PDF Viewer support for PDF Highlight annotations

Hello. The built-in PDF viewer installed with Firefox 19 does not appear to support PDF Highlight annotations. Is there a time frame for implementing this annotation type? Thanks.

I quickly looked at the list of [https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues?labels=&milestone=&page=1&state=open hundreds of open issues] for the PDF viewer project, but couldn't figure out what was happening with highlight annotations.

  • Did Adobe Acrobat/reader stop providing browser integrated PDF viewing(addin) for Internet Explorer?

Did Adobe acrobat and reader stop providing browser integrated PDF viewing capability for Internet Explorer?
Hi, I have been trying to view PDF's directly on my browser (Internet Explorer 9). We used to be able to have this available. To be honest last configuration that did work was Internet Explorer 8 with Adobe Acrobat 7. But I recently tried with Intenet Explorer 9 with Adobe Acrobat X and did not work as expected (I tried to activate the add in for Adobe but the adobe addin for PDF did not show up) I have the following questions:
    1) Do you still provide PDF's viewing capabilties on Internet Explorer?
    2) If yes: Is there a propper Add-in we (users) are able to install for Internet Explorer?
    3) if yes: Do we require to have Adobe Acrobat to have this capability? (this was my experience with IE8 and Adobe Acrobat 7)
    Additional Info:
There seems to be an addin for Chrome wich works as expected (opens PDF in browser) to this current date. This does not happen on IE.
    Thanks in advance.

Are you using the 64-bit edition of Internet Explorer?
The Adobe Reader/Acrobat plugin is 32-bit, and will not work on a 64-bit browser.

  • PDF Viewer plugin for Firefox 4 on Mac

Firefox 4 on Mac would not come with a plugin for pdf viewing, you need to install the file below (just copy and paste in your browser and allow to install):
    http://firefox-mac-pdf.s3.amazonaws.com/fx-quartz-pdf-1.2.0.xpi
(you need to run Firefox in 32 bit mode ! go to applications, select Firefox and open "get info", check box for 32 bit mode)

Those links have more info on Chrom plugins and how to enable or disable them.
    From the first link:
By default, Chrome uses a built in viewer to open PDFs. If you've disabled the built-in PDF viewer, Chrome will use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader to display PDFs. Follow the suggestions at the first link if you're having trouble viewing PDFs within Chrome, using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
First check if the issue is specific to Chrome. Try opening PDFs in another browser on your computer, such as Firefox. If you experience similar problems viewing PDFs in another browser, the issue is likely not related to Chrome.

  • Acrobat support for PDF 1.4

Are there any plans to stop supporting PDF 1.4 in Adobe Reader?
    Thanks,
    John Sulik

I seriously doubt Adobe will do that since PDF 1.4 is the basis for PDF/A (PDF for Archive).

  • Container Layout Web Item supported for PDF Printing (Stack 11)

Dear all and Mr. Prakash Darji
I had an information that PDF export would be supported for Container Layout Web Item with SPS11. We hrecently have installed SPS11 but the functionality is still not available.
Does any one have more info on this ? Has SAP changed the plan ?
The current document at the service marketplace about functional enhancements on the following link does not say any thing about this.

I' an APEX newbie and believe I am having the same or a similar problem. I am (for now) developing a system using the hosted Apex development system online. I have created a Report Query which works fine with the default layout. I downloaded the XML (tried both sample data and schema) into Word 2007 with the BI Publisher Template Builder. I used the table wizard to create a simple layout containing all columns with no customization at all. Saved as an RTF, uploaded to Apex as a Report Layout, associated it with the Report Query, clicked Test Report -- and I got nothing.
When the is a PDF, I get the same error you mention ( Adobe Reader could not open the <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded ). If I switch to an HTML file the out is just a blank screen.
If I switch back to generic report layout, it works fine. This suggests there is something wrong with the template, though it looks fine in Word with the sample data.
I've searched the forums and Google for the better part of a day. What am I missing?

  • ICloud support for .pdf file format

Help mentions iCloud supports .pdf file formats, but then does not show anything about how to get one of these files onto iCloud.  Since the pdf files I have were never created by one of the supported Application how does one place or retrieve a pdf file to/from iCloud?
    Thanks

PSE 4 does do 16 bit - although there are a limited number of things you can do at that depth.
It has essentially no support for actions.

  • Is there a PDF viewer plugin for flash?

We are building a tool to view documents that currently exist as PDF files and will view future (yet to be created) PDF files.
I'd like this tool to be a Flash based tool, however I've heard that there is no PDF viewer for Flash, is this still true with the latest version or future versions to come?
I am familiar with the ability to convert PDF to SWF and view SWF files via a Flashpaper viewer... however :
    1) We ran into a limitation with SWF files in that interdocument links and internet links originally in the PDF do not work in SWF/Flashpaper - a showstopper.
    2) The version of Flash we reviewed for this might have been old and not bleeding edge. The tool we are building would be best developed if it could display the already 1000s of created PDF files it will be used to view instead of having to convert each one initially and then in batch mode for new PDFs.
Thanks for any clues or suggestions on this.
    John

To clarify, this tool is being developed as a standalone flash player tool and not a browser based tool.

