PDF View Problem

PDF files look  blurry...used to be ok.

Hi Jeff,
I need to work on UWL Documentum and I have absolutely no idea of it as I am very new to EP let alone UWL. How to integrate Documentum to UWL? As I am new you will have to provide me step by step solution. Can you help me achieving my target?
PS: Will reward you full points.

Amit.

  • Is HP/Palm working on a fix for the PDF viewing problems

For several months, I've been having issues viewing PDFs on my Pre, and though I find lots of information confirming same, I can't find any evidence that HP/Palm is doing anything about it.  Getting tired of sending myself links so I can view PDFs on a computer....what about it HP/Palm?
While I'm not happy I fell for all the hype about Flash support, I'm probably more upset I can't even view many PDFs using this device.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

hi, there are a couple of treads on the problem from Spring 2010:
    http://forums.palm.com/t5/webOS-Software/PDF-viewer-bug-v1-4-5/m-p/308929
    http://forums.palm.com/t5/webOS-Software/Post-1-4-5-Pre-Freezing/m-p/319306#M20781
    http://forums.palm.com/t5/webOS-Software/Pre-PDF-problems/td-p/302069
zoom in and let the device wait for the Pre to autopower off. The bug happens with PDF and all office apps.

  • Palm Pre v1.40 PDF viewer problem

Since I installed this update, my PDF reader doesn't function properly.  Either it doesn't open the document, or it opens it to fit the page, too small to read, and the resizing feature doesn't work.  If I go to the open selection on the menu, all it does is open a 44 page document that is, of course, too small to read, so I have no idea what it is.  Has anyone else had this problem?

From webOS V 1.4.1.1 release notes under PDF Viewer
"Pinching in/out to zoom out/in now works correctly"
meaning as you would expect.  pinch out makes PDF bigger; pinch in makes PDF smaller.
    and double tab works, too.
The Pinch Out/Pinch In/Double tap documented in HELP for PDF View.
However, you can only get to HELP after you open PDF View and open a file, then you can touch upper left and select Help.  (In my opinion, this is error.  You should be able to open Help without opening a file).

  • PDF viewing problem in iBooks app

Please advise me how to solve this issue, thanks.

on the GoodReader site they talk about JPEG2000 image compression as being a problem. See the link..

  • Pdf viewing problems in yosemite

We've upgraded our lab computers to Yosemite. The only problem we've noted so far is that the horizontal bars on our reports (PDF files) do not show up on the screen in Preview version 8.0 on Yosemite on any of our Macs old and new alike. They print as normal and view as normal in a browser. I sent the report to a friend who opened it on her windows computer and the bars appear as normal.
I tried the only setting within Preview that I thought might be related. That is Preferences>Images>Define 100% scale as: I had it set on 1 image pixel equals 1 screen pixel. and tried changing it to Size on screen equals size on print out. Changed it and restarted Preview but it made no difference.
Does anyone have any ideas of what else I should try?
    Thanks for your time.

Just upgraded to Yosemite on a Mac Mini. Some but not all of our business forms on pdf will render improperly on the screen. They print the same way as they show on the screen. Safari displays and prints properly. Sometimes Preview will tear the screen image horizontally, and sometimes blocks will be displaced, with the same document at different times.  On one document parts of a few letters were scattered aimlessly all over the document, but this from a text block added by an Apple Store app after the pdf was originally written. I think it is a parsing problem within the pdf specification. Pdf is OK. Interpretation of what is within the pdf is not ok.
Use "open as" and choose Safari until Apple fixes it. I don't trust Preview today. It was a really nice app on Mavericks. I miss it. You could do more stuff than just look at a file.

  • Documentum PDF view problem

I am unable to view a documentum PDF within Transaction VF03 using the 'services for object' option.  The problem occurs when the dialogue box pops up, and when "OPEN" is selected, it opens in NOTEPAD instead of Adobe.  If I choose option "SAVE", it recognizes it as PDF format, saves to local computer fine, and opens in Adobe without issue.
Two other points:  The same process on the same computer works for our QA environment, but not the Production environment.  Also, the Production environment works for some local machines, just not all.  The Adobe version is the same (tried v 8.0, but standard here is v6.0).
This problem occured due to a third-party archiving tool and a problem in the way it sent the PDF file into SAP for viewing.  We resolved by correcting that tool.

  • Acrobat 8 Standard PDF View problem

I am having trouble with Acrobat 8 Standard not showing a PDF I open. It will open the document fine, but all that displays is a gray page. I have tried repairing the installation, and re-applying all patches, but it is still the same. The selection pointer disappears when I move it through the grayed out page, like there is some layer blocking the view. I have checked through the settings numerous times, I don't see anything that looks incorrect...

This was happening with various PDF's, I don't know how some were produced. I made a 1 page document from Word, and created a PDF out of it, I had the same results. I did find out that using a different account on the same PC, Acrobat would behave normally. I still don't know exactly what caused it, but I have re-created the profile to get around it.

