PDFX4 2008.joboptions error

I've searched and read the several threads related to the Acrobat 9.0 Distiller check compliance error message, and I understand that it's related to InDesign and Illustrator CS4 using a new standard when exporting to pdf that is not available, and causes errors in Distiller 9.0 when it's open. And I see that the answer given is to either delete the job options file or ignore it.
I still have 2 problems:
1 -- After searching my entire hard drive, I can not find this job option file -- I can find all the others, but not this specific one. I can see it available inside InDesign when exporting, but no PDFX4 2008.joboptions file appears to be external to InDesign.  So I've not been able to try removing it, because I can't find it. Is it embedded inside Indesign somehow?
2 - I can't ignore it, because we have an automated file creation system with command line code to open and run distiller from an Access form frontend, and when it launches, after the checkcompliance error, all pdfs created show up as blank with the "Warning Empty Job" error.
Thanks for any further help.
-- Nancy

OK, I figured it with further investigation. I had been running Acrobat 7.0 using runfilex.ps files to combine postscript print files into one pdf. We had skipped Acrobat 8.0, and evidently, Adobe stopped allowing file operations to be performed in PostScript.
Using the /F command line option from the code we were using to launch Distiller fixed the issue.

  • Distiller: PDFX4 2008.joboptions bug?

    I newly installed Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (I had no previous version). At starting up Distiller, I get an error message:
    Adobe PostScript software version: 3018.101
    Adobe PDF Settings file read error in PDFX4 2008.joboptions:
    /CheckCompliance out of range
    A quick web search shows that this is not a new problem. Some say that Distiller is not able to create PDF/X4 files and that the error is thus a bug in Distiller itself. Is that true? (I can't find a joboptions file of that name in my system ...)
    Do I need to do anything about it or can I just leave it?

    Yes, it is a bug in Distiller. Since I have no need for that joboption file, I just 86d it.

  • Adobe CS3 - Server 2008 Install Error

    I am in the process of transitioning our organization to a cloud server running Windows Server 2008 x64. I would like to be able to install Creative Suite 3 Design Premium on the new server. I have attempted the install but get the following error at the beginning before the installation will ever really get started "Critical errors were found in setup. Please see the setup log for details". Therefore, I am not able to even start the install.
    I have tried for several hours to research on the web but have not found any definite answer. It does appear that CS3 is not supported by Adobe on Server 2008. Has any one had any luck getting it to install properly on Server 2008? If not CS3, will any of the newer version work on Server 2008 should I choose to upgrade to a newer Adobe product?
    Thank you in advance for any assistance that might be provided. I greatly appreciate it.
    Todd

    Thank you very much for your assistance. I really appreciate it.

  • Crystal Reports 2008-Vista-ERROR-crw32.exe Entry Point Not Found in dll

    Hi Experts,
    I just installed the Crystal Reports 2008 (with SP0) on my Vista (Home) machine.  When I try to start the CR 2008, I am getting the below error message:
    Error Title: crw32.exe - Entry Point Not Found
    Error Message: The procedure entry point ?PrintLegend@CMapXLegend@CSLib300@@QAEXJJJJJ@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library cslibu-3-0.dll
    Here are the things I tried to resolve the above problem:
    1) Uninstall and Reinstall the CR 2008.  -  No change.
    2) I configured the DEP to accept Crystal Reports (Performance - Advanced - DEP allow).
    None of these seem fix the problem.
    Can you please help me kick start the Crystal Reports 2008?
    Thanks,
    Arun

    Please try with this:
    Run a command prompt as administrator. From the start menu, select "All Programs", then "Accessories" and right-click on the "Command Prompt" shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator". From here you can use the following command to disable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) with the following command:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOff
    Keeping your command prompt open, run your setup or other process being stopped by DEP. Then, to turn it back on again, do the same and run the following:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOn

  • Ssrs 2008 r2 error-Forward pointing dependencies are not valid

    In an existing SSRS 2008 r2, report, I am attempting to add a parameter called 'Customer_Category'. I am getting the following error message:
    The report paramter 'CustomerNumber' has a DefaultValue or a ValidVaue that depends on the report parameter 'Customer_Category'. Forward pointing dependencies are not valid.
    I am trying to determine how to fix this error. The 'CustomerNumber' is a parameter value that is obtained by reading from a dataset. In this dataset there are existing other parameters called 'Customer_Type' and 'Customer_Preference'. Both of these parameters
    obtain there values from selections that the user makes when the SSRS report is executing. There are no default values.
    I am trying to have the 'Customer_Category' be the same way where there are no default values and the user must select the parameter value when the report is executing. There should only be one value that the user can select from.
    The new parameter called 'Customer_Category' is the last parameter in the list of parameters. Does the order of parameters make a difference? If so, how can I move the 'Customer_Category' parameter in front of the customer_number parameter?
    Here is the sql that is used from obtaining a list of customers from the dataset for customer_number:
    SELECT   Distinct CustomerNumber
    FROM   BridgeUserCustomer
     WHERE
             Type =  @Customer_Type
      AND Preference = @Customer_Preference and Category = @Customer_Category
     GROUP BY CustomerNumber
    Would you tell me what is wrong and what I can do to solve the problem?