  • PDF viewer options for Intel Core devices?

Is there any way to view pdf files in web browsers with all the tool features previously available with Adobe Reader in Safari? I can get the pdf to load, but no menu bar to navigate, resize, save, etc. What are folks doing?

Joshua, I'm sorry the PDF Browser Plugin 2.2.3 (I assume) hasn't
    helped with what you want.
I don't think I did anything different to install the plug-in than
what you describe. I am looking now at a PDF file with the
little tool bar, as shown on their site, displayed below the
location box and above the image. It may not have all the tools
you have in mind, but the left-most button lets you pass to an
external PDF viewer (choosing from a list of what you have
available on your machine) if you want to do something else.
    There's also a right-click pop-up menu of functions too. I have
    the plugin in Users>MyUser>Library>InternetPlugins myself.
I think we are all, apparently, missing an overview of how this
is supposed to work. There seems to be a great deal of complexity
    behind the scenes.

  • Mars support for PDF/A

Is is possible to produce Mars files being PDF/A conform we
can use for long time archiving?

PDF/A is a standard for the PDF 1.4 format. Mars isn't PDF,
so may be the rules for PDF/A conformance don't match or are
insufficient. The Mars format includes many workflow problems of
the PDF format, so there will be a need for new standards
describing subsets for special use cases, like data exchange
(Mars/X?) and long time archiving (Mars/A?).

  • PDF viewer to manipulate pdf files

    Hello,
I am using MySQL and JSP in order to create a website.
In a table from the database i have store pdf files using the data type BLOB.
How I can manipulate these pdf files from the JSP?
I have search that the Java PDF SDK might do that job. Is anybody that has used
    it before?
Please help me as soon as possible.
    Thank you in advance

Current Firefox versions have enabled a new build-in PDF Viewer and that viewer doesn't have all the features that the Adobe Reader has.
You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options > Applications".
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.

  • Firefox PDF Viewer Displays Specific PDF Incorrectly

I have a PDF hosted on my website that displays incorrectly when loaded in the FireFox PDF viewer. I would like to simply fix the PDF so that it looks correctly. I understand there are ways to circumvent the PDF viewer, but I have not been able to get any of them to work for me. Is there a style guide or something that can help me fix the PDF so it loads correctly on the website?
    The PDF is: http://www.tiresafetygroup.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2013/05/Modern-Tire-Designed-for-Profit-WEB4.pdf

It already looks a lot better in the Latest development version, although I still get the notification bar.

  • How do I stop Firefox from opening a blank page before my selected PDF viewer opens a pdf email attachment?

When I receive an Outlook PDF attachment and open it, Firefox starts and a blank page opens. After Firefox has opened and the blank page opens, the PDF viewer I am using opens the PDF. I have the options settings set to use Filecenter.exe as the PDF viewer. I have changed this to use adobe and the blank page still opens. I have set Firefox to be the default viewer but Firefox will not open PDFs created by certain CAD programs. I would like for this blank page to stop opening in Firefox. Does anyone have a solution to correct this problem?

  • Support for PDF form editing in Acrobat Pro XI and futire versions?

Will Adobe Professional continue to support the creation and editing of PDF forms after Forms Central? Can I import my Forms-Central PDF forms into Acrobat XI? What are the plans for future versions of Acrobat Pro - any cancellations planned for forms-features?

    >. I understand that this LifeCycle Reader Extensions allows for such a result
    That's correct.
    >but I have not clue how to add this funtionality to my already created PDF?!?
LiveCycle Reader Extensions is a product. You buy it. Note that the
price is "on application" and varies with your company's needs, but is
typically either tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is to
offset the "lost sales" of Acrobat which people would otherwise have
    to buy to save forms.
    > I have downloaded the trial version Adobe LifeCycle Designer 7.1 (which appears to have full functionality for only 60 days)in hopes to just add this capability
There are many products with LiveCycle in the name from Adobe. That's
    a different one.

  • Adobe Reader v10.4.4 support for PDF with attributes

    Hi there,
I recently downloaded Adobe Reader v10.4.4 for my iPhone. I was just wondering if it supports PDFs with attributes?
To test I created two PDFs using GIS application called MapInfo Professional:
    1. PDF without attributes - this one was able to open succesfully
    2. PDF with attributes - this one could not open and threw an error "Not a valid PDF document"
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for your speedy reply. Yes, I forgot to mention, these PDFs can open up in my desktop version of Adobe Reader (v8) for Windows.
PDF with attributes means that there is records (attribute data) contained in the PDF which is being saved into the PDF when it was created using the GIS application. For example if looking at postal area: PDF map, ID number, place name, population, area (sq m) values etc.
The specific tool/function which allows these attribute values to be exposed is called the 'Object Data' tool (under Tools > Object Data in the desktop version)
(I have attached a screenshot showing these attributes in the desktop version so you may get a better understanding hopefully! Pls see link below)

    Thanks,
