Pdfmaker fails converting folders

Team,
I have a client using PDFMaker, version 9 with Acrobat Std 11.   She uses PDFMaker to convert entire folders in Outlook.  Recently, its started failing during the conversion process with as few as 200 items in the folder.
I'm not finding anything leading me down a path to repair.  The box itself is happy; ie no windows logs to support the failure.  The adobe logs that result from the failure are very generic, meaning the lines in the log literally show from; to; subject;.....  but no actual data pointing to a bad item that caused the failure.
Help?

  • PDFMaker failing Acrobat=7 XPpro Office=2003

    Something happened yesterday and I am left with 2 of 3 ways to make a PDF file no longer working. Was working, now not
    working. But with auto updates running who can tell if it was the OS, Adobe, or Office that dropped the ball.
    Symptoms:
    A) I can no longer use right-click to "Convert to Adobe PDF", I get the "Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the
    installer in repair mode?" modal dialog box.
    B ) When I open Word my "Adobe PDF" menu at the top no longer contains any elements. "Acrobat Comments" has elements.
    C) in Word selecting File / Print / Adobe PDF works and it does generate a PDF file that can be read elsewhere. I
    understand that this uses Distiller.
    Versions:
    J) Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.0.9
    K) Microsoft Office Word 2003(11.8202.8202) SP3

  • PDFmaker not converting Jpg attachments to emails in Microsoft Outlook 2013

    I am having problems converting jpg attachments to emails in Microsoft Outlook 2013 using PDFmaker. I'm running Adobe Acrobat 11 and just updated it to the latest version and that did not solve the problem.
    I can convert the emails and Word attachments and can convert the jpgs manually by saving them to my desk top and then adding them as attachments to the resulting PDF but I have several emails each was several attachments that I want to save and it will take me hours to do it manually.
    I was thinking there might be some security setting on the jpgs that is preventing PDFmaker from automatically converting them.
    I already confirmed that the Preference Conversion Setting is selected to include all attachments in the Adobe PDF. I also unselected the box that reads "block download of external content" but it did not help.

    Manual method is a difficult task .You can easily transfer your mails from the Thunderbird to MS Outlook using third party conversion software.i faced the same problem.i tried the following utility. It converts all my Thunderbird accounts to a single PST.you can also try the free demo version of the software.

  • Calling RFC Adapter fails - convert error

    Hi,
    I have a problem with calling RFC Adapter. I'm using JDBC->XI->RFC scenario. JDBC does just "select 'W' from dual". In the destination SAP system RFC function is created for test purposes. This function has one parameter - string type. After calling it, it should write a sysdate into the SAP Z_ table. The XI should call the function with the 'W' parameter. But this fails. Everything is ok, but calling the RFC returns following error (copied from the Runtime Workbench -> Message Monitoring :
    Exception caught by adapter framework: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: could not convert request from XML to RFC:com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (130) JCO_ERROR_XML_PARSER: Expecting a tag to begin with '<' instead of 'W', in "u
    (Yes, this is thw whole error message. I don't know what u should be...)
    Did someone get this error?
    Thanx 4 answers, Peter

