PDF resolution setting?

I have an 800 page pdf document that is 4.3K in size. I used https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpd to create and 8 page document. The size is 46.K, so big as to be useless. Is there a way to set the resolution in this product?

By the way, coming back to an earlier question, YES there is another way to send this. Sending big files by email is a common problem (think of the size of videos for example) and many, many files cannot be reduced to be small enough to email (sending more than 5 MB by email is considered impolite at best; it may not seem very large, but imagine being forced to download it on a phone where you pay by the MB, and having no choice because you can't read it until downloaded...a common situation).
Adobe have a service called SendNow for sending files. Basically, it works like this:
- you go to SendNow
- you upload your big file
- you choose an email address
- a small email is sent with a link in it
- the receiver reads the email and, if they want and when they are ready, they click it to get the big file.
There are rival services, some free, but it would be impolite to mention them in Adobe's own forums.

  • Is there a menu option in basic Adobe Reader than will enable me to check if a PDF is set in RGB or CMYK?

Is there a menu option in basic Adobe Reader than will enable me to check if a PDF is set in RGB or CMYK?

No. Acrobat Pro's preflight is the tool for checking this sort of thing but you should be aware that it isn't a simple RGB versus CMYK. A file can contain any mixture of either, as well as other colour spaces (greyscale, Lab, spot colour). So in preflight you are looking to be told not "is this file CMYK" but "does this file contain any non-CMYK elements". Preflight can also check other prepress needs like a minimum resolution.

  • I cannot enlarge photos on Facebook, I only get a BLACK, BLANK screen when I click on them-someone suggested it might be "Screen Resolution Setting"? I've already uploaded new firefox version. Please help!

I am not able to ENLARGE photos on Facebook, this means photos that friends post on News Feed & photos that I post in my FB photo albums. I only get a BLANK, BLACK screen when I click on individual photos. A friend suggested that I upload the New Firefox, and I did this today, but it did not resolve problem. Friend also suggested that it could be "Screen Resolution Setting"?? OR "Data Rate" too slow?? I do not know how to check these features? Please help! If it could be something else, please let me know. Thank you for your time & help!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Display resolution setting

Somehow I changed the resolution setting for the display on my MacBook. Now I'm not sure what to set it. I currently have it on 1280 X 800, but I'm not sure that is right. Any help will be appreciated.

I've been dealing with the same issue. I can tell you if you go into start, control panels, displays, settings and change the display to the next setting down - maybe 1280 x 769 (guessing) you will get a much crisper display. My question is how do you keep those setting so you don't have to reset the display each time you boot to XP???
    Good luck,
    Bill

  • Acrobat 9 HTML to PDF conversion sets all checkboxes to checked - Duplicate question

I am converting html files to pdf using Acrobat 9 pro. All of the check boxes and radio buttons come out checked.
This is exactly the same as the following thread:

    Hi Don,
Have you tried updating to v 9.5.5 and checked.
Which OS and browser are you using?
Have you checked the behavior with a new sample form on the browser?

  • Automatic TV Mirror resolution Setting

Whenever I plug my PowerBook G4 to an external TV monitor and switch to mirroring, the resolution automatically changes to 800x600, which really ticks me off because not only is it not what I want--I want 1024x768--but it's so small that I can't even access the Monitor icon in the menu bar! I have to go to the Apple menu, open System Prefs, go to monitors, and reset it there.
How can I set the system so that every time I plug into a TV and start mirroring, it automatically goes to the resolution setting that I want?

    Greetings,
When you reset the resolution does the entire frame show up on the TV?
    Yes.
It sounds like the computer is detecting the default resolution of the TV.
I don't think that's the case, or if it is, then it's irrelevant. I connect to two different TVs; one does the right resolution, the other one does the wrong one. I seem to recall having this same problem last time I installed a new OS, and somehow I overcame it.
Whether or not it's detecting the TV's resolution (unlikely, as it's NTSC and the resolution is 525 lines), I need to find a way to get it to automatically jump to the resolution I want when I plug it in.

  • How to use resolution setting in preview

I am adjusting resolution setting for photos in preview. I just want to find out what the max resolution is and when or if you would ever need to use it. I am submitting photos to a website that wants the highest quality images. I have a mid 2010 macbook pro using Yosemite.
    Thanks.

How about Close and Open Recent? or simply Revert?

Has anyone worked out how to change a keynote presentation PDF resolution when preparing for sharing? The file I get is too big to email (6 photos gave me 55mb) as it appears to retain the input resolution of the embedded photos?

If using Acrobat 9 Go To Document>Reduce File size.
If Using Acrobat X or XI to tot he tools sidebar and use Optimize for Web Distribution.
If you do not want to fool witht he pdf in any way then download Adobe Send Now app and use their free service or subscribe for a year for a whopping $29.95.
The free version allows you to upload files upt to 500MB there may be limitis to how many files you can upload it sends an e-mail to the parties you want to download the files and they simply follow the link and it downloads.
The paid version allows you to upload files as large as 2 GB and gives you 20GB of storage. I immediately myself purchased the paid version.
If you hppen to upgrade to the cloud then you get the paid version free.

You would need to program that step yourself or use a 3rd-party Report Managers listed at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html (I know at least one of them provides that functionality).

I am using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional on a Windows XP PC. On numerous occasions, my Acrobat Distiller Adobe PDF default setting changes mysteriously from "High Quality" to "PDFX1a". • Mac Cube resolution setting for TV's

I'm trying to connect my Cube to my home TV to watch movies directly off of my Cube but seem to run into problems with the resolution setting on the TV.
My computer starts cycling on, but then suddenly goes black after a few minutes and I don't know why my desktop doesn't show up on my TV.
Any suggestions about why it is that my Cube desktop doesn't show up on my TV. I have a Sony Wega 42" TV.
    Thanks,

well if this the first time connecting it up to the TV take your monitor out to the TV and connect both to the computer and then you will see the screen on the monitor and then go to you display prefs and click detect displays. and make sure you change it so the primary is the TV. after that you won't have to do that again. any time you connect the TV it will show up. you may not see the gray screen with the apple.
if that does not make sense tell me and i will try to clarify the steps.

  • Photoshop PDF resolution and color space difference: Acrobat vs. Photoshop?

I have received several Photoshop PDFs from different sources. In Acrobat, the document properties indicate the PDF producer as Adobe Photoshop for macintosh -- Image Conversion Plug-in. When checking the image either with PitStop or through Photoshop via Acrobat's Touch up object tool, the image shows as a 100 dpi RGB image. If the PDF is opened directly in Photoshop, Photoshop indicates it is 300 dpi and CMYK.
Does anyone know why there is this difference? Also what is the Image Conversion Plug-in and how does it work?

Ah, sorry; in that case possibly the Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities-button was hit (thus including the original psd-file) but a low-res-pdf-setting selected.
In which case the original data would appear to be CMYK and of a higher resolution that the pdf-images.