  • Illustrator and pdf view problem

Hello, I am completely stumped by this one:
Created a document in Adobe Illustrator cs5
    1 Visible layer
    1 Hidden layer
Saved a copy as a pdf
The visible layer and the hidden layer are both seen on someone else’s computer using Reader version 10.0.1.434
I am using Adobe Acrobat X Version 10.0.3 and can not see the hidden layer, only the visible one.
I create pdf's for proofs all the time like this and have never had this problem. I have done nothing out of the ordinary. I do not understand why I can not see the hidden layer and someone else can on their system. I have tired opening up the file as a Google image as well, and still do not see the hidden file.
I know I should not be able to see the hidden layer, but why can someone else see it?
Thanks in advance for anyones help.

I took a look and what would do this is if your client has Apply Layers Overrides checked
The three small white filed and black stroke paths are on a hidden layer that only shows it I make it visible or have this option checked.
Tell them to uncheck the option.
I am adding this as well if you check that option then save as from Acrobat X 10.1.0  as Acrobat 1.6 this happens when you reopen it but if you have it save with Acrobat 1.8 the hidden layer will not be visible even after a save as unless you check this option again.
Leads me to believe your client is working with Acrobat 7 or 8

  • Pdf viewing problems

I am having issues viewing pdf files that have been downloaded from my works website.  It is a flash based ordering system that exports spreadsheets as pdf files for client's viewing.  I have downloaded adobe reader for now( I hate this program), but I would love to use preview like I do with all of my other pdf files.
If I try to use preview this message appears.  If I use adobe reader the message comes up fine.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Safari takes giant unannounced liberties with my pdf images.
This file: http://homepage.mac.com/jsjudds/fuzzExample.pdf is an image of 121 crisp-edged colored squares. Viewed in Safari (and Preview), all the squares are all blended into their adjacent ones, like camera lenses looking into stage lights. In Adobe Reader it looks as intended, and thankfully it also prints well (even though the view in the print panel is also wrong!).
It's very disconcerting to know that my trusty tool is likely at any moment to vacate reality and show me something that is far from what's really in the file.
    What is causing this?
How can I prevent it or control it?
At the very least, how can I detect that it is happening, without having to open everything in Adobe Reader to check it?
The image was generated in Mathematica 6.

  • Firefox pdf viewer garbles embedded text on some of our pdfs (on Mac OS Mavericks). They're fine in Safari or when downloaded. This is a major problem.

Firefox pdf viewer messes up text on pdfs and makes them unreadable. These fonts are embedded, so there shouldn't be a problem. The pdfs are fine when viewed in Safari or Chrome browsers. Also fine when viewed through Acrobat. Telling me to change my default browser isn't good enough. Visitors to our web site won't know this.

The latest stable and latest development versions of the built-in PDF viewer are available as an extension and these version can possibly perform better than the version shipped with the current Firefox release.

  • PDF View Search Find Problems

FInd/search function in PDF view application still not fixed in WebOS 1.4.  In PDF View application:
    1) The field where you enter something to search/find is hidden by the name of the PDF document title.  It doesn't go away even when you start typing, so you can't see what you are typing.
    2) The count of the number of matches found looks greyed out and very hard to read.
    3) The up/down arrows in the top right next to the count of matches does not work.  Shouldn't they take you to each consecutive match?
    4) Why doesn't it position you to page in the document where the first match is found?   It shows the page number at the bottom, but since the up/down arrows at the top right don't work, I have to click the forward page arrow and then the backward page arrow to jump to the page containing the first match.

I don't know how to point Adobe to a certain printer, but the printer we are using does have that paper tray size.
So just to add some more clarification, its BO XI R2 and:
If I run the report in Deski, then save it as a PDF on my desktop, it is formatted properly, no problems at all, and no need to point Adobe to any printers. If I view the same report in Infoview it's split into two pages unless I chose "View -> Draft Mode". If I chose "Page Mode" it's split on two pages, if I chose "PDF Mode" (for printing) it's split into two pages and that is a problem....

    Any help? hint? :(
    Mahmoud Moravej
Here's a hint. Find out why whatever you are using to view the .PDF file can't search for the unicode characters you placed in the created .PDF file.
Also have you tried using Microsofts Character Map tool to copy the Unicode character you want to search for into the search box of the .PDF viewer you are using in order to search for the same unicode character to see if that works? And how are you entering
a unicode character to search for into the search box of the .PDF viewer you are using? What happens if you select a unicode character in the document and paste that into the search box of the .PDF viewer then attempt to search for that character?

  • Pdf view : jumping back problem ?

Hello. I've been having an issue lately where i view pdfs on Acrobat.com, and when i drag the sliders up, the page first jumps to its top, then slides normally from where it should be.
Correct behaviour while dragging sliders to the bottom : pages flow one after the other smooth.
Same thing is awaited the other way. But here, if i drag fast, my window will "blink" with a subliminal of the full page i'm reading...
who can i contact to send this as a private file (document is not mine and can't share on an open forum, and i didn't find a bug form)

    Hello Franck,
Thanks for posting. We're investigating the issue you report with the PDF viewer; we've seen something like this before, so I'm confident that we'll be able to find a fix for you. Could you tell us what browser and operating system you're using, we will reply with further instructions.
