PDF show up blank when emailed

I create a PDF file with my 6500A. When I open it, it displays fine. If I email it, it is blank when opened. This isn't always the case, but usually is. I have tried emailing with different browsers, sent it using Gmail and Hotmail, opened it using different browsers, and Gmail and Hotmail. No matter what I try, the recipient of the email gets a blank PDF... Please help!

I’m confused with this as well ☺
When I open an email that has an attachment in Outlook 2010, there are 2 tabs (or more depending on how many attachments there are) directly above the text of the message – one says “Message” and the other shows the file name of the attachment. If I double-click on the attached PDF it will open in Reader X, but if I just single-click on the attachment it shows a warning in the space below about only previewing files from a trusted source and it includes a “Preview” button. When I press this it opens a basic view of the document (text flashes past that says “Starting PDF Preview Handler…”, I don’t know if this handler is my installed version of Reader or if there is a basic PDf viewer in Office) and the PDF opens in the email message window in a basic format – no fillable fields shown, just text almost like a print preview. The only controls in this preview window are page up/down and view full page/fit to width. And in this preview, all of the data that was entered in the document on the tablet is shown, but if I double-click the attachment, or save the attachment and then open it, the fields are all blank.
It seems like when the Reader on the PC opens the file from the tablet, it doesn’t see the data that was entered and opens it as if it were just a new fillable PDF file. I have opened the original fillable PDF on the PC and entered information, then “saved as” and opened that completed PDF and it will retain the data in that case. I have also tried copying the completed PDF directly from the tablet using the USB cable and not emailing it and I get the same blank result.

  • Populated PDF form in Preview shows as blank when viewing

I have a pdf template form that I have filled in.
I did this in Preview and used 'save as' to create my copy.
However, the thumbnail preview of the pdf shows as blank, and if i send it windows users or preview it in gmail, it also shows as blank.
To start with I thought that I had accidentally saved the wrong version, but no, I can double click the pdf in Finder, and it opens in Preview with all the data present, exactly as I had saved it.

What I have noticed is that if I send the pdf to another mac user, they can see all the info fine. If I send the output from Preview in gmail, and someone downloads it, they can only view the information if they click on the "highlight fields" button, but then it still doesn't look quite right, with loads of expander "+"s all over the form.
When I tried opening the form in adobe reader from the link you provided, I get a different view again. I can examine each field and view the individual data items, but it is not possible to 'show all fields'

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - sign out and the sign back into Game Center

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Created help file either won't open or opens blank when emailed or copied for another user to see it.
Our HR person made a help file she wants to email to someone or copy to a network share.
-If she emails it the other person cannot open it.
-If she copies it even from her desktop where she saved it to the folder with all the other files, it opens blank.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I think they must be swapping out .html for .chm in DW or something. What the OP describes sure sounds like what happens when you do that.
    @dfiore27101
DW doesn't support .chm file types. Adding the extension doesn't compress the images into the file to create a true .chm.
Adding .chm will make a perfectly good .html file stop displaying in DW though.
An easier way to send someone .html help files would be to archive their folder as a .zip then email the .zip. The recipient would then need to extract the archive to view the files in their browser.
I don't know of any way to create real .chm files in DW.

  • PDFs showing up blank for other users

    Hey all,
I'm having some issues. I'm currently on a mac and using Adobe Reader. When I fill out a pdf form, and then I send it out to other people, it shows up blank, as if I never filled out any of the information. However, when I check on other computers in the office (all using Macs), it's all filled out. I'm not exactly sure if it's because some of these people are using PC or not, but it seems like whenever I try sending the pdf files via email, majority of the people outside the office receiving them are having issues viewing it (shows up blank)
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the issue? Any advice would help. Google search wasn't really getting me anywhere!
    Thank you!

the script doesn't work. do you have a working link?
Also, I'm not sure if the problem is that it's blank until they click on the space, or if the information is literally non existent.
I'll report back once I find a working link for the script
    Thank you so much though!

