Pdf to report

Hi,
I want to generate pdf from d2k reports. is there any sample pl/sql code to generate pdf from d2k reports.
is it possible to send this pdf as mail attachment from d2k reports directly by pl/sql?

Copy-paste of text in pdf files is usually possible. So, just copy the text to your report, or put the text in a table.
Or use some 3rd party tool to merge your pdf report with the sales contract after your report has finished.

  • Report Rendering (Print & PDF) trashes report that looks fine on screen

    Since installing SQL Server 2012 SP2 CU3 (11.0.5556) a number of reports look fine on screen but when printed or exported to PDF the format is totally altered so that either many blank lines are inserted between lines, or lines are squashed together. It
    doesn't affect all reports. Reports (both affected and not affected) use Tablix with both Row Groups and Column Groups. There is no obvious consistency between those reports that are affected.
    All of our SQL Server instances are hosted on VM-Ware virtual servers.
    I've raised the issue via Microsoft Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/1063641/report-rendering-print-pdf-trashes-report-that-looks-fine-on-screen
    Any thoughts or workarounds? Is this a bug?
    Thanks!

    Hi nsam,
    We installed the sqlserver 2012 sp2 cu3 in our lab, but unfortunately the issue cannot be duplicated, so I provided the following options for your reference.
    1),Please help to provide a way with detail steps to duplicate the issue.
    2),If you don't know how to duplicate the issue, please try to remove the sqlserver 2012 sp2 cu3 update by the following steps to see if the issue can be fixed.
    In Control Panel, open the Add or Remove Programs item.
    2. Click Change or Remove Programs .
    3. To see all the updates for the SQL Server 2012 installation, click to select the Show Updates check box.

  • Correct pdf from report 9i

    Wanted know as it is correct to get pdf from reports 9i. I necessary to get the report with Cyrillic symbol. Use section [ PDF:Embed ] beside me was not got. I have taken Type1 font from resource Acrobat reader 5.0, made sure by means of program fontview.exe from supply Windows that this font contains Cyrillic symbols, has described his use: "Courier New" = "COM_____.pfm COM_____.pfb". As a result pdf file was got with embedded font, but Cyrillic symbols are don't care displayed not correct. When use [ PDF:Subset ] is got correct displayed pdf, but with use font Type3 that on my not quite well.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Using PDF embeding with Type1 fonts will not give you the symbol as the Type1 fonts have characters only upto 256. The way to get the Cyrillic symbols properly is to use PDF subsetting. You need to use either UTF8 or any Cyrillic charcater set and use True Type fonts. Add proper entried to uifont.ali for subsetting. An example would be to add, "courier = courier.ttf". The ttf files location should be included in Reports path. Internaly when doing PDf subsetting, these are converted to Type3 fonts so you will always get that. It works properly with Acrobat reader 5.0 for displaying and printing purpose.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks,
    Rohit

  • Want to upgrade RAC 10.2.0.2 database (2 instances) to 10.2.0.5. DB size is 4 TB. Contains mostly .pdf files, reports. I do not have test/upgrade environment. How much time I can expect it will take?

    Want to upgrade RAC 10.2.0.2 database (2 instances) to 10.2.0.5. DB size is 4 TB. Contains mostly .pdf files, reports. I do not have test/upgrade environment. How much time I can expect it will take?
    How much the upgrade process depends of database size, in this case?
    I have fast boxes  IBM AIX 5.3 , 64 b.

    Appreciate your comments ...
    Yes, sound stupid, regarding test environment, but in reality, is not that much:
    -I do have "preprod" environment, (2 instances RAC) same releases of OS, OCW,RAC ... but DB size is 40 GB!!!  It has all the objects as production, but (again but) it does not have physical standby, as production has. This is not that unusual, knowing that production DB grows very fast, and very large, and business do not want to keep preprod, dev, test databases same HUGE size as production is. Savings ...
    -My DB upgrade depends if application  running on top of it is certified for higher RDBMS release ... looks like they have some problems.
    -Very encouraging sounds comment that DB upgrade does not depend that much of the DB size ...
    - i do not recall from where this info came, but I have heard that R 11.* treats PDF files in different way that R10 did it ... and because of that, process of upgrading big databases which have many items of that type (pdf) can take very long. Any idea about this?
    -Brian, thx ... I'm trying hard to provide DB simmilar size in UPG environment and face all possible pitfalls before I go in production...thx for youe advice. I'm relly interested in how upgrade to 11.* from 10.* traets my pdf-s ... All my TBs comming from pdfs. Everi advice will be wellcome ...

