PDF Viewer shows "Image1"

We have Webaccess 2012 running on SLES 11.
Everything works great except certain PDF email attachments. All email attachments can be downloaded. All Office documents can be viewed, but some, not all, PDF documents only display a blank page with "Image1" in the upper left hand corner when viewed. All of the PDFs that are a problem in WA open or view with no issue using the GW Windows client. I have not been able to discern any difference between to "good" and "bad" PDFs.
Has anyone else seen this issue?
TIA

We are seeing this with some Word Files, Doc or Docx "A failure occurred in the document conversion process. The document cannot be viewed at this time"
Mostly on macs with Safari but have tested it with firefox - same issue. Had it happen on Windows 7 IE9

  • PDF Viewer - Shows HUGE!

When I'm creating my form...I usually have my viewer set to 85% in the Design View tab. However, when I click over to the PDF Preview tab, the form looks as if I've magnified it to 500%. It's SO HUGE and scrolling to view is timely. I have both Pro 8 and Reader 8.
I've tried fixing this issue and shrinking my viewer - down to 25% is as small as I can go to where I can view it normally. However, when I click back to my Design View tab, I have to re-do the viewer percentage again. It's a pain to go back and forth fixing this!
    Can anyone provide a solution?

  • Why does the Safari PDF viewer plugin show up in mission control?

Whenever I swipe to activate mission control the PDF viewer plugin of Safari shows. This obviously doesn't happen if I do not have a tab with a PDF active in the browser, but why does it show anyway? I have tested Firefox and Chrome and their PDF plugins do not show in the mission control view, so why does Safari's? How can I get rid of this? It makes loading expose' view a little choppy (compared to when I dont have to use a PDF in Safari) and looks weird. I have attached an image of how this looks.

deleting the adobe plugins in Library worked for me:

  • Default pdf viewer Reader icon in finder shows Acrobat

I previously selected Acrobat Pro as my default pdf viewer. I then changed back to Reader, however in the Mac Finder I am getting the Acrobat Icon. I changed All Files to Reader, but the icon will not change back.
Am running Reader 11.0.2 and Acrobat Pro 9.5.4
Operating system Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5

    Hi ,
Please See the below Steps :
    Step 1
Single click a PDF file you wish to open or any PDF file in general while holding the control key. Then select 'Get Info' from the menu you've opened.
    Step 2
Under the heading 'Open with,' the current default application for opening PDFs is listed. If there is no application listed you may need to click the triangle to the left of 'Open with' so that it points downward to reveal the current setting.
    Step 3
Click on the application listed to open a menu displaying additional applications. In this menu locate the most recent version of Adobe Reader. If Reader is not listed or an old version of the software is listed select 'Other' from the bottom of the menu.  Navigate through your Applications folder to locate the icon for the Adobe Reader application and click to highlight it. Click the Add button to select Reader.
    Step 4
Back in the information window click the 'Change All' button so that all subsequent PDF files will be opened by Adobe Reader.
    Step 5
Click the Continue button to confirm that you'd like to change your settings. Now all PDF files will be opened by Adobe Reade

  • PDFs look different in Adobe reader and Acrobat professional compared to the built in PDF viewer on windows 8

    Hi there,
I have been trying to narrow down an issue we have been having for some time in printing PDF files and finding that they look different on paper compared to screen.  Up until today our big KIP plotter got the blame, but as I have been collecting notes on a little windows 8 tablet I noted that PDFs opened in the windows PDF viewer have the same visual defects as the printouts.  My example today is that on a CAD drawing there is a small box/frame with a number in their, I tried printing and the frame was completely blacked out.  As a test I tried saving the PDF as a TIFF file from Adobe Acrobat professional and this file had the same fault as the printed copy.  When I open it in the windows 8 pdf viewer I can see that there is a shading within this box that does not show on Adobe Reader (latest version 11.0.10.32), the adobe reader and acrobat pro version both show a white background to the box.  We have been having lots of issues with sections being missing from drawings and overly feint lines.
I am not sure where to start trying to narrow down why we are getting different results in different PDF readers.  Is there anyone who maybe able to point me in the right direction?  It almost feels like the shading or colour density is not being consistent when PDFs are being opened in different packages.
    Thanks in advance
    Andy

Some PDF viewers comply with the PDF ISO Standard (ISO 32000) "just enough" while others (such as Adobe's) fully comply.
As with anything there's a cost to using anything that comes from a "just enough" approach.
    Be well...

