PE 4 Installation with Windows SP3

Is there a known problem installing Premiere Elements 4 on a system with Windows SP3? I installed it fine on my laptop with SP2, but when I tried on my desktop running with SP3, got an error 1008 "The installation of E:\Premiere Elements\Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0.msi is not permitted due to an error in software restriction policy processing. The object cannot be trusted." Any info would be appreciated.

Art,
I have PE4 running on my laptop with XP-SP3 with no problems. What I do not remember is if I upgraded to SP-3 before the installation, but *think* that I did.
The only problems that I encountered were with CS2 Production Studio. I had to do a bit of cleanup and file copying to get Bridge to work, and then had to do a "repair install" for P-Pro and Encore, but all is working well.
Do not recall seeing an error 1008 before in these forums.
It *could* be that PE4 was written, so that it looked for things in SP-2, and now some file names are changed, in SP-3. Still, I belive that I did my PE4 install after SP-3.
Good luck, and maybe someone will weigh-in with exact details.

  • Problems with RAC installation with Windows 2000 Advanced Server

    Hello,
I've two servers in cluster mode with W2K Advanced Server, and a RAID-5 array of 4 disks shared by both of them. My problem is that I've installed The Cluster Service of Windows in order to have an active/passive configuration of my servers, because I have a common directory structure that is accessed by the PC's of the LAN.
By another hand, I want to install Oracle Real Application Cluster to manage my Oracle database but after create the extended partition and the logical drives when I execute the file \preinstallation_rac\clustersetup\clustersetup.exe to create the cluster, when I select the option Create a cluster the following error message appears me:
"Any disk Oracle partition has been found. Stop this wizard, create an Oracle partition and try it
    again."
I'd like to know if it's possible to have the Service Cluster of Windows 2k and the Oracle clusterware?¿ Altough before begining the installation I've stopped my Cluster Service as documentation suggests. If somebody knows what it's happening to me I'd be really very grateful.
    Thanks in advance,
    Isabel

    Hello Joel,
I've already read all documentation provided by Oracle about Real Application Clusters
and I've not found anything to solve my problem. Certainly I want to use OCFS but when I
try to execute preinstall_rac\clustersetup.exe to install CFS the error appear and I can't
    continue with RAC installation.
Besides I've tried command "lsnodes -v" and got :
    Could not load CM.dll
    Could not initialize cluster
And when I've tried to run "clustercheck" I've got :
** Copy File: Create Directory failed - Error 183
    ** Directory = \\192.168.1.111\Cy$\Temp\opsm
    Created directory \\192.168.1.112\Cy$\Temp\opsm
Could not copy file to other nodes [error = 183]
I've read metalink Note 186130.1 Clustercheck Fails with Windows Error 183 and the only
    proof I haven't done is get the clustercheck.exe release1(9.0.1).
Any suggestion will be very appreciated. Thanks,

  • Airport problem with windows SP3

Hello, I have an aluminum 13 inch macbook, and I have problems connecting most wifi connections using my windows side (SP3). My mac OS X side works fine, I can get my home wifi as well as everything else, but on my windows SP3, it is very hard to do so. I am able to connect most unprotected WIFI, and some unprotected ones. Sometimes it also take an insanely long time for it to connect to it.
    Any ideas?

If other devices like your iPhone are connecting to the wireless from the AirPort, then you know that the AirPort wireless is working.

  • Software-Driver Installation with Windows 8.1

After installing the Win8.1 "upgrade", I was able to print with my Photosmart Premium C410a, but several days later when I first attempted to scan, I was unable to. Though there is an HP Printer Control tile on my Start screen, when I launch it, there is an option to install the full-featured software (which used to be functional). When I'm able to download the software--and it's not always successful--I get the splash screen with the option to Install or Exit. When I choose Install, I get an error message telling me that the system cannot find the file specified. Meanwhile, I have what used to be a fully functional all-in-one that only prints!
Per HP guidance on Facebook, I did a fully uninstall, a clean boot, and then attempted to install, and get the same results.
Needless to say, I'm quite frustrated with HP.

    Hi kdbeatty_75
I understand you are unable to install the software. You are getting a message that the file specified can't be found.
    Run the installation again.
When you get the error find out the file specified not found name.
Then copy the 7z directory to another folder on the desktop by the name file specified can't find.
Go to the start up screen, (tiles menu) type
%temp%. Look for the 7z folder (example 7zs2356) right click on the folder and select copy, close that window, on the desktop, right click and select paste. Right click the folder and select rename, type in the name of the file not found, press the enter key.
    Close out the installation.
Run the installation from the new folder. Should have one called setup or setup.exe.

