PE9 get confused about displaying images

Been using PE9 for a few weeks and within the past couple of days it seems to get confused about which image should be displayed within the timeline. Have a medium size project with 30-40 jpg's in it and when shown in the timeline (or in the monitor window), PE9 replaces the image associated with a particular file with an image from another file. In the Project list you can get Properties and the path\file name shows up perfectly but PE9 uses the image from another file. Tried closing the project, and PE9 - no help. Tried re-booting Windows 7 (64 bit) - nop help. This seems to get worse as time goes on and I have not been able to find a solution.

My photo's are either 720 x 480 or 720 x 1080 depending on whether they are landscape or portrait.

  • Confused about importing images

    I'm new to DreamWeaver but I've used GoLive for many years and still do. In GoLive if I want to import a folder of images so as to have them to work with in my site I just select Import, navigate to the folder and click it and the folder of images is copied to the site and appears in the GoLive window.
    There is no way to do this in DreamWeaver that I can see. There is nothing I can find in the Help files or in the Missing Manual about importing images except one confusing entry in the Missing Manual. It says an image can be anywhere on your hard drive, but a couple paragraphs later it says images should be in the root folder of the site. I don't see any way to get them into the root folder other than doing so in the Finder which the documentation cautions against because DreamWeaver will become confused if this is done outside of DreamWeaver's Files window.
    This has been absolutely maddening for me and I've spent at least an hour trying to figure out how to simply import images. It shouldn't be this difficult? What am I missing?

    I believe my original question clearly stated that I wanted to import a _folder_ of images into DW and _not_ bring them in _one at a time_ as I use them. This qestion remains unanswered.
    No, you cannot IMPORT the images per se, there is no import function available.
    Nadia, first you say to bring files into DW via the Files window and caution against doing it another way. Then in your next reply you say you don't use the Files window and so in fact bring the images in another way via Windows Explorer.
    I appreciate you trying to be helpful, but I can't imagine being presented with more contradictory and confusing information.
    Can anybody tell me how to import a folder of images into DW?
    What I was trying to explain was that there are different ways to 'bring in' the images into the defined Dreamweaver site.
    1.  Copy them from anywhere on your hard-drive  into a specific images folder within the defined site.
    2.  Work with an image that may be saved elsewhere, but save it to a folder within the defined site.
    As for the confusion.  regarding working with files, you need to understand why you need to define a site in Dreamweaver first.  DW keeps track of all the links as you build a site, but the files - whether html, text or image files - need to be inside the defined site folder structure.  How you get them in there is completely up to you.  More than one way to skin a cat as they say.
    Define a site:

  • [CS3 JS] Getting information about Photoshop images in InDesign

    Hello,
    Through an InDesign script I can get many pieces of information about an image such as the file name, resolution in PPI, dimension in inches, color mode, etc.
    What I am wondering is if it is possible to find out how many layers a Photoshop image may have. I would like a quick way to know if an image has been flattened (one layer) without having to open up the image in Photoshop.
    Tom

    You can do this via BridgeTalk, here is an example. Select a TIF or PSD image and run the script.
    const gScriptName = "Get number of layers";
    const gScriptVersion = "1.0";

  • Finder gets confused about Audio CD's

    A few weeks ago I burned an iTunes playlist containing a single track to an audio CD. When the CD was burned and mounted, Finder showed the title of the volume as the title of the playlist ("untitled playlist"), and showed the contents of the CD to be a single AIFF file with the same title as the iTunes song ("I Can See Clearly Now.aiff"). So far so good.
    Now whenever I insert ANY Audio CD containing only one track, it shows up on the desktop as the CD I burned a few weeks ago. That is to say, any single-track Audio CD shows up on the Desktop as "untitled playlist," and the contents of that CD is always "I Can See Clearly Now.aiff." Of course the actual contents of that file are what they should be, not "I Can See Clearly Now." Not so helpful.
    Is there some database file out there that I can trash and make Finder stop thinking that every one-track Audio CD I insert is "untitled playlist"? Or is this an iTunes issue, perhaps?
    I'm using a Dual 2 GHz G5 tower with the latest version of 10.4.9. I should also mention that the optical drive involved in all this is a Plextor IDE DVD+-R/CD-RW housed in an external Firewire enclosure. Thanks for any help!
    Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    Mac OS X (10.4.9)
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Something else I should mention: what I've described above occurs for ANY Audio CD, including ones where the duration of the audio track is nowhere near the duration of the track on "untitled playlist."
    Also, the CORRECT info always shows up for each CD in iTunes. It's only the Finder that's getting confused. (And other apps like Disk Utility that I imagine are getting this kind of info from the Finder.)
    Thanks again.

