Solved!
Go to Solution.

On your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced > Service Books and scroll through and look for any entry that appears to be an email account.
Delete each you find, then Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

  • Pearl 9105 upgrade, cannot get email ?

I have a Pearl 9105 that I purcahsed in the UK, on the tmobile network.
I repatriated to Australia, unlocked the phone, and started using it on the Optus network. My emails, once I configured them, worked straight away.
I've been having some issues with the phone recently, and tried upgrading from the tmobile v5 to Optus v6 OS.
However, after upgrading, it's not downloading my emails. I did a full backup and restore, and I can see the relevant email address service books.
I try going to the email setup application, and it asks me for a username and password. So I called optus, and they don't really understand what i'm on about - I know I need the username/password for the Blackberry portal, but they keep telling me it's the username for my email account.. which I know it's not. (Interestingly., I've tried my BBID as well, which it tells me isn't valid)
So I'm presently stuck with anon-working email solution.. I've tried going back to the previous tmobile v5 OS, and a factoryreset on both V5 and V6.
Optus called me back.. and said my phone is already registered on BIS with another network, so they can't help me.. but they couldn't answer why it worked previously, and they didnm't have the same problem.
One thing I have noticed, is despite putting the Optus v6 OS on the handset, I still have a tmobile startup screen, and the Optus applications (Optus Zoo etc) and service books aren't being pushed out correctly - the tech support at Optus told me they are unable to push them out for some reason?
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to resolve the issue, or how I could get a full, proper Optus OS installed ?

  • Pearl 9105 - Unable to connect to BIS

    Dear all,
I have big troubles with my Pearl 9105.
I used it with H3G Italy operator, and now switched to Vodafone Italy.
I can connect to the Internet via the browser, but I cannot configure/receive emails or use the app world applications.
I wiped the phone and installed the latest Vodafone Italy firmware (using BBSAK), but nothing changed.
I cannot configure email from the device; from the Vodafone internet site (http://mobileemail.vodafone.it/), I configured my email account, but nothing happened on my phone.
Of course, the Blackberry option is activated by Vodafone.
The old operator (H3G Italy) already deleted my account.
This is driving me crazy. Someone can help me?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Daniele

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Unable to install OS 6 on Pearl 9105

    Hello,
    I read the post:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Pearl/9105-failing-to-install-OS-6/td-p/980163
    and
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Pearl/9105-failing-to-install-OS-6/td-p/980163/pag...
But I still have the same problem.
    Currently I have:
    BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.1323 (Multilangauge)
    Package Version: 5.0.0.1323
    Consisting of:
    Applications: 5.0.0.783
    Software Platform: 6.2.0.75
    1. I tried to download the latest software from here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=02A32AD2669E6FE298E607FE7CC0E1A0
    2. Installed on my PC before connecting the device
    3. Deleted Vendor.xml from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    4. Connected device and closed BB Desktop Software
    5. Executed Loader.exe from the same place
    6. It was connected to device and showed me a list with all the applications installed on it
    7. I clicked next
    8. No actions are required
    9. Click on Finish and no change to OS
I tried to do all this with internet and Ethernet cable unplugged, no change.
I read something about Data Plan, but have no idea what is that...
    Please help.
    Kiril.

on step 1 are you talking of this file?
    9100_9105AllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel2114_PL6.6.0.151_A6.0.0.481_Telus_Mobility.exe
after step5 it should prompt you with a list of OS to install (maybe with just one line). Do you confirm that it is the one above in my message?

  • Pearl 9105 without BB option from carrier?!?!

    Hi everybody,
I tried to solve this by browsing and searching through different forums and blogs, but I am still confused.
I am thinking about getting me a Pearl 9105. I like that its designed to be a phone/communicator that can also play music and browse the net, and not the other way around like my current android device.
Unfortunately I am quite confused regarding the blackberry option everyone is talking about.
I do not need any kind of Push-functionality. I only need POP email "on demand", webbrowsing, navigation and synchronisation with mit home PC and Outlook (USB or wireless). Will that be possible without the blackberry option?
I tested a Peal 8110 from a friend of mine and was not able to set-up a POP3 account or even browse the internet.
Could you please help me? Will I be able to use the Pearl as describes without the plan? Or do you know a link/webpage where this is described in detail? Some information on the internet says "do never even think about using a BB without the BB option" and others say "of course you will have full functionality without the option".
    Thank you very much!
    regards,
    Max

