Hi,
I am using EPM 11.1.2, created few FR reports and Installed Ghost script in the Server where Reporting Analysis compenents are installed.
I am able to run the report and view the report on web.
But when i am trying to view the report in PDf fromat from the workspace , it is showing Page can not be displayed error page.
I do not see any output file created in
E:\Oracle\user_projects\epmsystem1\FinancialReporting\printserver\PDFOutput
Even the log does not even show me the detail message

Stupid question but are you running this on the server? Does the server have a pdf reader installed? The ghost script simply provides the conversion or bridge of the financial reports to a pdf context.
I get that message when the report is ran directly on the server due to not having adobe reader installed.

    Hi,
If you are talking about FBL3N or any other FI customer subledger report, then Yes and No.  If you have customers extended to multiple sales area, then no, if there is a one to one relationship with the sales area then yes.
    Cheers.

  • No PDF viewing via the iphone?

Can anyone tell me how to view a pdf file?

Not sure about Safari. But I've had good fortune viewing PDF files (as email attachment). With software update 1.1.1 you can view the PDF in portrait or landscape mode. I tried to double-click to zoom in - doesn't work for me.
So, to make the PDF large enough to read: Downloaded a Project Gutenberg text book and opened it in MS Word. Then changed the margins to one-half an inch and formatted all text as Times Roman, 20 point. You can use whatever font your prefer (and it will display accurately). The 20 point size comes out clear and viewable without the zooming ability.
I know this is a really lousy solution, but at least it's good for now and doesn't involve the chance of "bricking" your phone with a 3rd part app. Apple's customer service says the PDF can be as large as 8 meg. I've only tried up to 1 meg - but it worked fine.

  • Permissions - Viewing PDF Instances of a Crystal Report

I have the following registered and installed products.
    Crystal Server V1
    Crystal Reports V1
I have a number of crystal reports setup to schedule to create a pdf output instance.
I am trying to allow specific Active Directory Groups access to view the PDF instances of the Crystal report. The users are only allowed access to view the PDF instance not the Crystal report. The users will view the pdf instance within InfoView.
Can someone please let me know the correct path, as I have been through the permissions and have set everything to allow and the report nor the pdf's show.
    Thanks for your assistance.

    Does not look like you are using this in a .NET app at all(?). That being the case, you're in the wrong forum. And if this a high priority, having BOE you should have phone support. I suggest you contact support via phone. Else, you can create a case here;

  • PDFs look different in Adobe reader and Acrobat professional compared to the built in PDF viewer on windows 8

    Hi there,
I have been trying to narrow down an issue we have been having for some time in printing PDF files and finding that they look different on paper compared to screen.  Up until today our big KIP plotter got the blame, but as I have been collecting notes on a little windows 8 tablet I noted that PDFs opened in the windows PDF viewer have the same visual defects as the printouts.  My example today is that on a CAD drawing there is a small box/frame with a number in their, I tried printing and the frame was completely blacked out.  As a test I tried saving the PDF as a TIFF file from Adobe Acrobat professional and this file had the same fault as the printed copy.  When I open it in the windows 8 pdf viewer I can see that there is a shading within this box that does not show on Adobe Reader (latest version 11.0.10.32), the adobe reader and acrobat pro version both show a white background to the box.  We have been having lots of issues with sections being missing from drawings and overly feint lines.
I am not sure where to start trying to narrow down why we are getting different results in different PDF readers.  Is there anyone who maybe able to point me in the right direction?  It almost feels like the shading or colour density is not being consistent when PDFs are being opened in different packages.
    Thanks in advance
    Andy

Some PDF viewers comply with the PDF ISO Standard (ISO 32000) "just enough" while others (such as Adobe's) fully comply.
As with anything there's a cost to using anything that comes from a "just enough" approach.
    Be well...

  • How can I get the View Tab name on the Crystal Report Viewer at runtime?

When a report is displayed in the Windows Forms Crystal Report Viewer and the user drills into the report, the drill down view is displayed in a seperate view and is identified via a View tab at the top of the report.  I can determine the index of the view tab that is currently selected, but I need to access the text that is on the View tab.  The only properties that I've found that pertain to the "view" on the Crystal Report viewer are the ActiveViewIndex and the ViewCount.  Unfortunately, neither of these items help me because they are not specific to a certain section of the report.  Has anyone had any luck accessing the View Tab properties ?  Thanks.

The tabs at the top of the page are nested within some of the viewers controls. Through trial and error you just have to find the right one. In this case the main part of the report is in the first control. This happens to be a TabControl. From there you can loop through the TabPages on the TabControl to grab the names of the tabs.
Here is a quick example of what I did to get the tab text. All this code was in a button click event.
    Control oControl = crystalReportViewer1.Controls[0];
    TabControl oTabControl = (TabControl)oControl.Controls[0];
    foreach (TabPage oTabPage in oTabControl.TabPages)
         MessageBox.Show(oTabPage.Text);

  • A checked checkbox is rendered as unchecked in default pdf viewer of firefox. It is checked when the pdf is opened with adobe.