    I am using Report 6i. I am trying to generate a report in pdf format on the web. My problem is only the labels are displayed, while the data is not displayed. No specific error is shown.
    But the same report is working fine when generated in HTML format on the web.

  • Set multi org for pdf generation report template

    Hi I am new to xml/bi publisher reports.
    we have one report which generated invoice pdf files for all the operating units which was developed earlier than me.
    for this we have only one rtf template in which all the formats are defined
    suppose usa the us format and uk the UK format.
    now the requirement is that we have added 2 more operating units so i need to add these operating units to this report to print these ou invoices also.
    for 2 new OU's they are saying use the UK(existing) format.
    Could anyone plaese tell me where should i map the template to operating unit.
    i mean if org id sweeden then i want to use UK template.
    I mean in which level i should change.
    1.Rdf file or template
    i am very new to these reports.

  • PDF generated report in Oracle Forms

    Hi folks,
    I'm new in this forum and I want help on how can I generate a report in PDF format just using Oracle Forms (not Oracle Reports).
    This report will be assembled using some parameters that the user will fill in a form when the program starts. When the user click on a button on the form, based on that information, the program will go to the database to recover some data, and then will assemble the report to be shown to the user in a Adobe Reader screen.
    Is it necessary to use the built in CLIENT_OLE2 or anything else?
    Thanks

    Following these simple guidelines will ensure you have a positive experience in any forum; not just this one! ;-)
    Lets start with some of the basics. What is your Forms version, Client OS version; if web deployed, your browser and Java versions and any error messages you might be receiving.
    ...how can I generate a report in PDF format just using Oracle Forms (not Oracle Reports).What's wrong with using Oracle Reports to produce the PDF file? Manually generating a PDF file means you have to manually format your output and then write it to a PDF file. Oracle Reports is a whole lot easier than this and not prone to the errors you are going to have by manually generating the output.
    If you absolutely have to create your report this way, then I recommend you let the database handle the creation of the file and then simply use Forms to transfer the output file to the client. For this, you would use the WEBUTIL_FILE_TRANSFER.DB_TO_CLIENT or DB_TO_CLIENT_WITH_PROGRESS fucntions to send the file to the client. We need to know the information I request above before we could give you assistance with this.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Hello,
    How do you execute your Reports ?
    Do you execute it from the Builder ?
    If you execute it from the Builder, do you use Run Web Layout or Run Paper Layout ?
    (If you have upgraded a Reports From 6i, there is no web layout , so you have to use the Run paper Layout
    The web layout is something new that appeared in Reports 9.0.2)

  • Show BLOB (open a pdf) from Report in a new window

    I use BLOB Support in Apex 3.2/4.0 (MIMETYPE..) at an IR:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/advnc.htm#sthref2199
    Because my BLOB (pdf,...) should be opened without asking for download or open I use content_position INLINE.
    That works fine, but I would like to get the opened document in a NEW window , not the same window ??
    ( If I klick the download with "open in a new window" it works fine)
    Any idea?
    I remembered Link-Attribute target="_blank" (that works fine)
    So my first idea was
    (1) defining the BLOB column as a Link (type=URL) call APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC and use Link-Attribute target="_blank".
    But APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC needs an ITEM ... and what about MIMETYPE...
    =>It will not work.
    My second idea is
    (2) Link from the report to another page having a hidden Item for the linked ID and
    create an hidden ITEM (having the BLOB attributes) like described at Dimitrie's BLOG
    http://dgielis.blogspot.com/2009/05/using-apexutilgetblobfilesrc-on-public.html
    At this page a process on load before header call APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC with these items as parameters
    => Seems to complicated
    Any better idea?

    Hi,
    You know I have to thank you for the solution as by asking your question you provided me with a way to solve my problem .....
    As double clicking a pdf file when the application is open with no open document works as I want it to (i.e. showing the new document in the existing acrobat window), so I decided to try out a plain vanilla shell instruction in vba instead of the AVDOC.Open statement ... and ....although not very programmatically aesthetic ....  it works.

    below i mentioned the site name whihc i follwed to implement my requirement.
    http://apps2fusion.com/at/51-ps/260-integrating-xml-publisher-and-oa-framework.
    pls help me as i am not getting , how to solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Keerthana

    Hi,
    When we develop simple XML report also we used to get single data source either generated either from RDF or PL/SQL, in OAF XML data is coming from VO and XML Publisher API’s will process that data.
    This approach works fine if you are having one VO, but if you are having two VOs then it is not possible (As per my understanding and comparing this scenario with simple XML publisher report).
    I also faced same problem few months back, on my form I was having two VOs one for header and other for Lines and I have generate Report to show the data for both Headers and Lines. In my case I created a separate VO that was containing both Header and Line details and I was passing header Id to query that. I used query this VO only when someone clicks on “Print” button and it worked fine for me.

