PDf won't display using browser

How do I get my browser IE 10 to open a PDF file?  I cannot download a PDF file either.

I would just get a white blank screen. Here is what I did:
First change the defaults in Adobe by doing the following:
Click "Start">All Programs>Adobe Reader>Edit>Preferences>Internet>Web Browser Options>Tick "Display PDF">OK and exit Adobe.
THEN you want to change the security options:
Open Internet Explorer(IE), Click "Tools">Adnvaced>Scroll  Down to Security and Uncheck"Do Not Save Encrypted Pages to Disk">Click apply or ok and exit.
This should work. You may have to restart your computer for it to take effect.
I had this problem after trying to install KIS(Kaspersky Internet Security) and in so doing was advised to reset my security to defaults which was a mistake as the issue was not with my computer but rather with Kaspersky's server as I was able to install it the next day. Resetting security to defaults could create a problem as you are setting settings that worked before and now do not. Anyway try my solution above and let me know if it works, which it should.

Does anyone know why all of a sudden any new parent divs I add won't display in browser preview?

yes styles are applied. What does not show up are the container divs - they all have the thin purple borders.
The "Blog Lovers" image shows up but it is inside the #blogindex div - which seems to be invisible because the elements inside #blogindex div are just piled on top of each other. (see below html) This is now happening on all the pages of this site.
(I test a different site in DW and I was able to add divs and borders and content inside divs just fine.)
    <!-- start #blogindex -->
         <div id="blogindex">

  • Adobe Reader X 10.1.1: PDF does not display in browser

    Hello,
If I click on a link to a PDF-file, this PDF-file does not display in browser eventhough I have checked "Display PDF in browser" (Preferences ==> Internet ==> Web Browser Options) but instead Adobe Reader X opens the PDF-file outside browser. What is wrong?
    Thank you for your help.

I solved the problem. I used Internet Explorer, 64-bit. If I use Internet Explorer 32-bit the PDF-file displays in browser. If I use Internet Explorer 64-bit Adobe Reader X opens the PDF-file outside browser.

  • PDF won't display correctly after being sent from iPad/iPhone

    Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help me, we have a PDF come in to one of our users outlook accounts, it opens fine on the computer. However, he has then proceeded to forward this to a colleague through his iPad and when the colleague opens it on their computer, it gives an error message 'Insufficient Data for an Image'. From here the PDF doesn't display correctly, whereby it only shows when scrolled halfway down the page, when you scroll back up all information dissapears as though it were a blank page.
FYI the software we are using to open the PDF is Adobe Reader, which we updates to the latest version to test for this issue. In short, when opened on the local computer it works fine, but as soon as it is forwarded from an iPad it won't open properly (the document opens fine on the ipad before it is sent). I have also tested this through my iPhone and i get the same issue.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Any chance that a Microsoft Exchange Server is in the mix? Could depend on what version of exchange is used.
You will need to try a work-around. Apple seems slow on fixing this issue.

  • PDFs Won't Display

I have a new iMac and it won’t display PDFs, as for example my tax return and bank statements, though if I can download them they display normally. I have Adobe Reader X version 10.1.2. I have this problem with any browser. With Safari the display is just a big black (and otherwise blank) window. What's my problem?

Does this KB article describe your issue?

  • Saved for web images won't display in browser

I am using Photoshop elements 5.0 on WinXP. when I save images for web , they will not display in browser (IE) but images downloaded from net and other sources will display ok, but once opened and saved with my PSE they will no longer display on browser. I have tripple checked .jpg ect. all seems ok.Any idea's welcome .

I ran across this a while back and it took me a minute (or two) to figure out what was wrong. For JPG images to display in a web brower, the color mode must be RGB not CMYK.
    Hope this helps,

  • PDF won't open in browser window - think it's Adobe, not FF

Hello!  I have Windows 7, 64 bit, Firefox 20.0.1 and Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421, both with the same problem.  I have Adobe Reader 11.0.2.  Earlier today I was able to open PDFs in the browser tab, this evening not so much.  I am not sure what changed - to my knowledge I didn't get anything updated today.  I have checked all my settings and can't figure out what's wrong.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program.  The only thing I couldn't find after extensive Googling of the issue is that my Adobe Reader lacks the button that is referenced in a lot of posts for "display PDF in browser" is missing.  I've included a screenshot.
In addition, in Firefox there used to be an option "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)", but now there's just "Use Adobe Reader (default)" or other pdf readers (and I *hate* Firefox's pdf reader).  I haven't gone too deep into IE's options since I don't use it hardly at all.
Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Linda

You may have used the 32-bit IE edition previously.
On Windows 7, if opened from the Task Bar, it will open 32-bit.  From the Start Menu it will open 64-bit.
Open Help | About Internet Explorer to see if you are using the 32-bit or 64-bit edition.