  • How do I change the default PDF viewer on my iPad so I can easily see annotations?

I keeping missing annotations on PDF because the built-in iPad Mail viewer does not show annotations.  To limit the keystrokes, instead of  using "open with" on each PDF email attachment to view in a third part app, I'd like to just change the mail default viewer. Is that possible with the current iPad operating systems?

No it is not possible to change the default pdf viewer in mail.

  • How to display a table view and a pdf view on one page?

    Hi,
I want to build a portal page, at the top of the page , there will be a table view,
containing a list of employee, below that is a pdf file showing the profile of the selected employee.
i have finished the two parts separately, but since the pdf display require to set the response type of the page, so i think it's not possible in integrate the two parts into one page.
so do i need to use iframe? or is there any other design to solve my problem?
    thanks and best regards.

You can create main page & call other two pages which u already created using
    <b><frameset></b>
    <frameset row = "30%, 70">
      <frame src ="tableview.htm" />
      <frame src ="pdf.htm" />
    </frameset>

  • How to make firefox open a URL in a PDF document which is loaded using Adobe PDF viewer in firefox to always in a new browser window ?

    Hi
I have a web application which would enable users to see a list of PDF document on the web page and when the user select the PDF document, it will be open by a adobe PDF viewer.
Within the content of the PDF document, it will contact URL links to some other portal web pages which we would like these other web pages to be open in a new browser window, but our testing shows that the new web pages may not always open in a new browser window.
Could you help to advise how I can enforce that new web pages that are clicked from the PDF document can always be open in a new firefox browser window ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Sen Lee

    Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Did Adobe Acrobat/reader stop providing browser integrated PDF viewing(addin) for Internet Explorer?

Did Adobe acrobat and reader stop providing browser integrated PDF viewing capability for Internet Explorer?
Hi, I have been trying to view PDF's directly on my browser (Internet Explorer 9). We used to be able to have this available. To be honest last configuration that did work was Internet Explorer 8 with Adobe Acrobat 7. But I recently tried with Intenet Explorer 9 with Adobe Acrobat X and did not work as expected (I tried to activate the add in for Adobe but the adobe addin for PDF did not show up) I have the following questions:
    1) Do you still provide PDF's viewing capabilties on Internet Explorer?
    2) If yes: Is there a propper Add-in we (users) are able to install for Internet Explorer?
    3) if yes: Do we require to have Adobe Acrobat to have this capability? (this was my experience with IE8 and Adobe Acrobat 7)
    Additional Info:
There seems to be an addin for Chrome wich works as expected (opens PDF in browser) to this current date. This does not happen on IE.
    Thanks in advance.

Are you using the 64-bit edition of Internet Explorer?
The Adobe Reader/Acrobat plugin is 32-bit, and will not work on a 64-bit browser.

  • PDF document showing up blank in Reader 7.0, 8.1.0 and 8.1.2

I have a PDF document that does not render correctly under Reader 7.0, 8.1.0 and 8.1.2, on Windows XP SP2.
When I load the PDF, I will see part of the document page display correctly in the view area. As soon as I scroll the view area, the new area will show up as blank. If I scroll back to the original visible area, it will now be blank too. Print preview will also show the document as being blank. Printing gives a blank page.
If I close and reopen the document, I will be able to see again the part of the document currently visible in the view area, but scrolling will again make it turn blank. This happens only with this document. Other PDFs display fine.
The document also displays fine in Adobe Professional 8.0, and fine under the Apple PDF viewer app in Mac OS X. I have tried upgrading, reinstalling Adobe Reader and the problem remains.

