Pearl 9100 Pinyin input method.

I'm not sure if this has been asked.  I'm having the Pearl 9105, firmware  running 6.0.0.706(just upgraded and it is the same thing for previous version).
I've loaded the firmware, making sure that that BOTH "Simplified Chinese Pinyin" and "Traditional chinese" input is installed when loading it to the phone.
But some how, when I tried to change input method, the pinyin simply does not show up.  Reinstalled a couple of times and still the same,.
On the other hand, the pihua (stroke menthod) does show up.
This happens every where including "Option"->"Typing and Input"->"Language"->"Input Language"
Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Where is Pinyin Input Method?

I just got Blackberry 8700c free days ago.
right now i have some problems
the new rom os 4.5 for 8700 i can not find pinyin input method.
it make me crazy~~ i guess blackberry do not know pinyin input is so important for Chinese.
    any suggestion?

Try to download and install RIM OS from a chinese wireless carrier.
It is possible to install RIM OS from another carrier but for your device model.
Please note that it may void the warranty from your carrier.
    The way is simple.
    1. Backup your sensitive data from your device
    2. Download necessary OS package
    3. Install it on to your PC
    4. Remove Vendor.xml file from installed OS files.
    5. Connect your device to PC and run Blackberry Desktop Software to install
    6. After installation - restore your data back

  • Should Arch have a common input method ?

Should Arch have a common input method ?
Arch is a really great distro,so I think there are a lots of arch users all over the world.
And I believe that more and more people will know Arch, use Arch,Love to use Arch
But I am curious about that : everyone use english only? Just input English only?
For me I need a input method to input Chinese in gedit,gnome-terminal,openoffice and so on.
I guess some users( in particular for non-English users) also need it for their own language.
So I eager hope Arch will  official have common method support.
And SCIM is a good choice--Smart Common Input Method.
    Old Homepage    http://www.freedesktop.org/Software/scim
    New homepage  http://www.scim-im.org/
    And http://sourceforge.net/projects/scim/
SCIM is the defaults Chinene input moethod in SUSE Mandriva(formerly mandrake),and included in Fedoa's Repo.
Tt also is the defauls input moethod for CJK(Chinese/Korea/Japanese) users,SCIM  supports a large
number of input methods in a bunch of languages, and trying to enumerate all the input method
    engines and their corresponding languages.
scim- scim is the core package, which provides the fundamental routines and data types
skim - An input method based on SCIM library and KDE/QT.
          scim-{anthy,canna,prime,skk,wnn} -  IMEngines for Japanese
scim-chewing - IMEngine for  Tranditional Chinese
scim-pinyin- Currently contains a Smart Pinyin IMEngine for Simplified Chinese.
scim-fcitx - fcitx ported to scim for Chinese
scim-tables - Contains many table based input methods.
scim-uim - A wrapper to use uim as an IMEngine of SCIM.
scim-m17n - A wrapper to use m17n library as an IMEngine of SCIM.
          scim-qtimm - Qt-immodule support for scim.
scim-hangul - A Hangul !IMEngine which is ported from imhangul project.
scim-input-pad - scim-input-pad is an OnScreen input pad for SCIM used to input some symbols very easily

cactus wrote:@dibble: in fact, I would. Then i would set out to make the packages myself so I could use them, or try to form a group of like minded individuals to create a language specific port.
i don't want to start a massive fight about this cactus because you know I respect your views but i wonder how a group of people that require internationalization support can collaborate on a project without a common language?
We can already see that miracle is doing his best to get his point across with varying sucess, i can't imagine trying to achieve many harder things in the internet environment, never mind establishing a project.  Of course this is well within the users power but i really think that in this instance non-enlgish speaking users would greatly benefit from the support of experience Arch Users who have english as first langauge.
miracle - if the PKGs are in the AUR you need to contact other arch users, possibly on the other languages forums, and tell them to vote for the scim pkgs

  • ITABC input method for Chinese language

*Languages and Texts: Input Source: Chinese-Simplified: ITABC*
I recently upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard. On Tiger, I found the ITABC input method for Chinese-Simplified language the most useful. Since upgrading to Snow Leopard on my desktop (and also Snow Leopard on new MacBook Pro), the ITABC input method is absent from the Chinese-Simplified Input Sources tab.
Can anyone help me with why this? Can I somehow get the ITABC input back?
    Thank you for any assistance.
    Bones

Isn't the "Pinyin" on the list very similar to ITABC?
If you have problems with it, best to ask on the Chinese-Mac list.
    http://groups.google.com/group/chinesemac/
Many people now use QIM instead of the SCIM:

  • Pinyin input

    Hello everyone,
I'm having trouble finding a way to easily input pinyin (phonetic representation of Mandarin Chinese) with tones. I'm currently using the fcitx input switcher - I already have a korean and japanese input set up on this framework and so would like to stick with it if possible. I tried several of the Chinese IME that were mentioned on the wiki page - does anyone know of one that has an input method that lets you input pinyin with tones? Note that I'm not asking about inputting pinyin and turning it into characters - I'm trying to add vocabulary to an anki deck for Chinese (just started learning) and would like to input the pronunciation into a field on the card. Anyone have experience doing this?

Install fcitx-m17n, then from fcitx configuration menu, add 'Pinyin Symbol (M17N)' to the Input Method Tab. You will then be able to input pīnyīn.