  • How to generate a PDF format report

    Hello,
    here i am trying to generate the report as 'PDF' format from the form. after i run the form a parameter form comes up there i give parameter as 'IC' it should get only the IC related report in 'PDF' format. i could do this but after i close the adobe and return to the report its not over writing on the same file where i gave the DESNAME:='C:\KAVITHA8.PDF'. its taking atleast 10 minutes to rewrite on the same file.
    i tried first the following way to get the PDF format output but its not even working.
    host('R30RUN32 C:\AC_REPORT.REP DESTYPE = FILE DESFORMAT = PDF BATCH = YES');
    THIS IS NOT WORKING TOO.
    THEN I TRIED THE FOLLOWING WAY HERE I AM EXECUTING THE REPORT BY HOSTING THE ADOBE.
    THIS WORKS BUT DOESNT REWRITE ON THE SAME FILE, IS THERE ANY OTHERWAY THAT I CAN DO THIS OR HOW CAN I MAKE THIS WORK IN PROPER WAY.
    BY THE WAY THIS REPORT DEVELOPED IN DEVELOPER 2000...
    THIS I NEED FOR MY PRODUCTION, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME OUT.....
    declare
    pl_id paramlist;
    destype varchar2(10);
    desname varchar2(20);
    desformat varchar2(10);
    TEMP_status varchar2(10);
    begin
    pl_id := Get_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    IF NOT Id_Null(pl_id) THEN
    Destroy_Parameter_List( pl_id );
    END IF;
    pl_id := Create_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    TEMP_status :=:W_STATUS;
    DESTYPE := 'FILE';
    DESNAME := 'C:\KA.PDF';
    DESFORMAT := 'PDF';
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM',TEXT_PARAMETER,'NO');
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,'P_STATUS',TEXT_PARAMETER,TEMP_STATUS);
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,'DESTYPE',TEXT_PARAMETER,DESTYPE);
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,'DESNAME',TEXT_PARAMETER,DESNAME);
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,'DESFORMAT',TEXT_PARAMETER,DESFORMAT);
    Run_Product(REPORTS,'C:\AC_REPORT.REP', ASYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id);
    HOST('c:\program files\adobe\Acrobat 5.0\reader\acrord32.exe C:\KA.PDF');
    END;
    thanks in advance....

    All the information you described points to the problem that reports seems can't generate to a file which already exist. You can verify that by simply doing
    r30run32 C:\AC_REPORT.REP DESTYPE = FILE DESFORMAT = PDF BATCH = YES' desname=c:\temp\ac_report.pdf
    several times. If first time the report is successfully generated in c:\temp\ac_report.pdf, but not the second, third time, then it looks like there is a bug on reports r30run32 executable.
    You may try to find any latest patch for Reports 3.0 to see if patch can solve you problem. But keep in mind Reports 3.0 is de-supported, you are better to move to 6i or 9i reports.
    Thanks,
    -Shaun

  • Is it possible to embed a pdf attachment to a pdf output report?

    Hi community,
    The question is a little bit complex, cause we do not know if belongs to Reports or tu E-Business-Suite. Our development Team has just created a report for a list of purchased/sold goods, which output is a PDF file.
    On the other hand, the customer, is attaching a PDF (an agreement) to the items included in the Sales Orders in the Sales Order Window in the Order Management Responsibility. The customer wants that when they prints the report, the agrreement attached to each item in the sales order, will be printed too.
    Is there any way to include the .pdf attachments in a .pdf's output report?
    Thanks

    1. This is not a OAF question, reports forum would be a better place to post the query.
    2. I had the same requirement of merging multiple PDFs in oracle Quoting, what I did was get a third party code from net which joins two PDFs.
    So, you need to do this
    1. Have a request set, with two conc programs
    2. Program one in the request set would generate the PDF report as it is doing now
    3. Program two in the request set would go back to the order, see if there is a attachment, if yes, pulls it, calls the third party java PDF merge program, merges both the PDFs and then generate the output, which is a consolidated PDF/
    Thanks
