PDF's no longer appear after download

When I click on a .pdf link I get a black window while the file downloads but it is never rendered after the download completes. I have Adobe Reader installed as well as the Apple Preview. If I control click the link and "Download linked file as..." it downloads and I can then open it in either Preview or Reader. Anyone know what I might do to get it to display in Safari again?

Locate to a .pdf file you already have. Right or control click that file, then click Get Info from the pop up menu.
Where you see: Open with; click that pop up menu. If Safari isn't listed, click "Other" then navaigate to the Safari application in the Finder and click Add. The in the Get Info window click, "Change All". That wasy all PDF's will open in Safari for you.

3-d is no longer enabled after downloading Yosemeti update. Can I re-enable? I was able to 3-d layers prior to this new update. I have changed any drivers an know the mac is capable. Dunno how under systems it is disabled.

Any computer tech would know that it is likely not firefox causing this issue, but an incompatibility with a new ebay sign-in page and the firefox browser. The browser only does what the code on the page tells it to. I have seen the issue with other sites that work with IE or with Safari, but not firefox and some that work with firefox and IE but not Safari, it is the web developer's fault for the page that isn't working, not your browser.
---It is possible that it is a firefox issue, but it is most likely an issue with the webpage itself. I do not have a problem signing into ebay at all with firefox.

IPAD 2 - IBOOKS app not appearing after download

I have been able to download COMCAS and SONOS apps without problem and they show on my screen (I have only one screen) but I have tried several times to download ibooks using my itunes store, then syncing with my IPAD. I never see any app on my IPAD. It is NOT on any 2nd screen page and I have tried off/on with IPAD, then a soft reset and nothing works.
Would appreciate any help since using IPAD as a book reader was one of my main reasons for buying it.

When you say a soft reset, do you mean : pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignoring the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear (you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot). If not, then give that a go. A number of people have had a similar issue with iBooks (and I've only heard about it affecting iBooks), and it's then appeared after this type of reset

Archived PDF could not be opened after downloaded to PC

I am using FM ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_TABLE to get archived PDF into internal table and then using METHOD CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>GUI_DOWNLOAD to download this to PC.
Now when I try to open this PDF, it gives some error. Error reads
Adobe reader could not open "file.pdf" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)
This was working fine in non unicode 4.7 system, but is not working after upgrade to unicode ECC 6.0 system.

Is the filetype declared as 'BIN' in download?

Wifi no longer working after downloading BT Fon ap...

I downloaded the new App, but as a result I was losing connection with my home Wifi network.
In the end I uninstalled the App because everytime I tried to surf I ended up on the BT Fon webpage (why?), but it appears to have done something with my Wifi because now I can't connect to my home network at all - it says it's connected but it doesn't load anything. If I switch off Wifi it will load using the mobile connection.
I have rebooted the phone a number of times, disconnected and reconnected the Wifi, and deleted my home network and reconnected it, but it still won't work.
I wish I'd never downloaded the App now!
From reading the reviews it appears this has happened to others as well. Can anyone give me any idea how to rectify this and get my Wifi back, other than a factory reset - I am not a happy bunny!

So the handset browser shows no web pages at all even if you go into bookmarks and select a page?
Have you tried a different browser like Skyfire?
You may have to bite the bullet and reset regardless if all else fails, use HTC Sync to get the important stuff saved.
I have been using the Fon app on the hero and never had any issues with it at all, I have found it to be a handy little app.

Pdf email attachments - error msg after download "not decoding" - creating DWORD key did NOT work!

I went to REGEDIT and installed the DWORD key as suggested by ADOBE to fix problem created by security update & it did NOT work!! Attempting to save then open the files gives same error msg. I sent multiple emails from a book scanner at the library with pdf files in quick and searchable formats & neither will open! Someone else that I forwarded the email to was able to open with no problem & he is running version 10. There is no option to load earlier versions!!!! I am running version 11 on Windows XP.