    Hello all,
    Let me reopen the topic of my colleague. I'm facing the same error though with bit different symptoms. Here it is.
    ERROR msg:
         Exception caught by adapter framework: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: could not convert request from XML to RFC:com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (130) JCO_ERROR_XML_PARSER: Expecting a tag to begin with '<' instead of 'Z', in "T
    The XML message (MainDocument):
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:Z_BAPI_ACCESSIBILITY_TEST_XI xmlns:ns0="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
      <BAPI1008 />
      <PARAM>Z_XID_500_ACC</PARAM>
      <ZTTOTH_BAPI1008 />
    - <b><ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      <PARAM1></b>Z_XID_500_ACC</PARAM1>
      </ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      </ns0:Z_BAPI_ACCESSIBILITY_TEST_XI>
    According to the error message the parser expects behind string ...<ZTTOTH_STRUCT><PARAM1> another tag, but the question is why.
    To make all this more funny here I paste another XML message of BAPI calling which works fine (without the error described above):
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:Z_BAPI_PARAMETERS_TEST_XI xmlns:ns0="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
      <PARAM>Z_XID_500</PARAM>
    - <ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      <PARAM1>Z_XID_500</PARAM1>
      </ZTTOTH_STRUCT>
      </ns0:Z_BAPI_PARAMETERS_TEST_XI>
    The BAPI functions are absolutely the same except those other two import-pramater structures (BAPI1008 and ZTTOTH_BAPI1008). I'm gonna to try to add those import-parameter structures into Z_BAPI_PARAMETERS_TEST_XI, but anyway - this is weird.
    Does anybody have an idea, what should be wrong ?
    Thx. Tom

  • Outlook 2007/Adobe 9 Converting Folders to PDF

    I have converted several email folders in Outlook 2007 to PDF so that I can delete the folders from my outlook but have them saved in client folders.  When I try to access these saved pdf emails on my computer, I get the error message that "There was an error opening this document. The file cannot be found." But when I go to someone else's computer, they file opens just fine.  I need to be able to access these on my computer. Can someone please help me? (I do not want responses telling me you don't have a button in Outlook to convert to pdf please. I cannot help you with that and obviously you cannot help me.)

    The Save and Save As save to the current version. To save to an earlier version you must use either Reduce File Size or the PDF Optimizer. Be careful about the job.settings file you use in such a case and the possibility of fonts being removed that you want embedded (font tab in PDF Optimizer). Both of these have settings to select for version. I am not sure about the extra settings with the Reduce File Size, so you will have to check the fast web view with a sample.

  • PDFMaker fails to install in Microsoft Office 2000

    I installed CS4 Web Premium...no installation problems EXCEPT that the installer failed to install the PDFMaker in Office 2000 applications. I looked in the Help files that came with Acrobat Pro 9 and there are instructions for installing to Office 2003 and newer, and ALSO for Office Versions before 2003, including 2000. I followed those instruction, but was not able to locate the PDFMaker anywhere in the suite. I "repaired" the installation several times...still no PDFMaker. I would appreciate some advice here.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have used PDFMaker extensively in previous versions of Acrobat. It's an important component of my work flow.

    I have perused the forum for this issue and have repeatedly...and sadly...learned that Office 2000 support is not available in Acrobat 9.It also appears that there are no updates or plugins to fix this oversight. Therefore,  I would like to know if it is possible for Acrobat 9 to co-exist with Acrobat 6 Standard (where the PDFMaker works in Office 2000) also installed? Can I have both versions of Acrobat installed? I think this would be the preferred option, rather than installing Office 2003.
    Thanks...

  • Not converting anything but get error: "Conversion failed converting varchar value 'X' to data type int"

