PDFs in X are now hard to read unless lots of zoom. Any solution?

Used to have Reader 9. Pdfs, even if small, were easy to read on screen.
But now with Reader 10 (X), PDFs, even when shown on screen at 8.5" x 11" or larger on my 24" monitor, are difficult to read. End up having to use lots of zoom to make the document readable. But since only part of the document is now on the screen, I have to scroll.
Thought that Reader 10 would be an upgrade to 9, but the reading of PDFs has greatly deterioriated.
Is there any solution to this? Is this a known bug?

I would like to add that Comcast is my internet provider. Perhaps that is part of the issue although the Connection Doctor confirms the mail box is connecting to the internet. No other function processes when Connection Doctor program is used to find the source of the issue. I have read forum posts but am unable to find a way to get my Apple mail to be delivered to my computer. It worked fine up until I chose to transfer mail to the Cloud. My mail account is a .mac account.
Still hoping someone out there can help me.

he's saying that you should bring it in to the apple store for repair
and if you live far away from an apple store you should most likely bring it in to where you bought it
because it's a hardware defect which no software fix would solve

Looking for a reason to stay with Verizon as my monthly plan cost has increased dramatically in the past year. Forced to change plan at last upgrade, and lines that used to be $10/mo are now $30/mo. I cannot afford this any longer.

When I last upgraded, I was told that my current plan (unlimited data was no longer an option) was obsolete. I had to go with the family plan and choose a data plan. Also, the non-smartphones on the account are now $30/mo rather than $10 as they used to be. The cost of service has increased dramatically in the last 18 months. Why, when other services are offering unlimited data and less expensive monthly lines, does Verizon not offer this to at the very least, long-time, loyal customers?

However his reply was 100% spot on. You may not like his answer but not liking it does not change the accuracy of it.
If you purchased at full price the unlimited data would have stayed.
But when people say upgrade they normally mean a free phone or greatly reduced phone with a two year contract.
The plan change was not necessary unless you purchased smart phones. If you were buying clam shell basic phones only then no plan changes should have been done.
You had 14 days to back out of the deal. Because you did not do so does not mean Verizon did not explain all your options.
You can port out and have Sprint or T-Mobile refund your early termination fees. I read this morning AT&T is also doing this on a limited basis.
Or you can go to Boost mobile or Net10 or Cricket prepaid all you can eat unlimited talk, text and data.
Also look at consumer cellular they may be just what you need.
They range from $10 to $50 check them out.

Opened PDF of iPhone guide, very hard to read

Maybe I'm missing something, but even a 3 finger zoom tap doesn't help to read.
Resolution not good zoomed in.
Seems to treat PDF as an jpeg image.
Is there a special app to read PDF's on iPhone?

Using Lion. Stamped a project with metadata and all the first pictures in a stack are now square when they were not before. Any ideas how to get them back to their original shape?

I created the metadata for a project and lifted the metadata, hit Command A to select over 1000 photos and stamed the entire project. It rated all the pics with 3 stars and made them all square. Clearly not my intent. Can't seem to undo. Any ideas?

Let's start with this: do they all show that they have a Crop adjustment applied?
Are they square in both the Browser and the Viewer?

PC CD ROMs Cannot read them on our mac - any solutions

I hope I am posting this in the right place - I'm not sure where the best forum is. We have some PC CD ROMs which we need to view but the mac will not read them. Is there a way to do this - a download or software we need to buy. The CD ROMs are really important but quite useless at the moment.
Would be really grateful for an answer or if some one could let us know where to post question.

If Stuffit Expander doesn't open the .exe files, then they are most likely PC only executables. There are several solutions for opening .exe files written here:

Other files on the CD you may be able to read with the Mac's built-in software. Look carefully at the file's filename suffixes, and we can tell you what they are usually able to be read by.

Hey guys, I have an iMac 27 inch. Whenever i connect to the game center it asks me to input my apple id & password. I do so then I agree to terms & conditions followed by inputing my nickname. After doing this stuff it just shows as 'Saving...' and never stops for hours. When I try through chess i get the following error. "Game center account services are currently unavailable. Please try again later". I've tried everything which were there in other discussions but none helped. And just for the extra information my internet is firewalld frrom the datacenter itself. Please provide a solution. Thanks :)

PDFs are now twice as large

I am using Acrobat 7.1 with WinXP.
Over the last several months my usual 10-12-page Publisher newsletters are more than TWICE the .pdf file size they have been previously. I haven't been doing anything differently during that time. I have even now re-printed the older smaller .pub files to .pdf and they are now even twice the file size. Can anyone please offer a solution to this problem? Many thanks.

You may have changed the settings file selection, maybe for the better. You may not have been embedding all of the fonts for instance and now you are. It may also be that you changed from printing to the Adobe PDF printer and started using PDF Maker that by default adds a lot of bloat to the PDF. That bloat can be useful, but not if you are worried about size.

Is there a way to make the icon titles black instead of white? I changed my setting to bold but the titles are still hard to read.
