PE 2 video doesn't play anymore.
PE 2 has stopped accepting video clips from my Canon PowerShot S5, only the audio plays. This is the case for saved clips tht used to play and for newly downloaded clips. The video only shows flickering black. The clips play fine on QuickTime. Also, previous projects that I've saved don't play anymore. Any sugestions?

Most of the .mov and .AVI files doesn't play anymore with QT 7 or 10
I'm running OS 10.7.5 and most of the .mov files that were generated with Quicktime 7 doesn't play anymore, except in VLC.
I used QT7 because it can still crop and edit videos, instead of QT 10 that came with the system.
QT7 has a also a very nice feature that allow to reset the image ratio, which is sometime very usefull.
I shall say that videos came from a digital recorder I used to tape the TV and those files came as .AVI
Anyway, overnight (probably after an update of iTunes or any part of the system) QT 7 nor 10 can play those files anymore !
Each time I try to open a file with QT it says I need a codec, and leads to the DIVX download page, but installing this codec doesn't solve my problem.
QT7 was a very fine software and worked until now.
Why an update makes my system go backward ??!?
I'm a huge fan of Apple, but that is not acceptable !!!
It just makes me want to purchase on older mac and go back to 10.6 !!!

i want to create an external video widget with iAd to use in an iBook. I followed the steps and copied the Url and paste it in the Video pop-up menu in the Properties section of the inspector. When i select 'preview' the video doesn't play and the Url that i pasted is gone.
hope someone can help!May have something to do with whether or not the URL can be reached while building your widget. I've got a video on the web. When I enter the URL into the field for the video object and click to another field, the URL is replaced with some text indicating that it is accessing the video then updates itself to displaying just the name of the video file.
It shows just fine in preview and I can see the full path to the video when I export the widget so it should work for you.
Is the video accessible from your Mac while you're laying out your widget?

Video doesn't play while audio does during playback
I use FCE 1.0.1 and since I upgraded to Leopard I have had a little problem. When I put the video setting in Fire-Wire, it plays fine with audio playing through my camcorder. But when I put the video setting in Real Time to play the audio through my speakers, the video doesn't play while the audio is playing fine. After 5 or 6 seconds, the audio stops playing too.
My G5 is a single 1.8 GHz processor and I am running 10.5.1
Anything?I appreciate your insight with this. If I could ask one more set of questions; Would you recommend the "upgrade" linked below or the Full version? And what will be the practical differences for me the user?
I have started a new project in version 1.0.1 (capturing and a few edits, etc) since upgrading to Leopard. Will all of my work be there with either upgrade or full version after install?

Video doesn't play on internet
Hey Good People,
I have been scratching my head trying to figure out why this Flash video doesn't play. I checked to make sure it is in the correct format. I've tried FLV and H.264 neither of which plays. The custom play button appears and the alpha goes to 0 when clicked but the video doesn't play. It works in the flash environment and on my desktop when I dropped it into an html shell. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make this work?

Drivers? You need a program to run them such as K-Jams. Then you will need to check your connections from the laptop to the monitor and make sure your settings are correct in System Preferences.

Youtube videos doesn't play until fully loaded
Youtube videos doesn't play until they are fully loaded. It doesn't work for ANY streamed video, not just Youtube. It happens on both Firefox and IE. I tried to uninstall Flash and re-install it, but it didn't help. The only thing that solves it is restarting the computer, but it just returns after some time.

The video card affects playback:Although Flash Player can display high-quality video and images by itself, hardware-accelerated scaling uses the video or graphics card on your computer to display images and video more clearly and quickly than Flash Player can on its own.
Not everyone can use it and that's why turning it off helps. Since you have it turned off, then this no longer affects you.
They may be some add on in the browser that is causing this. Kaspersky had been using a URL Advisor that is an "extension"
but whether you have it I don't know. In IE, in the manage add ons, look for "Show"(very light text) and look in all 4 categories for it.
In FF, it may be in the extensions. I'd look in all, addons, plugins & extenstions.
If you find it, disable it. If you don't find it, then all I could suggest is to disable all IE add ons except Shockwave Flash Object and Java and see it there is an improvement. Then do the same with FF.
Hope you find out what is causing it.

None of the quicktime videos from websites play anymore. This started yesterday. Before that I could play them all. Now none of them work. Has anyone had this problem? How did you fix it? Thanks in advance for the help!

Video doesn't play in Android 4.2.2, but it plays in Android 4.1.2 (Captivate 8)
I have a slide with an event video (mp4). I publish to HTML5.
The video plays as expected in Android 4.1.2's built in browser, but it doesn't play in Android 4.2.2's built in browser.
I have tried with and without autoplay. I've also tried starting the video with a button.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Video doesn't play with .MOV files, only hear sound
I have Elements 9 and I just imported my photos and videos from my new camera - Panasonic Lumix DMC FH27 10 Zoom 16 megapix and when I played them in Elements 9 all I could hear is the sound, all conversation, but the video won't play, just a black screen. The file they trasfered with is MOV . I have Quickplayer installed on my computer already, the lastest version, I just updated. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

i've seen some threads that are discussing the same issue but not the same exact problem. the video doesn't show on my ipod, although the sound works. on itunes, both work fine. i've already set tv out to off so it should be working as the support help has suggested. i know that images work fine since i can see photos on my ipod. it's just the video that isn't working.Still more. Video doesn't play in Audition
Hello.
I have a video file, small four minute clip, without audio which I imported to Audition. Then, I created a multitrack session and added the clip to it to serve as a video reference. Through the clip is added, video does not play on the video tab neither the "frame stills" appear on the timeline, just the film icon. What can I do to make it function properly?
The file is in .avi format. I converted it to .wmv, no luck there. I used an other video file, nothing. I've even updated my graphics card.
Please post if you have a clue on how to solve this.

Videos doesn't play in Front Row photos slideshows...
Well that's a really annoying problem that I was hoping it would be fixed in Snow Leopard, but IT DIDN'T!
When you are in iphoto and select an album ( which contains photos & videos) for slideshow..everything is fine!
In contrast to this, when you select the same album in front row for slideshow, the videos don't play and instead of this you get a black screen.
I have tried this to many machines in Applestores and all behave exactly the sameFouster - you seem alone, but you're not.
I just bought a new Mac Mini to set up as my HTPC (if it passes the wife test..!). I settled on Front Row over Plex for now, since the latter still feels half baked/overly ambitious. When I came to setting up the Photo part, I got the exact same problem you are describing. Nothing but blackness, where video clips should play, and for what seems to be the duration of the actual clip. iPhoto plays them beautifully. What gives?
I have seen other threads where this question got archived without a fix or even a response.
Someone seemed to have fixed it by removing QT7 Pro properly since there was some conflict with QTX. I have a mint Mini, so shouldn't be my issue.
Maybe it has to do with some obscure CODEC missing in QT - I have Perian and Flip4Mac installed but will try further using this link:
