Peak files and audio conforming does not automatically happen unless I restart premiere

Am I the only one that this is happening to? Ever since I updated to version 8. Peak files and conforming doesn't happen unless I restart Premiere.
Here's also another question. If there is a preference for "automatic peak file generation" then how do I manually generate a peak file and force conforming?
obviously, yes automatically generate a peak file. OK not automatically doing it, let me do it manually without having to restart the whole program.

I am having the same issue. In addition to the peak files not automatically generating unless I restart Premiere, Not all of the Media Cache Files go into the custom directory I specify.

I have been on the phone with tech support for over an hour. Photoshop does not close files and the program does not quit. I am on a Mac and I am using Photoshop CC 2014.

Have you tried uninstalling Photoshop CC and re-installing? Another thing to try is to remove all Photoshop CC plist files. There is also the Cleaner tool:

  • Blinking file and question mark does not go away

My imac is constantly showing this blinking file with a questionmark when starting it. I tried all kinds of things to bring it back to life, like cmd + R, holding the shift button, c button and other stuff but none of them works. Could anyone plese help?

I take it you don't currently have backup to an external disk - Time Machine or a clone?
Here's some instructions for backing up, although you need a working Mac to be able to do it. Obviously, this shows how vital it is to always keep current backup so you have a recovery plan before disaster strikes:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1553
Hopefully you won't need to erase your data - repairing the disk, or simply re-installing the OS should not erase anything. Only an erase and install does that. You'll need backup if it turns out your hard disk is kaput (possible).
If the Mac currently has either 10.8 or 10.9 installed does booting using Command+r not do anything?
If it doesn't you can try putting the Leopard disk in the drive and booting holding Command + c - hopefully it'll boot and allow you to run Disk Utility to check/repair the disk - NOT to re-install the OS. If it does boot, at the first screen select your language and from the next screen, from the menu bar, select Utilities>Disk Utility. Select Macintosh HD>Repair Disk. If anything gets fixed click on repair disk again until you get a clean pass. Once done restart as normal from the Apple menu.
If all that comes to nothing I think it's off to the repair centre.

  • My husband downloaded a newer version of Firefox on my computer and now it does not automatically go online when opened. How do I remedy this?

I always click "work offline" when I exit anything that I do online. Firefox always opened in the online mode before, but since the newer version was downloaded I now have to manually put it online every time I open it. Even when I click a link in an email.

Found this item it may help
OK, I have fixed it here. Here's what I did:
    quit iTunes
    trashed ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
started iTunes, and authorised my account
Worked straight away after that !

I have reinstalled Reader (twice) and it does not automatically associate with PDF files.
How do I fix this problem?

The thing is, when I right click a pdf file, and then go to properties, change default program to open with, select browse, I select it in the correct folder, when I click open, it doesnt open and the programs stay blank, so I cant select anything. There is nothing to select. And I have re-installed. But at the end of the install there are no options what file types to associate with. Any way to do it inside Reader?
I have reader 9.2.0. and Win7 up to date. When I'm opening and closing allot of files the whole time, I don't want to do inside reader. Help please?

  • Why do my songs and audio books keep getting erased when I add a new book?  Now some books will not play and the iPod does not keep track of where I was when I pause a book, leave for music and then go back!

About a month ago I added some new audio books to my iPod Classic and then after disconnecting, I discovered EVERYTHING had been erased.
I had to restore through my iTunes but then I could not load my music back on.
I uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes and completely reformated the iPod drive.
I successfully got my music and books back on but then added a new book two days ago only to discover everything got erased AGAIN!!!
Of course, my 1 Year Warranty was up about a week before the first incident.....
I formatted the iPod again, uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes (it was freezing during sync) and downloaded all my music and books again.
Now I have several books that will not play (they play on iTunes and they played on the iPod before all these events) and the iPod does not keep track of where I was in a book when I have to stop and go to something else.
Does anyone know what is going on with this thing???  I have a 5th Gen Video and in all the years I've had it, I've NEVER had problems like this!
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get my iPod Classic up and running properly again?
    Thanks.

When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised  filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.
    Have a nice day!

  • I had to reinstall itunes and now when I plug in my ipod itunes does not automatically come up so I can log in, how do I fix this?

I had to reinstall itunes and now when I plug in my ipod itunes does not automatically open to my library or where I can access the itunes store.  What do I do now?

Open iTunes and connect your iPod. Select your iPod in iTunes from the Source list. (I'm assuming this still works, although you didn't indicate if it did or didn't.) Make sure the box is checked to Open iTunes when this device is connected. You should be all set!

How to fix file when it says, "Cannot open file " ". Adobe Indesign does not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file may be missing, or file may be open in another application." It worked one second, I saved and closed the file, then tried to reopen and now it won't work. I am using Adobe InDesign CS5. It is the only version on my comp. I have tried opening on another comp & copying the file – same error comes up. PLEASE HELP

First check the version of the document with Jongware's script "Identify.jsx" (ExtendScript/JavaScript).
    You can find it here:
    [Ann] Identify Your InDesign File
If it is CS 5.5 or above, you need someone to open it in the version the script says and export an IDML representation from that. Another way would be to install a 30days version of CS6 or above (CC) and do it yourself.
In regards of the script showing a result for InDesign files higher than CS6:
    CS7 = CC v9
    CS8 = CC v10 = CC-2014 or CC2014.1

google removed from bookmarks and when selecting safari it does not automatically open to bookmarks as previously did

When Safari launches, tap in the address field (the one on the left) and type "www.google.com" then hit the "Go" button.
After the page finishes loading, hit the "Action" button (the middle button on the bottom button bar that looks like an arrow coming out of a rectangle) and select "Add to Bookmarks" to add the Google page to your bookmarks.
After that, you can hit the Bookmarks button (the button that looks like an open book in the bottom button bar) to access the Google bookmark you just created.

    Hi shyanne23,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  If your iTunes library file has become damaged in some way, you may want to try recreating your iTunes library and playlists by following this article:
