Is it possible to continue syncing contacts and calendar events between Outlook and the iPhone 4 using iTunes after iTunes version 10.1.2.17 without going to the "Cloud"? Has anyone accomplished this?
I would like to be able to continue using my iPhone with contacts and calendar events synced to my Outlook client on my PC and do it peer to peer locally without having all of my personal contact and calendar data end up on the "Cloud" somewhere out of my control.
I have not seen a way to do this using iTunes on any later version than 10.1.2.17. Has anybody else figured this out? Is there a solution or has Apple removed this option (keep it peer to peer local) entirely?

Using axbridge.dll without going through the JRE installation process

I've searched the web and this forum for this specific problem, and have found related items, but nothing that quite answers the question.
I have an application that uses the JRE's axbridge.dll to access a DLL created from a Java bean. I used the packager to create a DLL named MyBean.dll.
When I go through the full JRE install, everything works great. That is to say, when I execute Sun's JRE installation program and go through the normal install process, I can access the bean through MyBean.dll without any problems.
I am accessing MyBean.dll from a Visual Basic 6.0 application. Converting to VB .Net is NOT an option at this time. The VB app uses MyBean.dll for a critical part of the application.
It is my understanding that it is not strictly necessary to go through the full JRE installation process. Simply deploying the JRE by copying its directory (and all subdirectories) to your application's directory structure should be sufficient. This would be HIGHLY desirable for my application. In fact, if I can't do this, it may be a show-stopper.
When I install my application in this way (i.e, by simply copying the JRE instead of "installing" it) it doesn't work at all. I immediately get an error saying that the executable "has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and a dialog is displayed offering to send the problem information to Microsoft.
The details indicate clearly that the problem occurs in the axbridge.dll, version 1.4.2.60.
1. Any ideas on how to get the axbridge.dll to work without going through the full JRE install?
2. Are there any alternatives to using the axbridge.dll to get my VB app to be able to use the Java? Remember, it is VB that must call the Java, NOT the other way around.
3. Is JNI an alternative? If so, can I use JNI to get VB to use Java, or do I have to write the DLL's in C++?
Any help you can give would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

This is confirmed with process explorer : excel is using "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_05\lib\rt.jar" and not "C:\win32app\Specific\jre1.5.0_05\lib\rt.jar"
In other word, the axbridge check for its installation location in the registry to know where to start.

- I've used Firefox exclusively for around 2 years.
- My outlook express has no problems
- other programs seem unaffected; it seems peculiar to Firefox.
- my main use is surfing the net, primarily entering competitions on line via specialist competition sites.
- every day at some stage(s) I have to switch computer off as Firefox has got very slow/sticky/freezes.
I'm not techy by any means, but I can only thing of un- and re-installing to hopefully start with a clean slate.

Here si what I do:
Since I tend to message with teh same people I leave the messages available to me. If you are in one conversation with "Karen" and want to message with "Kathy" tap the message back arrow and select Kathy.
As always just be careful to rememeber who you are messaging to!

Regarding preventing someone from taking the quiz without going through the content...
I decided to separate the quiz out of the project as a separate item.
We are going to use a Learning Management System which will house the module to control the access.
The LMS can be set to not allow people to click on the Quiz link, until they have gone through the content. (So they cannot by-pass the content and just do the quiz).
I was trying to find a way to control this from within Captivate 5 and keep people from being able to click on the quiz without going through the content. (And keep the quiz inside the original project).
However, this LMS solution will work for this module.

Solved! Music was in Itunes folder but not in Media folder within that. It doesn't seem like a very user friendly system so far!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You can restore your iPad with your iPhone backup but items that are iPhone only will not transfer. It should recreate all your folders. It can't hurt anything to try.

What installed iPhoto there in the first place? Was it the same version of iPhoto that came with the Mac? Was iLife added at a later time from a Mac Box Set? You can selectively install iPhoto, and then apply the appropriate iLife update without taking it to the shop, after removing the application, or recover it from your backup.

For this code to work, you need to empty the first frame and place all the photos a frame ahead. Then, place this code on the first frame. DONE!
If you need more help, I'll try to answer it the fastest I can.
Oh, and I could actualy make your photos fade out and fade in as they rotate from frame to frame, it would be awesome. Just tell me if you want me to do it. Good luck

After calling AT&T tech support one more time, and explaining to them that the glitch was on their network, they admitted that the problem was at their tower...
I continued to use the phone on EDGE mode for two more days until the problem was fixed.
I even got a call back from a tech support guy asking me if my phone was working properly....
I wish they would have admitted to the problem before I sat at the apple store for 2 hours.