I scanned hundreds of pages using a book scanner @ the law library - the USB port was not working so I had to choose the send by email attachment option. Received 30 emails & NONE (so far) of the pdf attachments will open - the error msg states "Reader could not open "doc" because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." I forwarded 2 emails to someone else running version 10 - he had no prob opening from email (I have version 11 & then I also reinstalled 9.5 & STILL getting the same error msg)! Used someone elses's computer who is running version 10 & same error msg. Each time I try a fix I then go to a 'new' unopened email & attempt to open an attachment that hasn't been previously downloaded. Adobe supposedly has a fix - from Regedit - create DWORD key @ HKCU/Adobe/Reader/11/AV General "bValidateBytesBeforeHeader" - I did that & restarted computer each time I installed etc - still NO solution! So unless you have another idea I have a THIRD 6 hour roundtrip to the Law Library in KC in my near future!

Web site that provide a menu item that results in sending a "pdf" file simply shows a white page instead of the requested item. In a few instances, if I minimize the screen the pdf file will appear. I can then go to full screen and the page displays as it's supposed to. In some instances, however this doesn't work either.

Quit Safari.
Go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari.
See if that helped...

Acrobat Pro doesn't appear after downloading

Camera Profiles Not Appearing After Download

Hello all, I properly downloaded the camera profiles (shut down Lightroom, ran executable, started up Lightroom), but none of the profiles are appearing. I have Canon 20D and 30D models but also it says in Camera Calibration is "Profile: Embedded". There is no choice in the drop down menu. I am on Windows Vista with full version Lightroom 2.0. Any hints?

This means you are looking at a non-RAW file such as a tiff or jpeg. The profiles only work on RAW.

Firefox will no longer start after downloading the last update

Yesterday (2/7/14) I downloaded the latest Firefox update. While the update was being installed I got a Parse error message. When I tried to restart Firefox nothing happened. I tried reinstalling Firefox (both with and without uninstalling the old version) and Firefox would start at the end of the installation process but after I closed Firefox it would not restart. I tried starting it in the safe mode but that didn't work. When I use the Task Manager Processes tab I see Firefox open for about a second and then it disappears.
I was finally able to get it to open by using Windows Explorer to set the compatibility mode of the Firefox.exe file to "Windows 2000" but I don't think that is a good solution.
Note that I am running the Windows XP Professional operating system.

Yes, I uninstalled Firefox, deleted the program folder, and then reinstalled Firefox. Firefox still would not start until I set the compatibility to Windows 2000.

TS1702 Icons not appearing after download to 2nd ipad

I installed several apps this evening, on my Ipad2 & then attempted to install the same on my husband's Ipad2. During the 2nd installation the icons did not appear. Is there any way to retrieve them? This was the 1st time I used the App store via our IPads, I previously synced via my windows computer.

What IOS version are you using?
If Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > when the same apple id on both ipads is used and in Automatic Downloads for Apps is ON, you do not have to do anything, it will automatically downloads to the 2nd iPad.
Otherwise, use the iPad where the apps are missing, tap App Store app > Purchases and re-download those missing apps for free.

Google adsense ads no longer appear after latest update

Hello,
I just recently did quite a few updates through updater and now all my Google Adsense Ads disappeared. Well, they are still there, but solid blocks of color with no text. Other than the update, I didn't do anything else besides add some text to the pages. They worked fine beforehand.
If I delete them and re-add them, I get the same results. I waited over 24 hours to see if they would appear and they didn't. I emailed Google, with a generic form letter in return that didn't address the issue.
I'm hoping that the smart people on here maybe have experienced this and know what's going on. Thank you for any help you can provide!

Project no longer works after downloading AIR 3.4

My AIR project built using sdk 3.5.0.12683 was all working fine with AIR 3.3, but now I've downloaded 3.4 it won't load. The background AIR window opens and that's it.
Is there a way to reinstall AIR 3.3, while we try to find out what change in 3.4 is affecting our code.

Wrong, maybe everybody else is not just downloading and instaling AS IS, but rather downloading and saving these AIR Updates so if things do not go like planed they will be able to rectefy the problem! On the other hand if you would use Flex 4.0 onwards and still use the mx as I do then you would have maybe more likely not the problem you encounter right now with Flex 3.5, and as I do use Flex 4,0 with mx only and all my web or AIR Apps (96% with modules) are all working very well with AIR 3.4! regrds aktell2007
