Pen Drive (HP V-220 W 8 GB ) not working

This is regarding a pen drive HP V-220 W 8 GB.
It has stopped working and is not being detected by the system. I have some important data stored in it.
I contacted HP at Customer Care Number in India and I was told that my pen drive can be replaced as it is in warranty period but we can-not help you out with the repair/data recovery of original pen drive.
Please help me out as where I can recover my data and get my pen drive repaired.
Hopeful to get a favourable response at the earliest.

I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Have you opened Disk utility and formatted it? Most new HDDs come formatted for Windows, not Mac.

if that's what you're seeing, contact adobe support for an activation count reset, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
otherwise, attach a screenshot of the error message or quote it.

Printer driver embedded in win 8.1 64bit not working

Hi,
my photosmart 8750 printer, which is a great printer and still works fine, at least with my old laptop running windows xp that is....unfortunately with the embedded HP printer driver in windows 8.1 (64bit) it is not working at all.
This is what is been happening so far, first time connected, the printer is recognized by windows 8.1 and the driver automaticly installed, if a printer test page is send it prints normally. But that is it, anything else, pdf,word doc or a picture will not print!
The printer responds to a print command, by starting something that sounds like it's going to print but after a few seconds it stops and nothing happens after that, if I look in the dialog box where docs are normally listed while they are waiting for being printed there's nothing, I'veallready restarted the print spool service but that didn't work...also reinstalled the printer a few times, but that didn't help....
My perception at the moment is that the driver for win 8.1 is the problem, because the printer works fine with the original HP driver on my win XP laptop.
Hopefully there's a workaround for this problem.....

Optical DVD drive ejects any inserted disc and does not work!

I can not read or write certain DVDs in my Mid-2009 MacBook Pro since upgrading to Mountain Lion.
I insert an empty DVD-R (Verbatim) and it is being ejected. I insert a recorded DVD-R (Verbatim) and it is being ejected.
I have tried a commercial Video DVD - (Sony) and that one actually did work ... so I am pretty clueless - I can not write any DVD right now.
In the forum I have found many posts regarding this issue under Lion already.
However, my drive used to work fine under Lion and I was able to watch / record DVDs etc.
Now, it is no longer working and I can not use it. Does anyone know how to solve this?
So far I have found the following hints (which did not work for me):
ALL OF THESE THINGS DID NOT WORK:
1) Reset the PRAM (https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379)
2) Uninstall all virtual machines (Virtual Box, etc.)
3) SMC Reset (https://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964)
some people talk about it being an issue with the 64 bit kernel and that you should try to reboot into 32bit (holding down 32 on startup)

I also had the same problem shortly after upgrading. My optical DVD drive ejects any disk I put in. This started about 2 months ago.
I just got back from the Apple store, after setting up an appointment, and they told me that my life is horrible because my MacBook Pro is no longer under warranty as of 32 days ago. This is really BS.
However just like any other company that treats me with poor customer service I just take my future business elsewhere and make sure not to recommend them to any friends and family - as well as tell them about my horrid experience.

Try to download the PC health monitor released for newer models like for example Satellite L870.
As far as I know it should be possible to install such tool since the health monitor isnt model specific tool.

Hi, Please try to disable write access to USB drives: Run Registry Editor (regedit).Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ControlCreate a New Key named as StorageDevicePolicies.Highlight StorageDevicePolicies, and then create a New DWORD (32-bit) Value named as WriteProtect.Double click on WriteProtect, and set its value data to 1.or return it and get a new one. Latest ODBC driver 9.0.1.5.0 does not work/ test connection

I am using an Oracle 9.0.1 database. Before, I installed the 9.0.1.4.0 (6/25/02) and the test connection in the ODBC Administrator works perfectly. I have problems to access a timestamp column. So I installed the latest available driver 9.0.1.5.0 (11/1/02). The installation did not report any errors but the test connection fails with "Unable to connect ...[Driver Manager] driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed". What's wrong? Can I have both drivers installed in parallel?

You can only have one ODBC driver installed per Oracle home. Unless you have multiple Oracle 9.0.1 homes, you can't have multiple 9.0.1 ODBC drivers installed.
Have you tried re-creating the DSN you're using? This generally isn't necessary, but it's in the README that comes with new drivers because there are occasionally circumstances where it is necessary.

Realtek Audio driver and codec R.2.76 does not work with Windows 10

I just installed the new Realtek software R.2.76. The install runs fine. Unfortunately, there is no sound and the console hangs.
Fortunately, the uninstall also runs fine. My system was beeping and chiming again in a few minutes with the old version.
Sadly, Cortana remains mute.

The default is the Realtek built on the motherboard. It is also the default communications device. My ham stuff is plugged into a USB sound device. It has better RF shielding.

As suggested on another thread, I tested audio operation using Voice Recorder. Voice recorder works fine in both record and play. Cortana remains mute but appears to work otherwise.
Does it matter that this was an update from 8.1 and not a fresh install? Is there an ISO for Build 10061? I have a spare drive coming in the mail.

I tried a few things last night. I disabled the Realtek audio hardware in the BIOS. Reboot. I plugged my speakers into the USB audio device and set it as the default (Inc. default as comm.). Reboot. Cortana was still mute. This
appears to remove the possibility that Cortana's mute state has to do with the Realtek hardware.

Upgraded the Hard drive, now sleep light and infared is not working

I upgraded the hard drive on MacBookPro3,1
with Hitachi 320GB, 5400 RPM hard drive.
I quadruple checked the connections to see if I missed
anything but the sleep light is not coming on when the machine is at sleep
and infrared is not showing up on the SystemProfiler -> USB
Any advice on what to do.

Oh I forgot to mention that the new hard drive is also
have clicking noise of parking the head that
everyone is complaining about. I thought only 7200 rpm

How old is the desktop? Versions of Windows XP before SP2 did not recognize usb mass storage devices such as the pen drive. Also, do the usb ports generally work? Have you tried all the usb ports on the desktop?
