PDF Report - Fonts not displayed

Some of the PDF reports which display correctly, after being edited, don't display the text in the output PDF. This issue is happening when run as a concurrent request in Oracle Apps 11i, but in local machine, the PDF report works fine.
This is happening with one developer user, but for the other it works fine.
Any clue?

In one PC were Report Builder is installed, we see "COURIER NEW - WESTERN" font and the RDF created / saved in that font works fine on server. I don't know if this helps!

  • Font not displaying on Reports Output (RHEL 5) for 10g

    Hi, I know I've posted a question in the past about a font not displaying on Report Output for my Arial, Arial Narrow, and Courier New fonts. I worked with Oracle Support and found that Metalink Note#261879.1 fixed my problem with those 3 fonts. I ran the scripts and now that part works great.
    However, I have one font "ARIALUNI.TTF" that will not work. This is out specific barcode font we use. I've pushed it on Linux from my Windows by pushing it as a binary file to the ORACLE_HOME/guicommon/tk/admin/TTF directory. I even put it in the directory for TTF on Metalink Notoe 261829.1 and let it create the files, but it still doesn't find it when I ran a report that uses this font.
    I tried using font subsetting via the uiprint.ali and make a reference but it still doesn't seem to work.
    Is there something I'm missing that would cause any of these not to work. I thought maybe some files had to be created under the guicommon/tk/admin/AFM file directory but I'm not sure.
    I just want to have my 2 or 3 reports that use this barcode to work. Once I get them, I'm done and all my font issues are resolved. Any help is appreciated.
    Chris

    They are probably a very old Type 1 font. Try checking the dates on the font files. Your best bet would be to get the OpenType versions of those fonts and install them.

  • Report is not displayed on the browser

    We have a 9iAs Oracle application(built in developer6i(forms and reports) patch12).The database version is Oracle 9.2.0.6.0.My problem is I have a report that is called from the form. If the print_receipt = 'Y', display the report.I have also an afterreport trigger that updates this print_receipt to 'N'.Somehow the afterreport trigger fires before the report is display thus giving a blank pdf output on the browser.My user has new pc and new operating system, Windows XP but they're still using Novell Netware for signing on to the network. Before she does not have any problem displaying the report, she was using Windows NT4 and Novell Netware for signing on to the network.Is there any limitations in Windows XP that interferes with the report? Is this known problem in report's afterreport triggers?Is there a workaround here so the report can be displayed?Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
    Try this may be it will help.
    Go to Iexplorer property - settings - Change (Check for newer version of stored pages to Automatically.
    This error is coming because the report runs twice, so the after report trigger is fired before anything is displyed & hance your report is not displayed.
    Thanks,

    If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
    You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • CF8 - pdf files do not display in a browser

    We are setting up the multiple instance capability using jrn4 with cf8,
    with apache 2.x on Redhat linux 5.X.
    For the when browsing to the main cfusion instance I can see pdf files
    but if I go to the document root of an instance, pdf files are not displayed.
    Infact it hoses whichever browser you are using.
    I can see cfm, txt, html files.
    Anyone have an idea what is happening?
    paulw

    I tried your recommendation of turning off coldfusion and it
    appears the problem of not being able to display
    a pdf file has nothing to do with coldfusion or with apache.
    The problem appears to be how we are mounting the documentroot on a linux server
    from a windows file server using a cifs mount.
    It seems to handle text files properly but not pdf files (it may have problems
    with other types of files), perhaps it is an issue with end of line or end of
    file which is confusing things.
    This is the mount command we are using
    //win_file_server/xyz     /data/xyz          cifs   user,ro,credentials=credentials,uid=48,gid=48,file_mode=0755,dir_mode=0755
    The credentials file contains
    username=some_name
    password=xxxxxxxx
    uid=apache
    gid=apache
    filemode=0660
    dirmode=0770
    nosuid
    nosetuids
    It works file if the documentroot is on a mounted unix file system, but not windows.
    Does anyone know if mounting a windows file system can work properly?
    (Perhaps we are missing some additional settings).