    I have created the following trigger that fires instead of an UPDATE statement and copies the altered data over to an Audit table before proceeding with the requested UPDATE. After doing so, I wrote a simple UPDATE statement for testing:
    UPDATE Products
    SET ProductCode = 'XYZ 2014', ProductName = 'Special Edition Tamborine', ListPrice = 74.99, DiscountPercent = .5
    WHERE ProductID = 28;
    When I run this, I get the following message:
    Msg 245, Level 16, State 1, Procedure Products_UPDATE, Line 14
    Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'X' to data type int.
    Here is my trigger:
    IF OBJECT_ID('Products_UPDATE') IS NOT NULL
    DROP TRIGGER Products_UPDATE; -- LINE 14
    GO
    CREATE TRIGGER Products_UPDATE
    ON Products
    INSTEAD OF UPDATE
    AS
    DECLARE @ProductID int, @CategoryID int, @ProductCode varchar, @ProductName varchar,
    @Description varchar, @ListPrice money, @DiscountPercent money, @DateUpdated datetime
    BEGIN
    SELECT @ProductID = ProductID, @CategoryID = CategoryID, @ProductCode = ProductCode,
    @ProductName = ProductName, @Description = Description, @ListPrice = ListPrice,
    @DiscountPercent = DiscountPercent, @DateUpdated = GetDate()
    FROM deleted;
    INSERT INTO ProductsAudit
    VALUES (@ProductCode, @CategoryID, @ProductCode, @ProductName, @ListPrice,
    @DiscountPercent, @DateUpdated);
    SELECT @ProductID = ProductID, @CategoryID = CategoryID, @ProductCode = ProductCode,
    @ProductName = ProductName, @Description = Description, @ListPrice = ListPrice,
    @DiscountPercent = DiscountPercent, @DateUpdated = GetDate()
    FROM inserted;
    UPDATE Products
    SET CategoryID = @CategoryID, ProductCode = @ProductCode,
    ProductName = @ProductName, Description = @Description,
    ListPrice = @ListPrice, DiscountPercent = @DiscountPercent
    WHERE ProductID = (SELECT ProductID FROM inserted)
    END
    I am confused a bit by (1) the location of the error and (2) the reason. I have looked over my defined data types and they all match.
    Could someone offer a second set of eyes on the above and perhaps guide me towards a solution?
    Thank you.

    This is an issue in this trigger. It will work for single record updates alone. Also for your requirement you dont need a INSTEAD OF TRIGGER at all.
    You just need this
    IF OBJECT_ID('Products_UPDATE') IS NOT NULL
    DROP TRIGGER Products_UPDATE;
    GO
    CREATE TRIGGER Products_UPDATE
    ON Products
    AFTER UPDATE
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO ProductsAudit
    SELECT ProductID,
    CategoryID,
    ProductCode,
    ProductName,
    ListPrice,
    DiscountPercent,
    GetDate()
    FROM deleted;
    END
    Now, in your original posted code there was a typo ie you repeated the column ProductCode twice
    I think one should be ProductID which is why you got error due to data mismatch (ProductID is int and ProductName is varchar)
    see below modified version of your original code
    IF OBJECT_ID('Products_UPDATE') IS NOT NULL
    DROP TRIGGER Products_UPDATE; -- LINE 14
    GO
    CREATE TRIGGER Products_UPDATE
    ON Products
    INSTEAD OF UPDATE
    AS
    DECLARE @ProductID int, @CategoryID int, @ProductCode varchar, @ProductName varchar,
    @Description varchar, @ListPrice money, @DiscountPercent money, @DateUpdated datetime
    BEGIN
    SELECT @ProductID = ProductID, @CategoryID = CategoryID, @ProductCode = ProductCode,
    @ProductName = ProductName, @Description = Description, @ListPrice = ListPrice,
    @DiscountPercent = DiscountPercent, @DateUpdated = GetDate()
    FROM deleted;
    INSERT INTO ProductsAudit
    VALUES (@ProductID, @CategoryID, @ProductCode, @ProductName, @ListPrice,
    @DiscountPercent, @DateUpdated);
    SELECT @ProductID = ProductID, @CategoryID = CategoryID, @ProductCode = ProductCode,
    @ProductName = ProductName, @Description = Description, @ListPrice = ListPrice,
    @DiscountPercent = DiscountPercent, @DateUpdated = GetDate()
    FROM inserted;
    UPDATE Products
    SET CategoryID = @CategoryID, ProductCode = @ProductCode,
    ProductName = @ProductName, Description = @Description,
    ListPrice = @ListPrice, DiscountPercent = @DiscountPercent
    WHERE ProductID = (SELECT ProductID FROM inserted)
    END
    I would prefer doing it as former way though

  • Keep failing converting a PDF to w word document

    It's been days that I'm having trouble converting a PDF file into a word document...A message keeps popping saying that an "error has occurred which stopped the processing of the PDF.

