Pdf to excel conversion fail

Only 36 of the 542 cells in a PDF appeared in the excel after converted. Any ideas on what is going wrong?

Hi, Alexandra.

    Hi DirTech,
Are both of these dates in the same Excel file? If they're in different files, are you choosing the same language for OCR (optical character recognition)?
If they are in the same PDF file, how was that PDF file created? Was it created from a third-party application (rather than an Adobe application)? If it was created by a third-party application, it could be that it wasn't written to spec, and that's why you're seeing some oddities in the PDF > Excel conversion.  (See Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community.)

  • I am trying to export the PDF file and conversion fails every time.

I am trying to export the PDF file and conversion fails every time. File is too large of too complex. What do I do? One file is about 55 mb and the other is 58 mb.

Try extracting part of the file and see if the extracted part can be Exported. If so, repeat with the next set of pages. When done, try to load all into the first file.

  • Do you offer a trial pdf to excel conversion?

I have a few dozen pdfs that I would like to convert to excel to make the data more easily searchable and sortable. Is it possible I could get a trial to convert one of the files to see how it works before purchasing a whole year? Frankly, I have my doubts that it will work given the format of the data within the pdf. Thanks

We do not offer a trial for ExportPDF, however we have a 30-day return policy.  If you try the service and you don't find it meets your needs, you can return your purchase for a full refund.

  • Problems with pdf to excel conversion

I purchased the online converision program, and it is not working. The files either stay in limbo or if I try to open them, they are not legible. I also tried to download the Acrobat Pro trial, and the files don't convert.

I would try asking in the ExportPDF forum,

  • Converstion failed PDF to Excel

Trying to convert PDF to Excel and keeps saying conversion failed.

    Hi paulw83685016,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble converting a PDF file to Excel format. Is the error specific to one file? If so, there may be a problem with the PDF file, which is causing the conversion to fail. Do you know how that PDF file was created? (You can tell my choosing File > Properties in Reader and looking for the PDF Producer on the Description tab.)
For starters, let's try these basic troubleshooting steps:
Try to convert a different PDF file.
Clear the browser cache and log back in. Make sure that you're using a supported web browser (see System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services for a list of supported browsers).
Make sure that the file is 100 MB or smaller, as that is the file-size limit for upload to ExportPDF.
If you're still having trouble, please tell us more about the file or files that you're trying to convert.
    Best,
    Sara

We tried logging in as user/Administrator and running the report from catalog without any error. Also strangely this is evident in only a specific environment. Not sure what is causing the issue.
    Please advise.

What is the size of the attachments of reports you are trying to send thru Agents .? either PDF or EXCEL ?
What does you JavaHost log .?
I think this is a same Bug 14680611 : ERROR CODES: AGEGTYVF RUNNING AGENTS WITH LARGE REPORT AS EXCEL ATTACHMENT
If your are not able to download even smaller attachments/reports then, I would raise an SR with Oracle.

  • Export from PDF to Excel continually times out and fails.

I went through the steps to convert a PDF to Excel turning off the OCR feature. Tried this several times today with or without OCR and I keep getting the error message "Adobe ExportPDF could not successfully export your PDF file (file name).pdf. The conversion of your uploaded PDF timed out."
I don't think I'm doing anything wrong as there are not too many steps to follow.
If I can't get this to do  what is expected (which is convert a .pdf to an Excel file) then I will have to cancel the subscription. I just did sign up for a paid subscription to Adobe ExportPDF. There are others in my department (45 total) who would benefit from having a .pdf to Excel file converter and I have volunteered to become the "beta tester" for this.
If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening, I'd sure love to hear them.

You are not talking about Acrobat, but ExportPDF. Check for the separate forum on that by simply selecting the Adobe Community link near the top of this forum and in the drop down box select ExportPDF.

    Hi there,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the quality of the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equal, and especially those created from scanned documents can be problematic if the scan quality isn't the best. Is there a dark background on the PDF, or stray marks or smudges?
You can try converting with OCR disabled at outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. But, while that's a good test to find out where the problem lies, you'll end up with a Word document that isn't editable, so it's not an optimal solution.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Keep getting conversion failed on exporting files PDF.

keep getting conversion failed on exporting files PDF.

    Hi jfcobb999,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble converting files. Are you converting via the web interface, or through Adobe Reader? Do you have a large number of files in the root folder of your Files list on Acrobat.com?
Let's try these things for starters:
Clear the browser cache and try again.
    Use a different browser.
Make sure that Reader is up-to-date by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
If you have a large number of files stored on Acrobat.com, move some of them into a subfolder.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • PDF's to Blackberry display "Document Conversion Failed"

We are on XI 3.1 - Blackberry's are displaying "Document Conversion Failed" when trying to open PDF documents that were emailed from the Business Objects scheduler running Webi reports. These same PDF documents can be viewed on the desktop machines using Outlook. Does anyone know of any missing software or if configuration changes are needed on the Blackeberry?
Any response would be greatly appreciated.

  • PDF to Excel Issue

    Hello,
I purchased the service today and I am receiving the error listed below. I have filled out the form I saw in other topics and submitted that already as feedback.
"" failed to export to Microsoft Excel.
    There was an unexpected problem.
I essentially tried to export the PDF file in question to excel via Adobe Reader and then via the online page. I also tried both with OCR turned off. I had success experimenting with Word and OCR off but it came out with a ton of blank lines and none of the data. That doesn't change the fact that I need the file converted to excel though. Can I get some help on how I can make this work or can I submit this file to support to convert for me? I don't have a ton of time available for this.
    Thanks ahead.

I very much appreciate your help. As you recommended, I tried the conversion without OCR (useful post is here http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3062) but again with result "the conversion failed because the file is taking too long to process". This option makes the conversion easier but doesn't help in this particular case. This document doesn't contain any pictures so the recognition wasn't so processing expensive to help shorten the time of the conversion.
We are talking about long (hundreds of pages) but simple document formatted as a table. I expected that the conversion to Excel sheet is simple. If the service is  so complicated, why don't use some spool, take requests and send notifications about the result. You can have hours for conversion, I don't care.
And, if the service is so sensitive, maybe some list of limitations and to-do's in case of problems could be helpful - the best on the home page of the product to be informed before making the order. It isn't possible to spend many hours on discussions and forums and read about the troubles of another people to find the solution. Maybe could be a fair solution to give a possibility to try your tool for free with some limitations (number of pages, number of documents or something similar).
I am grateful that we found a solution and I can cancel my order and get my money back. Unfortunately, this service doesn't fit my needs.
