PE7 Color Replace doesn't work.
In PE7 I have scanned in a line drawing of a lily in black and white. I want to change the black to a green - 666600. I did Enhance - Color Replacement- tried different select tools, chosen eyedropper and selected all black lines, changed the replacement color to 666600, and clicked OK. It is still black and white. I have tried making a duplicate layer and doing the same thing, and still black line drawing. What am I doing wrong? I've referenced 4 books and they all say the same. Is mine not working? I can use the select tool and 3Pt brush and do it that way, but it isn't accurate and could take forever.

Color Replacement does not work
I'm tyring to work through the tutorials. I've done the color replacement instructions over and over again just as the instructions seem to say which isn't very good, and nothing happens. Can anyone give a step by step instruction that works. The ones in the iPad tutorial for the MAC version is not working. I am working with version 14.XX on a Macbook Pro totally up to date.

PE7 Color Replacement Tool: Sampling method is missing in the toolbar
Sample Once or Background Swatch options in Color Replaceent Tool toolbar are missing. In fact I cannot find anything about these options in any other places (menus etc.) except the help file. I am using the tryout version of version 7.0? Is this a bug or is tryout version not a full version?

After installing: pages in inverted colors | numbers doesn't work
I've installed iWorks 08 on my MacBook Pro 2.8GHz but it doesn't work properly. The colours are wrongly presented. A kind of inverted.
I cannot work with these settings. If you prit it comes out ok.
But while working everything is white, white, white...
Does anyone know this error?

MartinWhen did you install Pages08? Recently? You have to update iWork08 to latest version. Pages is in version 3.0.3. Use the Software Update check or for Pages this link [http://support.apple.com/kb/DL808]
Which version of Snow Leopard do you have? You state 10.6. The other day version 10.6.4 was released. Download the Combo version from here [http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048] -
Color Range doesn't work correctly with latest update
as the title suggests, I'm having difficulty using the color range tool properly. It worked perfect just before the most recent update (13.1) and now works very strangely.
It seems to select whatever color it feels like except the one I need. And then it is very very selective if it will even select anything at all. I'm not sure how else to explain this so it is clearer and easier to be understood. I will post the System Info from Photoshop below.

Installed TWAIN devices: NONEPossibly you are missing something in the way you apply this command. Here's how I use it to select patchy clouds with ragged edges and continuously varying shades of gray:
Select the eyedropper tool on the Toolbar and on the options bar set the sample size to 3x3.
Activate the Color Range command. Activate the "selection" radio button and choose "none" in the selection preview. In the "select" box, choose "sampled colors".
Set a trial fuzziness of,say,50. Click with the eyedropper on a point in the midst of the color you want to select. That's your "base" color.
Then switch to the "Color Added" (plus) eyedropper, holding the left mouse button down while dragging it over areas deviating from the base color but which you want included.
If there are non-contiguous areas with still different colors you also want to include, release the mouse and move the cursor to those areas before dragging again.
All the while, keep an eye on the dialog box display which shows what you've selected, albeit crudely. If you pick up unwanted colors, switch to the "subtract from sample" (minus) eyedropper and drag it over those areas.
When you think you've got it about right, experiment with the fuzziness slider to see if you can improve things by increasing or decreasing fuzziness.
Don't re-use the plain eyedropper unless you want to start all over again. Optionally, instead of switching among the 3 eyedroppers, you can activate only the plain eyedropper but use it with SHIFT to add or ALT to subtract. -
Thumbnail page replacing doesn't work in 9
Older versions of Acrobat allow you to drag one thumbnail from one document and place it over another page in another document. I have tried this in 9 and all that it will do is insert the page or pages before or after but not replace the pages. The help says that it should. Has anyone else seen this?