  • About displaying images in web dynpro

    Hi experts,
    I hav a scenario..in which der's one table..whch has links for all images...and afta clickin on a lick..dat image will b displayed on side of it..
    Now..where from dis links wll b comin..hw r images strd in WDABAP...where from i can get da path for dis images...
    I hope u understood ma query...
    Please help me out...
    Thks and Regards,
    Runali.

    Hi Runali,
    If there are large number of images, then you need not upload all the images as MIME object in your component. You can create a context node with a context attribute of type string.
    Place an image UI element in the iview and bind its source property to that string attribute.
    Now when you click on the link in your table, populate that context attribute with the location of the image (url).
    In some of the organizations, images are stored in separate servers and there are webservices which talks to those servers. These webservices return the urls for the images. These urls can be used as above.

  • Question about displaying image with JLabel

    Hi
    I need to display an image. The image is determined by the user at run time, so the dimension of the image is unknown. Is it possible for JLabel to stretch the image so the whole image(instead of only part of it) will always fits into a certain dimension?
    thanks.

    For this you need to create a custom class that extends ImageIcon
    and define the methods there.
    see Java Tutorial for it.
    For eg., to scale an image , you can use
    JLabel label = new JLabel();
    Image img = new ImageIcon("Pics/Ash.jpg").getImage();
    int width = img.getWidth(null);
    int height = img.getHeight(null);
    //This would scale the Image by 200%
    Image bimg = image.getScaledInstance(width*2, height*2, Image.SCALE_SMOOTH);
    label.setIcon(new ImageIcon(bimg));
    //There is also another way
    //Use drawImage and use BufferedImage
    BufferedImage buff = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics g = buff.getGraphics();
    //Scale the Image to 200%
    g.drawImage(img, 0, 0, width*2, height*2,  null);
    lable.setIcon(new  ImageIcon(buff));Hope you get the idea!!

  • Can't get Safari to display images of cleared checks from bank

    When I view my bank transactions on-line, the occasional cleared paper check transaction I wish to see will not display in Safari when I click on it. A check image window appears, but no content. Not a problem in other browsers.

    Stephen, check with your bank to see why it doesn't display. The cancelled checks at my bank account show so it must be something your bank has set.

  • Cant get loadmovie to display image

    I have this for loop where I am circling through an array.  I have swf's for each of the numbers like dropTarget_1.swf, etc.  For whatever reason I can't seen to get this loaded into my holder.
    When I hard code it then it works. Any advice?
    for (n=1; n<=myDropDetails.length; n++) {
      rand = nums.splice(random(nums.length), 1)[0];
      trace(rand);
      this.createEmptyMovieClip("holder",n);
      this["dropTarget"+rand+".swf"],holder)
      loadMovie("dropTarget_"+rand+".swf", holder);
    holder._x=holder._x+30
      //holder.loadMovie("dropTarget_1.swf");

    There are too many things confused in your code to be sure what you are trying to tell it to do at times.  Here is a revised coding that may be what you are after.  Even if it isn't, it may be a better place to start to resolve things from.
    function shuffle(a:Array):Array {
    var len:Number = a.length-1;
    for (var ivar:Number = len; ivar>=0; ivar--) {
      var p:Number = Math.floor(Math.random()*(ivar+1));
      var t = a[ivar];
      a[ivar] = a[p];
      a[p] = t;
    return a;
    var nums = new Array(1,2,3);
    var xLoc = 0;
    nums = shuffle(nums); // randomize the nums array
    for (n=0; n<=nums.length-1; n++) {
          this.createEmptyMovieClip("holder"+n,this.getNextHighestDepth());
          loadMovie("dropTarget_"+nums[n]+".swf", this["holder"+n]);
          this["holder"+n]._x = xLoc;
          xLoc += 30;

