PDF to epub not converting correctly

After I change my PDF to an epub file, it does not look the same. I have two photos per page in the PDF, and when it converts to epub it shows only one picture per page with double the amount of pages?

I may become a PITA for you, but I think you need to step back and
determine how you started this process.....
.pdf is a file format that's been used for documents for what seems like
forever.  It has many limitations, and for that reason, other formats for
epublications were developed.  Those formats permit more flexibility in
formatting text, illustrations and colors that .pdf does.  Adobe developed
the 'epublication' format (.epub) many years ago, and it's one of the
standards in the industry.  There are very few companies that publish
ebooks that don't have an .epub version available.
I don't know why you chose .pdf format for the ebooks you downloaded.  The
results seem unsatisfactory (!).  You say 'the original format doesn't
work' , but you chose it - perhaps not knowing how limited a .pdf file is,
and on the faith that the NOOK supports .pdf.  Digital Editions does also,
but within limitations, because it does not incorporate all of the features
found in Adobe Reader software (which is designed to handle .pdfs).  So,
there's no telling whether the ebooks you purchased in .pdf are using
features not supported by either the NOOK or Digital Editions - until you
run into a problem.
This 'feature' problem is compounded by conversions.  You have no idea when
you start whether the program you're going to use will do the job correctly
because you don't know what .pdf features are incorporated in the original
ebook.  Slowly, step by step, we go down the rabbit hole...

  • Pdf's are not converting to Word

Looking for help on why any of the pdf's are not converting correctly to a Word document. I'm not getting any error messages, but what is converting is jibberish.  Nothing like the pdf doc that I'm trying to convert.
    Thanks!!

    Hello Sara
    Many thanks for your replies.
I went through the following process a few minutes ago:
    I opened the file
    Selected tools
Selected the convert PDF to MS Word
    Proceeded with the conversion
    This took a few minutes
    Received the message
"File successfully converted and saved to you online account "
    Download converted file
It then gave me a save to choice which I selected
This time parts were converted but most was not
And there were numerous errors. Also a wide variety of fonts most of which I was
able to convert to Ariel Size 10 which is my normal choice
but nemerous letters I could not change.
As for the Samsung ViewScan microfilm viewer it is a beautiful piece of technology
for viewing old and poor quality microfilm.
I had not thought about checking whether it can convert to Rich Text but doubt it.
The main thing is I seem to be able to make some conversion but not complete.
Would it be OK to send you a page or two of the files I am working on?
    Again I apprerciate your help.
    Best wishes from Kiwiland,
    Kiwi Bob

  • My document did not convert correctly.  Can I fix it in the PDF version?

My document did not save as it was originally written.  Can I fix it once it has been changed to a PDF?

    Hi iamreadytoscream,
Did you use PDF Pack to convert a file to PDF? What was the original file format? And, can you provide a little detail about what didn't convert correctly?
I think the best approach is to figure out why the file didn't convert correctly. You would need Acrobat to edit the PDF once it's created. And, as Acrobat isn't a word processor, it really isn't meant for major editing or formatting.
Please tell me a bit more about the file that you converted and we'll go from there.
    Best,

  • Pdf files are not attaching correctly to emails. I have tried the reset firefox option but this has not worked.

I use comcast for my email. I have attached scanned doc in pdf many times successfully. Now attachments will not display, when I check the attachment all I get is a blank page with the note the pdf docs may not display correctly

Firefox 19 changed your default viewer for PDFs to the built-in viewer. Maybe it can't handle the scan due to size or other reasons?
To change your PDF handler to the Adobe Acrobat plugin or an external application, you can update one of your application preferences. There is now a support article on this: [[How to disable the built-in PDF viewer and use another viewer]].

  • Email Address Not Converting Correctly from .doc to .pdf

I'm attempting to convert a Microsoft Word document to a PDF.  I have an email address in the footer of the document that reads [email protected] but when I convert it to a PDF, the hyperlink doesn't work correctly.  When I click on the hyperlink in the PDF, it brings up the email address as [email protected]  It completely cuts off the first name!  The full email address displays correctly, but when you click on it, it cuts off the entire first name before the period.
    Please help!

Be sure you use PDF Maker for the conversion. If that does not help, put such addresses in quotes and see if that does the job.

  • PDF to Word(.doc) document not convert correctly

    Hi
I'm trying to convert a pdf file into a word document but i'm unable to do it. the reason is i want to fill in an income tax form which is in a pdf format and i can't add any details in the file...
How do i convert this file into a word doc file, someone can help plz,,,step by step as i'm not really an expert in this field..
    Regards

If you have adobe X, simply go to "File" -> "Save-As" and Microsoft Word is an option. Also, there is a download (paid) called Able2Extract that will allow you to convert pdfs to word, excel, etc. but the formatting is often lost. If you get the premium package, you can even convert scanned documents. I've used Adobe X to do the conversion, and it retains headers, footers and all formatting.
And i personally share you with a article about how to converting PDF files to Word(.doc), you just need to follow the easy guide.
Hope it can help you a lot.

  • PDF does not convert correctly to Word

When I convert a PDF file to Word (either doc or 97-2003), I have to make major changes to the font, formatting, etc.  I may as well have retyped the actual document.  Am I doing something wrong?  Program was too expensive to have to tweak it!

    Hi,
Would you send your PDF document to [email protected] as an email attachment?
I will check it from my end. Please add the link to this forum post for reference.

  • Configuration Views from 3D Reviewer not converting correctly to pdf

    Scenario:-
In 3D Reviewer, I create several configurations, all with the objects in the centre of the screen.
I export to pdf and activate in Reader to view the 3D.
In some, or all of the configuations, the views show incorrectly, sometimes blank because the objects are a long way out of screen view.
A workaround is in 3D Reviewer to go to each configuration in turn and move or pan the view a very small amount.
After doing that, the configurations in the pdf usually display ok.
Is there a way I can fix this, or is it a know bug?
    thanks,
    Ian

    > we do want to create the pdfs from 3D Reviewer as we are using it to add PMI to our 3d models
well, since Acrobat/Reader use camera information from PDF, it may be possible to cut PRC from Reviewer produced PDF
and wrap it again into PDF with correct camera settings using some other tool.
In this way Reviewer does just the PMI part of the work, where it seems to be the only tool available.

  • Adobe pdf 8.0 not outputting correct page size from publisher 2007

i have windows vista home premium with microsoft office 2007. microsoft publisher is not outputting the correct page size when converting to pdf. In Word 2007 i have the document size 4.5 x 6, and if i convert with the adobe add in, the new pdf is exactly 4.5 x 6. In publisher i have a postcard size 8 x 5, when i print to pdf or convert using the converter, it sticks the postcard in the center of an 8.5 x 11 page with crop marks. I can't work with this, i need the pdf to output the exact page size as the microsoft publisher document. i've tried changing page sizes in page setup in the publisher print dialog box as well as the advanced settings in pdf. it doesn't make a difference. it always prints on 8.5 x 11 and centers the postcard in the middle of the page. any help is appreciated

Think of the paper size in publisher (and likely the printer options) as the setting that Publisher is trying to produce when printing. Think of the paper size in the Adobe PDF printer properties as actually putting the proper paper in the printer. If you do not do the latter, you will get the printout properly sized in terms of your setup and printed on 8X11 paper that is put in the printer. They selection of the paper in a printer is not typically an automatic feature of print drivers. One is the sizing issue of the application and the other is the actual paper that is used. If you printed to actual paper, you would actually put in the 8X5 paper or whatever in your printer. If you used 8X11 paper in the printer, then you would likely get the same result you have in the PDF.
There may be two convert options in Publisher (depending on the version of Publisher). One would be PDF Maker, the Adobe add on. The other would be a convert to PDF provided by MS. The latter started coming with OFFICE 2007. Also, with OFFICE 2007 you needed a newer version of Acrobat to get the Adobe PDF Maker (AA8 I think was a minimum). If you use PDF Maker, then you have to select the printer properties in PDF Maker for the paper.
I just did a test sample with AA5 (sorry, that is what is on this machine - but I am sure I would get the same result on my other machines). I created a word processor document with a 5X8 dimension and printed to the margins (set to 1 in). I then printed to the Acrobat Distiller printer (the old name for the Adobe PDF printer) after setting the page to a custom 5X8. The end result of the PDF was a PDF that was 5X8 with 1 in margins of my printing as I had selected. I thus printed with a custom page size in my document and matching page size in the printer properties, getting the expected result. However, I am getting inconsistent results when I try with WORD on this machine.
To be more helpful, I guess I am going to at least have to try my AA7 on my notebook with OFFICE 2003. Those are both behind your version levels, but I would expect the results to be the same. I will also try with my word process that worked out fine here, but did not retain the paper size setting in the driver, when WORD would not allow the size reduction (that is the inconsistency I mentioned!).
I will report back later. Bill