  • PDF won't display (please wait...)

I am trying to get a tax form to show with Adobe Reader. The form is available at https://ww2.revenue.wi.gov/Internet/wi_efile/2010/Form1-2010.pdf . The site says Reader 9.0 or above is needed. I have installed 9.4.2, the latest version available for Debian. When I attempt to open it, I just get a page that reads "Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document." Am I missing something?

It is a running joke that the acroread plugin crashes on linux.  It has been that way for years and looks set to be the same way forevermore.
However there is a fix and it isn't too difficult.  Locate and delete (or move) the file npwrapper.nppdf.so /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/npwrapper.nppdf.so on my system) this is the plugin that is so flaky and causes the problems.  Now you have no embedded acrobat reader? but there is a solution:
mozplugger - it is a bit old and unfashionable but it works everytime.  It can use acroread, evince, kpdf, gv or okular to actually do the display of the pdf inside your browser.  Personally I use okular despite the many bugs (stupid landscape printing bug, "can't zoom much" bug in okular etc etc).
mozplugger can do all sorts of other stuff such as embedded word docs via libre office etc - it is pretty cool and <just works>.
Watch out for your distro though - I'm using SUSE and it stupidly insists on installing yet another buggy npwrapper.nppdf.so every time it updates flash player.  If you have installed mozplugger you just need to delete npwrapper.nppdf.so again and all will be working A-ok.
If you use (k)ubuntu mozplugger is why this is never a problem!

  • Image deletion won't display in browser

Hey everyone, simplly put I am displaying a picture I have created to the user, after it is displayed I wish to delete it from my drive, the only problem is that the image is deleted before it is displayed, i want it the other way round.
I have created a servlet program which creates the image and sends it to a jsp page where it is displayed. After the code that displays the image executes I create a class where I delete the file. In a perfect world the image would still be displayed in the browser as the file is deleted behind the scenes but in this case the code to delete it deletes it before it is displayed, I have tried a few things including putting the thread to sleep for a few seconds and then deleteing the file, all to no avail. Any ideas?
    thanks

Putting the servlet to sleep won't help.
The request for the image is made seperately to the servlet call.
The browser can only request the image once it has received the html page.
Obviously it needs time to receive the html page, send a request back for the image, and then have time to download it before you delete it.
I think the best method would be to schedule a process that deletes image files from a directory (for example) every five minutes (based on their timestamp of file.lastModified() so you don't delete any current ones)
    Good luck,

  • Since upgrading Mavericks PDF won't display?

Just upgraded and now can't see PDF? Help

Usually a PDF is opened by Preview, a native OS X application in your Mac system.
If you have a portable document file on your desktop, single-click it so it is highlighted but not try to open it, and then use Get Info from the finder menu, and look into the detail box that should open; you can choose to select what application opens a PDF. Look for Preview and choose it to open all files like this.
Or, if you have a recent version of Adobe Reader for Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.2, from the App Store perhaps or direct from Adobe software web site, you could choose that as the application to open all or a single PDF. I have Preview for some, set as my choice to open; and also use Adobe Reader to open others. Some files seem to have more content appear, or appear correctly, depending on what application was used to author it.
    PS: you've posted an 'intel-mac' question in a 'ppc-mac' area; I will
ask a host to move it to the correct one. We'll see where it goes.
    Hopefully this helps a bit.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • SWF in Dreamweaver doc just shows a white box.  Won't display in browser.

Just installed CS6 Web and Design Premium on 27" iMac with OS X 10.7.4.  SWF files from Flash 5/Dreamweaver 5 display fine in all web browsers, but Flash CS6 (ActionScript 3.) SWF files result in the message - "Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation..."  I set the root folder of the web site I am working on as a Trusted Location Settings in my System Preferences and restarted, but no luck.
    What am I missing?
Many thanks to anyone who knows what the issue is.

  • Saved  PDF won't display base color

In Illustrator, I save a vector clouds with a blue backround. However, once saved as a PDF, the blue sky doesn'y appear. Just the white clouds on a checkerboard backround appear.
I have checked, the layer isn't locked.

Is the blue background on a seperate layer? If the layer name is in Italics you have the the layer option for print unchecked.
By default the print layers option is set to visible and printable. This setting affects PDF output. You can change that to visible layers.
In any case test to see if this is a layer related issue and if items on the layer with the blue backgorund show up transparent.
