PDF video continues playing after leaving page

Hi all,
When I publish a video as a PDF, it plays through Adobe smoothly. However, when I click on a hyperlink within the PDF video linking to Youtube or somewhere externally, the PDF video keeps playing causing 2 audio stream overlapping.
Is there a way to pause the Captivate PDF video after leaving the page to watch a Youtube video via hyperlink?

Use an FLYPlayback component to stream the video and when you are about to leave the frame execute its stop() method

No there is no particular limit, especially one as short as 4 minutes in the Flash player or a Web page in general.
The video file may have been corrupted before or during upload to server.
Test the original video file on your local machine, does it play the entire length? is so, notice the file size.
Compare that size to the file size of the video on the server... if they are the same, you might want to re-upload anyway.
Your video file will also have a web address that specifies exactly where it is located on your server. Do a direct download and test the file to see if it is courrupt.
It will have an address something like this:
http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/chris_test/tombstone/video1.flv
So download your file directly from the server and play on your local machine to see if it's longer than 4 min.
Could it be that your Web host only allows certain size files (no videos over 4 min for example)?

Youtube video stops playing after 11 seconds

Mac Pro / Mountain Lion 10.8.2 / Flash 11.4 - YouTube videos stop playing after 11 secs. Only just started happening last week - around time when I installed latest Lion upgrade but this may be a red herring. Tried uninstalling Flash and reinstalling with no change. Checked/emptied cache.

There are several topics with similar symptoms, but I don't think anybody has found an answer yet, as it only occurs on some few systems.
What I would try if I encountered the same problem:

If you have lost all sound and video is freezing on you, that ain't good. Your iPad is two months old so I would not hesitate to contact Apple at all. You are entitled to 90 days of phone support.

If you want to try a couple of things on your own, try quitting all apps and then reboot the iPad - not so much for the sound issue itself - but more as a general "start all over again" sort of approach. It might help with the video freezes.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you use headphones on occasion, you can try plugging and unplugging those as well and see if the sound comes back.
You could even try restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but unless there is something totally hosed on the iPad, that should not be necessary with a two month old device - of course assuming that you didn't drop the iPad or do something accidental that could be causing the problems.

Why do some YouTube videos stop playing after a short time?

Since sometime in October, 2013, I have noticed that more and more YouTube videos stop playing within a minute of starting. Most that stop do so in 15 or 16 seconds. The playing stops because the download stops. I watch this on a network activity monitor I always have running. Not all videos do this, but the problem is becoming more and more frequent. Some videos which played correctly for me in the recent past are now exhibiting this problem.
Other than installing the latest Firefox updates I have NOT changed the software on my machine. I run Linux by the way. I do not think this is a Linux problem because (1) it was all working before and (2) my son who runs both Mac OS X *and* Windows is also seeing the same problem. We both use Firefox as our browser on all our platforms.
I should also note that I am NOT seeing this problem with any of the other video websites I use, only when I go to YouTube. That leads me to believe that the problem is not in Firefox; if it were it should affect videos from all websites.
Additionally the problem occurs whether or not I log into YouTube.
I have not run Firefox in safe mode because all the extensions I use did not affect the download of Videos before, so I don't expect unchanged extensions to suddenly start causing problems.
So, anyone else see this problem? (There was another note which talked about the same problem but it was disabled.)
Also -- pardon my paranoia, but -- I need to ask: Since YouTube is owned by Google and Google has its own browser it wants you to use, Chrome, is it possible that Google is intentionally causing some YouTube videos to fail if it sees that they are being sent to Firefox?
(That is not so outlandish I think. Microsoft WAS at one point caught mangling web pages going to certain web browsers other than IE. And these days Google wants to dominate the Internet just as badly as Microsoft does, so why not pull dirty tricks too?)
If this keeps happening I am going to have to try Google's Chrome to see if it somehow manages to play YouTube videos correctly while Firefox does not. But I really do NOT want to install Chrome because I trust Google about as much as I trust Microsoft, which is to say Not At All.

There have been some issues with Flash 11 in the recent past. This could be a manifestation of that issue. Kindly check this response below to see if this helps you in viewing Flash videos.
Also, if you want to check if this is a flash problem and specifically on youtube, you can try the HTML5 version of Youtube. In this, there are no plugins involved, and the browser natively renders the videos. You can signup for the HTML5 trial by visiting http://youtube.com/html5. Please try that and check if the issue goes away.
Also, in this case, Google might not be doing anything sinister - they generally try to be standards compliant too. You can definitely try installing Google Chrome and test this issue, but we definitely would want you to continue to be a Firefox user :)

The video player mentioned in your opening remark is for a QT player, not a Flash, so for that you would not be using those Flash .swf files.

