PDF to Excel- internal data errors

We have Acrobat XI and we converted a PDF document to Excel. It looked like it worked properly. However, we discovered when trying to sort the date field, that some of the dates became corrupted in Excel . It affected   the stored values of the dates, not what you see on the worksheet. For example, 1/1/12 became 1-12-2001; 2/1/12 became 1-12-2002. So obviously when we tried to sort on the date field, our results did not look correct. Please note that not every date field is corrupted. Many  of them are fine..
We tried testing to see if the date fields were text, but they are not.  We tried changing cell formats. We tried going into Excel Options and checking "precision as displayed"
We had 2 users in different departments try it and got the same results.

This is not an Adobe Reader problem; it may not even be an Acrobat (or Excel problem).
The problem is ambiguous date formats; what does 1/1/12 really mean?  Computers and software do not have much ability to compare an ambiguous date with surrounding dates that are more obvious.
The best solution is to use clear date formats like 2012-01-01 or 2012/01/01.
Another possibility is to check if Acrobat can be made to change or identify the date format before the conversion.  For this you best ask in the Acrobat forum.

We haven't identified the source of the problem yet. I have
    no trouble
uploading PDFs with any version of DW, so I would be
    profoundly surprised if
    this were a DW problem.

  • In PDF to Excel conversion dates like 03/12/15 convert to Dec 3rd 2015 not the correct date of Mar 12th 2015 whereas date 03/13/2015 converts correctly as March 13th 2015

In PDF to Excel conversion dates like 03/12/15 convert to Dec 3rd 2015 not the correct date of Mar 12th 2015 whereas date 03/13/2015 converts correctly as March 13th 2015

    Hi DirTech,
Are both of these dates in the same Excel file? If they're in different files, are you choosing the same language for OCR (optical character recognition)?
If they are in the same PDF file, how was that PDF file created? Was it created from a third-party application (rather than an Adobe application)? If it was created by a third-party application, it could be that it wasn't written to spec, and that's why you're seeing some oddities in the PDF > Excel conversion.  (See Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community.)

  • Internal data error when uploading images

I have had no problem uploading files and images. Now, I can
upload files, but when I try to upload an image I get FTP error -
internal data error. I also connected directly to my server and
tried to transfer images, but that didn't work either. Does anybody
know what could be causing this?

I've never heard of this, but two things come to mind.
    1) Is a file in question opening being edited in another
    application?
    2) Have you tried passive FTP?

  • "dreamweaver encountered an internal data error" - can't connect to server (CS6)

Since last week I can't connect to all of my websites using Dreamweaver. When I click on connect or switch to the server view I instantly get the error message "dreamweaver encountered an internal data error".
The websites are on different servers and I can connect to each of them using another FTP Software like SmartFTP.
I already used google and found some "solutions" like checking the "FTP timeout time". But even a timeout time of 60 seconds instantly brings the error message.
Also I tried a fresh install of Dreamweaver yesterday but this doesn't help.
OS is Windows 8 Pro x64
Any advice would be great because I can't work without Dreamweaver.

  • Internal data error possibly because of failure to start the upload

This happens when i try and PUT a new file to the remote server.
If i PUT an existing file it works??
    Please help!!

    Hi PNM,
    Copying from the document http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-ftp-problems-dreamweaver-cs4.html
If you're receiving an "Internal Data Error" message when trying to connect in Dreamweaver, it's likely that the server is down. A good way to determine if the server is down is to see if you can connect with a different FTP client. If no client can connect, then there's probably something wrong with the server.

  • Internal data error

i keep getting an internal data error on dreamweaver mx when
i try to ftp. Anyone any ideas?