    Create independent datasets for each parameter and try once.

  • SSRS 2008 FIPS error

    Hello,
    We've installed SQL Server 2008 and Reporting Services 2008 on a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise box. I could initially access the Report Server at the default URL, but when I attempted to access the Report Manager, I got a 500 Internal Server Error message. When I looked in the RS logs I found the following:
    ui!ReportManager_0-2!a34!01/30/2009-11:08:40:: e ERROR: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.
    ui!ReportManager_0-2!a34!01/30/2009-11:08:40:: e ERROR: HTTP Status Code --> 500
    -------Details-------
    System.InvalidOperationException: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.
     at System.Security.Cryptography.RijndaelManaged..ctor()
    Once I disabled FIPS compliancy on the server, the issue disappeared and I had full access to the Report Manager. Unfortunately, for this particular project, FIPS compliancy is required, so I need a way to run the manager with FIPS enabled.
    I've looked into this elsewhere and found out that a fix was released for the same issue in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. Is there a fix or workaround for 2008 yet? Has anyone else come across this problem?
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    RLG

    Hi RLG,
    To work around this problem, change the configuration in the Report Manager Web.config file. Specify that ASP.NET use the Triple Data Encryption Standard (3DES) algorithm to process view state data. To do this, follow these steps:
    In a text editor such as Notepad, open the Report Manager Web.config file which is located in the default path: <driver>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager.
    In the Web.config file, locate the <system.web> section.
    Add the following <machineKey> section to in the <system.web> section:
    <machineKey validationKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps" decryptionKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps" validation="3DES" decryption="3DES"/>
    Save the Web.config file.
    If you have any more questions, please let me know.
    Thanks.

    See [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=56787567] wiki. I think I may not have that wiki updated up to FP2.5, so the FP2.5 msm is here:

    Check the version of the CR assemblies referenced in your project. The use the wiki above to deploy the correct runtime.

  • Windows 2008 update error 80072EE5

    Im trying to update my windows server 2008. Im getting the error 80072EE5.  Not sure why. I have an sbs 2003 server that is the main server, it has wsus on it. But it's not setup to distribute updates yet. I've searched this error but nothing comes up that is similar to this problem. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Unfortunately Mr. Garvin gave a pat answer which is massively inaccurate.
    I cannot speak for your experiences, Matthew, but in the WSUS environment, the WUAgent logs the 0x80072EE5 error code for only one reason -- and that reason is indicated by the NAME given to that error code by Microsoft:
    Error_Internet_Invalid_URL
    I am also looking for a fix for this problem.
    I'd be happy to help you.
    Currently I have a computer in the COMPUTERS OU with no WSUS server indicated which is still getting the error even when "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update" is selected.
    Most interesting. Not a *WSUS* issue, mind you, so somewhat outside the scope of this conversation, but I'd be pretty sure that it's essentially the same root cause. Have you considered the possibility of malware on that ONE client exhibiting this behavior?
    Nonetheless, I'd be happy to help you diagnose this problem. Please do the following:
    1. Record the system time on this WU client.
    2. Reboot the client (or restart the Windows Update service).
    3. Launch a scan from the Control Panel | Windows Update applet.
    4. When the scan has completed, locate the logfile at C:\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate.log, and copy the entries from the end of that logfile starting at the first entry timestamped after the time you recorded in Step #1 above. Paste the log entries into a reply
    to this post and let's see what is actually happening.

    Hello.
     I have been trying to install SQL Express 2008, 3 different editions on a Windows 2008 Standard Server.  All of the installers failed just after the install file had finished unpacking itself in a temp folder. No errors or logs were found.
    .Net3.5sp1, Windows Installer 4.5 and PowerShell 1.0 were all installed.

    Ok I found the log file. I used Process Monitor to trace setup.exe and it created SQLSetup.log in %userprofile%\appdata\local\temp\SqlSetup.log.
    these are the lines which seem to be causing the error. Any idea of how I fix this ?

  • SQL Server Express 2008 Installation error. PLEASE HELP.

    Hey guys anyone know what I should do to install SQL Server Express 2008?
    Im running Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit
    These are folders i got on framework folder:
        *      v3.5
        *      v3.0
        *      v2.0.50727
        *      v1.1.4322
        *      v1.0.3705
    Installing SQL Server 2008 Express (run time only)
    And this is the error I get during the process
    "Attributes do not match. Present Attributes (Directory, Compressed), included attributes (0), excluded attributes (Archive, Compressed, Encrypted)."
    I have downloaded and installed all Visual Studio 2008 SP1 Express Ed (C++, C#, VB, WebDev) and all worked well
    I get this error during the "Feature Selection" setup process.
    I also noticed when I tried to use Windows Update, I saw Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1 (KB968369) suddenly available (I have updated windows and installed all important updates before installing Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL). Then I used Windows Update to install SQL Server 2008 SP1 and I still got this error:
    Error
    Code 84B40000 Unknown error....
    I also get this downloading error on SQL Server while installing all 4 Visual Studio Express Editions (C#, C++, VB, WebDev).
    "The following cannot be downloaded:"
    I've already tried the troubleshooting guide about BITS but the tool fix seems to only supports Windows XP Operating Systems.
    Please please please Help Me (^_^).. thanks to all.
    P.S.
    I think this might have some connections to why I get errors on a simple 'Hello World' Website.
    I was just trying to simply make a 'Hello World' Website .. Just THAT on my website.
    A simple Website for me to start. Just showing those text on the website. But when I tried to run (debug) the program. This error shows...
    'Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:5903.'
    I have Build the Web Site and there was no error. Since it was just simply 'Hello World' text.
    Im sure there's some problem but I'm completely stuck here.  I dunno if its connected to the problem above.
    Please help me solve this problem. Thank you so much.
    I appreciate everyone's help.

