PDF Slideshow to JPG

I have created several PDF slideshows in PE9 and they play back nicely on the computer. I would like to convert these slideshows to JPG files, so that they can be burned to DVD's. I tried the batch process in PE9, but it did not work. It only converted page 1. Does anybody know of a software program that will do this? My budget is around $50 max. That of course leaves out photoshop and acrobat. Thanks

What Windows operating system are you running ?
IF you saved the original PSE slide show project,
-- there may be alternatives to burn a standard definiton DVD within the software that you currently have..  If you have a high def TV, then you could consider playing that DVD with an upscaling DVD player.
-- if you have a TV player that can play the WMV format, then you can output from the PSE slide show editor as a WMV file.
However, if you are determined to use the JPEG format,
-- then I think that you may need to start over using the Photoshop Elements editor and adding the text to copies of your photo files.  If you do have the slideshow project saved, then you could potentially try a copy and paste from the slide show editor to the to Text tool of the PSE Editor.
OR
-- look at the Adobe Reader and see if it has any functions to extract the individual photos from the PDF file. If yes, then the captions might be present in the resulting jpeg images.

I made a PDF slideshow of my book and the last page repeats and get tucked under the back flap of the book.  The page prints on its own once, it shows a greyed out page to the right of it, but yet it repeats this page on my pdf slideshow

Are you able to create juat a PDF file of your book that's correct?  If so then open it with Preview and start the print process.  In the print window click on the PDF button and then select Save PDF to iPhoto in the drop down menu.
Note 1:  If you don't have that option you can download a couple of Save PDF to iPhoto workflow files, 200 dpi and 300 dpi, from Toad's Cellar and put them in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot. They will then be available in the PDF drop down menu.
Each page of the PDF will be imported into iPhoto as a jpg file which can then be used in a slideshow.  Since the PDF file which was used was correct each slide in the slideshow will be correct.
Note 2:  When you use the Save PDF to iPhoto option there will be a window pop up for you to select the album, new or existing, to import the jpgs into.  It may not come to the front so hide any windows that are open so you can see that pop up window and make the selection.

  • Saving a PDF as a jpg in Preview

Until I recently got my new MAC and upgraded to Lion 10.7.4, I was able to crop an image out of a pdf and save it as a jpg in Preview.
Now you can only 'save a version' of a pdf and because no dialogue box opens, I don't know if its possible to save it in different formats or frankly where it saves to!
Is there another way to save images in word docs or pdf's as jpgs?

Duplicate it then you can save the duplicate in another format.
The lack of "Save As" causes a lot of confusion.

  • How to View PDF slideshow created with Adobe Photoshop Album?

Many years ago during the Windows ME era, I created several short PDF slideshows with software (Adobe Photoshop Album) that included audio.  I saved them to a flashdrive.  I believe I used Adobe Reader 7 to play them years ago.  I am now running Windows 7 and attempted to open/play the videos and all I could see is the individual slides with no audio.  Is there a way to view these slideshows with audio today?  Some of them have special meaning and I would appreciate any assistance on how to view them once again.

Hi there! Because the forum you originally posted in is for beginners trying to learn the basics of Photoshop, I moved your question to the Photoshop Ablum Starter Edition forum, where you'll get more specialized help.

    Hi Marion,
PDF pack is meant to convert files to pdf format, Here's the feature list : Convert Word to PDF, Convert PDF to Word & Merge PDFs | Adobe PDF Pack
In order to Create, Convert, edit pdf files, one needs to purchase Acrobat Software, Here's a feature list of Acrobat Pro : Features, PDF documents | Acrobat XI Pro
However, you can download a free 30 day trial of Acrobat software using the following link : https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html

  • Can I convert a pdf slideshow with narrative to a movie file?  Using Pro version 8

I am working with a template software (Vacation Bible School) where I insert pictures and at the end, it plays a slideshow with narrative (already in the template) when you open it up and hit the spacebar.  it works fine, but there are 5 different files and the company we got the template/pdf files from suggest for presentation purposes, I should just open up each file individually and start the slide show.  it seems kind of clumsy having to open up each file individually, play it, close it and then go to the next file.  It would be great if I could capture the slideshow as a movie file, then combine all 5 movie files into one file that can be played on a CD player (I use Sony Vegas studio and Nero software for this).  I am using Acrobat Pro version 8.  Any suggestions?

It can't be done in Acrobat.
I just did a Google search on "pdf slideshow to video" and saw a couple of third party products that claim to be able to do it. I have never had a need for that, and can't claim how well they work.

Tags are independent of PDF page content. Removing/deleting a page or page(s) does not remove anything in the PDF's structure tree.
As Full Check is looking at the structure tree the report reflects what is present there.
In the Tags panel walk the structure tree to locate the Table tags. Delete these.

  • Pdf slideshow from PS CS4 - not bridge/output!