That error usually means the server has a problem. Verify and

  • Dreamweaver encountered an internal data error (CS5.5, OSX 10.7.2)

Sometimes it works perfectly, other times I get an error.  The strange thing is that I'm using the same site setup in both cases.  It doesn't matter which file or files I'm trying to upload to the remote server.  No problem copying the same files from the local directory to the remote server using an independent FTP client with the same site settings.  Can someone tell me what usually causes the following error? I'm new to Dreamweaver (CS5.5, Mac OSX10.7.2) and have no idea how to proceed.
    Started: 12/13/11 10:15 AM
    553 Could not create file.
My_Equipment.htm - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put My_Equipment.htm.  Dreamweaver encountered an internal data error.  Please try the operation again.
File activity incomplete. 1 file(s) or folder(s) were not completed.
    Files with errors: 1
    My_Equipment.htm
    Finished: 12/13/11 10:15 AM

Is that from the FTP log?  A 553 FTP error is bad permissions.  You are going to need to explain more about your setup to troubleshoot.
-FTP connection type you are using (SFTP, FTPS, FTP, etc.)
    -Server type (Win/Linux)
-Web host (this is a strange one but there is an issue with some larger hosts using invalid SSL certificates like Godaddy)
Also is it only with the one file or all files/folders?

  • Cannot store complete internal data error

    Hello Diadem gurus,
I have some tdms files that I am post processing. I use diadem for that purpose. Some files cause the error "cannot store complete internal data error in the file."
See the attached picture. I assume it may be caused by my page file or a setting within Diadem. Any suggestions on how to prevent this?
Nasty detail is that the source files were actually lost! (I am saving changes made with diadem back into the same file, but in reality it simply overwrites the file.)
    Attachments:
    diadem error.JPG ‏17 KB

    Hi aartjan,
There were a number of improvements made to the TDMS DataPlugin, which debuted with DIAdem 10.1.  These improvements are available for download at www.ni.com/dataplugins for DIAdem 10.1 users.  However, there was one fix made that was too extensive to backport to the DIAdem 10.1 codebase, and this I believe is the one you need.  This last fix regarded the saving of enormous TDMS files.  The TDMS DataPlugin which shipped with DIAdem 10.1 expected to fit all the data values into memory at one time.  The TDMS DataPlugin which ships with DIAdem 10.2 Beta3 is able to buffer the data values to disk, therefore not requiring the entire file to fit in memory in order to succeed in exporting it to TDMS file.
The good news is that if you install DIAdem 10.2 Beta3 you will get the DIAdem 10.2 USI layer along with the correct TDMS DataPlugin.  Then even if you uninstall DIAdem 10.2 Beta3, the newer USI and TDMS DataPlugin will remain and work correctly with your DIAdem 10.1.  You can get the DIAdem 10.2 Beta3 by visiting the www.ni.com/beta website and requesting to participate in the DIAdem 10.2 Beta program.  Once you have requested this, remind me to activate your Beta profile, after which you will be able to download the installer.

  • Error message: internal data error

Dreamweaver CS5 worked perfectly until this morning, when I keep getting error message: An FTP error encountered, cannot link to host. Encountered an internal data error. What's happening?

The full error message reads: “An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. Dreamweaver encountered an internal data error. Please try the operation again.”
I called Network Solutions, who is the host. I opened the Site/Manage site/hiddengardensteps/edit and found the material. I then clicked the “servers” which gave me a box with FTP server and password. The Network Solutions techies told me to change the password, which I did, and the second NS person told me to wait 15 min - 4 hours for the syncing to work.
I get the same error massage now for bikenfly.org which is hosted by Earthlink. What to do?
    Thanks for the quick comeback.

  • An FTP error occurred - cannot put [file name.htm]. Dreamweaver encountered an internal data error

I get the message “Server not responding” whenever trying to add files to my web site via DW. The following message appears: "An FTP error occurred - cannot put [file name.htm]. Dreamweaver encountered an internal data error. Please try the operation again."
I called the hosting service provider, and they said they were able to upload a 20 mb document with no problem. I was also able to upload a document using Filezilla.
Therefore, the problem must be with DW.
When I go to Manage Sites and choose my site and get to the Test Connection button, the test is successful, which further confuses the issue.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Does this help?

    Also check the log:

It is possible it is a host issue but because they use a higher level account to test that they do not see the error.

I'm using HSSF 3.0.2 Final version to create an excel document from java.
This document contains pictures and some text under each picture in a row below. There are four sheets in the workbook and each contains about 30-40 pictures.