    Hi ioannay44277706,
    I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble converting your file. It sounds like the issue is with one particular file, is that correct? How large is that file? Are you converting via the ExportPDF web interface or via Reader?
    It may be that the file is too complex to convert before the ExportPDF service times out. For starters, please try clearing the browser cache, and logging back in the https://cloud.acrobat.com. Any luck?
    Best,
    Sara

  • Convert Folders to Collections?

    When I started using Lightroom back in the 1.0 beta days, I started organizing my photos by folder - not for any particular reason, it was just the way I picked. Fast forward a few years, and I have nearly 47,000 photos divided into folders across three hard drives. I've recently come to realize that I should really just keep my photos on the disk organized by date or something similar, and use collections in Lightroom like I had been using folders. I realized this the first time I had a photo that belonged in two separate folders. Here's my question:
    Is there any automated way to duplicate my folder structure using collections instead? Then I could reorganize my files by date. I'll learn the plugin dev stuff and write a plugin to do it if I have to

    In that case you can either restore older and older catalogs until you've corrected the 'collection' problem but lost all of your work since then (!!!), or just stick it out with your current catalog and try to fix the problems as you find them, but at least not losing your latest work ... (neither are particularly nice options!).
    Or you could merge the older catalog (with the correct collections) with the newer work, and lose nothing!
    But I agree that collections exist only in catalogs, and thus are of limited benefit if you plan to use your photos outside of LR.
    Add to this the chance that (as raised in other threads) LR hasn't even bothered to write out all of your changes to XML files on your disk
    This is the user's fault, not Lightroom's fault.
    and you see how much trust we *have* to put in the catalog ...
    I have a huge amount of faith in the LR catalog. The part about Lightroom not bothering to write out the changes to the files is in the same sentence, but the two issues are not related.
    I see comments in the forums to not harp on about performance because LR is more about DAM than about manipulating images, but that's a crock - there seem to be more issues with keywords/collections/smart collections/folder manipulation than with its performance!!!
    While LR is not perfect, it does have bugs, I don't think you have provided evidence of a single issue with keywords/collections etc. (other than in the vague and unspecified "other threads"). I have had zero problems with Lightroom properly storing and remembering my metadata, and I guess I haven't seen those "other threads".

  • Converting folders to albums

    Hello,
    I'm trying to migrate from iPhoto to Photos with the latest Yosemite update.  I was never a fan of "Events" in iPhoto, but I went with it because it was the default.  When I originally imported all my photos into iPhoto years ago it automatically created Events for each of my folders of pictures.  I was hoping that importing a folder structure would do the same thing, but it appears not.  I've gone back and edited my iPhoto library so that it is current and I can import it into Photos, but its going to create a weird split in my library based on May of 2015.  Any new albums I create will appear in the album list, but all iPhoto Events that have been turned into albums will be in the nested folder.  I used to have an Event titled "Misc" that I just stuck random stuff in which spans nearly a decade worth of dates... making Apple's Moments - Collections - Years hierarchy useless.  Is there any way to make Photo recognize a folder structure in finder and turn each folder into an album at import?  Or can you removed albums from the "Events from iPhoto" album in Photos?  I don't understand Apple's insistence that all photos fall nicely into little date-dependent and related sets.
    Thanks

    You need to point to the project you want to import to. If you have the project selected that is what it defaults to. If none is selected it creates a new project.

  • Converting folders to projects?

    My first attempt to use the "import folders into a project" command resulted in my accidentally importing my entire "pictures" folder (40,000 images) into aperture as a sub-category of an existing project. I was only trying to do a sample. Now my entire pictures folder and all its sub and sub-sub folders are in my aperture library -- not as projects as I'd like them to be, but as sub-folders and albums.
    Is there a way to re-categorize these, i.e. bump them up so that individual folders/albums become their own projects?
    Am I making sense?

