PE on mac not recognising serial number

I'm sure there an excisting thread but I can't find it.
My problem is that a version of PE 6 that came with a scanner is not accepting the serial number on the packet.
I've tried uninstalling, running the cleanscript and reinstalling but the result is the same.
system = macmini (dual intel processer) 2gb ram - OS 10.5.8
scanner = Epson V700
Any help gratefully recieved

A personal note - I used Photoshop for years at work before I retired. I like Photoshop but don't like having to 'geek' it to get it to install.

Unfortunately, you need to contact Epson for problems with their bundled products. If clean script didn't help, you might try running it again, maybe both the CS3 and CS4 versions, but if that doesn't work, it sounds like a problem with the serial number they gave you, which only they can sort out.
EDIT I wouldn't give up on cleanscript yet, though. A few people have had to run it more than once. I'd also create a new user for the install.

Photoshop CS3 is not tested on Windows 7 and you might face compatibility issues.

CS2 InDesign not recognising serial number

On starting up InDesign CS2 a dialogue box came up asking me for my serial number (I have had CS2 for four years or so now and have never had to enter it apart for the first run). However on entering the serial number it says: 'The serial number you provided is not valid. Please check your serial number and re-enter it' leaving me unable to open InDesign and so access my files. Also Illustrator CS2 on opening now just shows the splash screen and goes no further (giving me the spinning beach ball). However Photoshop and Bridge both open fine. I have deleted preferences to no avail. I have even reinstalled InDesign and Illustrator from my original CS2 Cds (which accepted my serial number) but I get the same when trying to open the programmes. The only thing I can think that has gone wrong is that Adobe installed an update yesterday (I think of Version Cue) and everything worked fine until I closed down and did a restart this morning. Has anyone experienced the same - I am really stuffed until I can sort this out and posting on Adobe Support says that will get back in 3 days!

It was definitely the update last week (I think to the actual Adobe updater itself) as InDesign on my cloned bootable drive opened OK until I inadvertently updated that too (hadn't cottoned on that that was causing the problem at the time). Consequently I have started from ground zero as the advice Adobe sent me didn't work:
"Regarding your concern, we would request you to launch any other product from the suite and then by going into Help->Deactivate, check the box "Erase this serial number" and then click on deactivate. After doing this, quit the application and launch InDesign CS2 and enter the serial number when it asks you for it and it should accept the serial number."
This was mainly because under help I had 'Activate' which was obviously greyed out (as it was active) and the only other available thing was to transfer activation which didn't have the "Erase this serial number' option!
Also I had to remove the InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop folders form my start up hard drive so that the installation CDs would let me install them on my now ex clone hard drive.
Good job I wasn't doing anything in particular this weekend!
Ditching prefs and stuff didn't seem to work for me hence the reinstall of OSX etc as I couldn't find the offending bit which was probably hidden deep in the Libraries somewhere.
Just to note: InDesign demanded the serial number and then said it was invalid, Illustrator got to the splash screen and then just hung but Photoshop and Bridge opened.
Sorry to be the bearer of such good news. But - remember - turn off the updater NOW and if you need to update download directly from the Adobe website.

Anytime a user runs LR for the first time after a reboot it asks for a serial number. this is true for both local administrators, Open Directory Admins, and non-admin users.
I called Adobe, but because it's a volume educational license, it has to go to Tier 2 and they charge for that.

If the machine is brand new I don't see why the serial Number is missing (it is entered on to a special chip at the factory)
However if the machine is a return and has been refurbished then the Logic/mother board may have been changed and someone forgot to put the info back to the new board.

Check that the serial you are using is the correct one..
Typically the problem is either you are misreading the serial and therefore typing it in wrong. Check you are correctly entering zeros or O.. and so on....
or...
You bought the LP9 upgrade version.... which requires the LP8 full serial as well.
If it is the LP9 upgrade serial.. (and not the LP9 full serial) you must enter your original LP8 full serial first and then the upgrade serial for LP9.. when it asks for it.
Failing that.. you can obtain a replacement serial from Apple.. using this form.....

Don't really see an easy way to do that. You don't get an option to say
machine name not= to serial number or visa versa. The only thing I can
see to do is create a basic workstation report and display machine name
and serial number and do a side by side comparison.

Do you have Acrobat only License no or is it a part of suite. If Acrobat X pro is a part of suite then you need to use the suite setup to install Acrobat.

creative cloud does not use a serial number. it uses your adobe id.
download the creative cloud desktop app (after signing in with your adobe id), Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial
and use the desktop app to install your adobe creative cloud programs.

It does not magically appear in a new place. It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Remote installation - invalid serial number: could not retrieve serial numb

I am unable to use the remote setup admin assistant, and get a demand for a serial number, yet when I enter it, get the message-"invalid serial number: could not retrieve serial number". Unfortunately the tech support number for the Philippines does not work (get a recording saying that it is not yet working), and the Australian number calling long distance is constantly busy. I have wasted two days trying to set up the mini server for this enterprise and am amazed that there is no easy way to contact Apple for a solution.

Kind of obvious but which serial number are you using? Using the remote assistant requires the serial number of the MacMini itself. The first 8 letters. You'll find this serial number on the underside of the MacMini. Better still the box as it's easier to read. Although in the past it's not really been case sensitive I have found the last 2-3 years where keying in Caps where appropriate tends to be more successful. I have had a colleague report problems unless the whole of the Serial Number was used.