The PDF is from an external source, so I can't give a 100% accurate answer.
File properties give the Application as "Canon", PDF version "1.3".

  • PDF View Search Find Problems

FInd/search function in PDF view application still not fixed in WebOS 1.4.  In PDF View application:
    1) The field where you enter something to search/find is hidden by the name of the PDF document title.  It doesn't go away even when you start typing, so you can't see what you are typing.
    2) The count of the number of matches found looks greyed out and very hard to read.
    3) The up/down arrows in the top right next to the count of matches does not work.  Shouldn't they take you to each consecutive match?
    4) Why doesn't it position you to page in the document where the first match is found?   It shows the page number at the bottom, but since the up/down arrows at the top right don't work, I have to click the forward page arrow and then the backward page arrow to jump to the page containing the first match.

I don't know how to point Adobe to a certain printer, but the printer we are using does have that paper tray size.
So just to add some more clarification, its BO XI R2 and:
If I run the report in Deski, then save it as a PDF on my desktop, it is formatted properly, no problems at all, and no need to point Adobe to any printers. If I view the same report in Infoview it's split into two pages unless I chose "View -> Draft Mode". If I chose "Page Mode" it's split on two pages, if I chose "PDF Mode" (for printing) it's split into two pages and that is a problem....

  • PDF viewer bug/ v1.4.5

This is still not fixed. Try this- open a PDF, zoom in on an area and wait for the Pre to autooff. When you resume, the PDF viewer has crashed.. There is a spinning circle in the top right corner and if you enter a new page number, the total page count disappears.
Also, when are we going to get an app that uses the accelerometer? My Nokia and Samsung terminals rotate the screen when you move the phone.. maybe its me, but I don't consider this an option these days, it's basic functionally. Only the browser app works in panorama.. With PDFs and the tiny screen, you need to zoom and the extra width would really useful.
Finally, with a touch phone, you kind of expect to be able to swipe to the next page or back a page. Instead, you still have to hit an arrow..
Post relates to: Pre p100ueu (Movistar)

To confirm, no this problem has not been fixed on WebOS 2.0, but that's because it's not a WebOS problem. All of the apps from WebOS 1.4 were merely ported for 2.0 for usability with the new version, so any bugs appearing in the 1.4 version are sure to show in the 2.0 version as well.
On a side note: it would also be possible for some bugs to appear in the 2.0 version that aren't in the 1.4 version, so perhaps Palm hasn't fixed the problem yet because they are trying to find a resolution that works for both versions.
P.S.: The accelerometer works on the following native apps: Web, Clock, Camera, Photos, Videos, Facebook, QuickOffice, and Help. I do agree, though, that there should be more use of it since the compass is being included in the Pre3. Why have such extras built into the phone if support for this hardware is not there? (Rhetorical question unless someone from Palm/HP cares to answer it)

    Intel i7 2.8 GHZ Processor
    8 GB System RAM.
In Acrobat and Reader XI (and X as well) the PDF viewer Plugin does not work. In fact it doesn't does not even show up in the Addons > Plugins.
There are three, only one appears:
The Adobe PDFViewerNPAPI.plugin only shows up.
When I try to open a PDF  in any Browser that use Mozilla's Gecko engine. Just see a Bright white Screen.
I don't use Chrome or Safari on Principle. But have tested  and works fine.
Other Browsers that use webkit works just fine.
Since posting this to Plugins which no one has even read. (group appears non functioning) I decided to post here.
Just to make make sure another Plugin is not interfering I removed all my Plugins and just installed the the three Plugins above. Same issue. According to addons > Plugins
    only the NPAPI plugin exist.
I've posted a Bug report once again Like I have been doing on this problem since the switch from OSX.1 on Up for acrobat/Reader every new version that comes out.
Maybe someone that knows what the problem is can let me know what to fix.

Where are they advertising it? Perhaps there's more up to date information but I look in
http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/tech-specs.html - maybe the problem is that I'm looking at Reader, not Acrobat?
