PDF viewing online is faded in colour (blue)

I’ve encountered a fade out effect whenever I view a pdf file on the screen (online). I've tried to change the settings under general, but to no avail. Please advise. My firefox is of the latest version. Previous version was okay.

You have to take the computer to the Apple store to the computer checked out.
Try PRAM reset and Startup in Safe Mode.

  • How to view PDF slideshow online?

I created a PDF in Acrobat Pro and used the slideshow features in preferences and came out great. When I upload the pdf file to the server to view online, it looses all the slideshow capabilities. I would like for people to view it online with the slideshow features. It just comes up in a scroll form and doesn't look good.
    Thanks for your help!

You might set the initial view to be full screen and see if that does the job (even in the browser). At the end you might want to add a button to leave full-screen mode -- many folks are not aware of the use of the ESC key on a PC or whatever the equivalent is on a MAC for getting out of full-screen mode.

  • Why doesn't Adobe Reader XI load when viewing online PDFs?

This is probably a stupid question, but I noticed something odd last night.  I have Adobe Reader 9 on my netbook and Adobe Reader XI on my main computer.  I had been browsing some online PDF files on my netbook, and in Adobe Reader 9 I get the Reader "interface", i.e., there is the border surrounding the PDF, with the page number box at the top and I can search the document for various things.  On my main computer with Adobe Reader XI, the PDF files are simply downloading and I don't have the Reader "interface" anymore, so there's no way to search for items or go to specific pages.  Is there someplace to edit my settings in XI so that I get the interface?  Thanks so much for your help.

    Open Chrome
In the address bar, type chrome://plugins and press Enter
Scroll down to the entry called Chrome PDF Viewer and click Disable.
Scroll to the Adobe Reader or Acrobat entry and click Enable.

  • Help with online pdf viewer

My online pdf viewer does not seem to display the menu bar (as in the ones that pop up when you click a link for a form or journal). I have tried F9 and Alt-T, but none of them seem to work.... A little help please?
    Thanks

    Maybe something - maybe not,
Google Chrome has a Google provided plug-in for viewing PDFs.
My read of info in Google's webspace is that this is utilized via a "view..." action.
If you are accessing PDFs via Chrome you may want to visit the application's Help / Communities.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Viewing PDF files online

I recently tried to view a file online that is a pdf file but I instead viewed a window that said Unknown File Type. I have Adobe Professional installed but do I also need Adobe Reader to view PDF file online?

Just to update, i have a better way to view PDF as HTML on any phone browser. It does not need any installation!
Online version of iReader works on any phone that comes with a web browser such as iPhone, Nokia or PocketPC. Conveniently, reading can be done offline as it automatically save on your phone! It will automatic bookmark upon exit too. To use iReader, go to

  • How do I view a pdf files online within the body of the browser

I am having some issues interacting with pdf documents online with a website called Equator.com. I am using the latest version of of Firefox (10.0) and running Mac OS Lion. What can be done to remedy this problem?

    Hi richardconte,
Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]]? First you will need to install a PDF Plugin. Then you'll need to tell Firefox to open the PDF file in the browser. The article covers all of this information and provides troubleshooting steps in case you run into any issues.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Pdf viewer/editor queries

I am currently using Okular and acroread. Occasionally pdfedit though I don't like it much - the typewriter-type tool isn't as convenient as Acrobat's and I find Acrobat infuriating to being with.
Okular is pretty nice but has a couple of drawbacks:
    1) it doesn't use CUPS default settings for printers and it doesn't seem to remember chosen settings either. So I need to remember to set A4 paper and duplex for every document I print. It also doesn't remember the last used printer so I need to set that as well. (It keeps going back to the default printer - that seems to be the only CUPS default setting it *does* use!)
This is irritating but not fatal.
    2) Although Okular allows me to edit a PDF form and to save the result and it has a presentation mode, it is impossible to edit a PDF form while in presentation mode. At least, I've been unable to figure out a way. The problem seems to be that it interprets a click as "next slide" even if the click is over a form box. So it just advances rather than allowing me to type in the box. I've tried enabling different tools before switching to presentation mode but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
acroread, on the other hand, allows me to edit the form in presentation mode but won't let me save the result.
Does anybody know of a PDF viewer for Linux which allows both the editing of a form in presentation mode and the saving of the result?
I know there are a lot of different PDF viewers available and I've tried a reasonable number but I can't find any notes addressing this particular feature.
If there are any work-arounds I might be missing, I'd be interested in those as an alternative. I create the pdf forms using pdflatex and beamer. So if, for example, there was a way to enable the form for saving (equivalent to enabling it using Acrobat which I've heard is possible), that might work. I'd rather avoid acroread if I can - apart from anything else it seems very unstable and the AUR package seems neither very well thought through nor adequately maintained - but if it might work, it would be worth a shot.