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Blackberries do email differently than other devices. Other devices use an on-device email client to do email...generating traffic over the carrier data network (and consuming those precious data kb's) even for the simple act of checking your email server to see if there is anything new. BBs use BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service), hosted at the carriers/RIM, that acts as an intermediary...BIS checks your email services and only generates traffic to your BB when there is something to do.
To my understanding, there have been attempts to develop on-device email clients for BBs, but those get very little discussion here, which leads me to believe that they just don't work well enough to warrant keeping them on a BB. Further, if that's the method of email that a person desires, then a BB is likely not the best device for them anyway.
Se this FAQ for a description of the services available at different levels.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for%3F
Different carriers have different mixes among those service levels, so you'd have to talk to them about the specific plan from them that would enable the services you desire.
    Good luck!

  • Pearl 9105 Keyboard Fault or Software Problem?

    Hi,
I have had my BB Pearl 9105 for about 3 months now, it my first BB and I am overly impressed with it as it does everything I need and more.  However I have noticed over time that when I am writing text (either email, or SMS or anything that uses text input), I find that when I push a key once, the equivalent letter or number will output multiple times.
For instance if I set numlock on and press the number "2" once, it will write "222".  This sometimes happens on other letters on the keyboard also, but the worst is mainly when using key 2.
I have done a reset by removing the battery when the device is on, and that temporarily fixes the problem, however after a couple of hours it goes back to outputting multiple letters or numbers.
Has anybody else seen this?  I would have thought this problem was actually something physically wrong with the keyboard, but it moves around randomly and can happen to any of the keys or multiple keys at once, which suggests a software problem to me?
Any help would be much appreciate. My details are below.  Thanks and regards,
    Jamie
    BB Pearl 3G 9105
    V5.0.0.689 (Platform 6.2.0.54)

It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out.
It really is more common than you think.
    1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
    2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
    3. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
*Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

  • How can I calculate the total size of my email messages?

I have an iMac and MacBook Pro. I use Apple's Mail application on each computer and have three email accounts that are feeding into it. I currently synchronize everything through MobileMe. I want to know how to calculate how many MB (probably several GB!) of space my email messages are now using, as I want to upgrade to Lion on the two computers and will soon be getting a 32BG iPad on which I would like to use the Mail application as well. I'd like to know in advance if I need to pay for more than the 5GB of free storage that iCloud will give me before making these changes, as I don't want to lose my email messages. For various reasons, I'd prefer not to go the route of archiving the messages. I can't figure out how to calculate how much space the messages are currently using.

The important detail is the cylinders not the partition numbers. The partitions are simply slots where cylinder space can be assigned if its available.
The backup partition (2) represents the whole disk and shows you have 14086 cylinders available.
But you'll notice that all of those cylinders are already assigned to various partitions. So there is no free space available.

  • Is there any way to copy email messages from an iPhone to a computer (pc or mac)?

My pc with my mail database was formatted and the mails lost. I have about 1000 mails on my iPhone that I desperately want to transfer back to my desktop.
My mail was on a POP server and I have no copies anywhere other than on the iphone.
I am not concerned about future email messages  - my question is about transferring existing messages from the iphone to a computer.
Any help is much appreciated, in have googled this to death and can't find a solution!!

