Pdf save as jpg and png looks pixelated like it doesn't anti-alias text

This has been an issue for a while and I can't figure out how to resolve it.  When i open a pdf in acrobat 11.0.0 and click file/save as other/ i can't get the text to anti-alias, it always looks jagged no matter what settings i adjust.
I can bring the pdf into photoshop or illustrator and can export there but with multiple pages it is a bit absurd.  any ideas?

thanks bill,
I'll try to do the updates, it is rather difficult to do when the creative cloud software thinks you are up to date.
I've tried everything from determine automatically and 72-600 dpi, adjusting the interlace and filter options. It happens regardless of the font - here are 2 more examples on a file created in illustrator, saved off as pdf and then jpg using default settings and png using default settings

  • AE CC crash when drag jpg and png files to comp

    Hi I have noticed photoshop exports of jpg and png files cause AE CC to crash when drag these files  to comp Same jpg and png exported from CS6 do not cause crash.

    What exact version of Photoshop CC are you using? 14.0, 14.1, 14.2?
    How are you saving the PNG and JPEG files from Photoshop? File > Save As? Save for Web?
    In After Effects preferences > Media & Disk Cache, is the Create Layer Markers from Footage XMP Metadata option enabled? Does the problem go away if you turn this off?
    A similar problem recently occurred with files generated from Illustrator CC (17.1):
    http://adobe.ly/1jlIykQ
    However, we have no reason to believe the same problem would apply to files generated from Photoshop. I am not able to reproduce your problem with PNG and JPEG files saved from Photoshop CC (14.2), either from Save As or Save for Web. So either the conditions of your problem are more specific, or it is not related to the XMP Metadata problem.

    Hi mafiose15,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
    How to restore iPod
    Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
    Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
    Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
    After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
    Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
    If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
    A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
    Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
    Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
    During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
    Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
    After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
    You can find the instructions in this article:

    All the best,

    Now I also know about pulling the message to the left to see the time stamp.  Good to know, although I preferred it being right where I could see it without having to do a swipe or keystroke.

    Same problem, 3.6.8 and previous recent versions. I never thought to try another browser but I just pasted into IE and it worked fine. I copied from Firefox to IE and it worked as well. It's just when you paste into Firefox that you get the weird line breaks.

  • How to save a jpg and gif at same pixel size?

    This doesn't seem to be very convenient.. I need two file types of same image, identical dimensions..
    Thx

    I don't have AI 13 (CS3), but in AI 12 (CS2), I get the same pixel dimensions for both .jpg and .gif versions created via Save for Web (using your 350x200 example).

  • Something changed on my file and now my vector elements and fonts look pixelated in CS6

    Today an illustrator file with vector objects and fonts that I've been working on for days looked pixelated when enlarging at more than 400%. I couldn't find the fix so I started a new canvas, selected everything from my pixelated file, pasted it into a new canvas and everything transferred correctly so I was able to continue working with my vector elements again.  I was curious if anyone knows what made my vector elements change to pixels and how to fix it.  Thanks guys

    You are welcome Miss Modular.
    Even on web jobs people do not use that option too often, so really wish they would not assign a keyboard command to that, which is what I suspect happened to you.

  • Applescript Open PDF save as JPG

    I can do a batch process in Photoshop pretty easily, but I need it be a little more robust.
    I want to grab a folder full of PDFs then open each PDF in Photoshop. Then check to the width and height of the document. If the file is wider than it is tall it runs one Photoshop action. If it is taller than it is wide, it runs another action.

    Kirk, have a very brief look at fit image. I must say I've never used this feature before and Im a long time user of PS. I've coded what I think it does you will have to test and see for yourself. I have also moved a few things about as they did not need to be part of the repeat loop in PS. Also included convert to RGB color space as files are to be for web. Can you also check PS's pref's file handling set append file extension to always and lower case if it is not already.

  • How do you switch between web server snapshot jpg and png modes?

    I read in another forum a posting by "NathanK" stating:
    "The snapshot feature of the web server can
    generate images either as png or jpg. In LabVIEW 8.6 and later, the
    default which is generated by the web publishing tool is the png
    format. In this mode everything happens in memory so there is no
    snapshot image file generated.
    In the jpg mode there is a
    temporary file, however it is not always the same file and the file is
    deleted after it is uploaded to the client. I would not recommend
    trying to use this programmatically.
    If you need more
    control over a snapshot of a front panel (and you are using 8.6), I
    would recommend making a custom web service that takes a picture of a
    VI's front panel and returns it to the client. Then you would have
    control over the image."
    I am currently using the web publishing tool snapshot feature with an EXE program written in LV8.6.  However, each time a browser accesses the html file, the EXE file's memory grows by 72KB (this happens with my custom EXE program and with LabVIEW.exe when running the VI in development mode).  I'm assuming this is the png that is generated each time a snapshot is taken, but the program never de-allocated the memory and the program eventually crashes.  I'm aslo assuming that if I switch to "JPG mode", the web server will generate a temporary file and eventually delete it, elminating the memory leak.  The problem is, I don't know how to change the modes from png (default) to jpg.