  • Bootcamp installation with Windows 7 Home Premium x64

    Hi,
Here's my Macbook specs for starters:
MacBook Pro, Retina, 15", Early 2013
I've been having a lot of trouble using Bootcamp to make a partition for Windows.  The problem is when I begin launching the Bootcamp assistant and get to the "Copying Windows Files" stage.  The following message pops up:
"Your bootable USB drive could not be created.  An error occurred while copying the Windows installation files."
So naturally I googled this problem across the web and forums, but found not a single satisfying answer or solution.
I thought it might have been the ISO, so I found another one, but actually got a Windows 7 Home Premium x86 iso (32-bit).  Nevertheless, Bootcamp actually worked when I used this 32 bit ISO instead of the 64 bit (both from the same source).  I followed all the steps and got my Windows partition working.  Except I couldn't get any of the drivers to work with it, as the manuals say it has to be 64 bit edition and not 32 bit.  Thus I uninstalled it and tried again with x64, but the same error as above about copying the Windows installation files.
My question is, how do I make bootcamp work with the 64 bit edition Windows 7 Home Premium ISO?  It's fine with the 32 bit edition (x86) but it complains about the 64 bit one (x64).  The irony of this is that the Bootcamp compatibility chart specifically says that Windows 7 64 bit is compatible with the MacBook Pro model I am using.
Or would going to the Apple Store solve this problem?  Would they be able to get bootcamp working for me?  I've got a product key but no disk drive or usb optical disk drive.

    Hi,
May I know if the computer is in a domain? If so, please try logging on with the local user account and see how it works.
If no, remove all external devices connected to computer, and then please try these suggestion:
Start up repair will take care of issues that hinder the system from booting normally such as conflict between existing software and Windows especially the third party software like an ant-virus. We could have a try:

Did you have tried to disable UAC? How is the result?
    If not, try these suggestion:
    suggestion one:
    ==============
please disable the antivirus temporarily to try again.
    suggestion two:
    =============
    a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
    b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
    c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
    d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
    e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed.
    suggestion three:
    ===============
    a. Browse the registry to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Create: DisableMSI       Type: REG_DWORD  value = 0   (0 should allow you to install, it was originally 1)
    b. Browse to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\
Search the list for the product that is causing the error.. delete the folder in the products folder…  this may also
    correct your error.

  • Stuck in the installation with windows using boot camp

I gave windows 35GB on my HDD. When I came to the part in the installation to chose a place to install windows on, all the places that was showing gaved my the answer "you need to have NTFS". The problem was that none of them had it, not even the 35GB space that I made with boot camp for this.
I chose to stop it all and started go back in the installation. But when I came to the choosing of languages I clicked on "x", then my computer started restarting itself. It is know I am stuck.
I manage to get the installation disk out, so now my screen is black and all that is showing is "no bootable device -- insert boot disc and press any key"
I dont know how to get back to ios.
Please help me find a way to get back to iOS!

You must read the Boot Camp directions before charging in, this is clearly covered on Page 7.
Reboot: at the sound of the chime press and hold the option key. When the startup manager loads select OSX to boot from.

This should be a workaround for your problem. Let me know if it works or not.
    1. Create a temporary directory on your server.
    2. Copy the contents of the Oracle RDBMS Server CD to the temporary directory created in step 1.
    3. Search the directory structure created in step 1 for the existence of the filename symcjit.dll.
    4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
    5. Run the setup.exe from the \install\win32 directory and install Oracle 8.1.x.

  • Dell Audigy 2 and Windows SP3 driver and static problems

    SB0243
Ok, Creative you and Dell have left us customer behind and giving us the shaft.
I know you tell us to go to Dell to get drivers, and Dell still has the same driver posted they had when i bought my PC in 2003.
Funny thing is that the only driver i find that work without the static problem is the one from the creative CD from 2003. The only catch is that none of the other sound Apps will install or work with windows SP3. So you end up with a card that has sound without static but only in two speaker mode, no mixer, EAX, CSMM, sound bank, etc... you know all the other stuff.
I have installed Danial K driver at one time and they worked good for months then the static came back one day. Now after a fresh install of windows with SP3 i end up here with only the old driver working with just two speakers.
This is very sad that a big company like creative can not create a driver that works with current software. You need to fire all your programmer and go hire two with all the money you paid everyone else and maybe then these two top programmer might be able to make something that works. This has become a joke in the sound industry.
It was said that this ship is sinking, i think it has sunk at this point, us rats are jumping ship to some other card that works. Most likey it is not going to be from creative.

  • CS4 Installation on Windows 8.1 Setup error

So, after getting quite quite annoyed at this, I am asking the question:
How do i fix the "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue" error on installation with windows 8.1
Details of things i have tried and know
So, New install of Windows 8.1
    Windows CS4 Production Premium
No previous version of Adobe has been installed (CCCleaner therefore doesn't work)
Compatability mode, set to Windows 7, or Windows vista service pack 1, brings up same result.
I am a student, and therefore can't afford to sign up to a 1 year contract for £185.88 (nor the "cheaper" one off £185.90)
As i am not a subscriber, i can't gain access to the Adobe Live Chat.
    Please, someone help.

