PDF with watermark for second Print.

Hi All,
I have a requirement to have a watermark on my Form when it is printed for second time and hence.
If the user prints the form for first time he should not see any watermark.
Any ideas. Please Help.
I am working on Designer and LiveCycle ES2.
Thanks and Regards--
Chalukya.

Thanks Niall,
Your solution is working gr8.
But have a problem when I print my form I get a Print Box to set my Pages/Printer and so on, here if I cancel the Print action then my form is considered to be printed.
And I get the watermark when I print it again.
Any solution for this. Please suggest.
Thanks and Regards--
Chalukya.

  • HP Laserjet 4250 - While Printing PDFs with Watermark, Prints images as scrambled

    Hi,
I am using HP Laserjet 4250 printer. While Printing PDFs with Watermark, the printer prints images as scrambled. It prints the part of the image as scrambled which is overlapped by the Watermark. The other part of the image is printed fine. When seen on the screen, it shows up the image with the watermark properly. Could you please suggest how to arrive at a solution for this problem. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Sebastian43
I suspect your question would be better answered in the HP Enterprise Business Community,  as the HP LaserJet 6L is a commercial model.
My technical expertise is with consumer products and software, I am sure the commercial folks would be happy to help if you re-post your question for them to answer. The HP Enterprise Business Community is an HP Forum designed for the Commercial and Enterprise customers to help one another. I am sure you will find some HP folks there to help too.
Click here to view the Printing and Digital Imaging.  When the page opens you will see the option to 'Log in' or 'Register Now' on the right. The commercial forums are separate from the consumer boards, thus you will need to register if you don't already have a commercial account.
You may find the HP LaserJet 6Lse Printer support page helpful while you wait for somebody in the commercial Forum to respond to your inquiry.
    Best of luck.

  • Export as pdf with watermarks

    Hi everybody,
I would like to export an inDesign document as a pdf with watermarks.  Is that possible?  If not, how can I do that otherwise?

Have you tried creating the watermark on its own layer? ID CS4 has an export option to preserve layers in PDFs, and in Full Acrobat (not Reader) you can show or hide layers as you prefer. In full Acrobat I believe that you can set security to prevent users from changing the visibility and order of layers, as well as other security options.

  • Why will Acrobat X not print pdf with watermark correctly?

Users with Acrobat X Standard have trouble printing PDF documents with watermarks that overlay the document text and block out some of the document text. The users with Acrobat XI Standard so far do not have this issue. How can this be resolved for the users with Acrobat X Standard? Is there a setting that makes the watermark print behind the document text?

    Hi,
    Something (maybe) that might help.
    With Acrobat 8 or 9 -
In the "Add Watermark" dialog; look for "Appearance Options" (lower third of the dialog window).
    Click on it.
In the "Appearance Options" dialog, be sure "Show when printing" is selected.
Test the PDF one a different computer using Adobe Reader.

  • Cannot print pdf with watermark - watermark showing as "markup"

I'm trying to add a watermark to my PDF to show only when printed. It is simple enough to do, except it will not actually print. I can see it in print preview when viewing "document and markup," but not on my document. Therefore, when I distribute this PDF, and others print it, they will not see my watermark.
Help! Does anyone know a workaround for this or what I can do to make the watermark part of the document and not a markup only?

  • Creating PDFs with links for web searches

Hi everyone. That title is not exactly the problem I'm having, but it's a good start.
We have found that Firefox/IE/Chrome search our PDFs quite nicely, but when the link is clicked in the search results, all that happens is that the PDF opens to page 1. Users have to search again to find what they're looking for. Perhaps that is just how such a search is supposed to happen, but it seems that I've seen somewhere that a PDF opened to the page with the search term on it.
What can we add to the FrameMaker source files or the PDF (before it's posted to the web) to ensure that a search link takes the user precisely to the text being searched for? We're TCS3 with unstructured FM but might soon be, um, strongly encouraged to switch to the structured version.
I've looked through the FM and Acrobat forums for an answer, to no avail.
    Thanks for the help!

    > I wonder whether it's a limitation of the search engine, rather than FM or Acrobat.
That would be my guess. Search engines probably cannot search many PDFs in the raw at all (you don't have to turn on much security to turn a PDF binary into an encrypted mess). But if the PDF allows reading and/or printing, they can render the whole thing, and index what's displayed. The named destinations may not be recovered in that process, plus, you're not always assured that there will be an ND nearby everything you're indexing.
Adobe might even provide some APIs that would allow deeper linking into PDFs as a search result, but it may also be that few enough have useful NDs that it just isn't worth the bother to look. NDs inflate the size of the PDF, so many publishers don't turn them on (we don't, and probably won't, until we need deliberate deep linking).
If you want the info to be accessible like a web page, you multi-flow to HTML or a similar non-atomic format as well.

  • Is it possible to generate PDF with "enable for commenting" from AI?

I am using Illustrator CS5 and have Acrobat 9 Pro on a Mac. I would like to generate PDF's with "enabled for commenting" feature on.
I was able generate a PDF from CS5 -> open it in Acrobat 9 Pro -> enable commenting -> Save as new PDF
I prefer to skip the above mannual step and generate the PDF with commenting enabled directly from Illustrator. Any ideas?