Printing in black only with depleted COLOR cartrages doesn't work.
I just downloaded a missing W2 and NEED to print it like yesterday. My yellow and megenta cartrages are empty. But the document is black and white but NONE of the ways of printing in black only work because HP uses my VERY expencive ink to do things OTHER then printing? Really??? Is that for real? Does HP really charge an arm and a leg for ink and then use it for purposes OTHER then putting said ink on paper?
I have the exact same issue. The instructions state specifically that it will print with a depleted cartridge in grayscale but nothing works. I had to order one online. What is infuriating is that I rarely print in color. If I knew this would be an issue I never would have bought this printer.

I'm using PSE8 on a PC with Windows7 and something seems to be wrong with my color picker in the Editor. I click on the Foreground icon (lower left of the screen), choose a color, click OK, and it doesn't change the color on the icon. The default colors seem to be only black, white or gray. I am in RGB color mode (under Image) and I have clicked Convert Color Profile to "Convert to Adobe RGB Profile" which is now grayed out. Under Edit>Preferences>General, I have selected Adobe as the Color Picker. Can anyone figure out why I am not getting the color I select for the Foreground color? Thanks for any suggestions at all!
Does your image have an adjustment layer or a layer mask
on the layer that is active when using the color picker?
If you have an adjustment layer, make another layer active
and see what happens.
If the layer that is active has a layer mask, click on image
thumbnail to the left of the layer mask and try the color
picker.

Color Range doesn't work properly in CS3
Hi there,
I have a problem with CS3. Since a few weeks I can't use properly "Colour Range" feature.
Especially for bright colour the Colour Range doesn't select what I want to select. For example I want to select a bright cloud and can't select it with Colour Range. Of course I checked if there is any information or I have a burn area.
I use several different setting but I still have the problem.
I used 8/16 bit, Adobe RGB/sRGB
At Colour Range I use:
- Sampled colours
- Selection
- Fuzziness: how much I need it
- Selection preview: None

Quck Find/Replace doesn't work with Oracle Db Proj (ODT 11.1.0.5.10 beta)
There seems to be a bug with the Oracle Database Project that prevents Quick Find and Quick Replace from working. To recreate, just open the new Oracle Database Project, open a sql script, ctrl-F, search for a text string. The text will not be found.
I guess the work around (not so ideal) is to use Find in Files (shift/ctrl-F) and Replace in Files (shift/ctrl-H).

Lightroom 2.7 color picker doesn't work
I have the new Lion OSX. I have Lightroom 2.7. I am having issues with the colour picker. It will not leave the colour palette and let me select from the image. I have tried holding down my mouse key, but it won't leave the palette. This is SOOOO frustrating! HELP ME!! LOL. This is in the adjustment brush... Thanks in advance!
It's supposed to work like this: with the mouse cursor in the palette, hold down the mouse key and drag into the image.
If you're doing that (and it sounds like you are), you may have hit upon a place where Lion and LR 2.7 aren't playing well together.
You can download the 3.6 trial and see if your problem goes away. Adobe aren't likely to fix anything in 2.x.

The color pallet doesn't work as follows.
Question:
Suddenly occurred the following phenomena, using PSE-9 on the Windows-7.
After setting a white canvas at the beginning, any drawing colors can't be choiced but done with grey colors in different lightness according to color's lightness.
However, without canvas, they can be selected as usual. So that I can't use my PSE any more and there might be found more faults on the going on through in use.
I tried to have it uninstalled, and installed newly by Adove's disk, and re-powered again but nothing has improved.
I am stuck in the trouble.

I'm assuming that you are creating a new document - do you ensure that the colour mode is set to RGB Color?
If that isn't the problem, you could try resetting your preferences. Hold down Ctrl, Shift and Alt keys an then launch the editor. It should ask if you want to reste the preferences - you do.

Also, if a movie with a TextArea component is under a mask
the text isn't seen. What can I do about it? But this is a less

Don't know why it didn't work for the old one. Maybe I've mistaken
something...somewhere... who knows... Anyway, I don't need the text
white anymore, because I redesigned everything and I think it looks
better now, so it's not a problem.
Can you advize me something on the mask issue? It's not so
important but I'm curious. It could turn to be a problem if you
have a fullscreen flash movie and have content out of the stage.
