Peak usage restrictions for infinity

This post is mainly relating to spotify which is a legal and paid for service. I was expecting some traffic shaping as it uses a P2P system for sending/receiving data. However, I wasn't expecting a near enough block on it's usage doing peak times.
Is there anything I can do to make this block more acceptable with BT? I agreed to reasonable traffic shaping, not a 99% drop in speed for p2p services.
Otherwise very happy with the service as download services for all other legal services I can use that don't use p2p work very well.

I use Spotify all the time without any problems at all.
Now I wonder if it's because I am on Infinity option 1? and if so that cannot be fair.
I pay less and get a better service!!!
If this is the reason then I think BT should do something about reinstating Spotify for "Unlimited" Infinity Option 2 customers to use at anytime.
In KerryG message it mentions Option 1 as not being traffic managed.

BT will remove the FUP controls currently applied to customers with ‘atypical’ usage. Today atypical users are restricted at 300GB usage and account for less than 0.5% of the BT customer base. BT will not target any individuals with restrictions based on usage levels.However, we still have traffic management policies that will restrict certain applications / protocols, such as P2P, when the network is busy.
As BT continues to invest in the network and network bandwidth we can now remove these restrictions and ensure the experience of the wider customer base.
(Note that charges will still apply for going over limits on BT Total Broadband Options 1&2 and BT Infinity Option 1 but traffic will not be managed.)

Usage restrictions for iPod touch / children protection

I'ld like to apply a timely usage restriction on my son's iPod touch in order not to have to control his usage all the time "manually" by myself... the implemented restriction mechanism is purely related to the specific programs (safari, app usage etc.), not on duration.
It seems that this is currently not possible, even an app programmer pointed me back to Apple, only they could implement that feature. How can I succeed in that respect, I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Restrictions for sdo_geor.mosaic

Hi All
i have a set of georeferenced images which are ready to be mosaiced , in the sense that there is no overlap or gap in between the images. Spatial Index is also created on the table . But still i get error when i do a sdo_geor.mosaic.
ORA-13419 cannot perform mosaick operation on the specified table column
All the images have the same resolution, same number of bands . is there any other restriction for the images to be mosaiced.

Ab,
The beta1 of the next release will be avaialbale in this fall. There is no officially fixed date for the next release yet. The new mosaic would be able to automatically handle this case as long as there is no overlapping. The mosaic object would be sort of sparse so that the missing image tiles would not consume any disk space.
Still, I think your project is doable using the 10g mosaic as long as the images meet the requirements outlined under the Usage Notes of SDO_GEOR.mosaic in chapter 4 of the GeoRaster manual.
To make sure you can move forward, one more question:
are those images rectified and projected into the same projection?
If so, you should be able to do the mosaic without problem.
I would recommend you divide and conquer, i.e., split the whole mosaic into several smaller mosaics (sub-areas, such as northeastern area, northwestern area, etc.) first, mosaick them separately, then mosaick these smaller mosaics into the big one as you desire.
Please note that, for the missing tiles, you will have to make-up them. But it's relatively easy:
1. call sdo_geor.createBlank with a single cell value such as zero and proper image dimentions sizes. (those blank georaster objects will not store the pixels in RDT and so will not consume space. For the definition of BLANK GeoRaster object please read chapter one of the GeoRaster manual)
2. georeference each of the blank objects properly so that they are aligned/co-located with your images correctly. (this is the place where you need much time and shall be very careful so that the blank images are georeferenced correctly and meet the requirements of sdo_geor.mosaic)
Simply for mosaic process, you have an alternative. you actually don't have to geo-spatially georeference each image by leveraging the ULT coordinate feature of GeoRaster. On other words, remove georeferencing info first, then call setULTCoordinate to reset all ULT coordinates of the images so that they are spatially properly located in the GeoRaster cell space. Then do mosaic. After mosaick, you re-georeference the mosaic image by calling sdo_geor.georeference.
Let us know if you have any problem. This project is very interesting and shall be doable.