  • Some PDF attachments are corrupted when emailed using javamail

I have a java class that takes a file name, 'To' email, and 'From' email as parameters, and then emails the named file to the specified address as a Multipart email.
The problem that I am facing is that sometimes the PDF cannot be opened when it arrives because it is corrupt. I know that prior to sending, the PDF opens without issue, so the problem is in the code somewhere.
There are a couple of oddities here:
    1) PDFs that get corrupted and PDFs that do not get corrupted are generated from the same source (Oracle Report), so I believe that rules out a problem with malformed emails?
    2) If I compare the PDF before it gets sent to the PDF that arrives in my inbox using a hex editor (XVI32), the files are identical except that an extra character is getting added to the corrupt PDFs at the end of each line - hex '0A', which corresponds to ASCII linefeed. This indicates to me that maybe there is a problem with the way that the file is getting encoded when it is read. If I remove all of the 0A characters, the file opens correctly.
I believe that the code I am using is set up correctly, as I have looked at countless examples of this online to try to find my problem. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Code is included below.
    Thanks,
    Nick

Normally pdf files are text, with any binary data represented as encoded text. If your pdf files
include raw binary data, JavaMail can be confused. JavaMail will try to guess what encoding
is appropriate for your data. If the data is mostly text, JavaMail will use quoted-printable encoding,
and will canonicalize the text lines to end with CRLF (0x0D, 0x0A). A 0x0D in the binary will look
like an end of line and will turn into 0x0D, 0x0A.
You can force JavaMail to use base64 encoding for your data, which will preserve the binary
    data exactly, by using
    attachFilePart.setHeader("Content-Transfer-Encoding", "base64");
after setting the content for the part.
Alternatively, you could figure out how to generate pdf files that don't include raw binary data.

  • Desperately Frustrated: My emails show up blank when photos or attachments are sent. How can I change that so I see the photo in the body of my email?

I have only had my Mac for 2 weeks and when I received emails with photos the photos automatically showed up in the body of the email, now I have to physically open it with Quick Look to look at them. How did this change? Its really frustrating, I cannot find anything by googling this problem.
My preferences are set as rich text is there anything else I need to do?
    Thank you

  • Pdf coming up blank when attached to email

I've opened an online doc in PDF, filled it out, then attached it to an email. It's coming out blank. What should I do?

    Hi AZDave,
Could you please let me know what Acrobat version are you using?
There might be some corrupt PDF files or you might need to repair Acrobat from the Help menu.
Have you installed the latest Acrobat updates? What email system are you using for sending emails?
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Hyperlinks in PDF doc stop working when emailed out in Mac Mail. Why?

I have created a Pages document with hyperlinks and then saved it as a PDF.
The PDF document retains the hyperlinks (they still work).
When I attach the PDF to Mail and email it out the hyperlinks stop working unless I double click on the PDF document (which "opens it").
Why? Help please as I want the hyperlinks to work when the email is received - ie. without double clicking on it. Thanks.

First off, Word should show you the version on a splash screen when you launch it.
Also, what happens to the links if you just open the document in Word and save it as a PDF?

  • PDF attachments are changed when emailed

I have a user that whenever she creates or prints a PDF (Adobe 8 Professional) and then tries to email it within Adobe (going to file -> attach to an email), it converts to either a winmail.dat, .eml or a .mht file when the person receives it. It only does this when she sends to someone not using outlook. If she attaches the pdf outside of Adobe, then it works. Rich-text is turned off in Outlook and Adobe is patched and up to date. Any suggestions???? This is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried changing the message format in Outlook to HTML?

  • Interactive PDF - Buttons stop working when emailed

    Hi there,
I have made an interactive PDF using InDesign CC.
I've checked in preview and once saved and all the buttons work and take me to the correct URL.
Once I email the PDF the buttons do not work, in fact they don't not even come up in the email. Please help!

The images that I have made in to buttons are not there once emailed.
I am aiming to send out a company newsletter and the buttons are for social media.
So I want to embed the PDF in to an email, and when you click on the Facebook, twitter etc icons I want it to take you to the correct social media pages.
I have set up the buttons correctly in InDesign as they work when I view the PDF, but once its emailed ( I sent it to myself as a test) the buttons are not there

  • Pdf files are blank when i try to print them from logic

whenever i try to print a pdf from logic it comes out completely blank. one day it just started printing blank pdfs, but i can't figure out why. i didn't change anything in my preferences, or install any new programs. any ideas? i'm using logic pro 8.0.2 thanks.

greetings ..if you want to print direct from the Score Editor do this:
1 - Select what ever you want to print in Logic
2 - Next to the Logic Pro in the Tool Bar is File
    3 - Go to File>Page Setup
4 - You will see a box there with a percentage. If you print blank pages
this could be because it is 2 percent or something. Return it to 100% and
    it should print.
5 - Another tip that most of us Score preparers do is to print first to the desk top as
a PDF. This will show you exactly what the printed sheet will look like. There is often
stuff you miss and this helps to proof read it and not waste paper/ink etc