    I am and have been using the .snap function on many applications since LabVIEW 6.1.  It's very simple, easy to use, does exactly what I want it to do, and is still in the documentation of LabVIEW 8.6, 2009 and 2009 SP1 as being supported.
    If I am not mistaken, don't you need to have the LabVIEW runtime engine on the target system to use embedded mode?  I don't want to have to try and keep everybody who wants to see a screenshot of my program to have to have a run-time engine installed.  For one reason, I don't know everybody who wants to monitor our system and they literally can be anywhere in the world if the VPN to our network.  Second, those who I do know would would have me install it for them.  Third, why go "backwards" in capability...everybody would ask me "Why do we have to do this now?..we never had to do it before", and I don't want to use my time/energy at work to explain why NI cannot fix a memory leak that has been identified in at least the last 3 versions of LabVIEW and is still not fixed.
    I had been using either LV 6.1 or 7.1 for a good part of 10 years and had very few problems with them (BTW, DAQmx is the greatest thing every put on a computer EVER).  I finally make the transitioin and start using LV 8.6 on a major test platform last year, got to the very end of it and find this out.  <sigh!>
    It is funny (maybe not), but my work around feels like I just changed the floormats in my Toyota car to keep it from "crashing".
    However, if I am mistaken and you do NOT need to use LV runtime engine for embedded mode, ignore everything I wrote above and please let me know that this is the case and I will look into it.

  • How to save a jpg and give it a label automatically

    Hi guys. I've found myself regularly repeating a set of actions and I was wondering if there was some way of automating them using CS4. The scenario is that I use Bridge as my main photo organisation app. I rate my shots from 1-5 stars and then tend to double click on ones to edit them in PS. After saving the edited shot as a jpg with "_edited" added to the filename, I apply a label which is called 'Enhanced' and then apply a 'Original' label to the original jpg. This lets me immediately filter of my edited/enhanced shots in Bridge and locate the originals if I need them. It also makes the edited files stand out when looked at in a file view of Explorer etc .
    Is there an action or script I can create so that when I've finished editing a jpg it will take the original file name, add "_edited", save it as quality 10, baseline optimised, then apply the 'Optimised' label to the new file and exit the original jpg without saving but with applying the 'Original" label?
    Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    I have modified the function slightly, could you try this version please?
    #target photoshop
    if (!BridgeTalk.isRunning("bridge")) BridgeTalk.launch("bridge");
    if(documents.length >0){
    var originalFile = activeDocument.fullName.fsName;
    var saveFile = activeDocument.fullName.fsName.slice(0,-4)+"_edited.jpg";
    SaveJPEG(saveFile, 10);
    activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);
    labelPic(originalFile,"Original");
    labelPic(saveFile,"Enhanced");
    function labelPic(file,tag) {
       var bt = new BridgeTalk;
       bt.target = "bridge";
       var myScript = "";
       myScript += "var file = new Thumbnail(\'"+file+"\');";
       myScript += "var md = file.synchronousMetadata;";
       myScript += "md.namespace = \"http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/\";";
       myScript +="md.Label = \'"+ tag +"\';";
       bt.body = myScript;
       bt.send();
    function SaveJPEG(saveFile, jpegQuality){
    jpgSaveOptions = new JPEGSaveOptions();
    jpgSaveOptions.embedColorProfile = true;
    jpgSaveOptions.formatOptions = FormatOptions.STANDARDBASELINE;
    jpgSaveOptions.matte = MatteType.NONE;
    jpgSaveOptions.quality = jpegQuality; //1-12
    activeDocument.saveAs(new File(saveFile), jpgSaveOptions, true,Extension.LOWERCASE);

  • How to select many raw files resize save as jpg and close ?

    Hi,
    I wish to simply see a whole load, say 300 , of raw files as thumbnails, select those I wish to resize, adjust exposure etc, indicate the new pixel dimensions then have that happen and close them saving to a new folder.
    This seems to have to be a two stage process, open into raw viewer using pshop CS4, adjust images that need it, try and remember those that I want that are not requiring adjustment, then select those I have adjusted and those I also want that are 'good to go' and select open.
    Then use actions to resize, adjust canvas, and close as jpg.
    Trouble with this is one cannot indicate to raw viewer as one makes ones way through the thumbnails, which pics are to be opened when all have been assessed. I hit delete on those I am not interested in, but this deletes them from the PC !  If there are lets say five subtle variations, and only when seen large can one decide which is best, if no changes are required, there is no way of teling which one is the chosen one when going back down the list using ctl to select those for opening.
    I end up doing perhaps 20 at a time, as to open 300 kills pshop.
    Whats the best way here ?
    I also use BreezeBrowser as its great for viewing a folder full of images as large thumbnails or thumbnails with a large view of the selected image, but it has no way of resizing when converting from raw to jpeg.

    If you're running through masses of images, perhaps you should consider Lightroom.  It's set up to do things along the lines of what you're doing.

  • Different colours in jpg and png

    I need to export a logo in 300 dpi to jpg. When I do that, the colours aren't correct.
    When I export to png, the colours areas they should be, but they really want it in jpg...
    Can anyone help me with this one?
    Thank you!

    Is your Illy file RGB or CMYK?
    The problem might lie in the conversion from CMYK to RGB. Jpg is basically an RGB format - at least if you make a CMYK jpg, people working on Windows won't be able to open it. I think the same thing goes for png but I'm not sure. Can you give more details?

  • I just bought Adobe Illustrator and it looks pixelated on my Laptop

    I thought there might be a way to optimize the resolution to your display but I'm having a hard time finding that option if there is one.

    Do you have a retina display MacBook Pro? If so, download and install the updates.
