Pearl 9100 will not retrieve MMS

My Pearl 9100 will not, and has not since I have owned it, retrieve MMS. I get a notification that someone has sent me a message, my phone displays the message and says ***Not Retrieved Yet*** with a button underneath saying "Download Now" and "Expires mm/dd/yy/time". But after I click "Download Now", my phone does absolutely nothing. I have no idea what to do or where to start to even try to remedy this situation. My carrier is Bell Canada.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • Itunes will not retrieve cd info even though connected to internet

for some reason, when i open itunes now, a box opens saying that itunes was not properly installed and will not retrieve cd info until I reinstall itunes. I'm worried that if I do this I will lose all my music and playlists. I admit, I'm new to itunes/ipod, so any help is much appreciated.

Reinstalling should not lose your playlists or music, but just to be safe, make a copy of this file
    iTunesLibrary.itl
Put it in a temp folder, or on your desktop. It is the database file that itunes uses. You might need to change Win Explorer to show file extensions.
I always back up that file before I upgrade or reinstall iTunes.

  • Adobe Reader XI will not open MMS Links

I am trying to create a document in PDF format for a client that has an MMS link in it but it will not open from Adobe Reader. I got someone to test it with Adobe Acrobat and it works. If I try to create the document from Adobe Acrobat it doesn't make a difference. I have my default web browser set to Internet Explorer since that is the only web browser that works with this kind of link. (Microsoft Media Services). I can copy and paste the link into Internet Explorer and it will Launch correctly so it is something specific with Adobe Reader.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this.
I am creating the document with Word 2013 and saving it as a PDF ( The Links works fine form Word.)

    Some other things to try...
    Update to Reader version 11.0.5
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • My iPhone 5 will not send mms through iMessage, any help?

I have recently been abroad and since returning to the UK, my phone will not send pictures over iMessage, I never had this problem before travelling. I have my wifi switched on and I have checked my send and receive settings. I can receive picture messages through iMessages but cannot send them. The person I am sending them too has an iPhone and has their iMessage turned on, I have checked my updates and my phone does not need updating, I can not think of anything else it could be. I have also checked and I am able to send them through text just not iMessage. Any suggestions would be great!

Yes I have turned imessage off a number of times and that does not seem to he doing the trick, and it is not delivering them then I have to press on the photo and either chose try again or send as text message, I have had the setting on to not allow sending pictures as texts (so they can only send as imessage) since I got my phone in January and it has always worked until now, I have turned that off to allow me to send them as picture messages now but it's still not working over iMessage, I have also tried it using 3G and not wifi

  • Pearls perils will not open at all

I Have been playing Pearls perils for quite a while the last two days I have not been able to open the game at all help

Try to force quit the app. If that doesn't help, try to reset your iPad
    Reset
Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. No data will be lost.
    Force close an app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
If neither of those help, go to the app store and check out the reviews for the app. You may need to change the sort from 'most helpful' to 'most recent'.
See if others are also having issues. If an iOS update or such breaks an app, you can at least know others are having issues. Unfortunately, if the app is broken, it's up to the app developers to fix the app.

  • Occasionally MAIL will not retrieve my Gmail

If I do not get any mail for a day on my mac mini, I log into Gmail on their server. The mail is there. This happens maybe once every week or two. I am not changing any settings on either Gmail or my SnowLeopard mail. I tried clicking on "Get Mail" and I can't force it to retrieve the mail. I tried using mail connection doctor and it said "connection and login to server succeeded".

It is a POP account. Actually it is working now. All I changed was a setting in gmail that asked wither you wanted to keep the message on the gmail server after downloading or not. For some strange reason it did not want to delete the old messages from its server, strange.
    Thanks Bob

  • How can I fix IPhoto when it will not retrieve any photos?