I am using DynamicPDF to render a PDF. There are multiple check boxes which are checked. When the PDF is opened in Firefox, none of the check boxes are checked. However, when I save the PDF and open with Adobe, check boxes are checked. There might be a problem with the Firefox built in PDF viewer as the built in PDF viewer for other browsers work fine.

Current Firefox versions have enabled a built-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have or may not function properly otherwise.
You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.
You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not the built-in PDF Viewer).

  • Hide the design view for the report

    Dear All,
I would like to block or hide the design view for the Crystal report.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,

    Hi Raja,
It is not possible to hide the design tab in Crystal Reports.  However,  in Crystal Reports 2008,  there is the ability to password protect a file.

  • E-mail Application not recognizing PDF Viewer on Pre

I am having trouble getting the e-mail application to open attached PDF files using the PDF viewer app. Any PDF file I attempt to open that was attached to an e-mail gives me an error message, "Cannot find an application which can open this file." I have taken the exact attached file from my PC, downloaded it to the PRE using a USB transfer, and am able to open it in PDF Viewer on the phone. I also tried to send myself a word document (.docx file), and was able to open and view that file through an E-mail attachment. I was previously able to open PDF files, and I assume I lost that functionality with the latest software update. I would appreciate any thoughts, or suggestions, as I am unsure if this is a software issue or something I can fix with some kind of settings. Thanks.
    Palm Pre P100EWW webOS 1.3.1
    E-mail is through Hotmail.com
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I have the same problem with my PRE. However, I noticed that the viewer will open PDF documents produced by "Amyuni PDF converter". So, depending on which software is used, the PRE will open or not the PDF file. I have called Palm about this (in sept of 09) and they said they were looking into it. It would be nice indeed to have a PDF viewer which would open all PDFs.

  • Acrobat Reader DC - auto defaults to .PDF viewer

I work in an enterprise environment that supports around 1200 computers.  I have about 80 users that have various versions of Adobe Acrobat Pro installed on their office computers.
When we upgraded our reader product to DC and deployed it, all of the computers with Acrobat Pro installed had their default viewer changed from Acrobat Pro to Reader DC.  I have not had this issue with other previous versions of Adobe Reader.
I have the Adobe Customization Tool set to "Installer will decide which product will be the default."
It is my understanding that with this selection, the installer will set the default .PDF viewer to the most secure version. (of course this is going to be the new Reader DC program)
I have already found a registry change that removed the welcome screen.  Are there any other fixes, flag, switches that I can take advantage of to have the installer not change the users default viewer?
I have a lot  of users that work only with Acrobat Pro and get a bit upset when their default viewer changes.  Our technicians have to remote into the individual computers and switch the default viewer manually.  If we had to do this each time Adobe releases an update, it would not be a sufficient use of resources.  I would like more control over this.  What are my options?
    Jared

    Hi,
You can use the LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP property as described here (Installation options — Acrobat Customization Wizard DC for Windows).

  • PDF viewer for Firefox?

Does anyone know how to view pdf files from the firefox browser? I downloaded the pdf viewer and it works with safari, but I usually use firefox.....
    Thanks

moscowotters, the extension you referred to doesn't work as advertised on the Mac version of Firefox: it brings up the dialog as expected, but if you choose "Open PDF," the PDF still launches Adobe Reader or Preview, rather than opening the PDF in the browser.
Sadly, PDF viewing in the browser appears to be limited to Safari for the time being.

  • Preview pdf files in the desktop with Adobe Reader Touch .. is it possible?

preview pdf files in the desktop with Adobe Reader Touch
    .. is it possible?

Windows Store apps (including Adobe Reader Touch) do not offer the preview capability in the desktop environment.  That's just how Microsoft has set up.  So you need traditional desktop apps.
Because your operating system is Windows 8 (not Windows RT), you can find a lot of desktop apps that are compatible with Windows 7 and 8.  (For Windows RT, only built-in Microsoft Office products are available for desktop apps.  But that's not the case here.)
You can download Adobe Reader XI (which is also a free PDF viewer) from the following Adobe Reader download page
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
and install it on your Windows 8 desktop.  (Note for Windows RT users: Adobe Reader XI is not compatible with Windows RT.)
In case you have any questions about Adobe Reader XI (desktop app), you can visit the Adobe Reader forum.

  • FF 19 and PDF viewer issue

So the latest version of Firefox 19 comes with a built in PDF viewer.
The problem that I found is that this viewer at its present time does NOT show fillable fields ina PDF, or let the user type into these fillable fields, or show the electronic print and instructions buttons we place at the top of most of our PDF "forms".
    Ex: http://www.tmcc.edu/financialaid/downloads/forms/1213/FINAConsortiumAgree1213.pdf
This form should show buttons at the top and let a user fill it out. It does with the Reader plugin. In FF 19's built in PDF viewer I cant seem to do anything.
We presently make all our PDF forms fillable, so if this is an issue, hopefully a fix or update can be found.

This new viewer was an ugly surprise. I DO NOT want pdfs to open in Firefox. I want FIrefox to give me the option to open or download. If I select open, I want it to open in my copy of Acrobat (not the Reader), and certainly not inside Firefox. Can anybody help me?
