PDF to DWG converter

Hello,
I've looked around quite a bit for some sort of convert tools to do this task-convert PDF to DWG. Just wondering if there is anything out there that you guys recommend?
I have a few PDF files that I need to convert, so I can make some edits.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I have tried some software and found AutoDWG PDF to DWG Converter is work wonderful. It directly convert PDF to DWG or DXF files, preview converted drawing with embedded drawing viewer, and then you can open up the created drawing with your drafting system, such as AutoCAD or TurboCAD, all lines arcs texts are perfectly converted, and you can edit it as normal drawing files, you can move, delete and trim lines, copy and paste part of drawing, change scale etc.

  • Countless .png files after converting pdf to dwg

After converting a .pdf file to a .dwg file using the export feature in adobe illustrator, I find that as many as 500 .png files come with the newly made .dwg after the conversion is complete. My question is, why do all these pictures come with the .dwg file and what would I have to change, settings wise, to no longer have to delete all of those photos? (i.e. how to export ONLY the .dwg file) I thank you all in advance for you help.

We can't know. We have no idea what the file looks like, how it was created in the first place or even what version of AI you use. And not to state the obvious: You are mistaken if you think that CAD-generated PDFs or DWGs only contain vectors, so for all intents and purposes this could be totally normal within the bounds of the format and how the file was originally generated.

Adobe Reder does not do that, nor does any other Adobe software. A google search suggests third parties offer such a tool. How useful they are will depend on the PDF, e.g. if it is a scanned blueprint forget it; if it was an CAD design in the first place you might be able to get back basic lines but not text.

  • Printing to PDF from DWG

I try and print PDF's in AutoCad MEP 2009/2010 and I will loose information and or information does not show up on the finished PDF.  What could be the problem? Help I have no faith that Adobe Acobat is doing its job. I am using Abobe Acrobat 8 Standard with all updates.

Yes, willing to help, printing to PDF form DWG would loose information such as layers and line type, and texts may not searchable, because regular PDF file does not store such information, and if you are using SHX fonts, then texts may not searchable in the PDF file.
AutoCAD 2009 has it’s build in PDF creation tool, please find it from the File -> publish menu, if you have many drawings need to be plotted, then DWG to PDF converter would accelerate this process, it makes things much easier for the printing settings.

    Hi olivias,
It sounds like there may be some confusion on your system about what application should be associated with PDF files. You can reset filename associations by following the steps in these articles (depending on your operating system):

  • PDF to Word Converter

Will this PDF to Word converter retain the original line numbers and margin lines from the PDF?
I produce court transcripts and when I tried to convert it with my CAT software, Word couldn't realize that sometimes you have
information single spaced and sometimes double spaced, but the line numbers must remain fixed  Does this make sense?
(I also need to retain margin lines, headers and footers.)
    For example:
This is the proper typed layout:                              And this is what I got:
1     Case No:  XXX                                                1     Case No: XXX
    2     Appearances:                                                 2     Appearances:
3     Ms. Lawyer, Esq.                                           3     Ms. Lawyer, Esq.
           Beautiful Street                                              4     Beautiful Street
4     Wonderful City, State Zip                                5     Wonderful City, State Zip
Has anybody come across this problem?
I just want to make sure it works before I purchase a year's subscription.     Thanks!

    Good day,
Give the service a try.  Visit http://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html and log in with your Adobe ID credentials (the same username and password you used to post on these forums.)  We offer a 1 file trial conversion.  The results of your trial conversion will probably be indicative of what you can expect going forward.  It's important to remember though that the file-level data present on the input is greatly going to influence the output.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,
    David

Part of the problem in helping is likely that there is no program Adobe -- that is the company name. You are in the Acrobat forum, but it sounds like you have subscribed to Export PDF or such, a different program. The subscription to Acrobat is currently $19.99 per month.

  • Export to PDF- Colour Setting-------Convert to Destination Issue

Have recently synchronized all colour management in adobe CS, after creating new output destination profiles for printing press. All seems well and good when photoshop files are in an kept in RGB with original source profiles. They convert to destination CMYK profile successfully.
However if any of the images are in CMYK with a profile embedded, the end PDF does not convert these to new profile.
According to the info that appears in pop up info when you hang cursor over 'Convert to Destination(Preserve numbers' on the export options for PDF, it says that any image with a profile will be converted to destination.  This does not seem to be happening, its almost as if the image has not got a profile attached, in which case it should then preserve numbers. I went back to double check file to see if this was the case, but the profile is definitely embedded. The only thing that rings slight alarm bells is that i the link info  for profile in Indesign, it says NA (Not Applicable).
Can some prepress work flow expert and colour management guru please help.

Doh!!! I am about to answer my own question, I have resolved this issue.
In my colour settings in indesign  in the CMYK box in the Colour Management Policies
I had 'Preserve Numbers (Ignore linked profiles)' checked. I have now changed this to 'Preserve embedded'
I get it now! I was afraid to use preserve embedded in case it did not change on the destination. It seems it does. I got the terminology the wrong way round.  I hope this has helped somebody else other than me.
    Thanks all!!

  • Are trails of the PDF to Excel converter available?

I have a PDF file consisting of several hundred pages that I must match to existing county government records. The data source we subscribe to, allows us to copy and use the information as we need it. Doing it one record at a time is totally impractical. I can do the comparisons in minutes by pasting the data into an Excel spreadsheet.
The PDF page consist of text box fields that are not evenly aligned, thus gridding the rows and columns is more problamatic.
I work for a local government agency, and have to involve our "IT" department. The $80 dollars for the PDF to Excel converter is within our budget, but we have to know if the application is suited to this type of page.
Can I send a page from the file to get an opinion, or perhaps use a trial version of the converter if available?
I have to hope this is falling on friendly ears.....Is there help?

This is a online conversion service.