Acrobat 9 Pro doesn't support batch processing to "enable for commenting" feature. I can batch generate the PDFs from AI but will have to manually convert each PDF using Acrobat 9 Pro....(sucks!!!)
Another option is that I get a Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows - install LiveCycle - tranfer my AI generated PDFs (mac) to windows and use batch processing feature of LiveCycle to convert the PDFs into "enable for commenting" (sucks less!!!)
I would love to hear any other option available.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 standard - crash when print pdf with watermark

it is the EXACT same issue as this:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402928&sliceId=1
the problem is, the steps indicated here to fix the problem in solution 1, do not apply to STANDARD, even though it says it does.
    Solution 3 works just fine.
The problem is this, I do not want my watermarks at 100% opacity. Every solution I have found says "Select PDF Optimizer from the Advanced menu.
I do not see that menu/option anywhere in acrobat 8 standard. I need a fix for this issue, and printing a watermark at %100 opacity or getting a new printer isn't a solution.
Apparently if I could just run the pdf optimizer i could fix this issue, but its nowhere to be found.
I was hoping someone could shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance

I believe the PDF optimizer is only in Professional. I don't have 8 on
my machine now. There may have been something under the file menu that
did some optimization called Reduce File size, but I don't know if it
will fix your problem or what version numbers had the option.

  • Can I save Projects in their entirety (with photos) for future printing?

Hi - I have 15 iPhoto books that I would like to have printed. I have built these books with photos selected from a group of roughly 12,000 in my iPhoto library. I would like to have the books printed and then archive my photos to DVDs and delete them from my computer in order to be able to load on new photos. Is there any way to export my "Projects" to a DVD such that if, for some reason, one of the books that I had printed got damaged, I could easily reinsert the DVD and upload the project for printing again (with all of the photo and photo edits/cropping fully intact)? Given what I have been able to glean so far, it seems as though there is no mechanism for backing up projects for development say 5 years hence without keeping all of one's photos on a drive together. For me, this is not feasible... Do you have any suggestions? Many thanks for any help you are able to offer!

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • PDFs with Navigation for Kindle or Android

    Hello,
I created a large PDF in Word, and added navigation functions in Acrobat (a linked TOC, links to specific maps, etc.). It functions great in the Kindle using certain PDF readers. But the Back to Last Location button does not work. It is done through "Execute a menu item" then View>Page Navigation>Previous View.
I am using Acrobat X. Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the speedy reply! My specific problem is not navigation to a specific page though – but something that takes the reader back to the last page they viewed, which could be 50 pages away. Say, I have a link on page 4 to a map on page 20, the reader clicks the link and goes to page 20. Checks the map, then wants to return to where they were reading before. I could rig it to go back to page 4 only with the Go to Page View function, right? But if someone clicked a second link to that map from page 37, then hit the Last Location button, it would only take them to page 4.
Does that make sense? I’m not really very technical, obviously! ☺
    Thanks!

  • How to reduce the size of my pdf X3:2002 for online printing

    Hello Adobe,
I have been creating a photobook (33 x 28 cm) with my photo editing software.
The problem is, that I've got a PDF X3 2002 with around 7 GB and the online printing office accepts only 2 GB.
What can I do, how can I reduce this large pdf in 2 GB?  I'm working with Acrobat X Pro.
    Thanks for your help,
    Best,
    Andrea

You are sending public messages, don't worry about that. It's working fine. Now, rather than trying to share screen shots and send PDFs, please focus on answering ALL of my questions. Thanks. I will recap. If any of the questions don't make sense, just say so. We need to stay focussed, not go off on a tangent.
    - the size in pixels and inches (or mm) for your photos.
    - what app you use for layout
    - What is the EFFECTIVE resolution you are using for your images (not the original ppi, but adjusted for layout size)?
    - How are you making up the pages?
    - How do you make the PDF? -
    - What PDF compression settings are you using?

  • Rotate .pdf file image for Plotter printing

My .pdf file image size is 46.76" wide and 24.24" high.  I'm trying to rotate and print the image on an HP plotter such that the 24.24" height is printed across the available 34" width of the plotter roll and the 46.76" image width is printed along whatever length is required as the plotter paper comes off the roll.
I've tried every combination of auto-rotate, custom paper sizes, etc. and the image always prints vertically (as displayed on the computer screen) - reducing/compressing the overall size of the printed result.
The plotter is an HP DesignJet 1055CM - I'm using Acrobat Standard 10.1.5 on Win-XP/sp3

Use what ever format you like, I perfer .tiff with LSW compression or .eps. If you don't know what you are doing just include the original image when you send you project to the printer and link the image in InDesign don't embedded it.  When you furnish the original image the prepress department can set it up correctly.
I perfer 300 dpi with image is at 100% of the final size, if the image is printing 150 line screen when printed. 200 dpi is ok for 133 line screen.  I would even perfer a 100 dpi image over a .jpg image that has be over compressed.