  • Custom fonts not displayed when PDF is generated using 10g Report builder

    Hi
    I have two fonts , abc.ttf and def.ttf which I have placed under C:\Windows\fonts. One of these displays a logo and the other displays barcode
    I have added the environment variable REPORTS_PATH which has value C:\Windows\fonts. I have also added entries for PDF Subset in uifont.ali.
    But still when I run the report and out to a PDF file, the fonts are not displayed. They are remapped to some other fonts.
    When I check PDF document properties in Adobe reader, under fonts tab it says
    abc
       Type:Type1
       Encoding:ANSI
       Actual Font: Adobe Sans MM
       Actual Font Type : Type 1
    def
       Type:Type1
       Encoding:ANSI
       Actual Font: Adobe Sans MM
       Actual Font Type : Type 1
    uifont.ali entries
    [ PDF:Subset ]
    # This example shows how to subset Arial True Type font into the PDF file
    # Arial = "Arial.ttf"
    # The True Type font files must exist in any one of the folders specified in
    # REPORTS_PATH.
    abc= "abc.ttf"
    def="def.ttf"
    In Oracle reports builder, I am able see these fonts and select them in my report layout
    I am able to see the fonts in Preview/screen output while running RDFs in my reports builder, but PDF output doesnt display these fonts
    Is there anything else which is required to do ? Do I need to restart the machine after environment variable is added ?

    In one PC were Report Builder is installed, we see "COURIER NEW - WESTERN" font and the RDF created / saved in that font works fine on server. I don't know if this helps!

  • CRXIR2 image from blob field and some fonts not displaying in PDF export

    I used CRXIR2 developer edition to create a report linked to a SQL 2000 database table.  There is a blob field containing a JPG image that is different for each record in the table.  I am using VB.NET code with ASP.NET 2.0 to programmatically change the temp file to a local folder for easy cleanup, open this crystal report with the 11.5.3700.0 version of the assemblies, set the datasource to a DataTable extracted from the DB, and then export to a PDF file.
    The code for creating the PDF is:
            Dim TempRoot As String = MapPath(".") & "\temp\"
            Dim oldTmp As String = System.Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("TMP")
            System.Environment.SetEnvironmentVariable("TMP", TempRoot)
            Dim objReport As New ReportDocument()
            objReport.Load(MapPath(".") & "\CReports\" & ReportName)
            For lnX As Integer = 0 To objReport.Database.Tables.Count - 1
                    objReport.Database.Tables(lnX).SetDataSource(resultTable)
            Next
            Dim objDestinationOptions As New DiskFileDestinationOptions()
            Dim objExportOptions As New ExportOptions()
            Dim objFormatTypeOptions As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.PdfRtfWordFormatOptions()
            Dim pdfName As String = "test.pdf"
            objDestinationOptions.DiskFileName = MapPath(".") & "\temp\" & pdfName
            objExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat
            objExportOptions.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile
            objExportOptions.ExportDestinationOptions = objDestinationOptions
            objReport.Export(objExportOptions)
            objReport.Dispose()
            System.Environment.SetEnvironmentVariable("TMP", oldTmp)
    When I run the site locally in VS2008, everything works fine and a PDF contains the graph and all the fonts are correct.
    However, when I run the exact same site from a web server running IIS6, the PDF generated does not have the image, and some of the fonts are substituted (all of the necessary fonts are installed on the IIS server).
    Please help!

    Hi Don,
    I am able to see the image and export from the CR Designer on my machine running XP.  However, I installed the designer on our IIS server running Server 2003, and the image does not show in the designer preview on that machine.
    I found another forum thread that you are involved in (1902383) that seems to be dealing with this exact issue, and it looks like there may not be a resolution.
    I am going to try a different route - instead of pulling in the SQL Image field directly, I am going to write it out to a temporary file and pull it in by altering the graphic location of the picture object in the report.
    I'll let you know how that works.
    Pete

  • FREE3OF9 barcode font not displaying in Firefox's new built-in PDF viewer

    I have a PHP web app that uses FPDF (v1.53) and the FREE3OF9 barcode font to dynamically generate a PDF which includes a barcode in it. The font is imported into the document using the FPDF AddFont method (http://fpdf.org/en/doc/addfont.htm). In versions of Firefox prior to 19, the PDF opened in a new tab, was displayed by the Adobe Acrobat plugin, and the barcode showed up perfectly fine.
    Now that Firefox 19.0 is using its own built-in PDF viewer, the barcode no longer displays at all -- there's just a blank spot where it should be. It continues to display fine in IE and Chrome. How I can get the font to display correctly in the newest version of Firefox?
    I understand that I can change the Action for the PDF content type to 'Use Adobe Reader' in the options, but I'd prefer to fix this so that my users don't have to change their browser settings. Or at the very least, it would be nice if they could only change the Action for PDFs originating from my site and not globally.
    Thanks.

    You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.

  • Placed PDF (with embedded fonts) reports fonts not available!