My harddrive was full so I started deleting photos from IPhoto. The appliction then froze and wanted to quit. I said no then used the empty trash from IPhoto to remove the photos. But when I closed IPhoto then restarted later I could not pull up any photos and it does not respond. I think something is missing that it is looking for. How can I get it back in sync?
    PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Applications need a certain amount of free disc space to function properly. When iPhoto crashed it damaged its database. You'll have to have enough free disc space to get it back up and running.
Try a database rebuild: hold down the Option and Command keys while launching iPhoto and see if it will give you the rebuild dialog box. If so, check the first 3 items and see if it can repair itself.
If this doesn't work, you'll have to manually rebuild your library. You'll have your photos, but albums, keywords, etc. will be lost. Post back if you need further instructions.

  • My iPhone 4 will not send MMS or Group messages and the MMS and Group messages are on in the settings. Help?

I keep getting the red mark "message failed" whenever i attempt to send a picture or forward. i checked my settings and MMS and Group messaging are both on. This has happened several times. Help!!!

I've been an AT&T customer since they were under different names in the 90s and have never heard/seen that. I would check with them. I'd really like to see that error. To get a screenshot on the phone, press the home button and sleep/wake button together quickly and release. You will see the screen flash slightly and hear the camera shutter noise.

  • My 4s on 02 will not send mms

hi , i have the 4s on 02 contract, i have sponke with 02 and most of the time they just talk me through the settings ! i have changed the setting a few times now and no joy.
apple say i have to pay for a solution ! but i believe this is unfair and i have a phone that does not fullfill its spec.
    Help please !!!!!!!

I have the same issue with my black 32GB 4S and have had since I got it.  However, having spoken to o2 and them informing me that it costs 50p per MMS and there are no plans that allow you to send free MMS anymore (I used to have a plan that would deduct four of my free texts for each MMS I sent), I decided it wasn't worth bothering with anymore.  I refuse to pay 50p to send a picture!  It works perfectly fine on iMessage and if I have any recipients who don't use an iPhone, I use e-mail or one of the Instant Messenger apps such as Kik or WhatsApp instead.

  • Mail will not retrieve

After some 15 months of using mail without problems, now when I try to collect mail, my activity viewer indicates that mail is going through all the motions of picking up mail and indicates that there is no mail available. If I go into mail2web I can pick up mail without problems. I have changed none of my mailserver settings and discussed this problem with my server techies who say it is a mac problem. I have tried rebooting but it makes no difference. Can anyone help please

    You’re welcome.
I have no problem connecting to the internet via an external modem.
Glad to know. I didn’t say nor meant otherwise. Does the network interface used to connect to Internet appear at the top of the list in System Preferences > Network > Show: Network Port Configurations or not?
the mails show in the gear action window as not downloaded but ready for download.
Sometimes messages left on the server clog up the account there, or Mail chokes on a message it cannot download and that prevents it from downloading the rest as well. Solving this problem will probably require removing one or more messages from the server. What are your Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings for this account?
You may tell Mail to remove from the server all the messages that have already been downloaded by means of Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove now. Alternatively, you may use the Account Info window to remove specific messages from the server. And if the account allows web access, you may also remove messages from the server that way.
Try removing from the server messages that have already been downloaded and/or the first message not downloaded yet (i.e. the message that Mail appears to be choking on).
You may want to try to download those messages with another mail client such as Thunderbird first, to avoid losing them — and use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to import them back into Mail afterwards if you wish.
There is something, however, that you may want to try after removing from the server messages that have already been downloaded, but before removing messages that haven’t been downloaded yet.
For POP accounts, Mail uses a file within the account folder to keep track of which messages have already been downloaded. Deleting that file causes Mail to treat everything still on the server as if new and try to download it again:
    1. Quit Mail.
    2. In the Finder, go to the ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/ account folder.
    3. Locate one or two files named MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded and move them to the Trash. Mail 1.x used MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded to keep track of which messages had already been downloaded. Mail 2.x uses MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 for the same purpose.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