    Okay,
I have solved this. Thank you kindly, Kartikay.
Problem: Account's Documents Location had been moved from original location.
Solution: Move documents back to original location
If top solution doesn't work then:
    Create new admin account.
    Install from that account.
Once installed, you are free to delete account and all files from new account.
    CS4 works perfectly

  • Satellite L500-128 - Clean installation of Windows 7 64bit

hello guys. I want to make some questions
I have windows vista in my laptop and I want to make a clean installation with windows 7 64 bit. I have seen that drivers are ok in the site. So here are my questions
    a) should i delete the hidden recovery partition or not? (eisa config if i remember correct)
    b) I have taken 4 dvds with toshiba recovery disc creator. If I erase every partition in the laptop how can I restore my DVDs? With a programme in Windows or just setting bios to boot from dvds and then the procedure is automatic? Is the first dvd bootable?
thanks in advance and sorry for my english

    Hi buddy,
    > so the disks i took backup what is it?
I assume you mean the Toshbia recovery disk. Right?
If yes this disk contains an image of factory settings. That means if you use this disk and install it, you have the same settings as you purchased it. So its called recovery disk / factory settings.
The recovery disk will always work. You can create 10 partition and/or install Linux. The recovery disk will always work and restore factory settings. With this disk you are on the safely side. :)
Furthermore the recovery disk doesnt contain programs that you have installed yourself. You can install what you want but the content on recovery disk is always the same.
    > so where is the partition that the toshiba programme made backup???
To be honest this question isnt clear and detailed.
Generally the installed programs from Toshiba dont create a backup autmatically.
If you mean the HDD recovery option, the folder with this content and files is stored on the second partition in folder HDDrecovery. As I already wrote, the files are always the same and have nothing to do with the programs that you install. If you delete this folder, you cant use the HDD recovery option anymore.
And Windows recovery environment has nothing to do with Toshiba. You will find this feature on all Vista and Windows 7 computers. But both versions are completely different.
Last but not least if you want to create a backup of your current settings with all installed applications, tools, etc. you have to use an additional backup software like Acronis True Image. It creates also an image but of your current settings. ;)

  • Adobe Acro 8: Update of AcroPro.msi on AIP fails with windows installer error.

    Hi,
Creating a AIP with Adobe Acrobat 8 files.
Have created a AIP without any problems.
When i try to add patches to the AIP using the MSIEXEC /a "" /p "" i get a Windows Installer error saying:
"This package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact tha application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
What can be the cause of this?
The update packages are fresh downloads from Adobe.com.
Using WinXP SP3 with Windows Installer 4.5.

I hope you have gone through the solution posted on http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/498/cpsid_49880.html

  • Oracle 7 install fails with Windows XP SP3

After installing Windows SP3 on systems with XP Professional 32 bit, we cannot install Oracle 7.3.4, which is required for an older 16 bit program. Running the Oracle 7 setup.exe returns an error "setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application". The installer file is not corrupt, we can still run the setup successfully on any computers that still have XP Pro SP2 installed.
However, systems that had Oracle 7.3.4 installed prior to the Windows SP3 update will run the software OK; it is just new installations of Oracle 7.3.4 that fail.
I have tried running the install off of a CD, network drive, and copied the files to the local machine, all return the same error. I have tried different users all with Admin privileges. I tried installing with each compatibility mode checked, clean booting the machine, and updating Windows Installer. I always get the "setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application" error.
    Any suggestions or info?
    Thanks

    Here is some updated information.
Systems that have been in service for a long time and updated from Windows XP Pro SP2 to SP3 will not run the Oracle 7 installer. All machines that still have SP2 will run the installer.
However, systems that we recently formatted and reinstalled Windows XP Pro with SP2, and then updated to SP3, will run the installer for Oracle 7 with SP3 already installed. This indicates that it is not SP3 that is the issue. It could be an update that was done in the past (Microsoft or another software vendor), or some different file that is on the other machines (same brand, models, and OS, just been in service without being formatted recently).
We also have Oracle 10g on all the systems, but the old CrisPlus program probably won't run with Oracle 10g, because we have to add "C:\ORAWIN\BIN" to the system Environmental Variables or we get a "Ora7win.dll" error when launching the CrisPlus program. An Oracle expert or programmer may know how to work around this issue, but I do not know how.
This does give us options to fix the Oracle 7 issue. Either rollback the SP3 update and then install CrisPlus prior to the installation of SP3, or format the systems and reinstall Windows XP Pro, Service Pack3, and Oracle 7.
Thanks for the input. If anyone thinks of an easier workaround please let me know.