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me why Illustrator CS (I know it's old) should report Fonts missing when the PDF I have placed has definately got the fonts embedded.
    The PDF was made in InDesign CS4 using the default [High Quality Print] setting. If I look at the properties of the created PDF it lists all the fonts as being embedded subsets.
    I know I can get around this by outlining the text but I shouldn't have to.
    Thanks
    Simon Kemp

    So, Illustrator will always require the fonts present and will disregard any embedded fonts?
    That's pretty much it. Remember: Illustrator is not a PDF viewing program. It wants to let you edit the document. PDF is essentially a document exchange format and not really intended for editable content (beyond the extent Acrobat enables). Font designers want you to buy their products if you're going to be doing anything other than reading the text.
    The link-place-flatten trick is good to have in your bag of tricks, but I am not alone in recommending you do not blindly outline all type. Aside from making it nearly impossible for an output service provider to make a possibly necessary last-minute correction, you will not get the proper hinting with very small type. Moreover, if you're dealing with a large amount of text, you'll end up with huge files.

  • Some Cyrillic fonts not displaying in Preview PDF

    Hi,
    Times New Roman (and potentially other fonts) are not displaying in Cyrillic for me. Arial and other fonts work fine.
    When I copy the blank-appearing section into Word, I can see the text.
    Has anyone else had this issue?

    I have some doubts that your problem is really the same as the big 10.6.7 one being reported, e.g.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2792142?tstart=0
    but you never know.
    You might want to check with your agency to see if they are doing anything different on their end.

  • Report does not display correctly when exported to adobe

    Post Author: mgisonda
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hopefully someone can help me. I am currently running Crystal Reports profession version 10. I have applied service pack 1 and recently service pack 6. I am having a problem with the display of a report within adobe. My report is a bit complex. It is a 8.5x11 one page landscape report. It is set up in a grid format with multiple lines and boxes drawn on it. Here is the report information: Report Definition----
    Number of Database Fields:   144     Number of On-Demand Formulas:   40     UFLs in use:   None     Page N of M Used:   No     File Format Schema:   10.2.0    I created the report using CR developer. I use the report within a web project. The user requests the report and it returns to the user, an adobe file of the report. However, this is where I am having trouble. On my local development machine, the report displays fine. In CR developer, the report displays fine. When I export the report to Adobe from the CR Developer, it exports fine. BUT when I run the report from my web site, the adobe file that is returned is broken up over 42 pages. What seems to be actually happening is the return adobe file seems to think that the page size is 2in X 4in.. Where it got that, I don't know.The server running IIS is a windows server 2003. It has adobe 8.0 reader on it. I also have Crystal 10 Server Distribution loaded on it. And I have loaded CR10 Service pack 6 on that as well. Below is the web code that is used to display the report:Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared'Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReportsImports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.EngineImports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportClassPublic Class PrintInspectionLayout    Inherits System.Web.UI.Page   Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load        Dim mNotInSpringDesign As String        Dim mPartType As String        mNotInSpringDesign = Request.QueryString("NotInSpringDesign")        If mNotInSpringDesign = "TRUE" Then            mStockCode = Request.QueryString("StockCode")            lblNotInSpringDesign.Text = "Stock Code #: " & mStockCode & " does not exist in Spring Design."            lblNotInSpringDesign.Visible = True            Response.Write("<br><br><br><br><br><font color='blue'><center><a href='SpringDesignWildCardSearch.aspx'>Go To Search Page</a></center></font>")        Else            mStockCode = Request.QueryString("StockCode")            Dim pList As ParameterValues = New ParameterValues            Dim paramName, paramValue As String            Dim pV As ParameterDiscreteValue = New ParameterDiscreteValue            Dim Report As ReportDocument= New ReportDocument            Dim expOpts As ExportOptions = New ExportOptions            Dim pdfRtfWordFormatOpts As PdfRtfWordFormatOptions = expOpts.CreatePdfRtfWordFormatOptions            Dim expFormatOpts As ExportFormatOptions = expOpts.ExportFormatOptions            expOpts.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat            mPartType = Request.QueryString("PartType")            'SELECT THE INSPECTION LAYOUT TYPE TO PRINT            Select Case mPartType                Case Is = "C"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/CompressionLayout.rpt"))                    'Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/PCAR.rpt"))                Case Is = "E"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/ExtensionLayout.rpt"))                Case Is = "T"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/TorsionLayout.rpt"))                Case Is = "W"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/WasherLayout.rpt"))                Case Is = "F"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/FreeFormLayout.rpt"))                Case Else            End Select            pV.Value = mStockCode            pList.Add(pV)            Report.DataDefinition.ParameterFields("StockCode").ApplyCurrentValues(pList)            Response.ClearContent()            Response.ClearHeaders()            Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf"            Report.ExportToHttpResponse(expOpts, Response, False, "")            Report.Close()        End If    End Sub    Any ideas as to the solution? Hi Paul
    You're more likely to get an answer to this if you post in the UNIX forum.
    By the looks of it, you may have a problem with your fonts.
