PDFs not printing from Acrobat Reader 7.0.8

PDF don't print from Acrobat Reader 7.0.8. The same PDFs print from Preview. I've tried many PDF from various sources (over a dozen including those created on my Mac) in every case they print fro Preview and not from Reader.
I'm currently on OS 10.4.7 but This has been an issue for some time and I believe was the case with Reader 7.0.7.

FIXED!
Priner Setup Utility/Reset Printing System
Then added priner again.
Interesting that the only issue was printing from Acrobat Reader and that this fixed it. Probably deleted and "rewrote" whatever file was at issue.

  • Printing from Acrobat Reader 9.1

I can not print from Acrobat Reader 9.1 to my HP printer connected wirelessly to my Mac. I can print fine from any other software on my Mac. Tips and suggestions are welcome!

I'm having the same issue. It all started after upgrading to 10.5.7 and Adobe Acrobat to 8.1.5.
I have an HP Photosmart C7280 and I am able to print via WiFi from all applications except Acrobat (version 8). However, Acrobat will print 1 page documents, but nothing longer.
At first I thought it was the 10.5.7 update. I saw in some other places that downloading and installing the combo update worked better for some folks. I did that, but still no joy.
I did the "Reset Printing System..." thing in system preferences and added the HP back. Still no joy.
I uninstalled and re-installed the HP software (drivers and all). Still no joy.
I uninstalled Acrobat and re-installed from CD so I was back to version 8.0. Still no joy.
I have not re-upgraded Acrobat to 8.1.5, but I don't have high hopes.
I wondering where the fix will come from. Hard to say that the problem is exclusively Adobe... made two changes to my system (OS upgrade and Acrobat upgrade). I have seen folks that dropped back to 10.5.6 and the problem persisted for them. I don't want to go back to 10.5.6 as I don't have that kind of time.
    Printing from Preview for now.

  • Can't print from acrobat reader

I have a mac mini (2011) running lion. I have the latest version of Acrobat Reader installed. When viewing any pdf file, it works fine. However, if I click on the printer icon, nothing happens. Nothing goes to the print queue. Also, if I hit File>Print, the printer dialogue doesn't appear. Nothing happens at all.
I can print pdf files from Preview, just fine, so I know it's not a printer problem.
I've trashed and reinstalled Acrobat Reader, fixed permissions, rebooted and trashed the Adobe Application Support files from Library.
I'm stumped. I have to have Acrobat, as it's the only program that can open certain government forms. I can't "print as image" since I can't even get the printer dialogue to show up. I'm only having this issue on one machine, so I'm completely stumped.
    HELP!

"IF" You are using, OSX.4.11 Try locating , downloading, installing AppleJack (there currently isn't a version for Leopard or Snow Leopard). The to Run Restart holding down the Command-S keys. This put you in Single User Mode (Raw UNIX).
when a screen full of print scrolls through and your left with a Blink Cursor, Type applejack.
simply follow directions. go by the numbers follow them in order they are given.
Now items 3&4 you have to do once for your system, and once for each User Account (name you gave computer when setting up example you gave name as John Smith name for user account would be johnsmith).
Once completed (1-5)  hit return then choose Reboot or Shutdown.
In your case choose r and then hit return.
when it restarts wait, a whole bunch of cache files were dumped. You may even see the "dreaded "Blue screen for a little bit, and bits and piece of the desktop will appear until completely rebuilt.
    After rebuilt Try printing.
If that doesn't work. Report back and maybe someone else can come up with an idea.

  • Problem with printing from Acrobat Reader XI

SInce I installed Acrobat Reader XI I have got problems with printing out pages. The text starts a bit down (2 cm) on the paper, resulting that the last part of the text on the page will be missing. And the missing part does not follow on page 2, it just don´t comes out!
It doesn´t matter what settings i click in on the print setting page in Acrobat Reader, it always gets the same result.
Does anyone know what can be the problem?

No files appeared in C:\Users\Pavilion\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings but they did appear in Distiller.
I tried to copied them from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Settings, but found they were already there.  I copied them by adding -COPY before .joboptions in the name.  Now they appeared in  Printing Preferences with the -COPY added.
I tested a print from Word (using File / Print), but was not prompted for the filename or location.  I checked my entire system and couldn't find the PDF file anywhere.  I tried changing the Port to Desktop\*.pdf using Printer Properties, but that didn't work either.
I was able to successfully use the Acrobat menu item in Word & Excel to create a PDF but it automatically created the file on the Desktop without an option to change the filename.
After several days and hours, I gave up and installed Acrobat X on the W7 computer.  I can still use Acrobat XI on the W8 computer.  So be it!
Thanks anyway for your attempts to help.

  • Printing from Acrobat Reader

I have a pdf form that I made in Acrobat Pro.  My public health nurse is using the form on an IPad to conduct immunization audits.  The saved information on the form prints as a blank on the linked printer.  How do I resolve this?

If you mean 11.0.0, update to 11.0.10 and try again.
If that does not help, try disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Trim Marks Not Printing from Acrobat 9 Pro

I work at an envelope printing company, and we have recently
upgraded my computer (Windows XP Pro SP 3) to Creative Suite 4.
When I try to print a customer's PDF file with trim marks to show
our typesetting department how to place the art, the trim marks
don't print. I have tried every option I can find in the Advanced
section of the Print dialog box. What worked for Acrobat 8 doesn't

  • Captivate 5.5 PDF not opening in Acrobat Reader 9.4.5 - why?

Why won't a PDF created in Adobe Captivate 5.5 open in Acrobat Reader 9.4.5? I keep getting an error at work. I am not able to upgrade my adobe reader at work and am wondering if I NEED Acrobat Reader 10 in order to view these PDFs.

