PE11 create video using MTS files - best conversion?

Hi,
I have been using iMovie 11 for a couple of years now but have noticed lately that the quality of my new video camera footage has become very grainy and a major loss of quality compared to the original MTS files i have - especially when someone is wearing black you can see how grainy the video becomes.
My video camera is a panasonic sd-80 which creates MTS files.
I have decided to give PE11 a go and my question is - what is the best video output for me to create without loss of quality?
I am using a Dell XPS8500, 8GB Ram, 3rd Gen i5.
The final file would be used to watch on a pc or stream on PS3.

Probably the best output for your PS3 would be a BluRay disc -- although you can only burn a BluRay if you've got a BluRay disc burner on your computer. You could, however, burn BluRay files to a DVD for your PS3 if your video is under 20 minutes long by using Publish & Share/Disc/AVCHD with the 4.7 gig preset.
For viewing on your computer, I'd recommend you use Publish & Share/Computer/AVCHD with the YouTube HD preset. This will produce an MP4 that should be virtually identical to your original video in quality.

Generally one of the fixes that they list will fix the issue you're experincing.
Make sure you have a internet connection when doing the steps for the license fix issue though.

Create Client Using WSDL files

Hi All,
I've completed the following -
1. Created the scenario SOAP => XI => RFC
2. Using XI configuration , generated WSDL specifying the Message Interface which triggers the scenario in XI.
http://<serverhost>:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=<party>:<ServiceName>:<Channel Name>
3. Transported this WSDL to local directory
now when i retrive wsdl from XIServer to Create Client
it gives exception
and i didn't retrive WSDL files
so please help, i have WSDL file how to Create Client using WSDL file.

I am using MTS files. They load in PE fine. The problem is when I try to play them, I just get audio and no video. I have installed the latest updates. Is there a CODEX that I need.

I have windows 8.1. I have downloaded the mts files from my video camera onto my hard drive. I have loaded a subset of these mts files into premier elements and they show up fine. I can bring them to the time line without a problem. The issue is that when I click on them, I only get the audio and no video. Normally when you click a thumbnail, the picture shows in the large screen. That screen remains blank.

2. My driver before you response was 3/4/14   9.18.13.3523. I went to Nvidia and downloaded and installed latest driver 7/2/14 9.18.13.4052
3. Rebooted and checked APE and no change in the problem. Still doesn't show video when I double click an thumbnail or if I single click it does not show a video image in the large screen.
4. Some things I have done to try to resolve the problem.
     a. Searched this forum for a similar problem. I didn't see one.
     b. Did a web search to see if I could find a solution outside this forum
     c Went into "edit" and tried some changes in project preferences and setting to see if that would make a difference
     d. Tried to contact Adobe support to speak to a person but that seemed difficult and could never figure out how to do it.
5. I have always loaded AVI clips into this program and this is the first time I have tried MTS files. When I opened the new project, the program notified that I had to change something??? to load an MTS file and asked me if I wanted the program to do this for me. I said yes and here I am.   I seem so close to making it work.   Thanks

Using MTS files with iMovie

I'm having a real nightmare working with .mts video files. I'm not sure if this is the best forum to discuss, but I'm willing to try anything at this point.
I have a Canon Vixia HFR20 camera that saves in .mts format, and I'm trying to find a good way to edit/convert those videos with iMove '11 to be posted on a website and burned to DVD. Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to go about this? I have found a few free converter programs like WinX, but the results always look kind of crappy - lots of jagged edges and what not. My other main problem is that the .mts files appear to split after they reach a size of 2.05 GB so even though I'm only shooting one continuous video, I end up with 2 or more files. If there's a way to import the seperate files as one continuous video that would be fantastic.
I've recently tried using the "import from camera" feature in iMovie instead of copying the files from the SD card to my computer, but I could not get iMovie to see a camera other than the built in iSight. Is there a possibility this "import from camera" might be the best solution and I just haven't got it yet?
I feel like I'm forgetting some important information because I'm kind of flustered so don't hesitate to ask. I'd appreciate any guidance.

The format iMovie uses when you edit video after it's imported is Apple Intermediate Codec, it will have the file ending .mov but internally it's set so the Mac can edit individual frames easier and play them back easier at full speed. If you have the option of saving to QuickTime .mov see if there is a pulldown list of all the different "codecs", that's the style or flavor of compression applied to the video frames. If Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) appears on that pull-down list choose that as your codec when you save to .mov.

Using .MTS Files

after reading through some of the posts in this discussion room, i'm thinking i may have screwed something up. i was just copying over all the .MTS files to retain "original" copies of my video files. i'm now realizing i need the entire directory/folder and not just the .MTS files.
have i totally "lost" these videos now or what can i do to change them into a viewable format?

it's taken me some time, but i've finally downloaded clipwrap per your suggestion and converted one of my video clips just to test it out. i'm getting some "banding" when i view the converted video clip. any suggestions? fyi - i used only the test clipwrap because i wanted to check it out before paying the money for the full version. will i have settings available to me in the full version that will help get rid of this "banding?" thoughts?? Streaming 2 x H264 live videos using smil file?