  • Why Outlook email messages show unreadable characters

When you receive a new email in Outlook, you may see unreadable characters in the email message body. This issue could be caused by one of the following reasons on Outlook client side:
The email you received is converted to plain text format or a different encoding by a virus scanner.
This always happens when you are using characters (Such as apostrophes, double quotes, dashes, and ellipsis) supported by the "Smart Quotes" feature. When the email you received is converted to plain text format or a different encoding by a virus
scanner, the character is converted from the ASCII character to a Unicode character, which is not supported on the recipient’s side.
To prevent this issue from happening, we can turn off the “Smart Quotes” Feature in Outlook:
    1. Open Outlook 2013.
    2. Click File > Options > Mail.
    3. Click Spelling and AutoCorrect button.
    4. In the Editor Options window, click AutoCorrect Options button to open the AutoCorrect dialog.
    5. Click AutoFormat tab, and then clear the check box before “Straight quotes” with “smart quotes” under Replace heading.
    6. Click OK.
The issue may be related to font substitution when a change is made to the Web Options in Microsoft Word.
If a change is made to the Web Options in Microsoft Word, registry data under the following key may be configured incorrectly:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Internet\Fonts
This problem has been seen to occur when the Latin string value under the \Fonts key was empty (no value).
We can check the Web Options setting in Word via:
    1. Start Word.
    2. Go to File > Options > Advanced.
    3. Scroll down to the General section, click Web Options button.
    4. Switch to Font tab.
To resolve the problem, we need to delete the \Fonts registry key. To do this, please follow:
    1. Exit Word.
    2. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type regedit and press Enter.
    3. Navigate to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Internet\Fonts
    4. Right-click the Font key and select Delete.
    5. Click Yes and exit Registry Editor.
The sender used an e-mail program that did not mark messages with a language encoding (character set), or marked messages with an incorrect encoding setting.
In this case, we will see unreadable characters when we open the received message in our Outlook. For example, European regional characters (like German) require UTF-8 encoding protocol. So if the encoding in your environment is set to ASCII, the regional
    characters will not be available.
To resolve this issue, we need to change the encoding in Outlook to which will display your message correctly.
    1. Double-click to open the message you received.
    2. Click Actions button in the Move group under Message tab.
    3. Click Other Actions > Encoding.
    4. Click More and select the correct encoding setting for the email.
    5. After you finish reading the message, close the message, and click Yes button to save changes to the message.
When we send an email with Outlook, we can set Outlook to automatically select encoding for outgoing email messages to increase the possibility that the recipient receiving the message will see all the characters rendered properly, even if they run older
e-mail programs. By default, Outlook 2013 will automatically select an optimal encoding for outgoing e-mail messages. We can change the settings here in Outlook 2013: File > Options > Advanced > International Options section.
Something you may need to know when you set the encoding settings:
    * The Unicode (UTF-8) character enables the complete range of characters on all computers. It’s the official IANA code for the UTF-8 character encoding.
    * Western European (ISO) and Western European (Windows) character set can be read by almost all computers.
    * If you are using a language other than English, you must choose the correct character set for that language, or the characters you need will not be displayed correctly.

The "problem" is not really a problem. I send and receive emails fine. But the in the panel between the Inbox (message queue) and the reading pane this is displayed:
From Mozilla Support Forum <[email protected]> (white star)
Subject Toad-Hall posted an answer to your question "Why do received email messages show they are addressed to an address other than my own?"
Reply to [email protected] (white star)
    To [email protected] yellow star)
cfortso@gmail is the address of one of my contacts.
This glitch is not really bothersome, I just can't imagine why it happens.

Open Mail, go to top and under Mail select Preferences. Click on general and make sure where it says 'Dock Unread Count, you have it set to Inbox Only or All Mailboxes, whichever you want and that it isn't set to none. If it is already set then try cetting it to none, close mail, restart, open Mail and go and change it again from none to what you want.

  • Since 10.5.6 upgrade, email messages are garbled text

    Hi,
This problem seems to have started with the latest upgrade. My email messages are coming in with garbled text. This happens in my Yahoo account where I will go to the mail website and the text there will be fine. It's only in the mail program.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pete.

    Hi,
    I have the same issue.
Although the mails seems to have been downloaded correctly parts of the parts of the message mime information is displayed as part of the mail body.
The only thing that helps is to rebuild the index of the specific mailbox (inbox in my case).
BTW: Mail of iPhone OS does NOT have this problem. Generally it handles mails MUCH better than the real OS X. Strange, isn't it.

  • When my iPhone 5s is paired with my 2014 Lexus Rx350 I am able to view text messages but cannot view email messages in the car display screen. My previous Blackberry Torch would read both text and email messages. Does anybody know how to fix?

When I pair my new iPhone 5S in my 2014 Lexus it displays and allows me to read the SMS messages off my phone on the car display but it does not display or allow me to read email messages. When pairing my previous Blackberry Torch the car displayed and allowed me to read both. Lexus have told me it is an Apple problem and not a Lexus problem which may be true as the BB phone worked great. Does anybody know if Apple is planning an iPhone update for this?

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!