Does anyone know if I can get it back in the automate settings, perhaps as a legacy function?
I've just downloaded the PS CS4 and LR2 trials (and using the beta LR2.2 and beta ACR) as my PS CS2 and old raw plugin don't open my new cameras images.
imho I don't think they've really thought it through from a workflow pov, I provide both contacts and a pdf slideshow to my clients. If I use the bridge/output method for both on every job - and all the swapping over of the options that entails I will be smacking my head off the nearest wall after a couple of days.
The bridge/output also limits my choices severely - I thought the idea of upgrading was to IMPROVE functionality......... I'm not usually a grumbler, but I'm about to pay an upgrade price of nearly a grand (in £'s - not $!) essentially for a lovely raw plugin and nice LR2 web galleries - it's not looking like a particularly good deal :-(
I've found the "PS CS4 goodie" folder on the adobe site and installed the contact sheet II option into the automate area - it's just not practical for me to have a set of contacts in pdf format, it's definitely a step backwards for me.
I'd hoped for an improvement, with options to include a title, date etc - but nope.
I'm also not happy with the pdf slideshow in bridge/output - I miss the compression options, I often need to keep them small on the file front - whilst keeping the screen looking good (150ppi compression works well) - which I don't have the ability to do this in cs4, constraining to screen size choices with a "high" or "low" option is useless to me. I just don't get it - this is pro software - with a pro price - is it too much to ask for more pro workflow considerations? Come on Adobe, play the game......
Apologies for the rambling rant and general grumpiness - all help & suggestions very much appreciated :-)

I found an answer to my own question. A work around of sorts.
Download Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh. With PSE6 I made a slide show with 550 images 1920x1200, without thumbs. I ran into one problem making the slide show. My images contained 4 images which had not ben created by Photoshop and could not be included in the slide show. Opening the images in Photoshop CS4 and re-saving them still did not make then acceptable. Not a big deal. I probably could have fixed the four images by stripping all EXIF data before opening them in Photoshop. BTW, PSE6 made the slide show in demo mode.
I hope the bug in Photoshop CS4 will be fixed in Photoshop CS5.

  • Is the PDF slideshow in PSE 7 like the one in PSE 3 ?

I have PSE 3 and convert photos from vacations and trips to the "Simple PDF Slideshow" in PSE 3. When PSE 4 came out it seemed it no longer supported the PDF Slideshow so I stayed with PSE 3. Recently I noticed that PSE 7 has the PDF slideshow option. Is it the same (or very similar) to the one I enjoy in PSE 3? If so I may finally choose to install PSE 7. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think I can install PSE 7 and still keep PSE 3 until I decide which I like better. Also, I notice that an OEM version is available for $33. Is there anything illegal about purchasing an OEM version? Are there any drawbacks? Of course I will still need to purchase Barbara Brundage's book. Her book on PSE 3 has saved me many hours of trial and error.
    Eva

I didn't get any replies to my post so I'll have to reply to myself :-).
I purchased PSE 8 after deciding that the OEM versions for sale were too good to be true. I don't know about the legality, but further reading about OEM software for sale seems to indicate that it resembles piracy, in a way. So I put down my dollars for PSE 8 in a box. I ordered B. Brundage's book but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm sure many of my questions will be answered when I can read her book.
But about the PDF slideshows in PSE 3 and PSE 8, I can safely say they are NOT the same. Though on the screen both versions appear the same, if you save a particular slide to the clipboard and then to a file, the PSE 3 version is the full original size photo. If you want, you can print it. The PSE 8 version slide is maximum 1600 X 1200. Does it matter? Perhaps not. If I burn the PDF slideshow to a disk I know I can always extract a photo from the PSE 3 version. So I don't have to put the photos separately on the disk as well. Whether that's important to anyone but me is questionable, but it does  answer the question whether the two slideshow programs are the same.
I have some other observations about having both versions of PSE on the computer which will go to a separate topic.

  • PDF Slideshow question.

    Hi! :-)
Does somebody knows if the created pdf slideshows, can showing the images only, without having the surrounding black border?
Can Photoshop Album Starter Edition, create pdf slideshows without black borders? How?
If not, what program can do this trick?
    Maybe acrobat trial? Something else?
    Thanks!!! :-)

    THANKS VkSharma!!! ;-)
    It's a pity!
I installed acrobat trial and I made the no-borders pdf, but album creates much more small sized files, so they're more comfortable for online sharing.
    THANKS AGAIN!!! :-)

  • PDF Slideshows losing functionality when posted online

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I HAVE NO PROBLEM MAKING SLIDESHOWS WITH TIFF AND EMAILING THE PDF SLIDESHOWS TO CLIENTS. BUT ONCE I POST THE SLIDESHOW ON MY WEBSITE, THE PDF SLIDESHOW STOPS SCROLLING AUTOMATICALLY AND YOU CAN NOW ONLY MANUALLY SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE IN ACROBAT FORMAT. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT SETTING I NEED TO SELECT IN EITHER PHOTOSHOP ALBUM STARTER OR ACROBAT TO PREVENT THIS.

I want to resize files for pdf slide show but retain full view, how is it done........(this is my first attempt)
I have used 40 files (average size 74kb) with background music, works perfect on DVD and when using Elements 5. BUT if emailed the music finishes before the last 3 files. Why? Can anybody tell me why and what I am doing wrong.
