PDF to TIFF error: Image is too wide to output Acrobat X Pro

I have been using Adobe Acrobat X Pro to convert PDFs to TIFFs.    All of the sudden this week I am getting an error saying the Image is too wide to convert.  These are files I previously converted without a problem.  I am specifying resolution of 360 pixels in the TIFF settings (which is what I have always used).  I installed the latest maintenance (10.1.12) but still get the error.  The files are 17" wide x 11" high. Any idea why I am getting this error all of the sudden and how to fix it?  I send the files to a colleague on the same Acrobat Pro X release and they do not get the errors.  Reboot resolves for 1 file, then the error comes back.

The issue should be the resolution.  I've had this same issue before so I'll give you a walk through of what I did.  You will need to reprint your current PDF to a new PDF with a new resolution.  Upon doing that, the new PDF will need to match whatever resolution is being required by whoever is needing this TIFF File, if there is not a requirement just pick one (such as 300 DPI).
1) In your existing document select Print (Ctrl+P)
2) Change your current printer to "Print to PDF/Adobe PDF/ ETC..." (whatever it is called)
3) Select Properties and a dialog box called "Adobe PDF Document Properities" should pop up.
4) Select the tab labeled Paper/Quality
5) Select "Advanced..."
6) There is an option for graphic that should have a print quality labeled " XXXX DPI" (could be anywhere from 72, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 3600, 4800), select what you want to use, click OK back out to the basic print screen, and print your new PDF and label it whatever you want your TIFF's to be called. (I use 300 as that is what a city I submit to requires for plans).
7) Open your new PDF, and on your menu bar at the top select EDIT (right next to file) then select "Preferences" at the bottom on the drop-down menu. (or on your keyboard use "Ctrl+K" for a faster way to get to preferences)
8) From there select Convert from PDF then select TIFF from the list of options from the box in the middle> then select "Edit Settings..." under the box on the far right that has the information about how it saves TIFF Files currently.
9) There should be a "Save As TIFF Settings" Dialog box that opens up and at the bottom there is a place under "Conversion" that says resolution.
10) Change the resolution to whatever your new PDF was saved and and that should fix your problem!
I know some of this was basic stuff but I see this question come up in different places and no one has really mapped it out like above. Hope this helps!

  • Clipboard export failed because the image is too wide to save as a PICT

Am I the only one who keeps getting this message in a new window,
"Clipboard export failed because the image is too wide to save as a PICT"
    while working in Photoshop?
I know little about a PICT file, except that it's some kind of file.
Seems to pop up out of nowhere after I've been doing some copy/pasting.
The really annoying part: it never shows up while I'm still working in PS,
it's only after I click onto a folder or start working in another application.
THEN the message won't let me do anything with the folder or application,
but instead returns me to the PS screen for a few more seconds, then fades out.
It's only after the fade-out that I can click on a folder or use
    another application.
I have plenty of RAM (50%) and backup drive space assigned to PS, and
again, this does not happen while still in a PS screen. Using Cache Level 6.

While I haven't seen that particular message, I have had the "clipboard is too large to export" message. What you need to do is go to the Photoshop preferences and tell it to NOT export the clipboard. You should be able to find it the General section of preferences, just UNcheck the box in front of "Export Clipboard"--of course, if you copy something in Photoshop that you want to paste into another program, you'll have to re-check it. But bear in mind the limits of Clipboard.

  • How can I change the default pdf reader from the installed (but not yet registered) Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to Adobe Reader XI?

How can I change the default pdf reader from the installed (but not yet registered) Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to Adobe Reader XI? I'm having some hiccups getting Adobe to register the software, but since I set it as the default .pdf reader during setup, things try (and fail) to open in the as yet unregistered software. How can I change it temporariiy to the Acrobat Reader XI that I have installed?

    Anubha,
It worked! Thank you so much.
I'd opened file with the 'Open with' feature then clicking Adobe Reader,
but that didn't do it. When I used 'Open with', then 'Choose default
program...', it worked like a charm.
    Again, thank you!

  • Error message "paper too short to autoduplex" on Officejet Pro 8600

I have this problem with my new HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  I have standard letter size paper in Tray 1, and have all the printer setup set for letter size paper.  No matter what program I print from, I recieve the error message "paper too short to auto-duplex". I click the close button, and the page prints.  It is aggravating to take the extra step to close this error message every time I print.  I shut the printer down for 30-60 seconds and this took the problem away. Is this normal?  Will I have to do this often?

The fix is available in printer firmware (Software within the Printer). You can download it from hp.com and install from you pc to printer.

  • Error when combining Visio 2010 files in Acrobat X Pro

Getting the error message No PDF was created because Acrobat encountered an unidentified error when i try to combine Visio 2010 files into one PDF with Acrobat X Pro.  Ive done this many many times before and it worked fine.  It also works fine on another PC in the office with the same software installed on it.  It just decided one day to quit working.  Ive tried to reinstall both programs without success.  I dont have this issue with any other type of file just Visio 2010 files.  I can go into Visio and convert the file there and then combine it with other files after it has been converted as a seperate PDF file, but that is alot more cumbersome than just drag drop and combine.  How can I fix this?

Did you updates X or have 10.0.0? The updates are required for use with OFFICE 2010.

