  • Flash Pro CS6 and Adobe AIR (and Android APK)

I have a compiled SWF that I can't convert to a newer ActionScript 3.0 format.  Anything that I try breaks the file.  It is basically just an animation with a tad bit of code on the Movie Clips.  I can't seem to identify the culprit that causes the newer files to generate with errors so I have decided to use the load method to load the ActionScript 1/2 format into an AS 3.0 container.  This still does not work for generating APK's directly.
However when I generate a desktop AIR file it plays just fine.
Is there a way to take the AIR file and convert it to an APK using the command line?  I have heard of using adt on the command line but most posts speak of converting SWF's directly.  I would like to try it with the already-compiled AIR file.  If I use the SWF I might as well compile that into a non-functioning APK directly from Flash.  That's not what I'm looking to do.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi kglad,
Yes I have the original FLA.
I think you're right, working with it to convert it to AS3 would be optimal.  Unfortunately it is not such an easy task because I tried that route already and I thought I had a good file but in the Android APK it still played back strangely.  With the desktop AIR I didn't have any problems after using the original FLA to reauthor the SWF movie.
I also find it strange that when I try to import the SWF into a version of Flash below CC it does not import properly.  I guess at runtime it takes some of the ActionScript commands into account but at import-time to get it into the Library or on Stage it throws the AS out the window.

  • Pdf with audio files embedded - Acrobat Pro 8 vs Acrobat Reader XI - suggestions?

Hi, I have a problem with a pdf (containing embedded audio files) created with Acrobat Pro 8.
    So, two questions for you.
    1) When I open it with Acrobat Reader XI, the audio files won't be reproduced.
Windows 7 and 8 tell me that there is a codec problem.
Finding the right codec seems to be very hard (looking on the previous threads in this forum I found some links to websites offering codec packs, but when you download them it seem they start offering many other things to download, and this stresses a lot).
    Any other suggestions?
    2) The other question is kind of reverse of the first one: if I create a pdf with Acrobat XI, will an Acrobat Reader 8 or 9 be able to open it and listend to the audio files???
    Thank you,
    aliB

  • Pdf with audio files

When I exported iBooks author file with audio files to a pdf file, I cannot play audo files.  How can I make a pdf file with audo files from iBooks author? Any commnets are aprpreciated.

Not going to happen (in this context), sorry.
Consider PDFs as review tools, not replacements for interactive books.

  • Issue with Amazon and AIR for Android

It appears that Flash Pro CS5.5 does not create .apks properly for the Amazon Appstore. The airDownloadURL is incorrect according to Amazon and your app will likely be rejected if you try to submit it to them. In the AIR for Android Settings, when you choose "Get AIR runtime from: Amazon Appstore" in the Deployment tab, the link Flash Pro uses for the airDownloadURL property is:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android/com.adobe.air
    when it should be this:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.adobe.air
As far as I can tell, there is no way to edit this within Flash CS5.5 so Adobe needs to make the change in a future update. The only way I know of around this is to create your .apk manually through the command line using the AIR SDK. It should look something like this:
    adt -package -target apk -airDownloadURL http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.adobe.air -storetype pkcs12 -keystore certificate.p12 filename.apk filename-app.xml filename.swf icon36.png icon48.png icon72.png
If you don't have any experience using the AIR SDK then do some searching online. There are a ton of good resources out there.
    Good luck!
    tomdei

For me works editing of Markets.xml file at:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\en_US\Configuration\Android\Markets.xml"
and replacing of Amazon Appstore key to
    <market name="Amazon Appstore" url="http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.adobe.air"/>
    That's all!

  • Exporting a pdf with audio

    Hi there,
I am making a pdf that I'm putting online for download. It needs to contain embedded audio files, OR links to the audio files.
I have tried using hyperlinks, but the problem here is that my personal file path gets imbedded. The hyperlinks obviously cannot point to the audio files on my computer alone, but they do need to point to the user's computer. I can not point the hperlinks to the audio files on the web, because they will not be on line. - The audio will be downloaded along with the pdf.
I would appreciate some advice if someone could help.
    Thanks!
    -Matt

Embed it. Export with Acrobat 6 or higher compatibility.