    In my case I had to uncheck "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties"
    Right click on C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server
    Click Advanced on General Tab
    Uncheck "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties"

  • Oracle 10g on Windows server 2008 R2 - error : Logon failed. Details: ADO

    Hello,
    I have installed Oracle 10g 64bit client on Windows 2008 R2 64bit server. I have installed Visual studio framework 2.0 and 3.5 on Application Server i.e. Windows 2008 R2 64bit Server.
    But when i run report from server, it shows following error message :
    *Logon failed. Details: ADO Error Code: 0x Source: ADODB.Connection Description: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. Error in File C:\Windows\TEMP\testreport {FE5A4BC0-DF74-4E58-87F1-0F203501A3FC}.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.*
    I have created report with design time connection with oracle 10g tables. It runs in my development machine. but when i deployed on windows 2008 r2 bit server, it raised above error. After that, i created another report with command instead of using design time database connection with table, it run on server smoothly.
    So Pls help me to come out from this problem.
    If anyone has solution for it, pls share it
    Thanks in Advance
    Keyur

    Today I installed all software in following order.
    1) First install oracle 10g 32bit client & 64bit client on windows 2008 R2 development server.
    2) After oracle installation, I installed visual studio 2005 and tested crystal report on server in debug mode. It was working completely.
    (Both type of report - report created with the help of command in crystal report & crystal report created in direct reference of database table)
    Then i published my test project and setup on same server for clientside testing. but on client machine, it shows error message.
    that was : The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception.
    One more thing i have observed that was report created with help of command in crystal report was working on client machine. But report in which i have added table direclty, was generating above error.
    Then i installed crredist2005_x86.msi and crredist2005_x64.msi from visual studio installed folder. After installation, error message changed on clinet machine.
    Error Message : Logon failed. Details: Error Code: 0x Source: ADODB.Connection Description: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. Error in File C:\Windows\TEMP\tablesource {EE65A074-2C4E-43DE-A3FC-1FE673093BF1}.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters
    Still in debug mode on server, asp.net project is working with crystal report. I think, when i run asp.net project in debug mode on server, project may be run on 32bit mode. When i run same project from published setup on client machine, it may be run on 64bit mode.
    I can't understand how to solve this problem.
    Pls. help me.
    Thanks in Advance

  • PT 8.53 Windows Server 2008 R2 Error on booting domain.

    Hi all,
    We are setting up a test environment for PT 8.53 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Everything in the installation went correctly then we try to boot the domain in PSADMIN for the first time we are getting an error when trying to:
    exec BBL -A:
    CMDTUX_CAT:816: ERROR: Cannot exec, executable file not found
    tmboot: WARN: No BBL available on site <server name>.
    Will not attempt to boot server processes on that site.
    Tuxedo info: Oracle Tuxedo, Version 11.1.1.2.0 with VS2010, 64-bit, Patch Level 056
    Just seeing if anyone else has come accross this or has any ideas we could try.
    Thanks.

    Interesting, when you did the configure step in psadmin, did BBL start then or does it fail there as well? I've not installed 8.53 yet anywhere, but in my 8.52 env, doing a reconfig will start the BBL to ensure things are shut down. My guess is it fails, which I think would cause your configuration to not occur maybe?
    Command to execute (1-10, q) : 4
    This option will shutdown the domain.

    exec BBL -A :
    process id=12818 ... Started.
    1 process started.
    Attaching to active bulletin board.
    What if you get all your env variables set, and try to run tmadmin by hand?
    set TUXDIR, PATH, PS_MACH, PS_HOME, PS_CFG_HOME, PS_SERVDIR, PS_SERVER_CFG, TUXCONFIG, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, NTSYMBOL_PATH, APPDIR (I think that's all of them, I'd have to look again)
    then from cmd prompt run tmadmin
    at the tmadmin prompt run boot -y
    that would extract psadmin from the process, if that fails to find BBL, then I think you might need to pull out Process Monitor from sysinternals, and trace the tuxedo start process, which will show you what path BBL is really being looked for in, and possible help you solve this. You can also use Process Explorer to review what environment variables are set for what processes (such as psadmin or tmadmin).
    Let me know what you find, as I'm interested in knowing what is causing this.