  • Traditional Chinese input method

I would like to suggest more Chinese input methods should be added in the iPhone 3G.
FOr example, Traditional Chinese 'Jianyi' - 'Simplex', this is more convenient to use than 'pinyin'.
I hope that this will be covered in the new update.

how do you change to chinese input method?
See page 27-28 of the iphone user guide.

  • Pearl 9100 wont recharge

My Pearl 9100 battery ran completely flat. I tried recharging and got a battery sign with a red cross. I then persisted and now have the battery symbol with a yellow lightning bolt but still not charging. I have swapped for a new battery,  tried to charge for 12 hours but still noting. I have been trying the mentioned advice of removing the battery while on charge and replacing  (4 times) but still nothing.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if the BB won't even boot up, there's no simple way to do that. Rather, all that is left are the most drastic recovery methods:
KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
FYI -- hopefully you already have a good backup, because it's likely that your data is already gone from the device and there will be no chance to take a backup now with these drastic measures.
FYI 2 -- note that if the problem is the BB hardware itself, there's no amount of internet-distance diagnosis or remedies that can help. Only in-hand evaluation by a qualified technician can provide any help if it's the hardware. All we can do is deduce perhaps to that being the root cause...but that's not a replacement for an in-hand evaluation and diagnosis.
    Good luck!

  • Programmatically switch an input method on Mavericks

    Hello,
I'm having a problem creating a program that switches an input method to a specified one. I have been doing some research for a while and have found this answer on the support community, but it doesn't seem to work on Mavericks: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18719398. The indicator switches normally but it doesn't enable the IM (adding TISEnableInputMethod doesn't help). The IM gets enabled only when I switch out of the document and then back in.
The question on stackoverflow doesn't get any answers too: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22885767/how-to-programmatically-switch-an-in put-method-on-os-x
Did I hit a bug in the OS or is it something that I'm missing?

    Hello
In order to select "Hiragana" text input source in "Kotoeri" module, you'd need to first enable Kotoeri and then select Hiragana. Something like this (provided the textinputsource executable is in the current direcory):
    #!/bin/bash
    ./textinputsource -e "Kotoeri" -s "Hiragana"
Similarly, in order to select "Pinyin - Simplified" text input source in "Chinese - Simplified" module, use the utility like this:
    #!/bin/bash
    ./textinputsource -e "Chinese - Simplified" -s "Pinyin - Simplified"
For those text input sources which are not nested in module, you may simply select it like this:
    #!/bin/bash
    ./textinputsource  -s "Dvorak"
    Tested under 10.6.8. Don't know about 10.9.
    Good luck,
    H

  • Strongly Suggest the Apple to develop the new input method for Chinese

As we know, there is only one input method in iOS, but it is really hard to use, so I strongly suggest the Apple to develop the new input method for Chinese, any body agree with me? please support our suggestion!!!! thanks.

    ZhangWQ wrote:

I am puzzled by your statement.  Here is the list of 7 that I see:
    Simplified Chinese: Handwriting, Pinyin, Stroke,
Traditional Chinese: Pinyin, Zhuyin, Cangjie, Stroke
When you use the feedback channel to contact Apple, make sure you tell them exactly what it is you want.  Asking them to "develop a new input method" will certainly just be ignored because they will have no idea what you are talking about.

  • Could not find Simplified Chinese input method when using FormsCentral

    Hi
When I creating files using FormsCentral, I could not find the input method of Simplified Chinese, therefore, the document I created look strange. The font is not what I wanted but I really could not find Simplified Chinese to edit the document.  Could anyone please show me how should I do it or where I can download the font pack?

We currently do not support Chinese forms.

  • On iOS7, Korean Language Input Method with serious error.

Korean Input Method for iOS7 has serious problems with bluetooth keyboard.
It has absolutely incorrect state transition for the keyboard typings.
Keyboard input and cursor moving are independently acting.
On the word processing apps, when the line changing occurs while typing, error comes on the first word.
It looks like to have very poor performance while typing.
clearing last status of input and transiting to a new state to a new word-syllable are not working properly.
Input method on iOS5 is much stable and better than on iOS7.
iOS7 Korean Input Method really makes me annoying.

For Apple to see this, you need to repost it at

  • PO creation using LSMW through batch input method

Hi, I am new to working with LSMW and i have completed a project for creating purchase orders using the direct data input method. I need to do the same using batch input method, however in the maintain structure relationship step, it is only allowing me to assign one structure to the recording that i have done, however in po creation we need separate (nested) structure for header and line item, could anybody help me past this please?

    Hi Rudra!
OK, now you just know, why you have only one line, not multiple PO item lines. To get a dynamic number of items, you need a complex program - just like standard direct input.
If you need a field, which is not part of this program, don't try to write your own program for batch input - it's just to much work before you have a good result.
You can use Bapi method instead with BAPI_PO_CREATE1. This can handle a lot of fields and there is some documentation available how to fill the Bapi.
If this looks to complicated in the first moment, think about creation of POs via direct input and a small batch recording to change your additional field(s) afterwards. (You can select EKPO table to generate list of 'wrong' migrated orders for input in LSMW.) Use field 'Item' in the bottom of ME22 to position your desired line in first screen line, just change one PO-line after one other (every time a 'save' -> no problem with different number of lines / PO).
    Regards,
    Christian
