PDF report Page Size

I am using BI publisher in APEX to generate PDF report. Data is displayed only on paper size 8.5 X 11 regardless any paper size I select i.e. Letter 8.5x11, Legal 8.5x14, Tabloid 11x17, Custom 8.5x20.

You need to specify the paper size in the RTF template. Iif you are using RTF templates? If not its an APEX issue and needs to be addressed by them

  • How to allow domain users to customize  Adobe PDF  printer page size in Printer Preferences

    Hi
I am able to customize  Adobe PDF  printer page size in Printer Preferences in admin login but not able to customize  Adobe PDF  printer page size in domian users login...
can I have a solution to customize  Adobe PDF  printer page size in domin user login

WOW! I was amazed to see that within minutes of posting my initial thread, I tried something that works.
Apparently, the only way is will actually convert is if you select the regular Print option in the File tab. Then, change the Printer to Adobe PDF & the Paper Size to 11x17. It also worked for 36"x48" becuase I created a custom size named "Poster", so I changed the paper size to Poster & it worked!
I hope this helps someone. I searched for an existing forum on this issue off & on for MONTHS before creating this thread. If anyone has any suggestions why the Adobe PDF tab /PDF Maker wouldn't work, I'd like to know.

  • How to get the Pdf's page size?

    Hi,
Anyone can tell me how to get the pdf's page size with js in acrobat?
    Regards
    Goldbridge

The page size will not always necessarily conform to a standard size such as A4 - PDFs can be defined at any abstract size a user wants. Having a function that only output standard sizes would greatly limit its ability, so it was left up to the user to calculate whether or not the returned rectangle is a standard size as that satisfies many more workflows than the opposite method.

  • Setting Report Page Size in Ecplise Designer 1.0

    Hello all,
I am trying to use Crystal Reports for Eclipse V1.0, and when using the ReportDesigner, I can't find a way to set the size of the report page I am laying out.  by default, it seems to be an 8.5 x 11 inch page, but it defaults to Landscape mode.  Anyone know how to change the layout of a report to be Portrait format?
    Thanks,
    Matt

Upgrade to version 2 and Test again.

  • Change report page size dynamically -URGENt

    Hi,
I am developing one report for super market, and as per the req. of super market I want to control the page size during the runtime only.
    Pleas help me regarding this.
    Thanns in advance.
    Sharad

You can't actually change the page size.
But there are some things may help in this respect.
In the report layout you can have some frames that include different layouts for the same data and print those frames conditionally.
Or you may use two different .rdf for two different page sizes.

  • Printing to PDF (custom page size) from AutoCAD Won't Work Anymore

The DWG to PDF driver provided with AutoCAD 2013 will not save my artwork to a high enough resolution for me to use.  See attached screen shots of the PDF's printed by AutoCAD's DWG to PDF driver.
The only PDF print driver that I have found that will is the Adobe PDF driver provided with my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro software.  See attached screen shot of the PDF printed by the Adobe PDF driver.  HOWEVER, I can only print to a standard paper size and I MUST print to a custom page size.  When I try printing to a custom page size it will no longer let me save the PDF.  It simply skips the save window.  It used to work fine up until this past week, but when I came into work on Monday morning it stopped working.  I cannot for the life of me figure out why it won't work now!
DWG to PDF set to Maximum Quality (400 DPI)
DWG to PDF set to Custom 1200DPI
Adobe PDF set to Custom 4000DPI

Try opening the DWG file in AutoCAD 2013 and changing its file format to an older version of Autocad (i.e, 2010/2011/2012).

  • PDF Printer Page Size Limitation

I have been creating documents in Microsoft Publisher 2007 & have been trying to convert them to PDF via the Acrobat PDF Maker. When I am dealing with 11x17 & Poster size (36"x48"), the PDFMaker gets into the Converting Process (60%) then displays the following option:
PDF Page Size in Adobe PDF printer is small causing pages to be split.
Press OK to convert without preserving transparency, bookmarks & links.
Press Cancel to choose a bigger sheet (at least 17.00 by 11.00 inches)
I hit cancel & have changed every Page Size option I can find including:
the Change Conversion Settings, in the Adobe PDF tab in Publisher
Conversion Settings: (Created custom setting with default page size)
Printers & Faxes in Control Panel
    Adobe PDF Printer
    Printing Preferences
Changed default settings & page size
I even changed the output paper 11x17
Yet, it never fails to try to convert everything into letter size. It seems as though it won't do anything over Letter size.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard & running Windows XP.
    PLEASE HELP!

  • How to change a pdf's page size, margins and page orientation? Are there available tools to do this?

We are converting Lotus Notes documents to PDF by exporting (printing) them to PDF via a PDF writer but found some content are truncated or cropped. We have to manually re-print to pdf using a different page/paper settings in order to capture the content correctly. Are there any other methods or tools which can automate this step? Would it be possible to change the PDF properties to adjust the page size, etc?
Hope there are some useful tools available as there are thousands of documents that are having this issue. Thank you.

The page size options are limited, but are in the crop tool. If there are no tags or other markup, you can also print to a new PDF and adjust the size in the printer interface -- sometimes the simplest method, but not normally recommended. The rotation can be done in the document menu and then saved. The rotation that is typically on the toolbar are only for the current view and does not save with the PDF. Many of these you can use a batch process to resolve (in AA8 that is under the Advanced>Document Processing). The better method is to setup your Adobe PDF printer to create the correct page size and orientation in the future. You can setup to typically expand to fit, select a paper size, and have the settings set to auto-rotate. The later is based on the text that is found on the page. The margin elimination is also part of the crop tool. Hopefully this at least gives you some things to look at. Unfortunately, the tools get moved around with every version, so you may have to search for the tools.