  • Error 1067: when trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and have been using it for over 3 years. I Changed computers and uninstalled it from my first and then reinstalled it in my new, but have run into a problem that I cannot find an answer to, nor can I get any help from Adobe.
I will be notified that there are updates available and I will select yes to update the program, but after 20-30 second, a new window will pop up stating:
    Update Failed
    The process terminated unexpectedly.
    Error: 1067
    Details   (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-errors-acrobat-reader-windows.html)
From there, I will click on the Details link and be sent to an Adobe page telling me:
Try downloading Reader directly from this page.
This link sends me to a page to download the latest version of Adobe Reader (http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/), so, I will make all of the selections, download it, install it, restart my computer, but when I open Acrobat 9 Pro and try to run the update again, nothing changes and I receive the same error message.
Now, I go to try and get some help from Adobe, but am just sent here to see if I can find out any other information because they "no longer" help with Acrobat 9 Pro(?).
Does anyone have any answer on what I can do to fix this or why this is happening? I've never had any problems with this program before. It just all started when I changed computers, and this one is a brand new computer, so no bugs or anything. I installed Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5 and InDesign CS5 without any problems and they all updated without a problem.
I'm not sure how important the updating really is, but it makes me feel better, knowing that any changes or problems with the program can get "fixed" with these updates.
    Thank You,
    Sean

Not that it is going to ease the testing of your patience at all to suggest you try somewhere else, but there is a forum dedicated to Acrobat Installation and Update Issues that might have some info or people ready and able to help you:

  • Error 193: When trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Any help?

I have had Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for a few years and have loved using it. I have always updated the program and kept it up to date, but I have run into a problem.
I was changing computers, so I deactivated all of my Adobe products, uninstalled them and deleted all of the information from it. I then start working and installing the programs into my new computer when it froze and crashed. I ended up having to return the computer and have it worked on, but I did deactivate and unstall all of the programs from the computer before doing so. Now I'm back to my old computer and have started having some trouble. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, went in to run the updating, but as soon as it checked and let me know there were updates available, I said start and a box popped up reading:
Does anyone have a reason the occurred and what options I have to correct this? I searched and read that  one of my options was to go into Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows) and run the updates manually, but that would mean downloading and installing over 20 updates, one by one. I know that I don't have to keep restarting my computer after each one and only after the last, but there has to be another way. That would take me a couple of hours where I couldn't leave my computer.
I did try to uninstall the program again and then reinstall it, but no I had luck there. I received the same error message telling me that the update failed.
Can anyone help me let me know why this is happening and what I can do to prevent/stop this?
    Thanks,
    Sean

Updater downloads all the updates into AllUsers folder.
Somewhere in the path to this folder you most likely have a file that has the same name as partial folder name.
For example, on XP this folder is C:\Documents and Setting\.."
If you have a file C:\Documents.exe Updater will fail with error 193

  • Error Code A12E6 during the installation of Acrobat XI Pro.  Help?

Hi, I successfully downloaded trial version of Acrobat XI Pro, but ran into problem when I clicked Adobe Application Manager.  The dialogue says:" Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the installation process (Error Code: A12E6).  Can someone please help?

I suggest that you ask in the appropriate Acrobat forum (this is the forum for Acrobat.com online services).  And tell them your operating system.

  • Error 1061 when downloading free trial of Acrobat XI Pro

I am attempting to download a free trial of Acrobat XI Pro on a PC running Windows 8.  While downloading, I receive an error message of "Windows Search Error 1061:  The service cannot accept control messages at this time."  I have tried stopping the Windows Search service through the admin services in my Control Panel but receive a similar message (or one indicating that other services dependant upon Windows Search are running).  Can I "ignore" this error and continue to succesfully download the trial version?  Or, is there a way to stop this service until the download is completed?  I am not an IT professional, so any advice is appreciated.

Don't know, but I would suggest to just try ignoring it and seeing if you get a successful download. Of course, when you install you need to be logged in as the administrator and disable anti-virus. An online search for the error suggests the problem is a WIndows configuration issue. The one site I found had a fix tool, but I do not generally recommend downloading such fix files. Another site suggests a corrupt registry.
You might try the CCleaner tool to see if that can help with the registry. However, I would just continue with the download if you can and see if it works.

  • I try to save a pdf as a tiff file and get the message the image is to wide to output?

I am trying to save a map I have in PDF format as a Tiff file. When I "save as other - image -tiff I get the message:

  • Printing Error, Images print too small - postage-stamp-size

When I print from Photoshop (CS4 or CS5 - this has been going on for a while) the result is always a tiny image which apperas in the upper left corner of the page - about the size of a stamp - no matter the size specified in the PSD file.
To illustrate the printed page looks like this:
    I expected this:
The print dialogue box looks like this:
I have tried tweaking setting - nothing I have done impacts this error.  It occure 100% of the time and only with Photoshop.
My work around for the last few years has been to "Save As" a PDF.  Open the PDF and print it from Acrobat.  This always works and is not a huge labor, so I've just gotten used to doing it.  But I'd really like to understand why this is happeneing and to avoid the 'work-around' when I need a quick glimps of a hard copy.
Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

I'm getting the exact same problem as described above, although I'm running a Mac with OSX.  I have an HP Photosmart C310 all-in-one (no fax, though) printer.  I tried creating a new printer profile, but the problem remains.  Any other solutions folks have heard of?
ADDENDUM:  Well here's a dumb luck fix.
I checked the "Scale to Fit Media" box
and this tells me that my 3 in x 3.5 in picture (which, by the way, is listed as these dimensions in both the image and canvas sizes) will now be 7.285 x 8.499 in.  Ok.  Let's  try.  When I printed it, the image came out the proper size.
It's wrong, and I don't care.  It worked.
