PDF saves as content of last file sent

Everytime I save a word 365 doc into a pdf it turns out to be the contents of the last pdf with this name (but date in doc file name changed). I even restarted my pc & updated it, but it doesn't help.
I have windows 8.1, Microsoft 365, internet explorer, and a pc.

Now it wont even open something I just downloaded.It I update it will it change my toolbar or anything on my pc?Thank you.Maureen

How to save the contents of a file(not a text file)

Hi all, I want to save the contents of a file(,png file, not a text file) as a field in a class. Shall I have it as a string or byte array or something?
I have tried saving a file in a string but there were some problems with loading the file from a different platform. Following is my code.

You should use a byte array, and the binary streams (InputStream a& OutputStream). Never use Strings and Reader/Writer if you have binary data.

How to save JTextPane contents to a file ?

Hello,
I'd like to save the content of a JTextPane document into a buffer then to save it into a Database Column (I'm using MYSQL).
If I'm using the getText() method, all attributes (color, font, and so forth) are lost
I have also tried to use the write(Writer) method into a ByteOutputStream, but here again, attributes are lost.
Thanks to anyone who may provide me with an example.

While the RTFEditorKit allows you to save files all with the same styling, the HTMLDocument class (if set as your JTextPane's StyledDocument) and HTMLEditorKit (works for both default StyledDocuments (on a more limited basis, I believe) and HTMLDocument's) allow you to save heterogeneous styling. However, it does NOT support the StyleConstants.ComponentAttribute, and does not provide a satisfactory exception when you attempt to use them (at least last time I checked - attempting to insert a component into an HTMLDocument yielded a NullPointerException, which wasn't useful at the time, but now that Java's gone open source or whatever, it's much more useful...).
So anyway, the point is, you can probably just use your regular old JTextPane combined with HTMLEditorKit.write() and HTMLEditorKit.read() methods. You will need to translate components into some sort of text (if they're Serializable, just write them to a ByteArrayOutputStream and convert it into a String, add some custom escape-char-like magic, and you're there) before using the write method (and of course, translating it back after you read it in).

I just bought a new MacBook Pro. I have tried to save pdf(s) after a scan and in Photoshop. They all look like a gray blur. There is no hint of the design file. Help!

Save a copy of file sent through FTP Send Port

How can we save a copy of the file sent through an FTP Send Port?
Here are the details of the scenario:
1. I have an Orchestration which after processing, creates a Flat File
2. Orchestration has a Static One Way Send Port with specify later
3. FTP Send Port is bind to the orchestration
Problem is, I don't want to create an extra file send port in the orchestration.
Requirement is:
When orchestration send the flat file to FTP, I want a copy of the file in a local file location.

Create a Send Port Group with the two ports in question and bind your orchestration to the Group.
Alternatively you can leverage the BizTalk Archiving Pipeline component from codeplex at
http://biztalkarchiving.codeplex.com/ and use this pipeline on your existing send port.

How to store the contents of a file

Hi,
I'm using forms6i and database 10g.
Through forms if a user selects a filename , and clicks a button or something,
the contents of the file should be saved in the database.
The file can be of any type, like .doc,.pdf,.xml,.html etc...
and the contents filed will be of type varchar
Please help me do this..

Do you really want to save the "Content" of a file or the file itself? If you try to save the contents of a .doc or .pdf in a column with a VARCHAR2 datatype, you are going to corrupt the contents of the file since these file types have binary data in them as well as text. I think you would have greater success storing the actual file in a BLOB column.

How can I save a PDF file or word file sent to me as an attachment directly to my iPhone 5s so if I want to read it I don't have to dig into my ail every time?

You will need to select the attachment and open in another app. If you do not have any apps that support PDF, Adobe reader for iOS is free.
For MS word files, you will need an app that supports those, like Documents to Go.
There is not generic file storage area in iOS, so you need to "open in" an app that supports that file type so that app can then add the file to its sandboxed local storage area.
If you need to markup the PDF, some good apps are GoodReader, iAnnotate, PDF Expert, GoodNotes - there are numerous others as well in the App Store.

I publish a 41mb InDesign newsletter monthly into interactive pdf. It always becomes a file size of 4mb, 10% of original, when I save to pdf. This month my newsletter is 41mb and it drops to 11mb, 25% of original. I have re-sized all pictures, deleted pages separately, have gotten the file size down to 16mb and it drops to 7mb, 45% of original.
I have gone back and saved Feb and March and it saves to 10% of original, as it did before, and I use the same mechanism to save now.
I have gone to Acrobat Pro and optimized down to 8.8mb, but the quality is not acceptable.
What other variable is there that I haven't discovered?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Easy way to add content from a last file like a word document?

Is there somebody who can tell me how i can display content from a word file.
I have files with content inside on my network for example a word document.
Inside this document i've got hyperlinks to content on other pages from the same document. Is the a way or a method how i can display the content in the portal.
Do i need to cut and paste the word content of should i save the content as a XML or a HTML document and then add the document to portal

Yeah, I have an idea... Have you tried the pdf export yet? If it is already formated then that maybe the way to go. But you may need acrobat to save it in another format. If I recall InDesign renders the pdf, which would make editing the pdf in Indesign useless.
OK, did a quick test with PDF. Load the PDF into Acrobat and save as a word file. Place the word file into InDesign and you will have the styles paragraphs. You just have to alter the style taste, may be fix a few paragraphs if needed.

Why can't I open pdf file sent by email?

I recently installed Word 2007. I couldn't open a pdf file sent to me by Hotmail email and using Explorer 9. If I download it in open/save I can open it but can't open it as an email.
I have Acrobat and even reinstalled it because I heard I should do that to make sure it was installed properly. Should I purchase something to help this problem?

Don't know why you would uninstall Acrobat. I assume you must have another PDF reader if you don't want Acrobat installed (for whatever reason). If you do not have another reader, you will not be able to read the PDF. On a MAC, you could use the Preview, but a PC does not have that option. On a PC, the reading of a PDF depends on the settings of both your OS and the mail package. It is not clear what happens when you try to open the PDF, or even how you are trying to open it. Hard to help when we don't know what you tried to do. Sorry.

Can you drag and drop the attachments visible in the email to the Desktop OK or does that fail ?
Re the sending: Are these recipients on Mac's or PC's as the file type could be an issue, if on Mac's then try setting the Mail Preferences Composing setting to Plain Text not Rich Text and see if that improves things.

Extracting the first page from all pdf's in a folder and save them to a new file

As Bridge apparantly is unable to create a decent-looking PDF from a bunch of other PDF's, we're looking for alternative solutions. The problem is, that I haven't done much scripting in Acrobat.
Pseudocode:
Select Folder where PDF files are stored
Create list of PDF files
Get first page from each and add it to temporary new PDF
Save temporary new PDF in high quality
Would that be possible in Acrobat? And where would I start? I can't even find a Scripting Guide for Acrobat (like the ones for Illustrator and InDesign).. and there seems to be no sample scripts included either :-(

This can be done using a combination of an Action and a script. The script in the Action will collect the paths of the files you want to process and the folder-level script will extract the first page from each file and generate a new PDF from it. You don't need a plugin for this task, so you don't really need the SDK.