  • HELP ON PDF CUSTOM PAGE SIZE

Is there any way to save a 5.5" x 8.5" publisher file to the same sized pdf pages....???
I have Windows Vista and Adobe Reader 8.
I have a 348 page cookbook ready to publish, but the cookbook publisher wants it saved to pdf in the print-page size....5.5 x 8.5, one cookbook page to one print page.   I can get one page of 5.5 x8.5 as a stand alone on an 8/5 x11" pdf page... but can't figure out how to make the pdf page size the needed 5.5 x 8.5"
Is there a trial Adobe-something that allows  this?

You're in a forum for a completely different product than you need.
If you find your way back here to see this, go to the Adobe Acrobat forums. Acrobat will do what you are asking.

  • Word to PDF - custom page size isn't being retained

I'm having a problem converting a Microsoft Word docx to a PDF and retaining the proper custom document size. In Word (for Mac) the size in Page Setup is 5.25x8. But when I save it as a PDF, the PDF document properties say it is 8.5x11. Any suggestions?

Open up the printer properties (I assume it is similar on a MAC to a PC) and set the page size there. Acrobat does not necessarily use the page size you have set in your document. It is kind of like printing your document to a printer with letter paper in the paper hopper rather than your custom stock.

  • Report Page Size

    greetings,
The problem is that by default the page skip in report 6i is after 12 inch but for our check printing case we have 3 cheques in 11 inch paper. we have so
designed our report such that three cheque data are printed in designated location in the preprinted stationary paper but when it comes to the next page it is not printing properly becoz it skips after
12 inch paper but the size of the three cheques together is 11 inch so the printing is not taking place in the designated position in the cheque. so if u
could me an idea it will be of very useful.
    Thanking u
    Regards
    Shyam

    Hi Paliyath
Then it looks like you are running reports in character mode. If this is the case, modify "Report Width" and "Report Height" under "Character Mode" against the section object.

  • Page size issues while saving Deski report to PDF

    Hi All,
While saving the Deski report as PDF, the page size changes randomly.
    The workflow is:
    Created a report in Deski.
-- Chekced in File | Page setup the zoom size(Fit to Print | Adjust to) is 100% and the paper size is A4.
    -- Saved it as PDF.
-- In Acrobat Reader 7.0, opened the save report, the size of paper is 8.5*11, the normal paper size.
-- In the report in theFile | Page setup, changed the zoom size to anything less than 100% (e.g changed to 90%) whereas the paper size is A4.
    -- Saved it as PDF.
-- In the Acrobar Reader noticed that the page size increases to some random size(e.g 9.18*12.99).
When priting the Document the printer changes the same to A4 resulting in truncating of the content.
The page size should be same but the content size should reduce.
The issue can be reproduced in 6.5 and XIR2 as well.
Is there any workaround for this that the size of the content decrease rather than increasing the page size??

    Hi Sarbhjeet,
Thank you for all your help.
Further to our investigation we found that this is known issue and it is a limitation of the Product, it wont be fixed.
The ADAPT for the same is ADAPT00743734
It is reproducible with XI 3.1 as well.
    FYI...........
    1. PDF Engine will get the rendering information from the busobj. If there is a character size differences between PDF and busobj, there are chances that you may see bigger cells or reduced data in PDF.
    2. In the report when Fit to 1 page by 1 wide in Pagesetup->FitToPrint, the page size will be set to the fit the complete report in busobj.
    3. When save as PDF, this information (increased page size, due to settings in 2) will be sent to PDF Engine. The Engine will try to fit the size into the available standard PDF size (based on Print settings and other combinations). If it tries to fit the report (enhanced page size) to the available size, then we loose lot of information depending on the number of columns and rows.
    4. Shrinking the report in busobj may not feasible.
When we change the page size in Fit to Print (either Adjust to % or Fit to ) , in reporter it changes the page size instead of changing the rendering to fit to the page.
When save the report to PDF, it gets the information with extended page size. So we see the enhanced page in PDF.
Also in order to implement the shrink (instead of changing the Page size), each cell has to be shrieked to the percentage of the reduced page (compared to the original page size). It becomes more complicated when charts come to picture.
I hope the above information helps.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anisa

    Hello,
as you refer to Deski I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence|SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to the creation and design of Desktop Intelligence documents such as universe connectivity, prompts, charting, formatting, filter, and formulas. It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all Desktop Intelligence queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Standardise page sizes in merged PDF?

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to merge together a PowerPoint '07 and an Excel '07 file, both set to A4 lanscape page layouts, in Acrobat 9 Standard.  However, in the final merged PDF, the old Excel pages are huge compared to the PowerPoint slides - about 6 times larger.
Any ideas how I can force Adobe output a merged PDF all in the same page size and orientation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Simon

Acrobat's combine feature to merge files into one PDF does not provide a page size "editor".
Likely a cleaner work flow if the input files had page size adjusted by their native application.
Once done, use combine to merge into the single PDF.
You may find this is (over all) easier than using the Crop Tool resize features.
To view any PDF's page size when open in Adobe Reader/Acrobat go into Preferences.
Select the Page Display catagory then tick the "Always show document page size" choice.
    Be well

  • How can I export from Excel to pdf using Acrobat Std to achieve uniform page size throughout the whole pdf document?

After exporting the whole workbook to a single pdf file, page sizes are inconsistent. When viewing the document in full screen, some pages show up as 25% zoomed, others as 34%.  I could re-print the exported pdf file to pdf in Acrobat Std, and that way I could get the same page size throughout the document, but then I loose my bookmarks, which I don't want.
I have already set the page size to A4 in Excel, but that's not where my problem lies. any help, hint is appreciated.

A good place to start is Karl Heinz Kremer's blog, where he has a few examples:
