PE7 crashes at start when loading CompilerAIFF.prm
Hi there,
my Premiere Elements 7 crashes when i try to start it. After 2-3 Seconds it says "Loading CompilerAIFF.prm" and then it crashes. I tried to find a soluton via search etc. Can you help me pls?
First, ensure that you have the latest version of Quicktime, an important element in Premiere Elements' function. In fact, ensure that all of your drivers and firmware are updated.

Color Crashing on Open when loading media
This is my first Color experience and I must say it has been painful. I tried to do the send to color function and crashed. I did however do the XML export and it worked yesterday. Then I started Grading . Things were kind of a pain but workable. at the end of the day I saved and left the system running because I am worried that the system would crash. I told my Assist not to touch the system at night because I am supposed to wrap today. I can In this morning and the system is down and had crashed. I re booted and went to start the project. the system loaded the project and then crashed to the Desktop. I restarted again and the same thing???? What the @#$% I am not sure what to do???? is there any trouble shooting that can be done. Trow away some file or something. There is not even a message. Go figure????? Please help I am doing this project pro bono.
Without an explicit SAVE, COLOR won't remember the rendered material, so those clips won't have any status, even when you get the project running again. However, they may come back if you can get an export XML to work from the COLOR project, without doing a re-render... hey it worked for me last week.
What else is running in the background? If its still resident, Final Cut will sometimes crash the program if it is set to autorender its active timeline after a certain period. ScreenSavers can interrupt.... what else?
You've restarted the system, I would bet. But do a full shut down, rather than a warm reboot. That would certainly be the case with SHAKE after it has consumed all remaining resources with a couple of Flipbooks and slowed the system to a standstill. Hard boot, or the problem won't go away.
Then try reopening the project a variety of ways. From COLOR, from the exported XML if you can find it, and you may have a fresh project with that option... in that case, maybe an Import COLOR CORRECTIONS will give you your grades back.
There may be other ways of trying to recover portions of the project by explicitly opening the saved colorproj with a Right-click "Show Package Contents"... then you can start trying to transplant parts of the project to stitch together a new prometheus (the original Mary Shelley title of a short novel she wrote about the creations of a certain Dr. Victor Frankenstein -- that's FRONK... en..shteen....)

How do I stop Firefox looping from crash to start when it won't stay up long enough to enter into?
Ever since the latest update Firefox hasn't worked properly. It has the MyPoints latest toolbar attached to it and allowed me to view it then suddenly vanished. After that it started this open/crash loop that is so fast I can't click into the browser to try safe mode or to even access the toolbar. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. Everything got worse and the MyPoints toolbar suddenly reappeared. A lot of extraneous programs were downloaded without my permission and it's taken days to uninstall all of those. I'm on a refurbished Windows 7 HP and just finished ALL the newest Windows updates. Tried Firefox again, same problem. Unless I can actually access Firefox (the mouse is supper sluggish when trying to click in the Firefox browser as if the browser is preventing access) I can't do any of the "fixes" suggested in your support forum. I have uninstalled and re-install Firefox about 4 times now but nothing changes. Yes, I deleted the Mozilla file in "programs". I can't do a screen shot because of the inability to access the window in the time allowed before it crashes and there is nothing to see but the opening window - no error messages. No crash report comes up. Just an endless loop of open/close/open/close etc.
Are you sure you didn't get an unofficial installer? You may need to visit the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help surface innocent sounding bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.

The Page File is MS Windows' "virtual memory." It gets activity, when physical RAM is not available. Especially with video editing, this happens a lot. It can be set via Control>Panel>System. Windows can either dynamically create and size the file, as is necessary, or it can be set to provide the necessary size statically - always the same, and is *usually* set to ~ 2.5x the physical RAM.
With one physical HDD, that is partitioned, you have about 4-5 operations going on at the same time, and your I/O system is basically telling the heads of your HDD to be in different places/platters at this same time. Unfortunately, this is impossible, and one gets system hangs, sluggish performance, crashes or worse.
There are several good threads on suggested HDD setups for NLE work on this forum. I'd step back a level, so you get all Premiere forums, and search for some of these articles. There are a lot of worthwhile suggestions for number, type, connection and configuration of HDD's.

Photoshop crash on windows when loading document before extension is initialized
Hi, I came across wierd problem in Photoshop. I have an action script extension switched on and when I start Photoshop and choose to open a recent file before extension is completly initialized, Photoshop crashes. It doesn't happen on Mac.
Have you ever seen such behaviour and possibly have an idea how to fix it?
LukyYep, it's my panel from Window -> Extensions. Unfortunatelly I can't send you sample.
But what's happening: when I start Photoshop and panel is active so before onCreationComplete is called I try to open a file from recent list. And then Photoshop crashes (and wants to call home with report)
If I wait till onCreationComplete is completed everything works fine -
Crash to desktop when loading embedded swf
I have a swf that loads two other embedded swfs. The need for an air native extension came up so I've wrapped this swf inside of an AIR app. I install my app as a native installer. (on Windows 7)
My app has a main menu screen and two buttons that will load two separate swfs to do their own menus and actions.
Everything has worked great, until I tried to install the AIR app on a computer without internet. I ran the air redistributable, then installed my app. The main menu runs fine, and the main swf can load one of the embedded swfs, but when it tries to load the second embedded swf it crashes to desktop. No warnings, no errors, I just see desktop after clicking a button.
Here is how I'm loading the offending swf:

I load the other swf in the exact same way.
This problem can be fixed by connecting the computer to internet and trying to run the same actions. The program will pause for a second, during this time I see a visible loading icon in the middle of the screen, then it successfully loads the swf and everything works fine.
My problem is that I can't guarantee our clients will have internet at all, so I need a solution to install AIR without internet and include whatever it is that my app needs to run.
Any ideas? 'Cause this one's had me stumped for quite awhile.Does this happen whith every subVI or just on particular one? Also, what version of LV and OS?

