PDF repeating first page

We have a printer in the system that is connected to about 5 public computers. It seems to work fine except for when printing PDFs from Windows 7 computers. It will print the first page multiple times, sometimes it won't stop until the printer is manually stopped. Anyone else experience this issue? I have completely reinstalled Windows and used both the HP universal print driver and the print driver from the included disk and the problem persists randomly.

PDF document first page is blank when executing in background

Hi,
I am creating spool before displyaing report output by using GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS and NEW PAGE PRINT ON option and displaying report header and report final internal table. calling NEW PAGE PRINT OFF
finally i am sending mail, by using SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 function module in foreground executing and background execution.
When we execute in foreground i am recieveing mail and pdf is perfect.
when we execute in background i am recieveing mail. But when i opend the pdf document in mail, PDF doucment first page is balnk and second page onwards i am able to see the report output
why the PDF first page is blank when i execute the same report with same variant in back ground.
Please help me in this issue.

Web page Print Save as PDF--only first page formatted correctly

Hello,
Whenever I try to save a web page as a PDF file, the first page formats nicely, but the subsequent pages print with bigger font and the text runs off the right-side edge of the page. If I print just page 2, then page 2 prints nicely. I can later use Acrobat Pro to stitch the PDF together page by page, but that is a pain. I have played around with various page set up settings to no avail. I'm using Firefox 18.0.1 and Mac OS 10.8.2.
Any ideas?

The PDF add-on that seems to work is PDF Download 3.0.0.1 from Apple's website. It seems to process webpages via a website to PDF. A sample webpage is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clandestine_HUMINT. However, I've run into the same problem on others that seem to create long (many page) PDF files. I also tried it with CUPS-PDF 2.4.6 with the same problem. I believe the CUPS-PDF application uses the same CUPS standard built into OSX?
Anyway, please bear with me. I am not kidding about being fairly new to this whole Mac thing. How do I find the crash log?

CFPDF Merge directory repeating first page

Hi All,
I got a very strange problem. I am trying to merge several PDFs (this happens with 2 or 200). They are all similar 1 page PDF files that were generated with CFPDFFORM.
When I try to merge them together using
<cfpdf action="merge" destination="scoreCardsPrint\scoreCardsPrint_#URL.eventid#_#URL.round#.pdf" directory="#tempDirectory#" order="name" overwrite="yes">
In the resulting file, I get the correct number of pages, but every page is exactly the same as the first.
Any ideas/suggestions?

I cannot replicate this with a very simple test case on either CF8 or CF9 (it always helps if you specify which CF version you're on, btw).
Can you pls post some simple & stand-alone code that replicates what you're seeing? The repro case ought to be the barest minimum code you need to replicate/demonstrate the problem. This could also help you identify what it is about your code - if it's a code thing - causes the problem. It should be the first thing you do when trying to troubleshoot an issue.
It is probably also relevant to post the exact sort of CF install you have, and on what OS.

HT5557 Is it possible to display the title of the book or PDF when viewing them in the library? I can only see a title if my PDF's first page contains the title.

I would like to be able to display the title of the PDF or book while in library mode. In iTunes, you can click and hold on the song to get the full title information. I would like to see the same feature in iBooks if it doesn't already exist.

You can omit the title altogether in the URL (together with the succeeding slash, of course). For example, my own podcast URL in the Store is

but this works perfectly well:

Indeed you can even put your own title:

Font issue when creating PDF from web page with Acrobat 8

I have a group of documents created with html/css that i am converting to pdf. Everything works slick except for some reason every HTML page that spans more than one printable page in the PDF the first page body text looks bold, the rest of the text (on the subsequent pages) is not. I have 15 documents linked together and its doing it for everyone one, first page looks bold rest of pages not.
I have checked all the font attributes in both the pdf and the html, there is nothing set to bold and all fonts have the exact same settings...
Does anyone know what is going on? I am pretty green with Acrobat but not new to web tech.
What am I missing here?
Also when printed it looks fine, no issues, issues only in screen view...

It may be that the page sizes are varying and you are seeing a zoom affect. Try setting the size to a specific value and see if it looks the same. That's a guess anyway.

First Page prints fine, all other pages print reduced

I’ve been working with one of our users on a printing problem she is having with PDFs.
The problem is that when printing PDFs, the first page prints fine, but any subsequent pages print at a reduced scale.
If you set the print job to print only pages 2 – to end of doc, Page 2 becomes the first page printed and it prints fine (where before it didn’t when you printed pages 1 – to end of doc) but pages 3 – to end of doc print at the reduced scale.
I have tried to change her print options from Shrink OverSized Pages to each of the following:
Actual Size
Fit
Custom Scale (we’ve tried printing at 100% as well as a number of reduced options, but then all this does is make the first page smaller and smaller)
I’ve googled for help, and haven’t found anything that resolved the problem.
I checked her version of Adobe Reader and she has the same version (XI) as another user who doesn’t have this problem when she prints. I’ve checked the other user's settings to see if her printer settings were different than the user that is having problems – and they aren’t.
I’ve completely uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader and this hasn’t resolved the problem either.
I've tried printing to a different printer - and it still happens.
Any thoughts?

a) The size of the pages of PDF which you are printing. LETTER
b) Does all pages of the PDF are of same size? YES
c) What is the page size set in the Printer and what is the actual size of the paper which you have put in the tray? LETTER
d) Does this problem also happens on the virtual printer which you might have on your system (Try either Microsoft MPS Document writer or Adobe PDF Printer) No VIRTUAL PRINTERS

My firefox downloads print first page correctly, remainder are outside page borders

My firefox, when I want to download to printer or to PDF, prints first page ok, remainder have large font causing only left part of page printed.

