I've also seen a few posts that say the Windows 8.1 driver will work for Windows 10 as well, so you could try that too.  HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. I recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, if it doesn't fix it automatically let me know what errors or messages you receive.  Do you know if you are able to scan using Paint? (It's the same for Windows 10, from what I've been told)Right-click the Start button () in the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type ...Click Paint in the results.Click File, and then click From scanner or camera.Select your printer, click OK, and then click Scan. Scanner of HP 8500 A909g does not work after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10

After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and subsequent upgrade of printer software, the scanner functionality did not work. When I tried to uninstall the printer software I got the message "HP uninstaller has stopped working". After another upgrade of printer software the scanner was still not working. How can I get around this problem? Update:

Not sure whether it is possible to uninstall, though (don't want to try since it is working).

I had the same problem with my Officejet Pro 8600 All-in-One scanner, sfter upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver, the problem is solved. You can look up the model of your printer on HP's support site and download it from there. Apparently, not all printers are compatible with Windows 10. In that case, they recommend you buy a new printer. ;-)

Keyboard wireless key not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

I am having hp pavilion dv6-6165tx notebook, where keyboard having a wireless button that turns ON and OFF all wireless devices, After upgrading to windows 8.1, HP Connection Manager is not getting installed, as well as Key is not working, key color turns red and white but no action is performed.
Kindly suggest me some solution.
Note: HP Doesn't provide drivers for windows 8/8.1 ONLY WINDOWS 7 for hp pavilion dv6-6165tx.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-6165tx Notebook and the Wireless keyboard not working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot the keyboard.
The HP Connection Manager is something that is for Windows 7 not Windows 8.1. I would uninstall this from your Notebook. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating. It has a troubleshooting tool in this.
Make sure all your updates have been completed. I would try restarting my Notebook a few times.
If that does not help I would uninstall the keyboard from the Device manager.

Ethernet LAN not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, my Ethernet LAN is no longer working. Wireless LAN connectivity is OK. I have run the HP Support Assistant and downloaded the drivers for 8.1. Hovever, I do not see a 8.1 driver listed for the Ethernet LAN.

Bluetooth Not Working after upgrading to Windows 8.1

That is very interesting, because I didn't know of anyone who upgraded to W8.0 with a Ralink wireless card with the BT 3.0 radio that got the BT to work at all.
We tried the W7 drivers, and they didn't work.
That is why you don't see a W8 Ralink BT driver for the bluetooth on your PC's support and driver page amongst the other 11 drivers listed.
The Ralink 3.0 version of BT is not supported in W8.
While somehow the BT has worked in W8 for you, I'm afraid your luck has run out.
Unless by some fluke, HP installed a card with the BT 4.0 radio on your model...
You can try this W8 driver for the Ralink card with the BT 4.0 radio, but don't get your hopes up.

HP P1006 DOES NOT PRINT after upgrading to a Macbook Pro 15 i7

HP P1006 does not work after upgrading to a Macbook Pro 15 i7 2,6 with Mac OS 10.6.3
I have used Time Machine to migrate from my previous MBP 15 C2D.
I've tried to remove the printer in system pref. and install it again.
The installer works fine but close to the end of the installation a new app is starting: HP Laserjet Firmware Update Utility, which won't start and just stays jumping at the dock, although the HP Installer succeeds to finish installing.
So when i try to print, the printer stays idle.
I have tried to download the installer from HP official website. Same story.
Also tried to do Permission Repair in Disk Utility
Please, if anyone knows a solution, help!

You've mentioned that you already tried installing the drivers from the HP website. If the Windows 10 driver that you have downloaded does not work, I'd recommend trying the Windows 8.1 driver (the operating systems have the same core functionality, so the Windows 8.1 driver works fine on Windows 10). You can also try uninstalling the software you do have, and re-installing using the HP Printer Install Wizard. The Printer Install Wizard, can fix many software issues automatically. Dolby Home Theater v4 not working after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi there, I just upgraded to Wndows 10 Home from Windows 8.1; everything went smoothly except for the fact that Dolby Home Theater v4 does not work. I had to reinstall it using the .msi file found in the Realtek Audi folders. I chose v4 over any of the other versions because I like how I can tune the equalizer to my liking and different uses. Anyways, the regular audio works and Dolby is turned on but there is no activity appearing on the equalizer and my music does not change once adjusted. Had this problem when doing an optional audio driver update in the past when I was running 8.1. I do not have the option to rollback the driver after upgrading to Windows 10. Does anyone have a solution to this issue or know what the correct Realtek driver is to make Dolby work? This is one of my favorite features of my laptop and I really want it up and running again! According to the available list of supported drivers for your monitor, there is currently no Windows 10 software published at the moment. In the meantime, I recommend following the steps in this document on HP Products - Where do I find Windows 10 drivers and software for my model? My Laptop configuration is 8GB Ram,Intel i7 processor and 4GB Nvidia Graphics which is more than enough for running games like Batman Arkham, Portal, Skyrim etc. These games used to worked smoothly when I had windows 8.1, but after upgrading to windows 10 these games are not working/working very slowly. I understand the touch screen on your notebook is not detected after updating to Windows 8.1.
This would be the best place to start: Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues in Windows 8. This is a great document that covers touchscreen issues from start to finish. Do not be alarmed that it states the document pertains to TouchSmart PC's, as the steps are the same.
It would also help to know which product you are using so I can give you more detailed information, such as driver downloads.