  • How do I get firefox to display images clearly? I've got Windows 2000 Pro and Firefox 3.6.6. Internet Explorer shows images clearly, so I'm sure I have the correct graphics driver. Do I need a plugin or add-on of some sort? When I go to "updates", it

    When I use Firefox the images and logos don't show up clearly/correctly. I'm using Windows 2000 Pro. and just installed Firefox 3.6.6. I'm sure I have the right graphics driver as I'm able to see the images and logos clearly in Internet Explorer. I only have the "default plugin 1.0.0.15" installed. I'm thinking that I'm missing a plugin or add-on of some sort, but I'm not sure which one(s). When I go to "updates" it says there were no updates available. When I go to "Add-ons" it gives a list of Add-ons but I'm not sure which would help my issue. Any help would be appreciated.:)

  • Confused about Java Image Processing APIs

    I'm working on a Java application to which I'd like to add some advanced visual effects. Specifically, I'd like to make the application UI "dissolve" away when a specific selection is made. (See this link - http://www.anfyteam.com/anj/deform/deform.html - for an example of the effect I'm trying to emulate.)
    I believe I know how to create this effect, but my main question has to do with how to actually accomplish it in Java. It seems that there are many different technologies that do the same thing--Java 2D and JAI among them--and many types of classes--BufferedImage, ImageProducer/ImageConsumer, etc.--that all do the same sorts of things.
    Can someone help me with this question: what is the most modern technique for doing something like this that would offer the best performance?
    Thanks very much!
    Greg

    Hi Greg.
    BufferedImage is pretty much the cream of the crop as far as working with images goes.
    The Producer/Consumer model, as I understand it, is an artefact from when Java was more applet-centric, and allows applications to use images as they are loading, under the assumption that they will load slowly.
    See these articles for more information:

  • Size of a displayed image in memory

    Hello,
    I am interested in controlling the memory usage of an application. The application loads and displays images from files (mostly GIFs). I'd like to prevent an image from being displayed if it would occupy more memory than some preset limit. Is there a way of determining how much memory a displayed Image object would take before it is created and displayed?
    Thanks in advance,
    Misha

    True. But Gifs are for outdated weirdos ;o)
    It gets a bit complicated. Typically, screen memory will use 4-byte buffers. Non-'true'-color file formats often don't. You can store an image in various forms: typically either compatible with the file format or compatible with the screen. If you want to use an image for rendering then it should be in a screen-compatible form, otherwise rendering will be very slow. However, an image in a reduced bit depth does occupy less heap space. So if we're talking about "displayed images" then we should probably be reckoning on 32bpp images, for desktop use at least.
    One thing I'm not 100% sure about is whether Toolkit produces a file- or screen-compatible image by default. And I would assume that it would be perfectly possible to implement an ImageReader which always produced 32bpp images regardless of the file bpp.

  • Confused about transaction, checkpoint, normal recovery.

    After reading the documentation pdf, I start getting confused about it's description.
    Rephrased from the paragraph on the transaction pdf:
    "When database records are created, modified, or deleted, the modifications are represented in the BTree's leaf nodes. Beyond leaf node changes, database record modifications can also cause changes to other BTree nodes and structures"
    "if your writes are transaction-protected, then every time a transaction is committed the leaf nodes(and only leaf nodes) modified by that transaction are written to JE logfiles on disk."
    "Normal recovery, then is the process of recreating the entire BTree from the information available in the leaf nodes."
    According to the above description, I have following concerns:
    1. if I open a new environment and db, insert/modify/delete several million records, and without reopen the environment, then normal recovery is not run. That means, so far, the BTree is not complete? Will that affact the query efficiency? Or even worse, will that output incorrect results?
    2. if my above thinking is correct, then every time I finish commiting transactions, I need to let the checkpoint to run in order to recreate the whole BTree. If my above thinking is not correct, then, that means that, I don't need to care about anything, just call transaction.commit(), or db.sync(), and let je to care about all the details.(I hope this is true :>)
    michael.

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/TransactionGettingStarted/chkpoint.html
    Checkpoints are normally performed by the checkpointer background thread, which is always running. Like all background threads, it is managed using the je.properties file. Currently, the only checkpointer property that you may want to manage is je.checkpointer.bytesInterval. This property identifies how much JE's log files can grow before a checkpoint is run. Its value is specified in bytes. Decreasing this value causes the checkpointer thread to run checkpoints more frequently. This will improve the time that it takes to run recovery, but it also increases the system resources (notably, I/O) required by JE.

  • Confused about XPostFacto and the 8GB Limit - Please help

    Hi all,
    I've been running XPostFacto 4.0 on my Apple G3 Desktop (Rev C, 640MB Ram, 533 Mhz G4 OWC CPU upgrade) for sometime and is running great.
    But I have a question about the 8GB rule.
    This computer only runs off of a Seritek SATA card. There is a 35 GB Raptor drive on it, the first 7.81 GB is the 10.3.9 drive, and rest is for applications and files.
    I added a 160 GB Hitachi drive to the SATA card that I moved from my G4 MDD computer. It already has 3 partitions: 30 GB for 10.3.9, 10GB for OS9, and 115 GB for audio production files.
    If I wanted to boot off the Hitachi drive, would I have to re-format and create a 8 GB partition?
    As is, if I try to boot off the drive I just added, XPostFacto tries to synchronize the files, then it invariably crashes.
    I tried reading the manual again, but I get confused about the Mac OS X Installer and the 8GB rule, and so on.
    Thanks!

    i wound up erasing the partition on the transferred drive and carboncopycloning the beige's OS X drive to it...and now the transferred drive is booting ok!
    now, i'm thinking of copying the whole raptor drive over and re-partitioning the raptor drive (strangely, the raptor appears with about 9 partitions on Disk Utility, though the only two that i created are clickable...wonder if the OS sees this drive as something like scsi).
    this is a little asides the point, but on my MDD, the 7200 hitachi seemed to test as "faster" than the 10000rpm raptor in most categories. would the 7200 drive infact be better for OS style-tasks?

  • I am confused about Icloud. I have a 5 year old Macbook, a 2 year old macbook and a 5 year old mac mini. What exactly do I need to do to get all this connected via Icloud. I also have an Iphone 3G. Help please!

    I am confused about Icloud. I have a 5 year old Macbook, a 2 year old macbook and a 5 year old mac mini. What exactly do I need to do to get all this connected via Icloud. I also have an Iphone 3G. Help please! Also, I still don't understand exactly what the benefits are. At the moment it seems a lot of hassle to change a system that's been working perfectly well and that I'm very happy with. I'm not at all sure whether the mac mini (1.66 GHz INtel Core Duo) can be brought up to the relevant spec to run ICloud.  Any thoughts?

    There are two aspects to iCloud.  One is simply getting an account, or migrating a mobileme account to iCloud.  The second part is using the various features of iCloud to sync contacts, calendars, use music match or photo sharing, and store iWorks documents.
    First to get an iCloud account:
    If you have a mobileme account, you can migrate by simply logging onto www.icloud.com (ignore any references to Lion and just click through to complete the migration).  If you have OS X Lion or an iOS 5 mobile device, you can create an iCloud account on that device using any valid AppleID.
    Once you have an account, you can use JUST the mail account if you wishi - it is a standard IMAP account so you would set it up like any other IMAP email account you have, in whatever client program you use to read email.
    To use the OTHER feautes of iCloud, your computers will have to be running OS X Lion (10.7).  Your iPhone 3G will never be able to use iCloud as it cannot run iOS 5 (you need a min. of an iPhone 3GS to run iOS 5).
    The requirements for OS X Lion are here - http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html  You need a min. of a Core 2 duo processor so you mini is not capable of running Lion.
    So, in your case, the single reasons for iCloud would be if you have a mobileme account, then use the online www.icloud.com to migrate your account so you do not lose your @me.com email address.  You can use iCloud email (without using any other iCloud features) by setting it up as IMAP mail with these settings - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
    If you want an iCloud account and do NOT already have a mobileme account, you will need to upgrade one machine at least to Lion in order to be able to create an iCloud account.