  • Create ID PDF with Audio (multimedia) for Reader

Does anyone know how I can properly code my InDesign file so that the audio that I choose to embed will play back properly in Adobe Reader AS WELL AS Adobe Acrobat.  So far I am getting conflicting results:  In Acrobat the audio plays back once a particular page loads and then continues to play even if I navigate away from that page.  In Reader if I navigate away then the audio stops.
Furthemore I cannot seem to get audio to play on Reader for mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad, or HP TouchPad or even Android Phones and tablets.
How do I encode audio in my ID file for Reader for mobile devices?  I'd rather ask in one thread instead of having to repeat myself in multiple threads across the various mobile OS Reader Forums.
    Thanks in advance

This seems to indicate that Acrobat Standard cannot create comment-enabled PDF documents, but either Pro or Pro Extended can. Is that correct?
If I buy Acrobat Pro, will I be able to use it to create comment-enabled PDF documents from my Word 2007 documents?
    Yes and yes.
    Ragg Mopp wrote:
If so, how does it work? Will it convert the Word document? Will it convert the PDF document I create using the Word add-in? Can I invoke it from inside Word?
    Thanks
It's very simple. Create your PDF from Word, open in Acrobat and use the Comments>Enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader. You cannot invoke it from within Word no.

  • Export PDF with Audio

Maybe I'm not able to do it, but I have a feeling it's just because I have NO clue as to how to go about it.
I've mae a pdf file using Acrobat XI . I've embedded an audio file. The pdf file works just fine on my PC but when I want to export it the audio doesn't show up. Is this function possible ? If so , how do I go about it ? I'm a NEWB !!
I thank you in advance for any help !
    Cheers!

I want to place PDF file or link to it on my FB page, when I do, the embedded audio file doesn't go with it. So I guess I'm not saving it in the right format ? I guess this would be the same if I embedded a video file as well?
If this can be done , what is the step by step instruction ? I can't see where I can save it in a different format ?
    Thanks again

  • PDFs with Navigation for Kindle or Android

    Hello,
I created a large PDF in Word, and added navigation functions in Acrobat (a linked TOC, links to specific maps, etc.). It functions great in the Kindle using certain PDF readers. But the Back to Last Location button does not work. It is done through "Execute a menu item" then View>Page Navigation>Previous View.
I am using Acrobat X. Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the speedy reply! My specific problem is not navigation to a specific page though – but something that takes the reader back to the last page they viewed, which could be 50 pages away. Say, I have a link on page 4 to a map on page 20, the reader clicks the link and goes to page 20. Checks the map, then wants to return to where they were reading before. I could rig it to go back to page 4 only with the Go to Page View function, right? But if someone clicked a second link to that map from page 37, then hit the Last Location button, it would only take them to page 4.
Does that make sense? I’m not really very technical, obviously! ☺
    Thanks!

  • How can I open pdfs with Acrobat directly from Firefox (Android)?

I would like to open pdfs directly with the Acrobat reader app, without downloading it (& saving it in the downloads folder). When I open a pdf, FF offers me several apps or a download, but not the Acrobat Reader, also Acrobat it mentioned as the standard application for opening pdfs.

The file must be downloaded for Adobe reader to be able to display the file. There is no way to display any file without downloading it.

  • Cant open any old pdf with the adobe acrobat dc [Android]

I recently updated my adobe reader to adobe acrobat dc and since then I cannot open any old pdf files in my phone. The new ones I download open just fine,  but the old ones have just disappeared. The only files I can see are those I have downloaded after updating the app and listed in the Recent page.
I tried open my old pdf files by clicking on the floating folder icon in the Recent page, which brings me to my downloads folder in my phone. After clicking on an old pdf file, a dialogue will open saying that adobe will create a local copy of the document. After I click continue, it will say that the file cannot be accessed, and ask me to check the location or the network (the pdf files were those the app listed on the downloads folder on my phone). I have also tried to open them from my phone's own download manager. It will first tell me the file cannot be found, in which I will redownload it, but then the app says that it can't be opened because it is not a valid pdf file. How can that be true when it opened just fine before I updated the app?  All my old pdf files are also not detected automatically by the app, which was the one feature I loved so much about the old version of Adobe reader. What must I do to open my old pdf files that are in my phone?
my phone is a Samsung galaxy s4.