    Update:
My stupidity.  Changed a path and still had the old folder on development computers so all appeared fine.  That was the issue.

  • Printing from Acrobat Reader Linux is many time slower than from Windows Reader

The users are complaining to me that same file is printing one page every couple minute under Linux, while under Windows pages from the same file print one after another very quickly.
Hardware is not affecting that as they are using dual-boot Fedora 14 and XP on the same machines, printing to the same HP LaserJet printer over JetDirect.

Also, I am noticing that scrolling page thumbnails and flipping pages is many times slower under Linux than under Windows on the same machine, but CPU utilization is very low.
Can one of the Linux Acrobat developers look into performance issues please?

  • Fillable Form will not print from Adobe Reader on iPad or iPhone - Works on a PC

I created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro.  I saved it giving it full Adobe Reader capabilities.  I emailed it to myself and a friend so that we could open it up on our iPad and iPhone using Adobe Reader, fill in the information and then print the document.   When we send to print, it only prints the form, but not anything we entered.     When I opened the document in Adobe Reader on my Dell PC, it worked fine and I could print the document including everything that I entered.    What could the glitch be with iPad and iPhone.  We are running the latest IOS6 version with Adobe Reader  installed.  Why won't this work?

It should work with the update to Reader 10.4. "Enhaned compatibility with AirPrint means improved printing of completed forms as well as documents with comments."
I don't have AirPrint on my printer to test. Is your printer AirPrint compatible?
I can get it to work with Printer Pro which I'm running on my iPad.

  • Printing freezes Acrobat Reader various versions

I have one (luckily, just one) client who has a problem printing from Acrobat Reader. So far, this problem has been with v6.x, v7.x, and v9.x (uninstalled 6.x, installed and uninstalled 7.x, and then installed 9.x, trying to solve this issue, with no changes).
For the longest time, there was NO problem printing PDF files. Then, she couldn't print at all, it would bring up an error message. I read where setting/changing the default printer would solve this, and it did -- to a point.
Now, when she tries to print (FILE | PRINT -- read below as to why this is necessary), it will print, but the printer dialog box takes a LONG time to come up (3-5 minutes) and then the drop down menu to select a printer takes a long time to come up, as well.
She travels between various offices, which is why she must use FILE | PRINT -- she needs to choose the printer(s) that are available to her when she logs into the network. There are HP, Cannon, Lexmark, and other printers at these various locations.
The problem *only* happens in Acrobat Reader. All of the other applications print fine.
Today, I discovered something interesting by accident. If she is *disconnected* from a network, and starts a print job (again, FILE | PRINT), the printer dialog box opens almost immediately, as does the printer selection drop-down menu. She can then reconnect to the network, after selecting a printer, and then press OK (to print), at which time it does print just fine.
    So, in a nutshell:
    (1) It *only* happens when trying to print something from Acrobat Reader regardless of version.
    (2) It is *only* slow to bring up the printer dialog box, and printer selection drop-down menu when connected to a network.
    (3) It *will* eventually (say 3-5 minutes later) bring up the printer dialog box, and printer selection drop-down menu, and print, when connected to a network.
    (4) She is using Windows XP (I didnt check on the service pack version, it is, for certain SP2 at least, although she may have allowed Windows Updates to upgrade it to SP3). Multiple printers are being used, from various vendors (HP, Lexmark, Canon, others) so it is extremely unlikely that it is a printer driver issue.
    (5) There are others with identical laptops, Windows XP, and using the same printers and Acrobat Reader who also travel to the same offices and work in the same fashion as she, and they do not have this issue.
So, anyone out there smarter than me, any suggestions about how to resolve this?

Hi, I found this to work
    open cmd
type the following and press enter after each command:
    c:
    cd\
    del arc*.tmp /S
What the command does is that it deletes acrobat temp files that are stored on your pc, which slows down acrobat printing.
I found this info at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403914.html towards the bottom of the page
    Hope it helps

  • Can not longer print pdf from Acrobat Reader

All of a sudden I can no longer print pdf files to my printer.  It is shared by all the computers in our household and any time I try to print from any of the computers now, instead of printing it creates a prn file instead.  I can find no option in the printer properties where selecting or deselecting something to enable or disable printing to files.  All the systems are either MS Vista or Windows 7.  Though there are commands that allow sending a prn to a network printer, they require a named print server, which we don’t have on our peer-to-peer network.
It is interesting that I can create a pdf file in Photoshop on my system and it will print from Photoshop.  I can also print the “problematic” documents for Photoshop, which I only have on one system. But anything created in Acrobat will not print natively from Acrobat reader.

In the Print dialog click on Advanced, then uncheck Print to File.

  • PDF file prints fine from Acrobat reader XI, but not Acrobat Standard XI

I have a 2 page document that is set up as tabloid 11x17, meant to be printed duplexed and folded as a 4 pamphlet.  The document with the same printer settings prints fine from Adobe Reader XI but from Adobe Standard XI, Page 1 prints fine, but page 2 looks like it is  trying to print on the backside of an 81/2x11 instead of 11x17.  I have played with the print settings in Standard, and cannot come up with a combination that prints that document correctly, yet it prints fine from Acrobat Reader XI.  I did double check for updates on both products and installed them.  Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening?  If I print page 2 by itself it does print properly, just not when sent duplexed with page 1.

Well, for those following this thread or needing a solution, I found a work-around though I'm still not sure why the initial problem exists.
In Acrobat 9 Pro, once you have the main print dialogue box open, follow the steps below:
    1) Click ADVANCED
    2) Select PRINT AS IMAGE
    3) Set DPI to 300
    4) Click OK
    5) Make any other typical print setup adjustments as you normally would and finish printing as usual

    Any ideas?

Try disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
