PDFs generated by our Fusion 11g Reports Server do not look correct on iPhone and some Chrome machines

We auto generate PDF reports from our Oracle Fusion Report Server running on Windows.  The PDFs look fine on our Windows machines but they lose their formatting on iPhones, iPads and even some Windows Chrome browsers.   I checked the Properties of the PDF and fast-web view is disabled on the PDFs.  Has anyone had this issue and found a solution?  I am trying to find where I can modify the PDF settings so I can perhaps try to embed fonts or play with the settings to see if anything makes a difference.
Thank you.
Ignacio

    Hi everybody,
I have a master report running under OC4J.Under this master report 1000's of other reports are runninng by using the srw.run_report.Report name and other required parameters are taking from the database. My aim is to send all generated PDF reports by using the javamail. My problem is report server is not saving any reports until the completion of the master report.Once the master report is completted we can see all the reports under the specified folder, before that we can not see the out put in the folder .So the above reason my mailing part is getting faild because of system cannot find the specified file in that particular path
Hi anybody know how to save each pdf report in a folder insted of waiting the completion of entire report
Is any particular report configuration is required for that?
srw.runreport is running in the batch mode

  • Error Message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control.  I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control.  I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly.  I am
    getting an error message.
Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file?  Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?
I am getting the following error message:
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.
The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

    Hi bucaroov,
The error "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found." means the ReportServerURL configured in the ReportViewer control is invalid.
Please follow these steps to solve the issue:
    Logon the Report Server machine.
Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
Copy the Report Server URL from 'Web Services URL'.
Logon the application server(in this case, it is the server that host the web page), check if we can use the URL we got from step 3 to access the Report Server. If so, please replace the ReportServerURL in the ReportViewer control with this URL. If it is
not available, could you please post the error message.
Additionaly, we don't need to provide the extension for a server report. The ReportPath should be like: /<reports folder>/<report name>

    Hi Vivek,
In Reporting Services, values for LogonUser, LogonDomain, and LogonCred are created when the report server connection is configured to use a domain account. As to the error that “The encrypted value for the "LogonCred" configuration setting cannot be decrypted”,
we can know that it relates to the domain account for report server connection.
To fix this issue, we can refer to the following steps:
Log in to SQL Server Database Engine in SQL Server Management Studio.
Under Security folder, give sufficient permissions for your domain account.
Open your Reporting Services Configuration (go to Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration Tools -> Reporting Services Configuration)
Navigate to the Database Setup tab, select ‘Service Credentials’ as the Credentials Type, then type your domain account and password in there. Press Apply.
    Restart the Report Server services.

    Hope this helps.

In most cases you can just select the text and copy/paste. You can do that unless the file is a picture/scan.

I fixed the problem.  I opened Preferences in ICal and entered my new password.  No more pop-ups

In the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete the account and re-enter it - sometimes that resolves this
Or IMHO the best long term solution is to set Apple Mail as the iPhoto e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and use it - it has a number of advatages and has fewer problems

    Hello Friends,
I am trying to create pdf files from the report server command line, It works fine when I run the command from ORACLE User but when I run it from any other user I get error
REP-0178: Reports Server rep_001 cannot establish connection.
Command line that I am using is :-
    /abc/home/rwclient.sh server=rep_001 report=/abc/home/auto.rdf destype=file desname=/abc/home/report001 desformat=pdf userid=${ID}
I am using a personal copy of reports.sh in /abc/home/
It is also working fine when I run it from the browser report server link, the only issue is it didn't work through command line for any user other than Oracle.
    OS : Linux x86_64

    Small update again,
I skipped using the downloadable oc4j/j2ee and tried using the one that came with 10.2.0.1 installation (patched to 10.2.0.3)
    It starts up fine saying:
    07/03/28 21:31:27 Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0) initialized
It started up all well with the downloadable latest containers too, but got different errors running the apex_fop.jsp file.
well with the version that came with the database it says in the PDF file after I tried to generate it from a report:
    Error 500:
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file
    Anyone got any idea?

  • Doubt on 11g reports server (rwservlet.properties)

    Hi ,
We are using oracle fusion middleware forms & reports(11.1.1.2.0).For reports,we have setup standalone report server. As per my understanding by reading the documentation,
Based on rwservlet.properties(server & in process parameters) under $DOMAIN_HOME, wls_reports send the request to in process server or standalone.
But in our configuration,we didn't change anything in rwservlet.properties.It is still pointing to default in process server and <inprocess>yes</inprocess>. But our reports are working fine. How wls_reports(rwservlet) correctly communicating to our standalone report server eventhough it points to in process server?
Please give your replies on this.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • PDF printing--tomcat/cocoon installed, but report server not found------

As I understood, APEX 3.1 requires either BI/FO tools to enable PDF printing.
As I do not have BI license, and as I happened to check a very good link on a blog which had a detailed viewlet on apache-cocoon route for PDF print enabling, I downloaded the tomcat, cocoon source files, built the cocoon .WAR, put it in required place as instructed, started tomcot (ran into pronblems because of port conflits, resolved these by configuring different ports for 8005 and 8080 ports).
Now, when I want to configure the external report server, I am stuck.
I am not able to locate 'Instances' tab, or 'manage environment settings ' tab in 'manage services'
I am able to find only following tabs in 'manage services' under HOME.--> Administration ----> Manage services
    1) session state
    2) caching
    3) workspace preferences
    4) applications
    5) workspace
    6) workspace schema reports
    7) Logs
Can anyone help me to find out where to configure the 'report server' now?
    Thanks,
    suresh.

Sorry, it was a silly problem:) You have to be logged in as admin to 'see' the 'instances' tab. maybe in all the tomcat/cocoon build/config issues, this simply got off my head!
now, the problem of print server config is over, I have configured the same. the 'print' link is available now in report region, when I run the report. but when I click the 'print' link, it is taking ages...or rather it is still processing...!!
Can anyone please point out to me now what is the problem...?
    thanks.

    Hi,
the Reports Services is not a process by default but a Servlet. Just try and call a Reports by using http://host:port/reports/rwservlet?report=<name>&userid=<database access>&destpye=cache&desformat=htmlcss&paramform=no
By omitting the server=<report server> parameter the in process server is started and used.