I want to be able to stream a live video using Flash Media Live Encoder 3 using two options of 300 kbps and 150 kbps.
I want to give users a choice of stream quality depending on their available bandwidth to maintain the live feed.
I have set it up so that the Bit Rates are 300 and 150 and tick marks on: 1 and 2
my FMS URL is correct
The stream names are test1 and test2
in the Stream: box I have written: test1;test2
Yet I have also tried : mp4:test1.f4v;mp4:test2.f4v and other combinations.....
The SMIL file has the following:

It does not work, I have tested this with prerecorded videos and it works fine, so I thought it should work with 2 live streams also.
I believe one of the issues might be the Stream: test1;test2
in Flash Media Live Encoder 3?
Second related questions:
Also using Dreamweaver CS5 what is the correct setting to stream an FLV with h264?
I also tried mp4:test1.f4v in the stream name but it comes back with anerror that the name is wrong.
any solutions to what I am doing wrong would be appreciated

With respect to the second query I had, I do understand that FLV does not support H264, I just used the term FLV to mention it was a flash video I was refering to rather tahn the codec used.
The first part, I did actually try that option previously, but it still returned an error of "Cannot Connect".
I used the code generated by the FMS dynamic video page to create the video object.
I simply changed it in Dreamweaver to: ( Bold text are my edits to the original. ) The original generated vod instead of live.

How can I play 1080p MTS file without conversion?

I wasn't yet able to find a decent player capable to play 1080p MTS files smoothly? I acquired the snapshots using a Sony DSC-HXV9 and I don't want to convert them. Any suggestions?

This MTS files can't be direcly played by media player. You can find yourself a converter app. But since you don't want to convert your videos I recommend you VLC player, it may help you .But the quality may not very good. for some free converter app: Handbrake, MPEG Streamclip, freevideomaker.

Where Dir is creating while using LKM -- File To Oracle(sqlldr) ?

But I am getting error -- at the time of creating DIR
Error :-- Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
Code :-- create or replace directory dat_dir AS 'TEST_FILE'
I have requested DBA to give permission for this user to create Dir.
But he is asking which Directory he should give permission to create directory.
-- Kindly provide a directory on the server. I will create an Oracle Directory object on it and give read and write privilege to "XYZ" schema.

I looked into the KM steps and seems like the file is created in the same directory as your source file.
Agent log can be found under <server>/logs/oracledi for jee agent or under oracledi/log for standalone agent. For more info please check Troubleshooting Oracle Data Integrator - 11g Release 5 (11.1.5)

Unzip using Payloadzipbean/file content conversion

Experts,
I have a scnario, I get a zip file with .gz extension, unzip it read th file using file adapter.
I am using Payloadzipbean module to unzip(zip.mode = unzip).
The problem is File adapter converting the zip file into xml and unzipping the file.
How do I force File adapter to unzip first and do content conversion.

Creating video from DVD files?

Someone sent me a DVD of some video he shot for a show that I was in. Is there a way to convert the files from the DVD to a video file that I can edit and post on Facebook?

If for whatever reason you do not like the other programs that have been suggested, another option is MPEG Streamclip. You can Google that and download it, but you may need to then buy (for $20) MPEG-2 on the Apple site to do what you have planned. I have used it for the almost the same purposes you have. I have uploaded over 70 videos to YouTube, some almost 10 minutes long. I use MPEG Streamclip to process the video, Export it to Quicktime, Import it into iMovie, and Share it to YouTube.
If you go that route, you can search and find other posts, including ones from me, that provide detailed settings to make for that.

Creating Pages using jar file

When I wrap up my JAR file (contains JSPs and classes) and use the portal interface to upload to a JAR file and point to the main JSP page - when I run it, it cannot find the class files that should be wrapped inside the JAR file. I can't find ANY documentation on how to do this, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

From the PDK article Java Server Pages Support In Oracle9iAS Portal, located on Portal Center:
In the current version of Portal, the support for JAR files is limited to the JAR files that have a set or combination of JSP pages, HTML files, and image files. No class files placed in a JAR file will be recognized by the container. As a workaround, you can put your class files in the /WEB-INF/classes directory.

Create similar kind of joins which you make after importing physical tables from db.
There is no difference in making joins in the excel. (both physical and BMM layers).
But always remember there are many limitations for having excel as database.

Advice on creating video using AppleScript

Hello all,
I am developing a short film project that uses Morse Code. What I am trying to do is to input text into AppleScript and produce frames within Final Cut Pro.
Has anyone had any experience with anything similar?

Core Animation is a Leopard only feature, so it isn't available yet.
I brought up Quartz, because I've done some Cocoa programming (in Objective-C) and know that it makes drawing bezier paths pretty easy. Then it would be a matter of just encoding it as a image file, and saving it out. Like I said, I'm not sure how (or if) you can use Applescript to do the same.
If you don't have much programming experience, it could be a (very) overwhelming process. So if you're comfortable with Applescript, might want to stick with automating a drawing app.