Use of FOR ALL Entries
Outer join can be created using this addition to the where clause in a select statement. It speeds up the performance tremendously, but the cons of using this variation are listed below
Duplicates are automatically removed from the resulting data set. Hence care should be taken that the unique key of the detail line items should be given in the select statement.
If the table on which the For All Entries IN clause is based is empty, all rows are selected into the destination table. Hence it is advisable to check before-hand that the first table is not empty.
If the table on which the For All Entries IN clause is based is very large, the performance will go down instead of improving. Hence attempt should be made to keep the table size to a moderate level.

Using an openreach hub for infinity and using BT w...

Hi all I have to questions I have trying to find the answers for.
The first is whether it is possible to try to use a bt openreach hub instead of HH5 for infinity as currently the activation date for our internet service is quite a way away (we just moved house and found this hub here).
The second would be how to connect my xbox one to bt with fon, as the xbox lacks the feature to be able to login to FON/openzone and every time I try to share my connection (either by bridging or sharing) it doesn't work. I have already done this once before so I know that my hardware is functioning correctly, I dont understand why I keep getting the same DHCP error when I try though. Is this because openzone is actively blocking me from trying or is there something I'm missing? I have followed these exact steps and tried the solutions for troubleshooting, but it still doesnt help.

We need to track the usage of SSM by our users and report the number of logins.
I believe there is a trace file that is produced somewhere in SSM.
Can anyone suggest the best method to produce a 'Usage Report' based on a trace file or something simliar?

The direct answer for this question is to look into some web analytic tools. Basically, you tag each page with hyperlink markup language that the web analytic tools tracks.
A typical web analytic tool can show you which pages were visited (and which weren't), who came in to look and how long they stayed - usually for tracking outside users you are just getting IP addresses, but with tracking internal folks you will be able to set it up to track them. Also they include things like typical user paths - where did they land and then where did they go.
This is something you would work with using the analytic tool you selected. Web analytics is a whole discipline onto itself and so you shouldn't have any problems finding consultants to set up whatever software you want to use. My experience, from long ago, was that these are tools have many out of the box features that make it easy to set up.
Most web analytic tools are set up for customers/consumers/visitors and used by marketing or web designers. When you look at employees as your customers/visitors, there isn't a whole lot of difference in setting up a tool to track that kind of usage.
As I said before, I don't have any recommendation to provide about which tool would exactly meet your need, many come with a variety of options, plans, and pricing.

How do you know what the data usage was for and why? It shows you date and usage but not the reason.

How can you see what data usage was for on the bill? It only shows the date and usage but not the reason for the usage.

You can not see this info on VZW's site. There are apps for smartphones that will break down the info though, but by site or what was downloaded

I am generating a PDF from a Smartform using convert_otf.
What I would like to do is, add restrictions for the generated document just like in Acrobat Professional.
For example:
Printing: yes/no
saving: yes/no
cut, copy paste: yes/no
Is there a way to pass this Parameters to the PDF?

Standard restriction is possible for this T code based on document type,purchasing group,purchasing org and plant.
Others being ruled out I think solution is to restirct using purchasing group which is smaller entity.

Restriction for the use of last_record in 10g forms

Hi,
When I was working on Forms 6i with the query in the trigger When_new_form_instance:

It worked and gave correct data on frontend.
When the same was used in 10g forms, it gave incorrect data.When we removed last_record from the query, it worked.
Could somebody tell me is there some kind of restriction for the use of last_record in 10g forms? If yes, what kind of?

When I set Query All records to Yes.
Surprisingly it gives incorrect data.
This is what is bothering me.
As i said earlier i was using last_record for
navigation purpose to fetch all the records from the
database and then first_record to highlight the first
record.
You don't need to do that, that is poor programming logic. Instead change the block property Query All Records and set it to Yes.
This will fetch all the records from the database and the highlight will be on the first record;