Also, you are using 2 different paths, one in the <object>:

You didn't mention what browser/s you have tested in and you didn't mention if you are testing the videos directly (click on mp4 file and open directly in QT) or if you tested in a browser locally before uploading to server.
Does the Browser you are testing in have a QuickTime pluggin? if not, the video will not display

How to stop youtube videos from playing after restart

every time I restart firefox (currently 24.1.1 or 14.0.1) any tabs with youtube videos start playing and I have to wait until after restart is complete before I can find it/them.
is there a way to stop this?

I don't know of a way to stop auto-play on restart only. There are some extensions that can stop auto-play in general (i.e., all the time). I haven't tried any of them myself, but it looks as though these might help:

Videos Not Playing After Publishing

I am using Captivate 7 for Mac and uploading to the Litmos LMS platform. In preview, my videos are playing just fine. When I publish to zip and uploading to Litmos, they don't play. I get a little grey/white striped box making it look like it's loading, but nothing ever loads. This is super frustrating and I don't know the fix. I'd love to hear ideas on how to make this work - or at least ways I can troubleshoot.

Make sure your video files are placed in the same publish directory as the main SWF and that the link to these videos consists of nothing but the video filename. The video filename should contain no spaces or punctuation characters and should ideally be all lower case. Then after uploading to your LMS, make sure that the LMS administrator can confirm videos of this mime-type have been explicitly allowed on the LMS web server.

No sound, video stops playing after few seconds

I have a problem with my Flashplayer. When i watch videos on
websites like Youtube of so, sometimes it happens that my
Flashplayer doesn't play the sound. The video will play for about
two seconds (the whole video is loaded) and than, just stops
playing. I can just drag to another part of the video, from which
two seconds wil be played again. After i refresh Firefox, the
problem usualy is gone. Does anyone else have this problem and more
important, who can tell me the solution...?

Almost all people mention: 2 seconds, no sound, works for
some time after Flashplayer uninstalled and re-installed, seems to

yes, they are SWF 8 files, and i see them separately after i
publish from captivate...is there a way to force them to embed (if
thats better)? it seems like it kind of randomly decides which it
wants to do.
also, i do have the source files and i'll try that blank
frame and let you know if that fixes anything. thanks!

Continuously playing music changing pages

I have created a website with Muse, great program!
I also have created a html embedded player and put it on the stramien page, thinking the player should be continuously playing when scrolling throug the website!
But when I change the page the player restart with its song!
How can I change this?

There are few ideas you can use :
- Open the player in a pop-up window which should play audio continuously with different page navigation.
- Use frames, main frame for page and small frame for audio player
- Create single page site with scroll and anchors for different section of page, so that you don't have to open separate pages.

Spotify on iPhone continues playing after removing output device (f.e. headphone, airplay speaker)

I like Spotify and the built-in playlists a lot! But since one of the last version, I annoys me from time to time. Hope you can fix this! Common situation: I stream music at home from Spotify App on iPhone to an airplay speaker. When leaving home and losing the connection to the airplay speaker, Spotify automatically stopped playing in former versions which was great and common to other music apps on the iPhone! Now, since one of the last updates, Spotify continues playing, f.e. on the iphone speaker, when the former speaker is no longer available, f.e. headphone or airplay speaker. Meaning, it continues playing in your pocket when leaving home. Other music apps stop playing when you remove the audio output. Which is the known and wanted behaviour on iOS. Another fancy thing:1. Stream music to an airplay speaker2. Plug in headphone, music continues on the headphone3. Remove headphone, music continues on the airplay speaker4. Remove airplay speaker or leave the network, music continues playing on the iPhone speaker Ugh. :/ The Apple Music App on iPhone for example stops playing when losing the output device (airplay, headphones, ...).It might be a feature in the Spotify App to keep music running but please offer a setting to keep iPhone standard to stop when removing speakers. Moreover, and this is really annoying, this new feature makes Spotify to continue playing even if the playlist has not been synchronised for offline playback. Means, it automatically eats your included cellular traffic when you leave your WiFi. :((( Could you please fix this? Or add a setting to not continue playing music on any output device radically?