Looks like you have '''Print Background (color & images)''' enabled on for all three printers you have installed, Adobe PDF included. ''I see those settings in your More system details.'' That's why you are getting the grey (monochrome Laserjet) or blue background, but that should be printed on the first page, too.

I am unable to print PDF's using either Adobe Reader or Safari. In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my Cannon printer that says, "/usr.libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed". In Safari, I can only print the first page of a PDF.

To try to resolve this problem, I have done the following actions.
1 - I have run Disk Warrior.
2 - I have repaired permissions.
3 - I have deleted all plist that are either Cannon or Adobe.
4 - I have downloaded and installed the lastest versions of Adobe Reader and the Cannon printer drivers.
I am still unable to print PDF's.
In Safari, I can print only the first page. In a multipage PDF, Safari only seems to recognize the first page.
In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my printer: "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed".
Any help would be greatly appreicated!

Quit Safari.
Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
☞ If running OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.

No data found in report csv or pdf output on first page load

No data found in report csv output on first page load. Report shows up on page, but no data found in csv or pdf output. I always need to submit the page and then it shows data in downloads. The page contains a form (read-only) with a report that references 4 page items by using something like the following:

Sounds like a classic session state issue.
You need to populate you page items using page rendering computations to ensure they're set to session state.
Or if the download is triggered from a button press, you need to ensure those page items are submitted to session state, perhaps via a PL/SQL action.

Can I generate the first page in a PDF file To a image (jpg/png..) file without Adobe Acrobat Profes

I was developing an desktop application with C#.NET2.0
I would like to insert a PDF file to a repository and then generate the thumbnail of first page to a (jpg/png) file and store to the database for preview as the Icon in my application.(Like to Window Explorer)
I have read around the boards and found that the machine must be installed with only the full of Acrobat Professional, right?
If the appliction have to be run to a lot of client. Do I need to buy the lecense to all machines? Or Are there the other ways?

If you want to use the Acrobat SDK, which is a tool for automating
Acrobat, you need to buy and install Acrobat on each client.
Adobe's PDF Library, which doesn't require Acrobat and has a different
(negotiated) licensing model based on royalties might be a better fit.
In either case, this would be written in C/C++.

Displaying more than the first page of a pDF

My firm posts pdf's online for users to access. One of the Ipads in the firm can view all the pages of any document. The others only access the first page which is a problem. What's strange is that the one that can view the file's entirety does not have a PDF viewer - no Good Reader or even ibooks. Basically it's factory settings because it's user isn't very active. I've got two Ipads to compare and for anything that seems related (general and safari) the settings are the same between the one that works and one that doesn't. The one that is working is 3G and the non-working one is not. Nither is an ipad 2. (Aside - Does that make them Ipad 1?)
What else

Correction to my earlier post- they are both 3G so that can't really be the problem source either.

Extracting the first page of multiple PDFs & saving them as jpegs.

First post - hope its in the right place.
I work in Publishing, and I have been given the following task - I have about 400 ebooks, all in pdf format, and my task is to extract the cover from every one of them (which is the first page of every pdf) and export them all as separate jpeg files (file names can remain exactly the same - ie, the name of the pdf book will be the same as the jpeg file). So I will end up with 400 ebooks and 400 jpegs of their covers.
Anyone have any idea how to do this ?

I have looked at batch processing in acrobat, but the option to extract the first page of multiple pdf files is not one of the options. there is an option to create your own script which im guessing is my best bet ? (hence why i have posted my question here) Though I don't have the first clue about this. Have done some google searches, and some people have created similar things, but I cant seem to get them to work.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

ok, i have found a set of acrobat batch sequence and come across the following :
Batch sequence name: Extract Pages to Folder.sequ. Task: For each file from the selected files, extract each of its pages and save the extracted pages to a particular folder.

looks like i need something like this, but tried the above earlier, and couldnt get it to work (prob cause I didnt replace the words exactly correctly). I am guessing that i am entering this in the correct place though (ie - create new sequence, and got into the script editor box)

How can I make the first page of a PDF load before the whole file on a website

I work for a company that loads they brochures in PDF format on their website and the PDF's were formerly created in Indesign and converted.
When the files were viewed on the website, the first page loaded right away while the others loaded. Now I have created an interactive PDf with buttons in Fireworks, but when I convert the file to PDF and load it on the web, the first page does not load until the whole file loads which is about 5MB.
My employer likes the buttons and interactivity, but does not want teh customer sitting there for a few minutes looking at an empty screen while the whole file loads to view.
Does anyone know what I mean? I could use some help.