Quicktime update 7.15 crashes all browsers when loading streaming players
Right after I've installed the update, all browsers (Firefox, Safari, Omniweb) will crash when trying to load a page with streaming content. I've tried unchecking all streaming content from the MIME settings in Quicktime preferences but to no avail. Anyone else having similar issues? Any fixes? How can I uninstall 7.15?

Adobe Media Encoder CS5 freezing on startup when loading ImporterQuickTime.prm
Hi everybody,
As the title suggests everytime I try run media encoder cs5 it freezes at the same point whilst trying to load the importerquicktime.prm file. I have tried googling around for a solution and have found a few people having the same problem but nobody seems to have found a fix.
Does anybody know why it would freeze at this point, and how i could fix the issue?

I tried the suggestions in the link you provided by allowing adobe qt32 server.exe and dynamiclinkmanager.exe in and out connections. I even tried disabling the firewall temporarily altogether but it didnt help.
I dont have afterfx.exe or pproheadless.exe (I have the design Premium CS5 suite, so no after effects or premiere for me unfortunately)
Could it be something else causing the problem?

PPro CS5 Runtime Error when loading exporteravi.prm
So while working on my other problems, I experienced a runtime error while opening PPro. I did some research, and saw that it might be a conflict with Quicktime, which I promptly uninstalled. I was testing a clip with my new settings (thanks to Colin Brougham ) after that, I experienced the same thing. I had to reboot in order to start the program again. Any idea what I need to do. This is a fresh install of Windows 7 (freshly installed not 6 hours ago), so its not a matter of junk programs. Help?
As it turns out, the file I was exporting had some issues at a certain point in the footage (too much audio at one time due to an operator error), and it was causing the crash, and that crash was causing the runtime error. I started using the queue function for the exporter, and it failed at the same time, but did not crash. I went back in to investigate the file at that point and just playing it in the timeline premiere crashed.
So long story short - it wasn't as big an issue as I thought, since its all related to that one clip. -
Itunes 8.0.2.20 on XP crashes after start when the aTV sync started
Hi all.
I have updated my itunes to version 8.0.2.20. itunes started normaly until the apple TV sync is began. After this itunes crashed and will closed from the system.
Any hints & tricks?I am also getting this [exact] error on XP. Started in the past week and the only thing I know that changed was an update to my iPhone last weekend.
Tried all the un-install / re-install steps. Reset the iPhone to factory settings.
The iPhone will sync Contacts AND Pictures but as soon as it tries to sync anything else iTunes crashes.
I have not found a work around. However, if I sync the iPhone on another computer it works so there must be something wrong with iTunes not the iPhone.
It appears to have also affected AppleTV. I can no longer see our AppleTV in iTunes. -
FCE crashing on startup when loading audio filters
I get a message that it might have to do with the third party Line-6 Gearbox filter.
How can I remove that so FCE can load?
When I look in Library/Preferences/Final Cut Express User Data/Plugins the folder is empty.
I tried to delete the Gearbox program but no improvement.

Crash at start when opening bookmark: bookmark menu covers prompt for general password
Firefox asks for a general password using a drop-down window when opening a page with a log-on section, presumably for an autofill. (It's annoying and I wish I could get rid of it, but that's another story.) My home page has a log-on section, so the prompt appears. But, when I try to choose a bookmarked page, and if the prompt appears while I'm doing it, the bookmark menu covers the prompt. Nothing I do dispels the bookmark menu, whether clicking away from the menu, choosing the menu item, or even just typing the password. I have to restart, sometimes requiring 'force quit' from the Activity Monitor. I automatically clear my history when I quit. Seems obscure enought that it might be a bug...
Bingo. Command-. makes the prompt go away, releasing the bookmark menu so that it returns to its rightful place. ESC, Enter or Space don't work.

Crash after ViewDidLoad when loading CollectionView content
Here is the error message I get. After ViewDidLoad for the ViewController class that has the collection view in it. I set breakpoints all over and it seems to happen after ViewDidLoad and does not reach any other methods.

Hi guys, hope someone can help. Logic pro x keeps crashing but only when loading up certain projects. It's getting pretty annoying. I've tried to update everything that i can think of to it's newest update. I bought the macbook pro 15" retina 2.3 a couple of months ago. I run quite alot of different plugins. I have no idea about crash logs but i can put one up in another post if that helps?
Any ideas would be apprreciated!!!

My crash problem has been going on for week, now. I tried uninstalling FF and reinstalling it. I hoped that would fix the problem, but it didn't. Crashes occur randomly, when loading or reloading pages but they are NOT specific pages. The Report ID listed below is just 1 of several reports from the past week.
I am unwilling to attempt navigation away from these sites. The pop-ups that occur on the attempt to leave a site or to close the browser are exit traps offering incentive to stay.
Once upon a time, when the internet was less dangerous, I would be willing to close the exit pop-ups. Now, after twice being infected with malware trying to close the pop-ups, I now force close whichever browser I am using.
Recently, I clicked on the red X to close one pop-up, and it installed a trojan that I had to pay to be removed. When I clicked on 'Leave' in another exit pop, it didn't exit and it turned out I was giving permission to run a script file. Now that criminals have learned these exit pop-ups can be used to force a click action, the sites using them have become dangerous.
If I force the browser to close using Task manager, Please tell me how to stop FireFox from sending me directly back to the same site because it mistakenly believes it crashed when it did not. I forced it to close because I was on a site that had taken control of my browser and was not allowing me to leave the site.
No other browser sends me back to the potentially dangerous sites. I prefer Firefox, but the new version must have a setting that allows me to get safely away from a problem site?