Are you trying to open the documents from the Downloads tab as shown below?
If that is the case, it is possible you are trying to open the files which were previously downloaded and no longer exist on your device. To open the files which actually exist on your device, you can go to the Internal Storage tab which exists below the Download tab. The Internal storage tab will show the folders available. Go to the downloads folder in the internal storage tab and then to the 'Adobe Reader' or 'Adobe Acrobat' folder and you can find the files there.
    Thanks.

  • Flash cs5.5 FLVplayback Encoding Problems with Air for Android

    Dear All,
I'm trying to play flv in my air application by using FLV playback in flash cs5.5.
I can play flv in the pc but not on the samsung galaxy tab andriod platform.
if anyone out there has tried out FLV playback with either an Air For Android application, where the FLV files are packaged within the app, or either streaming via normal http//:, any help  would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

First disable autoplay. It gave errors for me. Try to make the movie play with the play() command.
to embed the movie in your air bundle, just go to publish settings for your flash project. Then in that screen go to the player settings.
In the first GENERAL tab you'll see a the bottom that you can add files to your project
Propably there is allready your .swf and an .xml file in there.
Using the + icon you can add your video.
Make sure that your video is in the same directory as your . FLA file and you can use it as is (by name)
If for example your flashfile is in c:\mytest\mytest.fla and the video in c:\mytest\videos\myvideo.flv , then you will have to load your video as "videos/myvideo.flv" with a FORWARD slash, never use \
    Good luck

  • Air for Android language problem

i have an Air for Android APK compiled by Flash CS5.5 that shows support for languages that are not in the app. I successfully removed these in my iOS apps, but am unable to find out how to do this for Android apps. Anyone developed a process to fix this?

I'm still having this issue with every export. This seems to be a problem that just won't die.
Edit: This might be the answer

  • Opening PDF with navigateToUrl on Android

    Hi,
i'm developping an enterprise application in AIR on Android which show a list of PDF's on your device and should open them when you press on it.
However, when using navigateToUrl for this purpose, it doesn't open the PDF in Adobe Reader (which is installed) but in another app, called HP IPrint.
Even uninstalling HP IPrint, setting Adobe Reader as the default app for reading PDF files doesn't change this behaviour. It either opens it in HP IPrint, or if IPrint is not available not at all. Opening the PDF from outside the AIR app with Adobe Reader works fine however.
Since openWithDefaultApplication is not supported under the mobile profile, how do I make AIR open PDF's in Adobe Reader?
    Thx in advance.

Do you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed?

  • AIR 3.2 RC1 Installing & Running Android .APK asks for an AIR update?

I am packaging my app in Flash Pro CS5.5 using the overlay method with AIR 3.2 RC1 (everything is functioning correctly/publishing fine no issues).
Then once i publish Air for Android directly to the device on application launch, this message pops up -
"This app requires a newer version of Adobe AIR.
    Update Abode AIR now?"
Is there a new version or a different way of packaging the APK? as i heard you dont need AIR now you can package everything inside the APK, please can someone let me know would be appriciated! cheers

    Hi,
Sorry I hadn't gotten to your post yet.  I'm behind and still going through posts from a week and a half ago
AIR isn't required for your operating system unless you use an application that depends on it.  Think of AIR like you would Java.  It's a platform/runtime for other applications to be built on.  If you don't use any application that was built with AIR (or Java) then there is no need for it to be installed.
If you do have an AIR application installed that requires AIR, I would definitely recommend updating to the latest version just to make sure you have all of the security updates that we've provided.  You can do this by visiting get.adobe.com/air and downloading the latest version, which is 3.2.  Updating your OS will not update the AIR runtime.  You can also get updates by actually launching your AIR based applications.  AIR will notice that it's out of date and prompt you to install and update to the latest version.
Since you haven't received any AIR update notifications, this leads me to believe you aren't actually using any AIR applications.
You can always start the AIR uninstall process, if AIR applications are installed you'll get a dialog letting you know which applicaiton's will be affected.  You can choose to continue to uninstall or cancel at that point.
    Hopefully this makes sense.
    Chris