  • Pearl 8110 will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8110, and I upgraded the Desktop Manager, then it quit syncing with outlook calendar.  It does sync with noes, memos, addresses, but no calendar.  when the sync is getting to the calendar it says "please wait" then just kicks me out.  No error message in the log, nothing.  I even retrograded back to 4.7.0.17, but no changed.  Here is what else I have:
    Blackberry 4.5.0 Core Applications 4.5.0
    Blackberry 4.5.0 System Software Properties
    Blackberry MDS runtime Properties 4.5.0.20
The calendar is the big thing for me.  Any Ideas??
    Thanks

I just wanted to let you know that I'm having the same problem with my 8120 and it started on the 18th.  I spent 3 hours, 39 minutes, and 42 seconds on the phone with BB support yesterday with no luck and we tried every trick they could think of.  I'll certainly let you know if I find any information since I too can't live without my calendar.

  • IPhone will not send MMS/ connect to cellular data

This may help some folk. I've just bought a 5s and after installing the new nano sim, neither the cellular data or MMS would work. Turns out that my carrier detected it was an iPhone, so when sending over the carrier settings,  assumed I had a dedicated iPhone data plan which I haven't. All I had to do was change the cellular data and MMS APN details and it worked. Anyone with this issue should contact their carrier for the correct APN details. In my case I had to swap from idata.o2.co.uk to mobile.o2.co.uk.
    Hope this helps!

Usually this is a carrier issue. Call your carrier and let them know. If its Verizon or sprint have them re-provision the account.

  • Ever since updating to ios6, my iPhone 4 has weak to no wifi signal and iMessage will not work, MMS stopped working, and I don't get my social network notifications on wifi unless I'm close tithe router or I catch a good signal from it.

The update has completely screwed up my 4.. No more iMessage over WiFi, I have to hold my phone in the air sometimes to catch a signal and I never had to do that before, and after the update I can't send any pictures, over iMessage or 3G .. And with the weak signal I only get my notifications from apps when it wants to.. I'll be connected to wifi and using it, but won't get any notifications, or when I do.. Its whenever the signal has registered or my phone has authenticated it, I've had these problems since last year with no fix, I've reset my router countless times, I'm on Verizon and NEVER had wifi or imessage issues before ios6 .

Make Genius Appointment and take your iPhone to the Apple Store. Only Genius can make these determinations. The broken screen voids your Warranty. The Genius could overlook this, you never know. Take your iPhone to Apple Store, hope for the best, but be prepared to pay $149 for Out of Warranty Replacement iPhone 4. A good price for replacement of an iPhone 4 with broken screen and WiFi problems.

  • Mail will not retrieve/import archived mbox files.  Thoughts?  Help?

I've done a clean install of my wife's iMac (PowerPC iMac G5, 1.6 GHz with 1GB ram) on OSX 10.5.8. Prior to the clean install, I archived her Mail as per Apple on an external LaCie drive.
Upon installing and reorienting everything, I booted up Mail, and attempted to import the archived mail or .mbox files. Each time Mail quit cold showing a window which offered to Relaunch, Ignore, or Report to Apple.
I followed a few of the Apple tips, such as launching Mail from the Applications folder, and cleaning up third party plug ins (none here this time), same thing happened. Just as a test, I tried to import the archived .mbox with Thunderbird, no dice.
In fact, even if I try to copy the /mbox or Inbox folder to the desktop, it just hangs, showing a small window "estimating time to copy". . . .
I am able to open the table of contents folder in TextEdit, and there shows 24.2MB of data when I "Get Info" on the .mbox icon.
Any thoughts? How can I open these files, extract tham and do it better next time? Could it be an issue of an older machine dealing with newer software and choking?
FYI, when I did this on my MacPro, everything went 100%.

After rebooting and trying Migration Assistant nothing is working.
When I try and import the mbox files that I exported before I reinstalled OS X, I locate the files and click ok. The "import" dialog tells me that no valid mbox files were found. Any ideas please?