    Tranquilo,
    You can easily organize your import into more manageable projects.
    While there is no command or shortcut key to "promote" a folder or album to a project, here is a workflow that should work for you. I have tested the process out on my system.
    To organize and move photos and albums to different projects:
    1. Create a project (Command + N). You can name the Project at this point.
    2. Go to the Browser Only view from the View menu or cycle through views to get to the Browser using the V key.
    3. Click on the folder you wish to become a project. This will put only those images from that folder into the Browser.
    4. Select all the images in the Browser that you want to become a new Project.
    5. Drag those images on top of the new Project icon in the Projects tab.
    6. You will see a "Move Master" alert telling you that doing this will move the Master from the original project to this new project. Click Move.
    7. Repeat these steps until all images are moved into appropriate projects.
    After moving the Masters images to the new projects, you can also move the Albums and Folder icons into the Project as well. This will simply keep the Album or Folder organization you might have done in Aperture. Otherwise, you can discard the album or folder once all images have moved to their projects.
    Note: Albums and Folders can reference images from many projects. However, albums do not house the Master files or Versions; that is the Project's role. Albums and Folders only reference the images from the project(s).
    Hope this helps.

    We also deployed 8.12 to over 1000 users with the "Disable PDF in browser" option checked using the customization wizard. Now we're finding some users need it to view certain PDFs in a web-based application.
    We would like to add the option, but removing the registry key doesn't actually install the option when you check it. It seems you might have to create a new mst then redeploy. We'd really like to not have to do that, if at all possible.
    In the Reader archives, one guy suggested running this:
    msiexec /i Adobe_Reader_8.1_MUI.msi ADDLOCAL=ReaderBrowserIntegration
    I haven't tried that yet. Any feedback or other suggestions?

  • PDFMaker freezes in Word 2007

    I have Acrobat 9 installed (up to date) and when I use PDFMaker to convert a fairly large Word file (30 pages) it will freeze towards the end.  I can use it on smaller files, and I can use the "built in" PDF converter that Word has on the large file with no problems.  It works in Excel with no problem, although I have not tried a large Excel file, just standard size. I have tried to repair both programs with no success.
    I am at a loss as to why this is going on and cant find any fixes specific to the verions of word and acrobat being used.  Any help would be great. Thank you!
    This is for one of my users and they would like to use the PDFMaker if possible.
    XP Pro
    Office 2007
    Acrobate 9 up to date

    Thanks guys,
    John, the PDF XPS add in does work, but the user would like to continue to use the PDFMaker if possible.  That is our fall back though if we cant get it figured out.
    Bill, the print to PDF function does work also.  There are no graphics of any kind, some tables but thats about it.
    Both of these will work, its just they would like to use the PDFMaker, and I would like to know why its freezing only in Word 07, only with large files, one of those great mysteries!
    Thanks!

  • Can't convert Word doc to pdf

    In the past, I have used both the adobe drop down menu in Word (Office 2007 version) and opened office documents in Adobe (Professional 8) to make pdfs, but now neither of those work.  If I go thru Word, it looks like its working, but then you see the Word doc instead of the pdf version, and if I search for the newly created pdf, it doesn't seem to exist.
    When open Adobe and create pdf that way, it starts converting, and then says there has been an error and PDFMaker cannot convert the document.

    If you are Windows, have you tried repairing your installation?
    If you are on a Mac, have you deleted your Acrobat preference files?

  • Converting Word Hyperlinks to PDF as "New Window"

    I have a user who has a Word 2003 document which has a lot of hyperlinks.  In Word, the "Target Frame" setting associated with the hyperlinks is set to "New Window".  We use Adobe PDFMaker to convert the Word document to a PDF.  The hyperlinks convert into the PDF file, however when you click on the link, it opens in the same window.  How do we get it to open in a new window, so that the original PDF file as well as the linked PDF file are both open?

    To expand on what DevyaniB said. This is an application preference, not a document preference. You can set this preference for your computer, not on another user's computer.
