PDF send to R/3 Workflow

Hi all.. need some guide and tips here.
1. I have created a PDF from Netweaver Developer Studio.
2. User download the PDF and save in local.
3. User fill in the form, and click Send button in the form.
4. PDF send to R/3 workflow inbox wait for approval.
What should i do in step 3?
I need to convert binary and store in R/3 ztable? How to do it?
I only able to call FM thru webservice, but have no idea what is next step.

Thanks alot for the links.
Step 4 - In order to retrieve the pdf anytime, we need the pdf store in binary.
This why we have stuck in the middle in step 3, how to convert pdf into binary and send to R/3.
Is there any better solutions out there?

Send email from custom workflow to group

Hi!
We have Office 365 A2 Plan subscription. We use InfoPath form to submit travel request and custom 2013 workflow made in Sharepoint Designer 2013 to route that form for approval.
If we send email using workflow to individual user it works fine.
Problem occurs when we try to send email to group. we can't send email to security group made in office 365, distribution group from exchange online or security group in exchange online.
My question is: is there any kind of group inside Office 365 (Sharepoint Online or Exchange online) that we can send mail to using workflow and if that is possible, how can we do that?

It is simple powershell script and without such small changes it may not work
May be Office365 team might have given you there AD. If users are in your AD then you need t make sure normally users from outside org can send you email on that email address.
Try to use this email address in Office365 and check if that helps. mostly without AD sync it is difficult

Can not send mail from PR Workflow to the approver

Dear all,
I have issues about send mail from PR Workflow to the approver.
Now when user create PR and the corresponding user can receive the workflow items in SBWP.
But no email from the user to approver.
If I assign authorization SAP_ALL to the user that create PR. The approver can recieve the workflow item PR in SBWP and email to their mail
Can you tell me about the authorization that can allow the user to send the workflow item PR in SBWP and email to the approver?
Now user can send mail to external and internal mail and I also configured the mail server in SCOT and can successfully send a mail to users in SO01 by manually creating a message.
Now the approver not receive any email but can receive a workflow item in SBWP

Hi Lavanya,
I dont think its possible using Send mail step type.
But it can be done by using the FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1. Just create a method and Call this FM accordingly.

"Save PDF to folder as JPEG.workflow"

...is now missing from my library/PDF services folder.
I use Aperture to design my books, which I have printed by Asuka and other vendors. I set up workflows to export the books at the appropriate DPI (271 for Asuka, 300 for the flush mount albums I do).
When the the JPEG's weren't showing up in the folder I tried to save to I checked my Library/PDF services folder to find the "Save PDF to folder as JPEG.workflow" missing.
Should I re-install Aperture from the disk? If I do so how will it affect my library?

Installing Aperture again will not affect your library, so there is no risk doing that.

Using send email step in workflow

Hi Experts,
I have a question regarding the send email step in workflow.
We have the Receipient Type as Organizational Object and Expression as &WF_INITIATOR&.
I want to know if the mail will be sent to the SAP email ID (i.e) in SBWP or will be it be sent to the Outlook email ID.
We want to send it to the Outlook email ID of the User. Can you guide us as to how we can do the same.
In some cases, we want to send the notification to both the employee and his manager. Can this be managed through the SEND EMAIL step in the workflow or do we have to explicitly create a method and use a std FM that sends the email to the concerned.
Request your help on the same.

Yes. It is really up to you how you will develop everything. I personally like to get all the data into the workflow container, because it might be handy later in the life. Let's say that you go on with your custom email sending step and add there the code the get the data that you need in the email. It will work perfectly. But let's say that after six months the HR administrators want to get emails with a bit different content from this same workflow. Now you will need do another custom step. But if you had already all the data in the container you can simply add another standard email step and formulate the text with the editor and add the variables from the workflow container. Easy and simple.
So, my advice is that for example add just add some background step to get all the possible data regarding the employees & leave request & managers or whatever. Now you have everything in the container and you can use them in the email(s) - and you can use them in other places too - for example in the work item texts, etc.

I know that there is a "Save as PDF (Send as Review)" option that allows the client to review and comment but once the client has sent back the comments, how do you import those comments back into FrameMaker?

Hello,
Why don't you use the standard processing for PO output, there is a standard way to send po by mail as attachment.
Anyway if you need to link it with a workflow, you cannot use the "send mail" task from workflow builder. This kind of operation just can send notification withount attachment.
To send the po as attachment, you need to create your own task and method in a BOR object. I suggest you to start from the standard prosessing (CL_PD_PO_PROCESSING_BBP, method PROCESS_BBP_PO_MAI).

IN scot, it shows it is transmitted,but i dont find any in my mail box.
But when i send it from business workplace, i can see the mail in my mail box.
Can you please help me in this regard.

Hi Saujanya,
When you send it from the workplace you also send it to your Yahoo mail-id? As far as I can see from you replies the problem lies outside of SAP. Maybe a SPAM filter which blocks the message. This could be due to the mail-id which sends the e-mail.

Sending PDF as attachment using Business workflow from Java WD

It seems it is famous and known may be solved issue. But i am not able to conceptualize the information available. Thats why i am posting this. pls suggest me how to proceed.
My scenario: I have an online intercative form in java webdynpro application where as once user completes data entry on send button click, i am triggereing an workflow of ECC6.0 which sends mail to MS exchange mail ID. Once user gets the form and complete comments section i have another application which allows user to upload the file which is similar to offline case. But when i send the attachment i am getting mail with pdf attachment but when i open PDF i am getting error. And it seems PDF doesn't contain data(as size of pdf is 1 KB). and i tried to use xstring as input type.
Can anyone pls guide me how to proceed.

A pdf file is definitely not a text file. Storing it in a Java String is a mistake.
Is the "body" variable in your code a String? How does the data get into
the String?

The interactive form saved in WebDynpro Application is sent to R/3 in binary format. It has to be converted into pdf and sent it as an attachment in mail to the respective person in workflow.
Kindly help on these issues :
1. How to receive the binary data in R/3 sent by the WebDynpro Application ?
To my knowledge we can receive the binary in XSTRING data type. Plz correct me if am wrong.
2. How do i convert the received binary data into pdf ?

Hi Bharath,
I think you should try to write dat being sent to R/3 to spool first, as in R/3 there is FM <i>CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF</i> , with the help of which you will be able to convert Binary data to PDF format.
Pls find one of the threads related to this , and see if this is useful to you.
Problem in CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF.

I think You can reuse teh XString for binary data.there are certain function modules in R/3 for creating pdf/for sending it as pdf attatchment.please search in abap forums you will find more information

Print to PDF, send to Outlook

You know that cool workflow in the Print box "Make PDF...send to Mail"? I want one that makes a PDF and sends it to Outlook 2011. I can;t find one anywhere. Any suggestions?

If you're on Lion, open automator and create a new Print Plugin. Add actions to rename the file how you like, and to create a new outlook message (there should be a Create New Outlook Mail Message action). Save it, and it will show up PDF pull down menu of the print dialog.
if you're on an earlier OS, follow these instructions.
Unfortunately I don't have outlook on this machine, so I can't test it myself.