So I discovered a partial work around but it isn't very satisfactory as it stands.
Today I used acroread in presentation mode to complete a form. Before saving, I printed the document to cups-pdf. This isn't ideal. It basically prints one stage of each slide in the middle of an A4 page (as if on paper) but it does retain the added text.
However, apart from the fact that it comes out a bit small, the quality of graphics is poor. This doesn't always matter much but sometimes it does.
Also, my slides use a shading effect from a lighter to darker colour of blue. This is quite subtle normally. However, when "printed", the top half of each slide is a block of the lightest shade while the bottom is a  block of the darkest shade so it is extremely distracting.
Assuming there is no suitable PDF viewer/editor for Linux which will do what I'd actually like to do, is there a way to improve the output from acroread/cups-pdf? acroread tends to crash if I try to change the print settings but it does respect cups defaults. So maybe I could somehow create a custom printer for this specific task? Assuming it is possible to get better output? I'm not sure whether this is a cups-pdf or acroread issue, though.

  • PDFs look different in Adobe reader and Acrobat professional compared to the built in PDF viewer on windows 8

    Hi there,
I have been trying to narrow down an issue we have been having for some time in printing PDF files and finding that they look different on paper compared to screen.  Up until today our big KIP plotter got the blame, but as I have been collecting notes on a little windows 8 tablet I noted that PDFs opened in the windows PDF viewer have the same visual defects as the printouts.  My example today is that on a CAD drawing there is a small box/frame with a number in their, I tried printing and the frame was completely blacked out.  As a test I tried saving the PDF as a TIFF file from Adobe Acrobat professional and this file had the same fault as the printed copy.  When I open it in the windows 8 pdf viewer I can see that there is a shading within this box that does not show on Adobe Reader (latest version 11.0.10.32), the adobe reader and acrobat pro version both show a white background to the box.  We have been having lots of issues with sections being missing from drawings and overly feint lines.
I am not sure where to start trying to narrow down why we are getting different results in different PDF readers.  Is there anyone who maybe able to point me in the right direction?  It almost feels like the shading or colour density is not being consistent when PDFs are being opened in different packages.
    Thanks in advance
    Andy

Some PDF viewers comply with the PDF ISO Standard (ISO 32000) "just enough" while others (such as Adobe's) fully comply.
As with anything there's a cost to using anything that comes from a "just enough" approach.
    Be well...

That means you are looking at the form online with a browser that uses its own (incompatible) PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin.

  • PDF View "Render document failed"

I've done quite a bit of looking around, and can't seem to find any fix for preventing a "render document failed" error message when opening certain pdfs (it looks like the discussion of this problem has really died down over the past year or so). I contacted HP's Palm support, but all they did was tell me that it was a known problem and that the engineering department was working on it. When I asked for possible work-arounds, they didn't have any (other than suggesting a pdf-to-word online converter, which does not allow my necessary zooming or landscape rotation). They also couldn't explain why the new TouchPad can open multiple pdfs at once (of different types- even pdfs with comic book graphics), but the Palm Pre Plus can't.
Or is there some trick to manipulating the pdf so that it will render? I've tried reducing the file size, flattening the images, removing metadata, making it compatible with all sorts of earlier versions of Acrobat, and making it a "read only" file, but nothing's seemed to work. A 28 MB file will open just fine and allow me to read ALL of it (along with zooming and the landscape rotation using PDF Redux), but another 8 MB file gives me that "Render document failed" error message.  I'd appreciate any suggestions (or a fully functional pdf viewer on this "business" smartphone)!

I can't help, but raise another question...
Others, is there another pdf reader in the App Catalog that he could try?
