PE7 problems on Windows Vista with custom DPI
I "upgraded" from PE4 to PE7 from a purchased download of the combo package containing both Premiere and Photoshop Elements 7. My old versions were Photoshop Elements 6 and Premier Elements 4 which worked fine on my Windows Vista Home Premium running on a quad-core Pentium with 3GB ram. The new Photoshop Elements 7 seems to work just fine. However, I am encountering numerous issues with PE7:
1. Frequent crashes due to running out of memory when trying to create a 5 minute movie from several small clips (original clips are .avi files totaling about 500MB). Sometimes I get warning that Premiere is dangerously low on memory, and I can save and restart. Sometimes crashes with no warning.
2. After several restarts, I was able to create the 5min combined video in mp4 format (iPhone 640x480), but the video does not play correctly (erratic skips, flashes, audio out of sync, etc., and generally just unviewable). I repeated this entire process with my old Premiere Elements 4 and had no problems - no crashes, created video much faster than PE7 and resulting video plays just fine.
After much frustration, I found in the "fine" print of the system requirements for PE7 that it requires a "1,024x768 monitor resolution at 96dpi or less". I'm running on a 1900x1200 monitor using custom scaling of 144dpi. Is the high DPI scaling the cause of the problems described above? (seems unlikely since PE4 works just fine but "upgrade" don't always work "better"). Anyone else have similar problems (with or without high dpi scaling).

I would not think that the scaling would be an issue, as it would affect the display of the GUI and maybe playback (though I would assume less so).
Now, for your Low Memory warnings, take a look at this ARTICLE on setting up your computer for NLE work. There is also a FAQ Article to see, as well.
My guess would be that PrE 7 just requires a bit more in the way of resources, than your PrE 4 did. You are probably marginal with PrE 4, and PrE 7 pushes you over the edge.

I am using Windows Vista with Outlook 2007 and iCloud. Everything has been great until this morning. I'm suddenly getting the message "Set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened. I tried running the repair utlity to repair the iCloud however I am still getting this error message.
I tried rebooting. It didn't change anything.

If your MBP has a display device that is an AMD Radeon 6XXX model, then you may be suffering from a known issue with Thunderbolt displays discussed here 10.9.4 - Thunderbolt display for 6630M (Mini mid-2011) still broken and elsewhere.
You can see the device by choosing About this Mac, then clicking on the "More Info...." button. -

You must authorize the second computer with the same Adobe ID.
There are sometimes issues with this registration: if you have them ....
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID. -

I downloaded the iCloud app to my PC (Windows Vista with Service Pack 2). But when I try to launch the app from the start menu, I'm getting an error message that says "Unable to launch due to side-by-side configuration". What do I need to do?
Sounds like a Windows issue. Google the error message. There are several discussions on the Microsoft forums listed that may help.

Thanks for your reply. I will not buy any type of Windows Vista for this purpose. I will buy a desktop PC with Windows XP Professional (32-bit) and with 500 GB. The Oracle Installation Guide recommends about 233 GB (dosk space) for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database. Do you think 500GB is more than enough for the initial install? Does it matter which processor I buy (AMD or Intel)? Do have any recommendation as to what processor should I buy (E series or Q series for Intel processor)?

u may get this error probably due to hard disk (usually sata) compatility with linux.

Stuck on Windows Vista with Lenovo G550?
Hi, I am experiencing a problem which is making me get really mad at Lenovo Customer Service and Microsoft at the same time. I am using a G550 with 1.8GHz Celeron CPU and 2GB DDR RAM with 250GB HDD and G4500 Graphics
Here my Problem:
I was quite happy when buying my laptop, and couldnt wait to install Windows 7 on it. As I did so, I figured out very soon that there are major issues with Windows 7 on my laptop, and I was not able to run any of my software. Games wouldnt run, the programs would crash and I felt fooled in a way. That was why I then thought of XP, which was a very simple OS, but at least would run all of my software on this Notebook that I had just bought. So I installed XP and I could not find all the drivers I needed, I was not able to run my WIreless LAN-Network and in total XP is a 9 year old piece of software, which has many security issues, and wont be suiting a new Laptop in this price category. I mean I spent some 500 dollars on this notebook, and then I end up running XP on it? No thanks!
So I moved to Vista, which was my last hope, and which would at least run my applications, not crash and updatable. And at least I could really use the ease of this notebook on Vista. But one thing that really makes me crazily mad is, that I happen to have the worst performance with Windows Vista. I run SP2, the start procress needs like 40seconds without logon. Another additional 20 seconds for loading all the autostart programs (which are just CA Anti Virus and the usual system stuff). Do I have to be stuck on Windows Vista forever? I am experiencing so many problems with this operating system, but somehow its just more convenient than old dusty XP and new crashy windows7. Is it really this bad, that after spending hundreds of dollars on a new laptop I have to stick ot vista, in order to stay up to date and use my old programs which windows 7 just wont run?
I think its bit of an Ironie that Microsoft does not solve their incompatibility issues with lenovo laptops, and that Lenovo does not care about the problems their customers experience.
I was very well surprised when I bought this notebook until I realized the problems like:
Disk turning on and off al the time
Incompatibility with Win7
Driver problems on old OS like XP
I think lenovo really ows us a statement, and Microsoft should really tell us what we are going to purchase before we buy it. Money doesnt grow on trees and I am not willing to spend a lot of money on OS and Notebooks that later wont run correctly.
Whats your opinion on this?

SSO problem on Windows Mobile with WAS Java 7.0 and R/3 4.7
We have a curious single sign-on problem with custom WM-app.
The application is developed using WD Java and currently runs on WAS 7.0 SPS10. WAS makes calls to several RFC:s on 4.7 Enterprise and authentication is done using SSO.
The enduser device is a handheld running Windows Mobile and the browser is a vendor (HHP) provided Mobile IE based HandHeldWeb. Because of the poor usability of the default login on handhelds we created a custom J2EE Web Application JSP which does the login to the WM-app.
On a PC browser everything functions normally, but occasionally with the mobile device no data from R/3 is displayed. As if SSO didn't work. Sometimes, if transaction 1 doesn't work and the user comes out of it, then runs transaction 2 which makes an RFC call and then returns to transaction 1 it works. Sometimes..
This problem does not occur on mobile device when the default login is used. And as stated previously, on a PC the custom login works fine.

So better you upgrade both the SRM and R/3.

It will work but in the long run you will get lot of Problem.Since SRM 7.0 is Based on Webdynpro technology

Java Swing application problem in Windows vista
When we execute the Swing application in windows vista environment.
The look and feel of the swing components are displayed improperly.
Do we need to put any specific look and feel for windows vista environment or any specific hardware configuration is required to setup windows vista environment.
Please give some inputs to solve the problem.
